Argo City. Inner Space.

Out in the vastness of inter-dimensional space, exists a city called Argo City. When the planet Krypton blew up, the city of Argo City was put into inner space. Inside Argo City, there was a advanced civilization. There were structures. One teenage girl was exploring Argo City. This girl's name was Kara Zor-El. She was the daughter of Zor-El, and Alura-El. Kara was about 14 1/2 years old, though she looked more like a 16 year old girl. She saw the wizard, Zaltar. Zaltar was kind of a wizard. He owned this thing called the Omegahedron.

The Omegahedron was a globe like thing that powered Argo City. Without the Omegahedron, Argo City wouldn't last for a few days. The air would become thin. So, the Omegahedron was kind of a big deal. Anyway, Zaltar was controlling the Omegahedron with what looked like a orange Harry Potter wand. He was busy creating a tree. Kara was curious.

"Oh, it is beautiful. What's that gonna be, Zaltar?" Kara asked Zaltar.

"I think a tree." Zaltar said.

"What's a tree?" Kara asked.

"A lovely thing that grows on Earth." Zaltar said.

"Earth? You mean where my cousin went?" Kara asked.

"Yes. I might go to Earth someday." Zaltar said.

"I don't believe you. How?" Kara asked Zaltar.

Zaltar pointed to a transportation device. It was a spherical device. It looked like something of the the novel: John Carter by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

"In that." Zaltar said, pointing towards the sphere like device.

"Up there." Zaltar said.

He pointed to the Binary Chute. The Binary Chute was used for floating vehicles in case of an emergency.

"The Binary Chute? But you could never survive the pressure. It would destroy you." Kara said, concerned that Zaltar might get hurt.

"Oh, yes I could survive. There I go, zip, zap, zip, and I'm gone." Zaltar said to Kara.

"But you'd never leave us, Zaltar. You'd never leave Argo City." Kara said.

"I'm afraid I might want to. Too much of a good thing, here. I want to go to Saturn. Yes, I might go there." Zaltar said.

"Saturn is... Is that further away than Earth?" Kara asked.

"That's a silly question. Didn't you learn about sixth dimensional space in school, Kara. Do they not teach you anything, anymore?" Zaltar asked Kara.

Kara didn't really pay attention that much in school. She was too busy thinking about other stuff, like other planets.

"Well, of course they do. Uh, I know the equations. Uh - I just can't see them in my head." Kara said.

"Most great artists find mathematics troublesome, Kara. Only use your imagination. Saturn and Earth are in outer space, but we - we are in inner space." Zaltar said to Kara.

Kara wanted to see how the Omegahedron worked. Zaltar pointed the wand at the tree figure. The tree figure came to life. Kara was amazed.

"Can you really create life with the Omegahedron." Kara asked Zaltar.

"No, no, just the illusion of life. A kind of half-life, maybe. A pale shadow of the real thing But it is lovely, the way the light plays over the surface." Zaltar said.

All of a sudden, Kara's mother appears. Zaltar gives the orange want to Kara. He hides the Omegahedron underneath his shoe.

"Is everything all right?" Alura said to Kara.

Alura was Kara's mother.

"Sorry, mother. I was just talking to Zaltar." Kara said to her mother.

Alura noticed that Kara was on the Edge. The Edge is a area located near the edge of Argo City. Kara wasn't supposed to go there.

"Kara, you know you're not supposed to be so near the Edge without a grown-up." Alura said to Kara.

"I'm sorry, mother." Kara said.

"I was just looking after her." Zaltar said.

Zaltar handed the Omegahedron to Kara. Kara took the Omegahedron and the wand. She pointed the wand at the Omegahedron. The Omegahedron sparkled. Kara created a dragonfly. Kara brought the dragonfly to life using the Omegahedron. The dragonfly flew in circles over Kara's head.

The dragonfly punctured a hole in the membrane that protects Argo City. The hole sucked in the air through it. Zaltar and Alura noticed the hole. Kar was being sucked through the hole. Luckily, It was a small hole. Zaltar grabbed the wand. He sealed up the hole using the matter wand. Zor-El rushed to the scene. "You've lost the Omegahedron." Zor-El said to Zaltar.

"That's not correct, I lost the Omegahedron." Zaltar said.

"Without the Omegahedron, Argo City couldn't survive more than a few days." Zor-El said.

"Our lights will grow dim and the very air we breathe so thin." Alura said.

"I know," Zaltar said, "So I shall find it. I shall go right to the end of inner space and I'll return it."

"Impossible." Zor-El said. "How? No one can leave Argo City and you know it. This is our universe and you destroyed it with a childish game."

"I think it can be done." Zaltar said. "Through there, the Binary Chute, in the traveller."

"Like a coward, you choose instant destruction," Zor-El said to Zaltar. "While the rest of us are doomed to suffer."

While Zor-El and Zaltar were talking to each other, Kara Zor-El sneaked up to the circular spaceship that was located atop a platform. She snuck into the spaceship. Kara looked at the various instruments and switches of the spaceship. She touched three buttons in sequence, then a glowing dial, another dial, and another. The small craft vibrated and rumbled to life.

In the plaza, the adults turned towards the sound of the spaceship as it left the pad. Kara's mother pushed to the front of the crowd.

"Kara, no!" Kara's mother said.

The spaceship was floating, wavering towards the Binary Chute. The crowd responded with cries of alarm and despair. People rushed to the Edge.

"Kara... Kara... My baby! She'll be killed!" Alura, Kara's mother said.

"You lunatic!" Zor-El said to Zaltar angrily. "She'll be killed!"

"Oh, no, she won't." Zaltar said. "She'll be safe, through the Binary Chute, through the warp, into another register."

"Another what?" Zor-El asked Zaltar incredulously.

"Gravitational radiation." Zaltar said. "A pathway from Inner Space to Outer Space."

"Then she'll never be the same, ever." Alura said worringly.

"At least she'll be alive." Zor-El said to his wife reassuringly.

"And my fate is sealed." Zaltar said. "I've lost the Omegahedron. I must be sent to the Phantom Zone. Your suffering will be short. Mine, forever."
