Chapter 1

Author's note: Apologies in advance if the timelines get skewed, but as I mentioned it's my own twist to the series. Also, characters will act out of character. Any similarities in any names used is purely coincidental. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Time frame: 8 years later, post Adventure

A vixen stood looking out the viewport on the bridge of the Great Fox drinking in the view of Corneria from space. She was dressed in a figure hugging green flightsuit over which she wore a white jacket. A red scarf hung around her neck while her long waist length silver hair cascaded freely down her back providing a contrast to her orange fur. In the view of any man she would rank high on the desirability scale, not just for her fame but also for her well maintained figure.

A beep got her attention as her eyes glanced away from the view towards a digital schematic of the carrier that showed the flight deck doors had been opened.

She turned her eyes back to the view out the window, 'It must be Falco after one of his drunken endeavours. He's the only one who has the habit of not calling it in when landing or taking off,' she thought to herself.

She felt a slight judder pass below her feet, the telltale sign of a ship docking. She would have heard Rob's mechanical voice call out the process though she had muted the robot to enjoy some peace and quiet, a rarity with the entire team on board.

Her thoughts eventually moved to the enigmatic blue vixen they had picked up on Sauria. She was an enigma, to say the least, she could sense things before they happened and for someone not speaking Cornerian, she had picked up the language fluently by the time they had arrived in Cornering orbit.

Her thoughts though we're derailed before she could progress any further. A pair of arms wrapped themselves around her waist from behind and she found herself pulled again a solid muscular chest. "Miss me, pup?" a voice growled in her ear as her head shot up, jade eyes meeting a solitary grey eye as she stared up at a familiar lupine.

"What are you doing here? You can't just waltz in here, what if Falco or a CDF repair crew was on board? And how the hell did you get the new access codes, I know I locked you out, after what you did last time you came aboard."

Freeze frame: The Vixen's POV

Well, some of you are probably wondering what is going on. So let's start with the introductions first.

Most people know me as Fox McCloud, famous mercenary pilot, and hero of Lylat. My actual name is Felicity Reinard-McCloud though I tend to use just Felicity Reinard as it helps me pass under the radar. 'Fox' is just a nickname I picked up growing up. I admit I was more a tomboy than a girly-girl and somewhere along the lines I got that nickname and it stuck ever since.

The big one-eyed bruiser currently holding me is Wolf O'Donnell, my rival or enemy - cue the sarcastic quotation hand gestures. God would people have a coronary if they knew the truth.

The truth is rather simple, I met the big lug while I was still in high school and him in the flight academy. Well, one thing led to another, then dad got involved, a promise was made and now here we are a decade later happily engaged for the past five years.

No, you heard that quite right, the big guy is my fiance though we spend a lot of time apart given I'm the hero and him, my mortal enemy. It's only in the rare downtime when no one's looking that we meet and more often than not in some less than savoury places. But these meetings are something we look forward to even for as they say absense makes the heart grow fonder and we only rarely get to spend time with each other.

Freeze frame end.

"You didn't think I wouldn't know my way onto this ship by now? I'm hurt. You could be living on the CDF main base planet-side and I would probably still visit with none being the wiser. Besides, I got your schedule on my wrist tab, no CDF repair crew onboard till next week and you're the only person who hasn't filed a flight plan to the surface. And as for the new girl, I don't think she has any problems with us."

Felicity sighed as she let herself relax in his hold, "That's because her culture is a lot more open than ours and that's beside the fact that she isn't from this system. So why did you risk coming into Cornerian orbital space?"

"I'm here for my payment," Wolf replied in a serious tone though his eye shown with a playfulness that anyone would say never existed.

The vixen's head snapped up, "payment for what?"

" For keeping that cute ass of yours from falling over the edge in that ruin on that backwater planet where you saved the blue girl," Wolf replied, one of his hand gravitating downwards and towards the back.

" Well I haven't shot you with a stun blast yet so that should be payment enough, though if your hand moves any further it won't be an idle threat," Felicity growled out, her ears folding and cheeks colouring.

"Ouch, cold. And here I though you would be happy to see me."

Freeze frame: Fox's Pov

As some might have guessed by now, dad made Wolf promise to keep me safe no matter what before his passing. And being the honour bound wolf that he is, he has saved my life on more than one occasion.

There was the time during the Lylat wars where he shot down that a*hole Pigma Denger when he tried to blind side me - passed it it of as Denger getting in his way. I can only imagine how much lip that pig gave him afterwards. Honestly I think it's just the payment he's getting from keeping Denger on the Star Wolf team that's kept him from turning him to bacon.

Then there was the time during the final assault on Venom when he literally rammed my Arwing out of the way of a wayward shot that would have likely come straight through my cockpit. He says he saved my life though I didn't see how ramming a Wolfen into an Arwing will save anyone's life - do note the sarcasm.

And most recently there was the Sauria incident where if he hadn't grabbed me by the pants I would probably gone over the edge trying to save Krystal - the only other person outside of Peppy to know of our relationship cause the big idiot kissed me in front of her. I don't know how he's explained his disappearance for that save though cause he sure didn't just turn up out of nowhere.

Freeze frame end.

"Oh shut it. Shouldn't you be back in Saragosa plotting my downfall and listening to Oikonny and Denger complain endlessly about me frying Andross for a second time, or a wasted bounty" Felicia sassed.

"Leon can handle that. Besides, the only plotting I'm doing at this point is how to extricate you from that flightsuit."

Whack "Pervert," Felicity growled out as she slugged the wolf on the nose, her face colouring enough to show through her fur colour.

Wolf chuckled, bringing his arm up and rubbing his nose, " so is the team doing ok?"

The vixen sighed,"Yeah, everyone is planet side currently. Peppy is showing Krystal around along with Lucy, Falco is back after galavanting through the system and probably being a pain in the ass at some pub and Slippy is probably with his dad or sourcing spares."

"Bird brain's returned? Still being an ass?" Wolf asked as he tightened his grip on the vixen.

"This is Falco we're talking about, the Cornerian dictionary has his name as a synonym to the term being an ass."

Wolf chuckeled as he leaned down placing a kiss between the vixen's ears before nuzzling her hair.

"This feels nice. You and me, alone with no distractions," Wolf murred out, "why do we have such few moments like these since our engagement?".

"Probably has to do with the fact that you're the most wanted person in the system and the golden boy for Andross' forces," Felicia replied before letting out a huff, " dad was right you're a magnet for trouble."

Wolf only smirked as he placed a chaste kiss on the vixen's ear, "you're one to talk, I recollect you encouraged me to get into trouble. And ofcourse people will blame the big bad wolf and not the little devil in sheep's clothing that's tagging along."

Felicia chuckled as she recollected some of the instances. Sitting behind Wolf on his bike egging him to go faster, painting graffiti on the Cornerian flight academy walls, toilet papering the chief instructor's house and so many more.

The bridge remained silent for a few minutes as both vixen and wolf savored the bodily contact and silence before the vixen spoke up.

"You still didn't answer my question, how the heck did you get aboard?"

Wolf chuckled before he spun the vixen around and pressed his muzzle to hers, the kiss deepening as the vixen pressed herself closer.

Pulling apart the Wolf couldn't help but chuckle some more at the whine eminating from the vixen.

"I have my ways," he spoke only to receive a dead eye stare from the vixen.

"Fine, I had Leon hack Falco's arwing for the clearance codes. Seriously, the bird hasn't updated his fighter's cyber security measures and he parks it in the open at Corneria General Spaceport. I'm amazed that someone hasn't taken it for a joyride yet."

This elicited a groan from the vixen, another agenda to deal with. Hopefully Slippy could do this on the down low without involving the bird.

"Also your dad did give me the security override codes for the Great Fox years back and those seem to be the same."

Felicia froze, before looking up at Wolf with eyes that promised pain.

"So that's how you replaced all my undergarments with sexy lingerie a few months back with no logs for entry or being seen on the ship's security video," she growled out.

Wolf looked away not meeting her eye. "I don't know what you are talking about. Why would I do such a thing?"

Felicia growled before raising her wrist tab and accessing her logs and pulling up a security feed of her room. Wolf watched with wide eyes as he saw himself walk into the room with a bag on his shoulder, moving into the bed room door and exiting a few minutes later clearing holding one of her underwear.

The vixen turned to face the Wolf and spoke in a sickly sweet voice, "I upgraded the Captain's quarters with it's own closed loop security feed that doesn't plug into the main security system," before replaying the video only to pause at Wolf holding what was clearly her underwear, "you were saying? That's clearly your ugly mug!"

Wolf opened his mouth to answer only for the vixen to slip out of his grip.

"If I didn't love you so much I'd jettison you out the airlock right now for that stunt. You had to pull it just before the Sauria mission, you bloody know how uncomfortable it was to wear that under a flightsuit. I still haven't had time to go shopping for replacements as we only got back in orbit three days ago after a detour to deal with pirates on the way back."

Wolf only chuckled as he walked over to the huffing vixen before twisting her around and wrapping her in a hug and placing a gently kiss on her nose. "You don't need to go shopping. The bag is stashed in the cargo hold in the compartment with your dad's stuff. Plus you can't get rid of them yet, I still need to see you in them. Can't gift you something and not see you wear them"

Felicia huffed as she extricated herself again from Wolf's grip while simultaneously mumbling under her breath while not letting the wolf see her atomic blush.

"What was that?"

"I said spend the week running down the streets of Corneria City's main avenue in the buff saying 'I love men' and I'll model them for you" the vixen growled eliciting a shiver from the wolf.

"Heh, uh... yeah... um... I don't even want to think about that. That's evil! You're evil!"

"I know! and I'm still waiting for that apology for what you did."

"I did nothing wrong, I just gifted my sexy little vixen some sexy underwear as any good boyfriend would. And knowing that you'd just throw them out of the airlock if I only gifted them to you, I got rid of the others... temporarily."

"'Ugh' I've got so much to deal with besides you adding to it," Felicia huffed as she rolled her shoulders and neck, "I really need to go to a spa for a massage and to unwind."

"Your wish is my comand my lady," Wolf growled playfully, before proceeding to sling the vixen over his shoulder, earning a squeal for his actions.

"Hey, put me down," Felicia growled as she proceeded to hit her fists on the Wolf's back thoguh without any conviction. As much as she wanted to be serious and angry at her fiance they hadn't spent quality time with each other for almost a year and she could find it in herself to waste the opportunity.

"Sorry no can do, it's ungentlemanly to let a lady walk especially when she is tired."

"And carry one like a sack of potatoes is?"

"I'm only part gentlemanly," Wolf responded as a grin stretched on his face.

"I'm know, you're half hooligan," the vixen playfully responded only to let out a yelp as the wolf brought his hand down on her backside with a resounding smack.

"Oh, you did not," Felicia growled with wide eyes before starting to struggle in the Wolf's grasp, an action that earned her a second swat as the large lupine walked out of the bridge, the sound of the vixen struggling and the male's laughter dimming as they walked further away.

Meanwhile Rob having seen the whole proceeding, rotated away from the flight readouts to the protocol input controls, his arms gliding over the control surfaces as he activated a hidden pre-programmed protocol into the system. The wolf would need an early warning on his comm unit to depart before any of the team barring Peppy arrived back. After all it was the standard protocol that his precious owner had fed into his system.
