Katie found herself in the middle a forest, quietly sitting under a big growing tree. It was so tall and wide, almost made it as a tent, her tent. There she sat, looking at the beautiful scenery around her. The smell of wood and soil, the sound of wind gushing through the branches and leaves and occasional bird chirping on the background; all gave the essence of true nature that could never be found in the metropolitan.

It was a relaxation. Tranquility. Peace.

Until it wasn't.

The moment Katie opened her eyes, everything changed. The sky was red as blood. The trees were no more but burned. The cool fog drastically changed into heavy black smoke, suffocating her. No more true nature. No more nature at all. A fallen tree took her back into the reality that she needed to leave this place. Without even thinking, her leg started to move on itself. She ran, away from the fire. But where would she run? Where would she go? She had been running for so long, yet everything around her still the same. Everything was crumbling into pieces.

Burning.

Collapsing.

The smoke was getting heavier inside her lung. And her eyes became red and teary. Katie put up one last energy but it was just too late. She looked up to see a tree snapped and fell right on top of her.

And then she felt a pull into darkness.

Katie jolted up from the bed, panting, drenched in sweat. Her breathing was rough, her face was hot read. Everything else was fuzzy.

"Katie? Are you okay?" the bedroom door opened revealing a young woman coming in. "I heard a voice from your room I thought you weren't asleep."

"Oh, I'm fine. Just, woken up. Can you turn on the lights?"

Katie regretted as soon as she said. When the light turned on, Julia caught the distraught look all over her and immediately checked on. "Hey, you okay? Oh shit, your body is hot. Are you ill?"

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be fine."

"No you're not. You woke up like this, in the middle of the night is never a good sign. Do you need meds or hot water or something?"

Katie weakly shook her head. "It's only a dream. An intense dream that caught me off guard. That's all."

"Oh poor Katie. Everything is fine." Julia reached out to hold her hand. "Do you wanna' talk about it?"

"No. Really, it's a stupid dream." Katie offered a smile to her sister. Julia gave a smile of her own but Katie knew she was still in thought. "What Jules?"

"Is it… is it about Nathan?"

Katie's mouth curled into a quick frown. She let out a sigh and leaned back to the pillow. "Actually, no. It's not about him."

Julia nodded and decided to linger on Katie's bed. She just snuggled into her arms as they laid there quietly, watching the glimpse of moonlight from the window. Not that Katie complained.

Ever since Katie's husband died a week ago, she had been having so many dreams and flashes in her mind. She was mourning and her unconscious part started to mess her up. Some were reminiscent of their relationship. Some were Nathan's own accident. Some were more surreal that the others. Some were a couple of odd things being thrown together. Nevertheless, all was a dream. Only dream, right?

Even though she could distinctly taste ashes inside her mouth and traced the fire on her skin. But It was a dream. Everything is fine, right?
