"So let me get this straight, Eddie, Eddie Brock, nicest guy ever, was Venom?" Gwen Stacy asked Peter Parker while they were hanging out in his room.

"Not so loud. Yes… kinda. He was halfway controlled by this creature that was

messing with his head." said Peter Parker aka The Spectacular Spider-Man.

"He almost killed me!"

"Actually that was Harry."

"What! You..." she began to whisper.
"You're messing with me, right?"

"The basic gist is they weren't entirely in control of their actions. I was attached to the creature

once. It makes you see nothing but the worst possible shade of life. Not fun.

...And now you're all caught up."

"That's a lot to take in..." she described how she was feeling.

"but as long as they're okay now I can breathe easy."

"Right, they were the only two people to ever know my identity. Other than you of course. "

"It's getting pretty late, let's call it a night Pete."

"Sure thing, school's finally back tomorrow anyway."

"You say that like you miss it."

"After that night last week, yeah I'll take biology over helicopter any day of the week."

They hugged and kissed goodbye as Gwen's dad arrived to pick her up.

After she left Peter looked in the mirror and saw half of himself as spider-man, thinking:

"Good job Pete, you finally did it. You got the girl, life as the wall crawler

is under control, city's getting better every day, and hey, I'm back on good terms with Eddie.

That seemed pretty impossible for a while there.

Can't forget to visit Harry though. I really hope things work out for him." He then shut his light and went to bed.

Meanwhile…

Oscorp. 54th floor. Tech lab.

A broad, tall man walks through the elevator doors. He approaches the security guard with a

sinister trick up his sleeve.

"Hey! You can't be in here. Let me see some ID." the guard said.

"Sure thing." he said, handing him an empty wallet.

There was a shock. The guard's body surged with electricity, lighting up his skeleton

like it was hit with a tesla gun. He then smiled, and said

"And now I'm gonna go get what you wanted."
The guard picked up some incredibly advanced technology, Oscorp

military grade stuff, and brought it to the other guy.

Another shock later, the thief spoke.

"Man, I am good. Heh, man…" then went back down the elevator as the

guard stood dazed and confused as to what had just happened to him.

The next morning at Midtown High…

Sally Avril was talking to Rand Robertson near the front gate.

"So for Homecoming, I was thinking we could try and call in a limo.

Everyone expects you to do it for Prom, so we'll stand out the most if we do it now.

Rand!? Are you even listening to me?"

"Woah. Check out Parker." he said as Peter and Gwen entered the

social square, arms locked and smiling.

"Called it." said Flash Thompson.

Mary Jane walked up to them.

"It's about time. So, who asked who out first?"

Gwen said, "That'd be me."

"You go girl, that's the 21st century for you." MJ replied.

Peter said, "Hey, I'm just glad all the love triangles are done."

Flash shouted out, "Ayy. It's the new guy!"

This got everyone's attention.

"New guy?" MJ looked over at the football squad and saw a blonde, sensitive looking

new football player on the team.

The three walked over, when Flash noticed them.

He exclaimed, "Cameron, this is Mary Jane, Gwen, and Parker.

Two of them are complete nerds, I'll let you guess which isn't."

The new guy looked right at MJ and shook hands with her.

"Cameron, Cameron Blake. Good to meet you."

"Back at you." she said.

Then the bell rang, and he gave Peter and Gwen a quick wave.

Going in together, Gwen said to Peter, "That new guy kinda came out of nowhere."

"Yeah, he doesn't seem that bad." said Pete.

Later that day…

Photography class.

"Okay, I know you're a little restless after the break and you can't wait to

get back home and play xbox 360, or whatever you do. But who remembers what we were learning about last week?" The teacher monologued.

A kid in the middle of the room raised his hand.

"Yes, let's see… Cameron? I don't believe we've met. Were you here for our first class?"

He said, "No, um… but at my last school we were learning rule of thirds."

She then responded, "Where was it you went to school before Cameron?"

"Jersey."

"Ah, looks like New Jersey and Midtown have the same curriculum. Rule of thirds

represents the overall composition of a shot. Imagine a tic tac toe board over your camera lens. The points where the lines connect, there are 4 of them now, are the

focal points of the picture. It's where the human eye is naturally drawn towards.

Put the central object of your shot over one of those

connections and your shot will be better already."

A little while later, the bell rang and class was dismissed.

"Nice going with that question earlier." Peter came up to Cameron for a compliment.

He responded, "It's Parker, right?"

"Nah, that's just my last name. It's Peter."

"Is it true that you take the pictures of Spider-Man on the news? How do you do it?"

"Yes and I don't know, I kind of just post up somewhere and wait for him."

"And that girl MJ, what's she like?" he asked.

"Oh, she's nice, real laid back in a sense."

"Got it, I'm the same way. Anyway, I've gotta go get my registration wrapped up.
Seeya around."
he said, and headed to the main office.

Heading outside, Peter got a call from Eddie.

He answered, "Hey Bro, how've you been?"

Eddie responded, "Just another workday, hey, listen you remember Warren's other symbiote, right?"

"It's not on the loose, is it?" Peter prepared to sigh.

"Nooooo."

"Eddie."

"It's not. I'm just messing with you. I wanted to know how he got the A.I. to work."

Pete said, "You can probably just ask him, aren't he and Radman working together?"

"No go Bro. I tried, but he's been extra secretive about it ever since ours went loose."

Peter was reminded of Carnage. "Speaking of, you did get that thing under control right?"

Eddie looked at the containment chamber behind him and saw it

slamming the walls with 6-7 loud bang sounds corresponding to the hits.

"Should be fine." He said, then hung up.

Author's Note:

Welcome to Arc 2, "Poisonous Distortions!" This is going to be much more ambitious in terms

of storytelling than the first Arc was, but for good reason. A few new characters will be introduced, one of them being Cameron Blake, as well as some villains. The overall theme of

this Arc is going to be deception… reality, and well… the distortion of the truth.

So pay attention, you may be able to figure some things out before they even get revealed in the story. Until then, get ready for the roller coaster ride that is this extraordinary Arc!

(I'm surprised they've yet to call him "The Extraordinary Spider-Man" to be honest.)
