George Trevor staggered down the dark hallway with his journal in hand. He gulped and panted, dreading the dire thirst he was feeling. His stomach growled furiously and he placed his hand on his belly, groaning and his teeth chattering. Never in his life had he experienced fear quite like this, the fear of being trapped and dying of starvation and dehydration. Thoughts of his wife and daughter filled his mind and he imagined how frightened they must be.

His eyes strained to see through the darkness, there had to be a way out. But he noticed something in the dark, and to see it more clearly, he took out a match and struck it against the box, creating a faint light.

His eyes widened. It was a gravestone, with his name! He collapsed to his knees in front of it and he shook his head, "No... They knew I would end up here. I...it can't end like this." He felt like laying down and accepting his fate right there, starving to death. But just when he thought he'd fall dead, his eyes spotted something: it looked like the G in his name could be pressed down. He reached out to touch it. Even if it was a trap, he was half-dead already. But if this was a chance to escape, then he had to stay alive.

"God, please...help me stay awake...Don't let me fall when I've come so close. Please, protect me." He pressed the letter down, and sure enough, it was a button. The stone moved backwards revealing a ladder leading down. A smile spread across his face and he began to follow it down.

George found himself in a basement hallway. He knew this place. There was a door to the kitchen down here, he had to get there to replenish his health! With newfound hope, he hurried through the hallways and came to a corner with the door to the kitchen. It was unlocked! George pulled open the door and rushed inside, thankfully finding the kitchen devoid of people. He ran to the fridge and opened it, finding some fruit, some meat, juices. Never had he been so happy to see food in his life! He took a carton of milk and gulped it all down, welcoming the taste of the cold drink. After that, he wolfed down some ham, then a fruit cabob, and then he heated up a croissant in the microwave. Once he had his fill, he felt like he had come back to life! He was ready to move! He grabbed a long knife from the counter and ran towards the door leading upstairs. "I have to find Jessica and Lisa; they must be somewhere in this place!" Right when he opened the door, he saw one of the chefs right in front of him. The chef, whom George knew as Thomas Campbell was shocked at the sight of him. Just before Campbell could scream an alert to all the other residents, George stabbed the man in the mouth, blood splattering onto his face. Pulling the knife back, he watched as the chef fell dead at his feet. At this point, all George cared about was saving his family, no one else mattered. He threw off his jacket and ran up the stairs, coming into contact with another resident, a researcher who was coming back from the storage room. George, instead of killing him, tackled him to the floor and pressed the blade to the man's neck, "My wife and daughter, where are they?" he asked through his clenched teeth.

The researcher, named Edward Carter, looked up at the angered man in shock. George pressed harder, "Jessica and Lisa Trevor, where are they? Tell me and I'll spare you the suffering." Carter gulped and his teeth chattered, "B-bottom level. In the laboratory, in the cell...Jessica died about a week ago from the virus, b-but Lisa is alive. I-I can't say she's mentally stable, though. She's killed two of our other subjects. W-we disguised them as you and Jessica, but she saw through them and ripped their faces off. If you go near her, she'll-"

"She'll recognize me. She's known me her whole life. Thanks for the information." With that, he covered the man's mouth and stabbed him in the heart. The man died instantly and George got back to his feet and ran down the hallway, through the door into the dining room, he burst into the empty main hall.

He knew he had to go through the door behind the staircase, so that's where he went. He ran through the doors and down the flights of stairs. He climbed down the ladder and saw a stone coffin and four pillars in each corner of the altar. He hardly paid any attention to that and ran through the opening on the other side, then he took the elevator up and into the courtyard where the fountain stood. He took two pendants from his pocket and placed them in two statues: one a wolf, and the other an eagle. The water drained revealing an elevator. He took that down into the lab and he climbed down another ladder, running through the double doors, meeting two other researchers. George held no concern for them, so he waited until they were off guard before smashing both of their heads together, knocking them out. He figured that the cell his daughter was in might be locked, so he needed to find a way to unlock it. He took one of the researcher's coats and put it on, hiding the knife under it. But the other researchers might recognize him from somewhere. How could he hide his identity? He looked in another room to the side and found an empty break room with many supplies. He entered and found a map of the lab on the wall, and he quickly memorized it, noting the cell's location. He looked around on the shelves and scanned through the items, eventually finding a surgical mask. He smiled and grabbed it, putting it on over his face. At least now his voice would be slightly muffled.

He then found a couple files including photos of the researchers and their names. He looked over each one and memorized their names and descriptions. Nodding to himself, he exited the room and hid the two researchers in the breakroom. George then walked down the stairs and entered the actual facility. He turned right to see a large metal door, leading down to the cell. He pulled down all the levers, unlocking it. Then looking behind him to make sure no one was watching, he walked through, shutting the door behind him. He walked down the stairs slowly, listening for any sounds. He heard some raspy breathing, and he wondered if it was Lisa. He licked his lips out of nervousness and peeked around the corner. A single door was down here, but no other researchers or anything. George prepared himself, for if that researcher was telling the truth, he needed to be careful. He took a deep breath and slowly approached the cell door, peeking through the small barred window. His eyes widened and his heart jumped to his throat, in both fear and excitement.

Lisa, his daughter, was sitting on the bed with her hair dangling down over her face. She was in a short dress, tattered and ragged. George was almost afraid to call her, but he had to. "Lisa." he whispered. It didn't seem like she heard him, he called again, "Lisa." The girl lifted her head a little and slowly turned her head towards the door. George couldn't believe what he saw. Her eyes were wide and alert, like a wild animal. There was blood on her face, but it wasn't hers.

She opened her mouth a little and spoke quietly, "Who...who are you? I don't want scientist...Mom...Dad." George's heart skipped a couple beats, but he pulled down his mask and whispered, "Lisa...this is Dad. The real one." It seemed like Lisa's eyes brightened at his words. She stood up and walked toward the door, slowly. "How...I know?" George smiled at her and said, "Reach through the bars and touch my face. I've held you in my arms many times before. You'll know me by touch." The fragile girl raised her hand and reached through the bars, feeling George's face as he prayed for her to recognize him.

Almost immediately, Lisa gasped and reached both of her hands out, touching his face with both hands. Tears escaped her wide eyes and she whispered, "Daddy?" A wide smile spread across George's face as he nodded happily, "Yes, Lisa. Don't be afraid. I'm going to get us out of here. We'll escape together."

"Mom?" asked Lisa. George sighed and shook his head, "She's dead, sweetheart. But there's no way in hell I'm leaving her body here to rot. We'll get her on our way out." George then took his daughter's hands and added, "But for now, I need you to wait here a bit longer. I need to find a way to unlock the door. Once it's open, we'll run right out of here. Understand?" Lisa nodded, then George kissed her hand, "I love you, Lissy. I'll be back." Then George ran back up the stairs, putting his mask back on. He shut the cell door behind him and made his way toward the elevator.

He figured he'd need to get to the control room to unlock it, so that's where he headed. He pressed the button to get to the bottom floor, and when it opened, he stepped inside, going down. He then made his way into the control room and came to face some researchers standing by the machines and such.

George inhaled deeply, Calm down, George. Act natural. He walked toward the researchers to get around them. There were about 4 there. One of them he recognized, and this was Oswell E. Spencer. He was in charge of everything. George had to be very, very, very careful not to blow his cover. He walked up beside them and listened in on the conversation, "G-virus is working slowly within the subject. We're scheduled to check on her in a half hour." said one of the scientists to Spencer.

Spencer chuckled and said, "It's remarkable how much little Lisa is taking compared to her failure of a mother. What a shame, Mrs. Trevor would have made such a fine experiment." George's blood boiled at that insult to his wife. But he had to keep his cool, otherwise he and Lisa would be done for.

George's eyes observed the room, looking for anything that might be a release latch for the cell door. He walked slowly to the other side of the room where he spotted a file that had the labels for the switches. He glanced up at the researchers, but they were still occupied with the machines and their own conversation. So, he gently opened the file and scanned the labels and sketches for an answer.

He found it on the second page and looked at the machine next to him. So, he set the file down and shut it, then he backed away and grabbed the right switch as he kept his eyes on Spencer. George flipped the switch as discreetly as possible, then he made his way slowly past the researchers and Spencer. "Once we're finished perfecting the G-virus, we're going to need other subjects to inject it into." One of the other scientists asked, "Who do you have in mind, sir?" George quietly made his exit, and just as the door shut, Oswell answered, "I was thinking of trying it on the mansion's architect...George Trevor."

George quickly made his way back down to Lisa's cell and he opened the door, "Come on, Lisa. Let's get out of here." Lisa looked up from her state and she got up and ran towards her father, wrapping her arms around him. George laughed a little and held her for a minute or two, then he took her hand and said, "Now, when we get up there, we need to go through the doors on the left, then we have to climb up the ladder and take the elevator up to the courtyard. We'll escape from there." Lisa nodded and she and her father ran up the stairs, out of the room, coming to face Spencer who was right in front of them.

Spencer smiled, "Leaving? So soon? But we haven't finished experimenting on Lisa." George stood in front of his daughter protectively, "And you won't finish. We're leaving immediately." Spencer chuckled and took out a gun, pointing it at George. "Please, Mr. Trevor. Stay, we've so much left to discover." But George wasn't listening. He whipped out his knife and slashed Spencer's hand, causing the man to drop his gun in pain.

He slashed Spencer's face pretty badly, then he pushed him onto the floor and ran with Lisa through the doors and up the stairs. Together, they climbed out of the lab and took the elevator above ground. George and Lisa took the next elevator down into the altar room and they stopped. "Lisa, help me knock these pillars down. Mom might be in this stone coffin."

So that's what they did. Lisa knocked the pillars over without any problem, but George had a bit of difficulty. Eventually the pillars were gone and the coffin opened revealing Jessica Trevor's corpse. Still recognizable, but decaying slowly. George pulled her body out and carried her over his shoulder. He then took Lisa's hand and ran and they climbed up the next ladder. Then they ran through the hallway and up the stairs, through the doors and into the main hall of the mansion. Lisa pointed to the front doors and George nodded, "Come on, Lisa!" The father and daughter ran out of the mansion, faced with the deep forest. George squeezed Lisa's hand and they ran off into the forest, never to return to that mansion.

It took George and Lisa two days to reach Racoon City, where they currently lived. The first thing George did was contact the police. He told them of the events at the mansion and that he was nearly killed and that his daughter was experimented on. The police assured him that they would look into it. Then George took Lisa and Jessica's body back to their house where he helped clean Lisa up and fed her some food. She was still infected by whatever virus they gave her, so he needed to take her to the hospital. He called a nearby funeral home and arranged to bury his wife. George never wanted to put his daughter through another experience like that, so he just stayed home for a while after that. When Lisa came back downstairs from getting dressed, she found her father crying in his chair, so she sat next to him and he held her close, relieved that he was able to save his daughter.
