The next morning, Bones woke up to a very smooth pillow. Her hand was resting o this smooth pillow as well. She slowly raised her head, not wanting to open her eyes to the daylight that crept between the curtains. She had only raised her head a few inches off her pillow when she peeked an eyelid open. At the sight before her, she bolted upright and out of bed.

Her pillow as she thought was not a pillow at all. However, it was a very well chiseled man's bare chest, Booth's chest. She was trying to remember what happened last night. She looked down and saw her pajamas were still on, at least that was a good sign. Did she fall asleep on Booth? Why wasn't he on the pullout? Why didn't he push her off?

"Morning, Bones," Booth had woken up, but still lay in bed with his eyes closed.

"Booth? I didn't know you were up." Bones watched as Booth rested his arm over his eyes.

"Wish I wasn't."

"Well, I am going to take a shower and then head down to breakfast," Bones was gathering her clothes for the day and Booth's words froze her where she stood.

"My chest is so warm. Such a better feeling than that ice last night," Booth kept his eyes closed under his arm.

Bones did not know how to respond to this, but her cheeks grew redder the longer she tried to think. Instead, she chose to go to the bathroom and escape the situation. Booth opened an eye at the sound of the bathroom door closing. He smiled ear to ear remembering last night. He thought he should "fall asleep" and not make it to the pullout more often.

Booth got dressed and left for breakfast before Bones had even finished showering. He knew she liked to take her time in a hot shower every morning. He filled two plates down at breakfast. One plate was filled with steak, eggs, potatoes, and toast while the other plate had an assortment of fruit, bagel with cream cheese, and yogurt. Booth grabbed an empty table and went back to grab two cups of coffee. He returned to the table and placed the fruit plate across from him with one of the coffees. He ripped open two packs of sweet n low and poured them into the cup across from him with a container of creamer.

About halfway through his steak, Bones spotted Booth in the breakfast nook and sat in the chair across from him.

"This is exactly what I wanted for breakfast. How did you know?" Bones asked.

"We're partners, and we have been living together for two months Bones. I'd be pretty oblivious to not know," he gave her a sly smile before filling his mouth full of eggs. Bones could not help but smile at his thoughtful act.

"Thank you, Booth."

"Enjoy your breakfast. I will be right back." Booth got up and headed back to the buffet. When he came back, he was carrying a plate with about half a pig's worth of bacon piled high. "You can show thanks in other ways, Bones."

"What do you mean?" She asked. Booth had a piece of bacon sticking out of his mouth.

He broke the piece of bacon off and leaned in for a kiss, "A nice thank you smooch would be nice."

Bones laughed and pushed his duck lips away from her, "Get your meat murdering mouth away from me."

"Aw, just admit it. You love the smell of bacon. Everyone does."

"Definitely not. "

"You can't even give me a little sugar. I mean I did do all this work—" Bones cut off his over exaggerated attempt to seem like he rescued her morning by quickly kissing him on the cheek. She did it so fast he would have missed it if he hadn't been the one receiving it.

"That's my girl, Roxie."

"Did I mention how great you look today, Booth?" Bones needed to drop his ego down a little.

"Is it that bad?" Booth was feeling around his face. Most of the swelling had gone down but the bruising had set in. Booth had many different colors splotched across his face.

"Yeah, it looks like you got your ass kicked," Bones snickered to herself.

"Hey, I won that fight," he bragged.

"With my help."

"Yes, yes, you are the voice in my ear. I thank you for that. But I am the one taking all the hits," he pointed his fork at her.

"Call it even?" She asked.

"Truce." They shared a smile while they finished their breakfast before going their separates way for the day.
