A/N: I can't believe it...Day 12. This is worth it. This is so worth it.

Disclaimer: If I owned LoT, Len wouldn't be dead and Captain Canary would have been more than casual flirting and one kiss. So basically no, it's not mine.

Day 12: Whole World Is Watching

Mick wasn't helping.

This wasn't unusual, per se, but it was also rather annoying at the moment. This was something Leonard had been contemplating for weeks, and Mick leaning against the wall with a beer in one hand and a donut in the other wasn't helping his nerves.

"Mick, would you quit eating?" Leonard said finally.

Mick contemplated his donut, then looked over at Leonard and said, "No."

Leonard rolled his eyes.

"I don't see why you don't just do it," Mick said. "You've got the guts to do a lot stupider stuff than propose to a girl."

"Said girl can completely kick my ass in a heartbeat," Leonard reminded him. "And what if she says no?"

Mick shrugged and took another bite of donut. Through the mouthful, he said, "Then you find some other person to flirt with."

"Who would I even...?" Leonard asked.

"Constantine," offered Mick. "Zari. Charlie."

"Yeah, no on Zari, and Charlie's a bit...unpredictable," Leonard shook his head. "And Constantine's cute, but he's not that cute."

"Thought you had a thing for blondes," Mick said dismissively.

"I wouldn't call it a 'thing' for blondes," Leonard said. "I do seem to end up with a lot of them, but there was that guy I met in juvie, the one with the brown hair?"

"He didn't last long," Mick remembered.

"That's because we were in prison. And anyway, I'm just nervous."

Mick took a drink. "Ah, you'll be fine."

With that, he finished his donut and walked out.

"Yeah, thanks for the help, Mick!" Leonard called after him, sarcasm dripping from his tone.

"You're welcome, Boss!" Mick called back, completely oblivious.

Leonard shook his head in exasperation.

Ray walked in, glancing behind him in confusion, probably due to Mick. He looked back to Leonard.

"What's up with you?" asked Ray.

"I'm trying to work up the courage to propose to Sara," Leonard grumbled.

"You'll be fine," Ray said immediately.

Leonard glared at him. "That's what Mick said, Raymond. Not helping my confidence level."

Ray shrugged. "Sorry. You will be okay, though. Sara loves you; it's not like she's going to say no."

"You're no help," Leonard groaned, and stood up. He left the room, ignoring whatever Ray said to him on his way out the door.

He ended up in the library and ran into Nate. Leonard collapsed in a chair. Nate noticed.

"You okay, man?" he asked.

"If by 'okay' you mean nervous as hell about proposing to Sara, then yeah, I'm great," Leonard drawled.

"Wait, you're proposing to Sara?" Nate asked.

"If I ever get up the courage to just fucking do it," Leonard sighed.

"You'll be fine," Nate said.

Leonard groaned. "Not you too. This is not helping."

He got to his feet and left the library before Nate could reply.

And of course, ran straight into Constantine.

"Sorry, pretty boy, didn't see you there," Constantine said.

"Save the flirting, Constantine, I'm not in the mood," Leonard snapped.

"What's got you so worked up, love?" Constantine actually sounded curious.

"I keep trying to convince myself to go propose to Sara. It's not working," Leonard grumbled. "And talking to the others about it hasn't helped my stress level about the whole ordeal any."

"You'll be fine, mate," Constantine said. "She's a tough one. But she does love you. She's not going to say no. But if she does, I'm always free. Anyway, you'll be fine."

"Aaand you're no help either," Leonard sighed. "I'm getting really sick of this."

He walked away. He seemed to be doing that a lot today.

Zari and Charlie found him in his and Sara's room twenty minutes later, still stressing. Leonard looked up at their knock.

"Mind if we come in?" Charlie asked.

Leonard shrugged, and the two women approached.

"We heard from the boys about your proposal dilemma," Zari said.

"I swear, if you're here to tell me I'll be fine, I will ice you both," Leonard threatened. "I'm getting really tired of being told 'You'll be fine' about this."

"Yeah, not the words I'd wanna hear either," Charlie said. "You don't need those wankers telling you you'll be fine."

"You need people telling you to believe in yourself, and in her," Zari said.

"Trust that you can do this," Charlie continued. "Believe that you're ready for this."

"Trust in her," Zari added. "Trust that she loves you, and that she'll make her choice wisely, even if that answer is no."

"Prepare yourself for the possibility, however slim, of rejection," Charlie went on. "Prepare yourself for it, and move on, believing that you can do this no matter what answer she gives you."

"Trust your emotions," Zari continued. "This is all about emotion and instinct, not logic or reason."

"Abandon whatever plan you may have regarding the proposal," Charlie advised. "Ad-lib it; something straight from the heart is better than something pre-planned anyway."

"And if she does say no? Wait a few years and try again. Never stop trying until she says yes, but give her room to breathe and think and make her own decisions," Zari cautioned.

"Remember that she is a grown woman with two turns with the league of Assassins under her belt, as well as multiple deaths that she's survived," Charlie reminded him. "Remember that she is strong and fierce and brave, and that she loves you with every piece of her heart and every fiber of her being."

"Remember that she can kick your ass, but she will also be patient and understanding and she will listen," Zari added. "She's smart and loyal and perceptive, and she's the best part of you."

"Consider that a while," Charlie said as the girls stood up to leave.

"We'll gather everyone but Sara herself in the bridge," Zari added.

They turned to leave. Leonard looked at his hands a moment, then said, "Wait." The girls turned; Leonard nodded at each of them. "Thank you both. I needed to hear that."

Charlie smiled. "We know."

Then the girls departed. And Leonard was left alone to think over what they'd said...

"Captain Lance, could you please report to the bridge? I believe Mr. Snart has something he'd like to show you."

"Alright, Gideon, tell him I'm on my way."

Sara arrived on the bridge looking beautiful as ever. Leonard guessed she'd come straight from practicing with her staff. She appeared not to notice the rest of the Legends gathered on the bridge, but Leonard knew full well they were there; Mick, being Mick, had brought popcorn.

Needless to say, it wasn't helping his nerves any.

"Hey," Sara said. "You wanted me for something?"

Leonard swallowed and steeled himself. "Yeah, actually I did."

Sara looked politely confused. "Well, go on, Len, stop being cryptic."

Leonard took a deep breath, then said, "I'm not one for speeches so I'll keep this short. Sara, I love you. And I don't tell you that enough. I love you, with every piece of my heart -" he glanced quickly at Zari and Charlie, then back to Sara - "and every fiber of my being. And that's why I can finally say the four words I've been struggling to for weeks now." Leonard figured he'd just go with the usual, sterotypical proposal - both for dramatic effect and because it was really the only way he knew how - and so he dropped to one knee and produced the silver ring he'd stolen during that failed heist all those years ago from his pocket. Sara looked surprised. Leonard couldn't really blame her - even he was still a little surprise by the words that came out of his mouth next.

"Sara Lance," Leonard said. "You are the best part of me. And so I have to ask: Will you marry me?"

The entire bridge seemed to be holding its breath waiting for Sara's answer.

"Yes," Sara breathed. "Oh my God, yes!"

Leonard, despite everyone's assurances that she wouldn't refuse, was still stunned. She said yes. She actually said yes. Leonard stood and slipped his ring onto her finger, a smile creeping over his face though he tried to fight it back.

"For the record," Sara said with a smile of her own, "I love you too, Leonard."

And she kissed him, and Leonard wondered (not for the first time) how he'd ever gotten this lucky.

And the whole team cheered.
