Christmas Day 2020. And here's how the NCIS clan celebrated:

Callen sat alone in his new apartment, havinh Zoom calls with his girlfriend, Anna. While at the same time, wishing that she was there with him, and wondering where his surrogate mother (in it's own way), Hetty, was and how she was doing.

Kensi was calling her husband Deeks, who was at FLETSC training to become an NCIS agent (thanks to Hetty). Wishing him a Merry Christmas, and both of them saing how much they missed each other.

Devin was with his sister. And thinking back at the crazy year he had had, transferring from the FBI to NCIS.

Fatima was with her family.

Sam was with his daughter and new girlfriend Katherine.

Nell was thinking of spending the day alone, missing her mom, and calling her sister. Then she decided to call Eric and invite him over. And he accepted.

And somewhere very far away, Hetty was eating. And thinking on the difficult past couple of years she had endured.

Circumstances after circumstances had pulled her away from her team for long periods of time, time and time again. 2 months ago, she had gotten a call saying that someone was after her team and that she had to leave immediately. She did, and left Nell temporally in charge.

She had no idea how long she would be where she was at. The only difference this time was that she was able to contact her team and assign them cases, while a year ago, she was not able to.

Despite being able to contact them if she wanted to, she still missed them deeply and wished she could be with them. (Plus, the Internet was often finicky.)

While drinking cheap whiskey, she thought: 'Merry Christmas everyone. I hope we can be together again soon.'
