A/N Happy birthday Celrock. This story was suggested to me by Celrock.

"What do you want to do for your birthday?" Jin asked climbing into bed.

"Nothing." Mi Sun sighed."I'm turning thirty. What's there to celebrate?"

"Ok then." Jin said turning out the light.

Just as they were drifting off to sleep, Mi Sun's phone rang. She got out of bed after ending the call and went to Ji Yeon's room.

"Is everything ok?" Jin asked standing in the hallway.

"Yeah. She just forgot her baby shark." Mi Sun answered coming into the hallway with the yellow shark plush.

She arrived at Rose's house and gave Ji Yeon her toy.

The next day Ji Yeon arrived home running a fever. She spent the day on the couch with her baby shark, at least until she threw up on it.

"Sorry mommy." Ji Yeon apalagized as Mi Sun took the plush and the blanket and put them in the washer. Luckily by this time Ji Yeon had outgrown the song and they never bothered to replace the batteries when they ran out when she was three.

When bedtime came Ji Yeon was to sick and tired to even care that her baby shark plush wasn't dry yet. She slept without for the first time.

The next day Mi Sun was in a hurry while putting the laundry away in Ji Yeon's room and hastily folded the pink blanket Ji Yeon had thrown up on and put it in her closet, not realizing that the baby shark was stuck inside one of the folds.

One night Ji Yeon was cold and not feeling well once again. She went to her closet and pulled down the soft pink blanket she used when she got sick. Something fell out onto her bed when she spread the blanket out on top of her. She picked it up and found that it was her baby shark plush. She hadn't seen it in a few days and hugged it close.

The next morning Ji Yeon woke up and went to the kitchen. She found her mother standing by the counter staring at her favorite coffee cup, the one that was a Hello Kitty face. Ji Yeon stepped back as she watched her mother angrily shove the cup off the counter letting it crash to the floor in a ton of tiny pieces. Ji Yeon wondered why her mother did this if she loved that cup. She watched as Mi Sun began to cry and clean up the mess. Once that was done she grabbed a plain white cup and hurridly wiped away her tears.

Ji Yeon stepped into the kitchen when Mi Sun sat down at the table.

"Do you want some breakfast?" MI Sun asked when she heard Ji Yeon approach.

Ji Yeon nodded still to shocked to talk after what she had seen.

"Want to come over after school?" Rose asked as they colored pictures after snack time.

"I can't. I have to get my mom a present for her birthday on Sunday.

"What are you going to get her?" Dil asked reaching for a green crayon.

"I don't know." Ji Yeon sighed.

"What does she like?" Rose asked.

"She used to like Hello Kitty, but I don't think she does anymore." Ji Yeon told them.

She had a present planned out, but didn't think her mom would like it now.

After school Jin picked up the kids and they went to the mall.

Ji Yeon watched as everyone picked out a gift. By the time it was time to leave she still had no idea what to get her mother.

"You still have those?" Jin asked peering over Mi Sun's shoulder at a bin full of small Hello Kitty plushies.

"Yes." Mi Sun said jumping and hurrying to close the lid."But I think I should let them go now."

"Why?" Jin asked."For as long as I've known you, you always loved Hello Kitty."

Mi Sun sighed before answereing."Because I feel weird for liking something that's for kids when I'm about to turn thirty."

"You have a cup, a pair of pajama pants, a pair of socks, and a bin full of stuffed animals. That's not that much, and if it makes you happy then that's all that matters." Jin reasoned."Besides there's plenty of Hello Kitty stuff that's for adults."

"Thanks." Mi Sun smiled, feeling slightly better as she put the bin back in the closet.

"Are you ready for your sleepover with Rose?" Jin asked the next morning at breakfast. Both he and Mi Sun had to work overnight so they had arranged a sleepover for the girls.

"Not really." Ji Yeon admitted."I still don't have a present for mommy."

"I'll pick you up from the sleepover and then we can find somthing together." Jin promised making Ji Yeon feel better.

Later on that night the girls were watching a movie when Ji Yeon realized that she had forgotten her baby shark at home. She couldn't call one of her parents to bring it to her this time though.

"Let's watch a scary movie now." Dil suggested.

"Rose doesn't like scary movies and this is her house." Ji Yeon reminded him.

"Yeah. Let's watch Titanic instead." Rose suggested standing up and putting the movie on.

The movie was a nice distraction for Ji Yeon. She fell asleep as soon as it was over, not even thinking about her baby shark.

"How was the sleepover?" Jin asked when he picked Ji Yeon up the next morning.

"Fun." Ji Yeon answered buckling her seatbelt."I even slept without my baby shark."

"That's good." Jin told her as they drove to the store.

"I wanted to get mommy this since her other one got broke." Ji Yeon said picking up a box with a Hello Kitty cup and hot chocolate inside."But I don't think she likes Hello Kitty anymore."

"I think she will like it." Jin assured her."Especially coming from you."

"Ok." Ji Yeon said still a bit uncertian if her gift was good enough.

"So you don't want to do anything today?" Jin asked Mi Sun as they lay in bed, not ready to get up yet.

"No. I told you. I don't." Mi Sun sighed.

"She won't get out of bed." Jin said when Miju entered the house with a small rectangular bag in her hand.

"Don't worry. I'll get her out." Miju assured him.

Miju walked into the bedroom to find Mi Sun buried under the blanket. She pulled it aside and said."Come on. Get up."

"No." Mi Sun argued pulling the blanket back over her head.

Miju hopped onto the bed next to her sister."I turned forty this year and you don't see me crying about it."

"Who said I was crying?" Mi Sun asked peaking out from under the blanket."I wasn't crying. I just don't want to celebrate this year."

"Uh your face tells me you've been crying, and your family does want to celebrate so get your butt out of bed and go celebrate with them and me. I don't just take off work for anyone." Miju urged her."Plus I brought wine, a very special wine, just for you, but if you want to spend your birthday alone in the dark then fine."

"You brought wine?" Mi Sun asked sitting up.

"Yep. So get dressed or just wear whatever you have on and let's go." Miju said getting off the bed.

Mi Sun followed her sister out into the living room still in her pajamas that she wore to bed the previous night.

They sat on the couch and Miju handed Mi Sun her gift.

She opened it to reveal a pink bottle with Hello Kitty on it.

"They make Hello Kitty wine?" Mi Sun asked examining the bottle.

"I guess, and it's limited edition." Miju said.

"I think you should open Ji Yeon's gift next." Jin said.

Ji Yeon stepped forward and handed her mother a wrapped box.

"It's perfect." Mi Sun cried opening the box and taking the cup with the Hello Kitty face on it out.

Miju opened the bottle of wine and poured some into the coffee cup.

"That's really good." Mi Sun commented taking another sip.

"Can I try some?" Ji Yeon asked.

"When your older. This is only for grown ups." Mi Sun told her.

"See. I told you adults can like Hello Kitty too." Jin said.

Later that night a thunderstorm hit waking Ji Yeon up. She was about to go to her parents room like she normally would but then remembered her baby shark that was still in the closet where she had put him when Rose and Dil came over to play one afternoon. She picked it up and held it close feeling comfoted enough to sleep through the storm.

"Are you sure you want to give them to her?" Jin asked carrying the bin into the living room.

"If she wants them." Mi Sun answered following behind.

Jin set the bin in front of the couch where Ji Yeon was sitting.

"What's in there?" Ji Yeon asked.

"Something for you, if you want them." Mi Sun told her.

Ji Yeon opened the lid and saw all of the little plushies.

"They're so cute." She said picking one up.

"That was actually the last one I got." Mi Sun told her taking the Hello Kitty dressed in a pink footsie pajama outfit and a light pink bow on its ear."I got this when we found out we were having you. It even has a rattle inside."

"What's this one from?" Ji Yeon asked picking one up dressed in a green and pink hanbok.

"That was my first one. I got it on my first birthday from your auntie." Mi Sun explained.

Ji Yeon and Mi Sun spent the rest of the afternoon looking and telling stories about the Hello Kitty plushies. In the end Ji Yeon decided to keep them in her room where Mi Sun could still see them anytime she wanted to.
