Linda quietly tipped toed into the room. The pregnant woman could see that Jean was still asleep and released a sigh of relief. She made her way over to Marie who was still fast asleep and snoring. Linda chuckled to herself she was surprised that the red haired woman could manage to sleep through Marie's loud snoring. The woman then noticed that Jean was sleeping with headphones on. 'My goodness! She snores louder than Hank,' Linda thought to herself and began to shake her sister in-law in hopes of waking her up.

Marie groaned loudly and frowned when she saw Linda trying to wake her up, "What?!"

Linda shushed her and told her that there was a family meeting downstairs. The young college girl rolled her eyes and threw off her blankets. The two women quietly left the room and closed the door behind them.

"I hope there will be some breakfast at this meeting," Marie mumbled as they descended down the stairs.

"Okay that's everyone," Hank confirmed after doing a head count.

"So, what's so important that we need to have a meeting at-" she paused to look at the time on her iPhone and groaned, " 7 in the morning?"

Marie was annoyed to be up this early. She was hoping to sleep in everyday on her winter break.

"Jean does not feel welcomed here," Logan began. "Y'all need to understand that I care very much for this woman and I really want this Christmas to be a special one for her."

Scott and Hank made a mental note that Logan used the word care instead of love when he talked about how he felt for Jean.

The women in the room however all looked at each other and noted that Logan said special.

"Special as in because this is her first Christmas with us?" Linda asked her brother in-law.

"Or special as in you have something important to ask her?" Moira asked taking Charles' hand.

Logan smiled at his parents and asked, "And y'all thought you'd never see me get hitched?"

Logan embraced his parents who all seemed over the moon about this news. Hank, Scott, and Marie were all just really surprised.

"You can't be serious?" Marie was the first one out of her siblings to react. "Logan, you haven't even known her for very long. Yesterday, was day one of her being with us and it was a catastrophe. Mom, she broke grandma's vase. She yelled at Jubilee. I shared a room with the woman and let me tell you she snores like a banshee."

"Marie I know you might not like her now," Logan began. "But you really need to give her a chance and maybe even back off abit okay?"

Everyone knew Marie was notorious for giving others a hard time with her snarky remarks. Hell even Linda recalled a time when she wasn't so fond of her when she was dating Hank.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Marie crossed her arms.

"As I was saying before, yeah I want this Christmas to be special for her and yeah I plan on asking her to marry me," Logan cleared his throat. "And so far it's been a crappy one. I know Jean got off on the wrong foot with everyone, but now y'all know that she is going to be a part of this family. So Marie be nice. Last night Jean was so upset that she cried and called her sister. Her sister is coming down now to spend Christmas with Jean."

Everyone processed what Logan was saying and took it in.

"She called her sister," Marie scoffed.

Logan gave her a warning look that enough was enough. Marie did the hand gesture that her mouth would be closed from here on out.

"So, today's a new day!" Scott smiled and patted his big brother's back.

Marie's room

When Jean woke up she was surprised to see that Rogue wasn't there. Jean was relieved she could get ready for the day in peace. Jean looked in the mirror as she finished braiding her long red hair. A knock at the door earned her attention. Logan was at the door.

"Good morning Jeanie," Logan said giving her a kiss. Jean kissed him back.

"So, Ororo will be arriving at the bus station downtown at 5. The girls and I could get her but I just remembered that I promised Linda that I would help her and Moira cook," Jean realized this could be a problem.

"Don't worry about it Jeanie," Logan smiled. "Hank and I will be in the downtown area so we can pick her up."

"Oh why are you guys going to downtown?" Jean asked.

Logan cursed under his breath. He and his big brother were going to go ring shopping, but he couldn't tell Jean that. So he lied.

"Freakin' Hank want to go to some bookstore," Logan lied.

"You're going to a bookstore? With Hank?" this didn't make sense to Jean.

But before she or Logan could say another word, Marie was making her way towards them.

"Good morning Jean," Marie greeted in a fake cheery tone. "Breakfast is ready. I am just going to get ready for our Target run okay."

Jean gave Logan a bewildered look, "What was that?"

"That was Marie trying to be nice to you," Logan said. "I talked to her."

"My hero," Jean joked as she and her boyfriend started to go downstairs for breakfast.

Jean made her self a plate and sat in a chair next to an empty chair for Logan. But to her shock someone else decided to sit next to her. It was Jubilee.

"I like your Elsa braid," the young smiled admiring the older woman's hairstyle for the day."Can you give me and Elsa braid?"

Jean nodded and was happy to do so. She wondered did Logan give her the same talk that he gave Marie.

"I guess someone took my spot," Logan joked as he looked at his niece who grinned back at him. Logan's attention was drawn to the mail on the entryway table.

"Jean, would you like some orange juice?" Scott asked the redhead. Jean nodded yes. "You know I had a dream about you."

Jean was shocked by the man's statement and accidentally tugged the young girl's hair. Jean quickly apologized to the young girl and finished her braid. The woman then got her plate and left the table. She felt very uncomfortable by her boyfriend's brother's remark.

She quickly made her way to Logan who was looking at a Christmas card with Moira. Jean looked at the Christmas card it was from the LeBeaus.

"Oh my that family is so sweet," Moira smiled.

"Yeah, I haven't seen the Cajun in a long time," Logan chuckled and could see that his girlfriend had no idea who these people were. "These are the LeBeaus. Family friends." He confirmed. "And this over here is"-

"Ancient history!" Marie shouted as she came down the stairs. She could hear who they were talking about and she did not want to hear anything more about Remy LeBeau her ex-boyfriend.

"Marie dear, you have to see this beautiful Christmas Card," Moira smiled. She wished her daughter and Marie had patched things up. "Looks like Remy is still single."

"Well, I'm not," Marie said. "I'm in a very serious relationship with shopping. So can we get going?"

Jean did not know much of Remy LeBeau but she could tell that he must of meant a lot to Marie since she would not even look at the Christmas card, let alone talk about him. Jean, Moira, and Linda got their coats and bags and were out the door in less than 10 minutes. On the car ride to Target, Jean kept thinking about what Scott said. She wished she had had a chance to talk to Logan about it. Perhaps it was nothing.

Downtown

Logan was leaning against the wall in the bookstore. He was waiting for Hank to finish his shopping, "You know Hank I said that we were coming here as an alibi."

Hank adjusted his glasses as he carried some books in his hand and debated about going through with what he was thinking. "Logan, I need to talk to you."

"What about furball?" Logan asked. "Let me guess you think I'm marrying Jeannie too fast?"

"As a matter of fact, yes Logan," Hank began. "Logan, I don't think marriage is the right time for you guys right now." Hank paused and knew this topic would be difficult to bring up. "I know our time with dad isn't promised but"

Logan did not want to hear it. He was a strong man, but his father's failing health was too much for him to handle. "I need a smoke."

"Logan, please listen to me," Hank started. "We all know dad isn't going to be with us for along time and he just wants you to be happy. You don't have to get married"-

"Listen furball," Logan called his big brother the nickname he used to when they were kids. "Dad has been doing a lot better this year and Jean"-

"Boy!" Hank challenged his brother. "She is not the one for you. Trust me bro, I can tell yes you two care for each other, but I really don't see how you two love each other. When I first saw Linda I could not even speak. I was awestruck."

"And I'm happy for you man, Linda is a great woman and she makes you happy," Logan said. "I'm ready to be happy and I believe Jean is the one for me."

Hank sighed he knew his brother was stubborn, but he hoped Logan was right. But somehow he had a feeling that this was not right. "If you'd ask me, I'd say Jean is more Scott's type than yours."

That statement earned Logan's full attention, "Well, she's not. She's my girl. Now are you going to help me find a ring or not?"

At home

Scott had just finished watching Disney's Frozen 2 with his niece Jubilee, who had fallen asleep next to him on the couch. He could not believe he sat through the whole corny movie, but he would do anything for his niece. He quietly left her on the couch and made his way to the kitchen to fix himself a sandwich. As Scott gathered the bread slices and PB and J, he heard a crashing sound. It sounded like it came from his dad's office. "Dad!" Scott called as he quickly made his way to his dad's office. Scott gasped when he saw the wheelchair empty and his father shaking on the floor. "I'll call 911," he announced as he began to try to help the older man up. But his father shook his no, "My medicine. I need my pills." Charles extended his arms out towards the drawer in his desk.

Scott frantically pulled open the drawer. He pulled the drawer out of the desk completely. Inside the drawer were 4 different pill containers, each with different colored lids. "Which one?"

Charles pointed at the green colored lid. Scott quickly opened it and gave the pills to his dad. After a few minutes, the older man stopped shaking and his breathing started to return back to normal. Charles looked at his son and could see the look of fear on his face.

"I'm still sick," was all that Charles said. "Don't tell the others."

Scott started to cry. He sobbed as his father continued to explain calmly, how his health was appearing to be better but had taken a turn for the worse. "If this is going to be my last Christmas. I want it to be a happy one, not a sad one."

Store

"So, is that everything?" Jean asked Linda who had suggested they make a list of everything they needed to get.

"Almost," Linda said. The four women had decided to split up in pairs to finish finding things off the list. "Hey, Linda, can I ask you something?" Jean hoped this conversation would not be too awkward. "What's Scott's deal?"

The pregnant woman listened as the other woman began to explain about what Scott said to her this morning and was beginning to question his character.

"That's really odd," Linda laughed lightly as she began to browse through some sweaters. "I mean I don't think he was coming on to you. But yeah, that is weird. Um please do not repeat what I'm about to tell you, but Scott and Logan have had tension between them before. Since they were boys and even when they were in their teens. Hank told me that Scott had a girlfriend named Emma and even though she was dating Scott she was trying to get with Logan. Logan of course wasn't interested, but Emma started a rumor that Logan wanted to be with her and apparently, they fought. But yeah, if I were you I wouldn't tell Logan."

"Oh, I wasn't planning to," Jean said.

Bus Stop

Hank and Logan had finished ring shopping much to Hank's disappointment. The two men were waiting at the bus stop for Jean's sister. When the bus pulled up, the two men were anticipating the woman's arrival. "What was her name again?" Hank asked Logan.

"Ororo," Logan said as he watched people stepping off the bus. He skimmed through the crowd looking for his girlfriend's sister. He had never met her, but Jean gave him a description of what she looked like and even sent him a picture of her in case he had trouble finding her. But the photo didn't upload in his text message. So, seeing the picture was damn near impossible.

"Ororo," Hank greeted every woman that passed by in hopes of finding their guest. Instead he received confused looks from the women. "Logan, let me see your phone make I can fix it so the picture can upload."

Logan tossed his iPhone to his brother and continued to look for Ororo. He looked and looked until finally he saw her.

Her.

"Ah ha! Here we go," Hank proudly presented the uploaded picture to his brother who didn't bother looking at the image on the phone. His gray eyes were too busy gazing at the image before him. There she was Ororo. She was a tall gorgeous woman with long hair white as snow, and eyes as blue as the sky. She was a beige cardigan and black skinny jeans with black boots. She was wearing a light brown fiddler cap and her long white hair dangled down.

"Logan?" Ororo asked Logan who seemed to not be able to speak, but could only nod.

This never happened before, Logan thought to himself.

Ororo just smiled and proceeded to step off the bus. However, she was not watching her step and stumbled forward. Fortunately, Logan was there to catch her. In that moment, the two of them. The man and the woman stared at each other. And they both felt a spark.
