A/N: I don't own Fablehaven. Enjoy. :)

Kendra sat on the floor with Bracken holding her for a while. A new guard came to the cell. He grabbed Kendra wordlessly. Bracken didn't let her go.

"Take me too. I'm not letting you take my friends."

The guard just looked at him and shrugged. Bracken was allowed to come. Kendra sighed in relief. At least she wouldn't be alone. Wherever she was going.

They just walked for a while until they got to a room where the Sphinx had Gavin. A knife to his neck.

"Release him." Kendra pleaded.

"I will when you listen to me." The Sphinx said no emotion in his voice.

"What do you want?"

"I have a mission for you and Gavin. I have found where the translocator is located and I need you to retrieve it for me."

"And if I don't?"

"Gavin dies."

Kendra's heart stopped. Would he really kill Gavin?

Gavin tried to fight the guard restraining him. "Kendra don't do it, my life isn't worth the destruction of the world." The knife was entering his throat.

"Ok!" Kendra yelled, stopping everyone in the room. "I'll do it. Let him go please."

The Sphinx nodded at the guard. Gavin was released and he ran to her. He wrapped her in the biggest hug. "Why did you agree. I could've gotten away."

Kendra shook her head. "You didn't see what I saw."

"Sorry to break this up but you need to leave immediately." The Sphinx told them.

"I agree to go on this mission. But I want Bracken to come as well. We need to be equipped with armour and weapons." Kendra said as if she had power here.

The Sphinx nodded. "Understood. Arslan will take you to our armory. There you will find all you need."

They followed the guard that brought Kendra and Bracken there. Bracken leaned down to talk to Kendra.

"Why did you want me to come?"

"I need everyone I can get. Plus I couldn't leave you here alone."

Bracken was touched that she thought of his needs. Even if they were most certainly heading to their deaths. "I promise nothing will happen to you as long as I'm around." He vowed.

"Same here. Now let's go get equipped for our mission." Kendra said hope fading from her voice.

Seth sat in a plane headed towards Australia. Warren, Vanessa, Trask, Mara, Elise, Tanu, and some guy named Vincent were all here as well. Grandpa said it was wise to have numbers so we could all defend each other. Grandma had reluctantly let Vanessa come. Warren said he would watch her and make sure she didn't betray us. Tanu said he would as well. Seth trusted her though so he wasn't worried.

Trask walked up to the front of the cabin. "Alright everyone We are about halfway there. Does everyone remember the plan?"

Warren sighed. "Yes Trask we remember from the last time you made us recite the plan."

Seth smiled. Warren was so over Trask being nervous.

"Tell me what it is then Burgess."

"Plan A is we get there before Kendra jump them, and take her back. Plan B is they get there before us and we follow them until we catch up."

Trask looked shocked that Warren actually remembered the plan. "Good job for paying attention." He sat back down.

Seth snickered and looked at Warren's smug face. We winked at him.

Tanu was sitting next to him sleeping so Seth walked over to Warren. "Do you think we will see her?"

"I sincerely hope so Seth. I miss her too." Warren said.

Seth nodded and walked back to his seat. He wanted to give his sister a hug. He hoped she was alright wherever she was.

Kendra, Gavin, and Bracken arrived at Obsidian Waste ahead of schedule. Luckily there was a car waiting for them. A young man greeted them saying his name was Berrigan.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." He said.

"Thank you for accepting our request to retrieve the artifact to rehide it." Bracken said following the script the Sphinx gave them.

"No thank you for offering. The artifacts are so important to us." Berrigan said.

Kendra smiled sweetly. "Can we head to the preserve. It's so hot out here."

"Of course. Hop in."

He drove them through a gate that very clearly had a distractor spell since everyone else looked uncomfortable. When they got through the three men released a sigh. Kendra sighed as well to hide the fact that she was immune to its effects. The main house was located near the front gate. Kendra could see a huge brick of Obsidian.

They pulled up to the main house. They were greeted by a woman who's name was Lauren. Kendra asked an obvious question. "Is that the vault?"

Lauren looked over to it and smiled. "Yes that is the vault. Isn't it marvelous."

Kendra tried to smile but couldn't. Anything could be in there. What were they walking into.

Lauren offered them dinner and a room to sleep in for the night so they could start fresh that morning. They all accepted fearing what tomorrow would bring.

A/N: Hello Everyone. I had an idea for this so I decided to write another chapter. Don't get too excited though because I don't know when I'll be able to upload again. Special thanks to Yakall and NaoSa for reviewing. I love reading them. Until next time bye.
