Disclaimer: I don't own The Mandalorian.

Grogu gazed out through the windshield in front of him as planets and stars zipped by the spacecraft he was travelling in. The one-man ship he was aboard was carrying him deep into space - and far away from the closest figure he'd ever had to a father.

The tiny green creature thought back on the journey he'd been on with the Mandalorian. He could hardly believe it was now over for the two of them.

He and Din Djarin had been through a lot together. They had travelled far across the Galaxy, visiting strange worlds, encountering unusual characters and fighting for their own survival on intense errands.

Through it all, the two of them had stuck together. The Mandalorian had never left Grogu's side. The bounty hunter had gone out of his way to deliver the powerful young creature to the Jedi. He had taken good care of the Child, seeing that no harm came to him and protecting him with his life along the way.

Now they had just found the Jedi, so the time had come for the two of them to part ways. Grogu had been reluctant to say goodbye the warrior who had been like a father figure to him, Din had given his blessing for the Child to leave him to complete his training. They had shared an emotional farewell - during which the Mandalorian willingly removed his helmet to look upon his little friend one final time.

Now his days with his guardian were behind him - and his days with his Jedi Master were about to begin. Grogu lifted his petite head to gaze up at the figure he was going with. The Child was sitting on his lap, as it was the only place he could be seated inside the small cockpit.

Although he was concentrating on piloting his X-Wing, the Jedi couldn't help but steal a glance at the tiny creature. A glint appeared in the young human's eyes as he peered wistfully down at his new student.

"You remind me of someone I know..." he said thoughtfully. "Someone very powerful with the Force like you are ... who just so happened to teach me how to become a Jedi..."

Grogu twitched his pointed ears and tilted his head as he gazed up at the Jedi. For someone so youthful, he appeared wise beyond his young years. It was clear he had proven himself to be a true Jedi Knight."

"I will see that you get the best training you can from me..."

The Jedi lifted his head to gaze out into the starlit-abyss of space. He appeared to be communicate with someone with someone who the Child did not yet process the ability to see or hear.

"I promise I'll make you proud, Master Yoda..."

The young Jedi closed his blue eyes, feeling the Force flowing through him. He had come a long way from being a young farm boy with only the skills of piloting and moisturising. Now he had followed in the footsteps of his late father. Not the entire path he had walked, however, for it had diverted onto a dark route he had steered clear of. Now that he had completed his journey to become a Jedi, it was time to teach all he had learned to someone about to walk the same path as him.

Feeling some movements in his lap, the young Jedi glanced down towards his new student. Grogu had curled up into his lap, drifting off to sleep. Smiling at how sweet the Child looked, he turned some dials as he continued to pilot his ship.

"Artoo!" he called out to the astromech at the back of the craft. "Set our course for the Jedi Temple..."

The blue droid bleeped in reply as he did what his master ordered. Blasts of energy thundered out of the X-Wings four thrusters as it rocketed away deep into the Galaxy. It was heading off to the little-known planet that served as the secret location of the Jedi Temple.

There, Grogu was to begin his training under the instruction of the legendary Jedi who restored peace and order to the Galaxy...

...who was none other than Luke Skywalker.
