A couple of hours later the girls had stopped talking, much to the queen's delight. Despite them being lovely fairies, they could easily talk your ears off and Clarion had been their victim. A cold wind swept through the empty cave, bringing some of the rain inside aswell. A gush of rain washed over the girls, making them scream and groan out in disgust, moving their now soaked hair away from their face they turned to look at their amused, giggling queen.

Clarion immediately stopped giggling once she noticed the girls' annoyed glares, clearing her throat the queen smiled at them apologetically "Are you girls alright?" she asked in a soothing voice to regain her composure. The girls nodded in response as they tried their best to dry themselves off once again, Silvermist being the only one who actually enjoyed the water.

Another cold wind swept through the cold and wet cave only this time Queen Clarion had stopped the water from hitting her fairies by using her water talent, which was much more advanced than a normal water talents'. The girls watched with both shock and amazement as the water seemed almost familiar with the queen, like an old friend yet it listened to her like she were its master.

Lowering the water back inside a small pond, Clarion smiled lightly before turning back to her fairies and giving them a sly smirk. Vidia huffed "Couldn't you have done that the first time queenie?" Clarion sighed at the fast flyer "I wasn't fast enough the first time. My excuses." she replied in her regal manner, despite feeling very irritated with her comment. As did Tinkerbell, she could put up with quite a bit from her raven-haired friend but disrespecting the queen even though she just helped you was crossing the line "Or just be grateful?" the young tinker snapped, shocking all of her friends and Queen Clarion herself.

Vidia rolled her eyes "What are you, a guard dog?" she crossed her arms tightly over her chest as the blonde got closer "No! I'm just sick of the way you treat Queen Clarion when she has done nothing but be nice and care for all of us, tell me one thing she has done except breath!" By now Tinkerbell's face had turned as red as a tomato, while Clarion still watched with shock as the fast flyer silenced "Exactly! So what is your problem?" she demanded in an angry tone that stunned Vidia aswell as the others.

Before the now enraged fast flyer could answer the queen stopped both girls with a stern yell "Girls!" a discreet silence erupted as everyone turned to Queen Clarion "Calm yourselves! Tinkerbell, Vidia, we're going to be stuck here for at least the rest of the night. We can solve this when we get back to Pixie Hollow but for now, let's not start fighting." Vidia huffed and sat back down against a rock as Tinkerbell nodded respectfully and sat next to the other girls.

It didn't take long before the group of young fairies once again began chatting, even though there was an awkward tension between Tinkerbell and Vidia, their friends didn't seem to mind as they had gotten used to it over time. "It's getting cold.." Fawn shivered lightly as she crossed her arms tightly over her chest, the other girls nodded in agreement and slowly started huddling up together for warmth. Clarion now had her arms crossed aswell, she couldn't just let her poor fairies get sick like this, that's exactly what she wanted to prevent.

Her sapphire eyes scanned around the cave and eventually landed on a couple of dry branches and leaves, she let out a small hum and slowly walked towards them. The girls became silent once more as they watched the queen bend down and pick up a couple of dry branches before placing them in front of the girls. Vidia quirked an eyebrow at the monarch who merely glanced at the raven girl, she slowly held out her hands towards the branches and within a couple of seconds, bright red fire spurted from her hands onto the wood.

Golden flames erupted along the glowing ruby fire, a light grey smoke followed not long after. The elegant flames reflected inside the young girls' eyes as they watched with admiration, never in their lives had they seen or heard of a fire talent! Only the most talented light talents had ever been able to create a lasting fire through their magic, fire talents had never even existed to their knowledge. The Queen tried her best to suppress a chuckle, she had hardly ever used her magic in front of anyone including her few close friends and loving husband.

"Fire?" Iridessa muttered, she simply couldn't believe it. "You can make fire, actual fire?" Tinkerbell allowed her wings to flutter ever so slightly as she, followed by the other girls turned to Queen Clarion. "Yes I can." She gave them a small approving nod. "How?" Vidia, nonchalantly asked, Clarion smiled apologetically "I don't know, I have always had the power to manipulate and create fire." she explained before quietly walking back towards the same wall she had been standing against earlier, despite having cold herself she did not want to disturb the girls.

"Aren't you cold, Queen Clarion?" Fawn's voice had a caring, almost concerned tone to it as she softly spoke towards the monarch. "A little but I'll be fine sweetheart." she reassured the animal talent with a kind smile, though her body language told them something completely different. "Are you sure sugar?" Rosetta wasn't dumb either, she knew that the queen was simply trying to act stronger than she was. "Very much so."

"Well we'd love it if you'd come sit with us!" Silvermist smiled happily at the regal figure who seemed to be touched by what she said but remained unsure "Oh.. I-" before she could give another excuse, Tinkerbell interrupted "Please your highness!" the other girls turned to her with begging looks. The queen awkwardly rubbed her hands together "I- sure..." she gave in, the girls' smiles grew wider than before. It wasn't often that you got stuck somewhere with the queen of all fairies, let alone have her sit beside you!

Queen Clarion slowly sat down against a wall, unlike the other girls she sat just a bit further away but this didn't matter to her subjects. Even though the queen was now in a much more casual setting, she knew she had to remain regal at all costs therefore she sat with one hand resting in her lap whilst she leaned on the other and put weight on her hip.

Vidia was the only one who hadn't really cared all that much about her, not that this came as a surprise to Clarion. It often made her wonder why Vidia seemed to dislike her so much, but then again not everyone likes everyone in life and maybe that was the case with Vidia.

Tinkerbell smiled, Queen Clarion seemed much more like a normal fairy when she wasn't surrounded by her always panicking ministers or her busy work. Suddenly a thought came to her mind "Queen Clarion?" the queen lifted up her head and gave the girl a sweet smile "Yes?" Tink looked the queen up and down, this made Clarion frown lightly "If your dress is made of pixie dust, then why didn't it wash off in the rain?" the other girls thought for a moment before turning to their queen with confused expressions.

Clarion chuckled at the fairies "well for one, my dress is simply made out of a calla lily flower and the pixie dust is just my magic, nothing more than an illusion. Second, I doubt it'd be a good idea for me to wear a dress that would simply disappear whenever it rained, though it'd be quite the show." the girls giggled at her answer, they were surprised for sure "So.. It's just a calla lily dress? Not that that isn't pretty of course! It's just that I always thought it was made out of real pixie dust." the Tinker struggled to find the right words as she spoke apologetically.

The queen nodded lightly "It's all just a simple flower." she confirmed. Silvermist gasped "ooh! It must be wonderful to be queen.." The comment was random but the other girls agreed, even Vidia. Clarion remained silent and looked at the beaming fire before her, eventually the girls frowned and turned towards her awaiting an answer. "Well queenie, tongue stuck in your throat?" Vidia made another snarky comment that wasn't well received by Tinkerbell who harshly nudged the fast flyer.

Clarion allowed a sigh to escape her lips "I suppose so." she answered plainly, not letting her eyes leave the fire. Rosetta pondered over whether or not to ask a rather serious question for a while, eventually she couldn't help it anymore "You don't like being queen..?" she asked, slightly unsure of the way she worded her question.

The queen was taken back by her question, she never meant for it to look as if she hated her job or anything like such. "Oh dear, it's not that I don't like my job as queen! It's just that it's not always as wonderful as it may sound." Clarion knew that every one of her subjects thought her life was oh so perfect, even though it was far from that.

Vidia scoffed lightly "What could possibly be so hard about being queen? Everyone adores you, obeys you, looks up to you and you can do no wrong because no one would dare to speak up to you." as much as her friends wanted to disagree with the fast flyer, she had a good point for once. Clarion could slowly feel her heart become heavier, there was something about her ignorant comment that she managed to take at heart.

"Vidia, when you go outside you're seen as Vidia. Correct?" she asked with a grim look on her face, one that none of the girls had ever seen. Vidia slowly nodded her head along, she couldn't see what the question was supposed to mean "Right, now when you see me. Do you think of Clarion or Queen Clarion?" the girls thought for a while, none dared to speak up "Queen Clarion..?" Zarina stated, the queen nodded before carefully taking off her golden tiara "who do you see now, Clarion or Queen Clarion?" Zarina bit her lip lightly "Queen Clarion.."

The queen nodded and placed the glowing tiara back on her head "Exactly, no matter how I look you'll always see Queen Clarion, the ruler of pixie hollow who hardly ever does fun stuff, the ruler who hardly appears for her subjects. You won't ever see me for me, you'll see the character that I created to.. Hide behind, I guess you could say." the girls became silent, they had never thought of it before and they most definitely should have.

"Then... What's Clarion like?" Tinkerbell smiled at the queen, it felt odd and almost illegal to call her queen by her first name only. Queen Clarion merely raised an eyebrow at the Tinker "sweetheart, why would you be interested in knowing that?" the blonde smiled "I don't know, I'm curious." she smiled brightly at the monarch "Well.. Clarion is much different from Queen Clarion, she prefers not to be in the spotlight for everything, she isn't the biggest fan of jewelry and dresses and likes practicing her magic." The queens cheeks were flushed, she never really talked about herself like that.

Silvermist giggled "Doesn't Clarion ever get lonely?" she asked, her dark brown eyes concerned as ever, she couldn't imagine not having her friends by her side all the time like she did. "She does, sometimes." Clarion faked a smile, it was a bit of a shock to the girls, the queen getting lonely wasn't something you'd expect to happen ever! The surprise only showed how they judged a fairy for their title, not that the queen could blame them.

"What about your friends, sugar?" Clarion laughed "Fairy Mary and Lord Milori get busy rather often." she answered with a reassuring smile "You don't have any other friends?" Vidia asked, shocked by her own question "Well.. No.. Not really." The fast flyer looked down for a moment, she could hardly believe it "What about the ministers?" Iridessa added "If you want an honest answer, The ministers and I were very close but they couldn't see past the title, I gave up on trying and realized that it was for the best."

The girls felt horrible for their queen, everyone in pixie hollow had forgotten that despite the title, she was still a fairy with feelings and a life of her own.

"Queen Clarion, what do you do when you have no one to talk to?" Fawn's curiosity spoke for her "I usually do my paperwork or go check up on the seasons to see if everything is running smoothly and if you girls haven't done anything." she answered with a glowing smile on her face, the girls' faces grew red with embarrassment as they giggled at the queens comment.

Clarion gazed down at the stone surface beneath them, unsure of what else to do or say to the young fairies. Taking a deep breath, tinkerbell managed to speak "Don't you get mad at Lord Milori for not spending a lot of time with you?" The queen raised her head once more and turned to look at the young Tinker fairy "Of course not, we spent as much time together as we can. If anything, he's the person I spent the most time with, whenever he has free time he will spent it with me. I have no reason to get mad at him."

Vidia scoffed lightly "This is worse than hours of Rosetta complaining about Sled." Clarion laughed along with the fast flyers friends "you're welcome." she replied whilst raising her eyebrow in amusement.

Tinkerbell bit her lip lightly, meaning she had a new question to ask. She glanced at the monarch who sat somewhat beside her, once Clarion turned her head to look at the tinker she laughed lightly "Yes Sweetheart?" Tinkerbells cheeks lit up a light shade of pink at the realization "I was just wondering if you knew any old fairytales you could tell us about?" the queen frowned "Do I look that old to you?" she asked jokingly, much to the other girls' surprise "Oh no, that not what I meant your highness! I just wanted to see if you knew any and-" Tink continued to ramble on an apology untill Queen Clarion placed a loving hand on her shoulder "I'm only joking dear, I am in fact that old."

The young fairies beside them started giggling along as Tinkerbell's cheeks lit up once more, only this time a deep crimson shade. "However, I believe it should be around time you girls go to sleep for now. It is most likely already close to midnight, judging by the moon." she spoke to the young girls in a motherly manner, the fairies groaned lightly "I apologize for ruining your fun girls, but I rather not have you go back to Pixie Hollow looking like you haven't slept in centuries" Rosetta let out a sharp gasp "I can't go back looking like that! What will Sled think?" she exclaimed with worry before resting her hand over her chest.

"Calm down Ro, you look like that either way. He won't see a difference." Vidia said with an insulting tone and one of her eyebrows raised with amusement. Clarion sternly glared at the fast flyer "Vidia." she said plainly. Queen Clarions actions made everyone go silent, they knew she could handle a lot of Vidia's nonsense but hardly ever spoke so shortly and sternly.

"You girls should get some rest." the queen said before standing up once more, Fawn frowned "Aren't you going to sleep?" she asked while watching the queen fix her dress "I suppose I will stay up, to make sure you girls are safe." the girls hesitantly nodded, none were very sure how they would manage to fall asleep.

The girls exchanged glances with both eachother and the queen, she didn't seem to think of anything either. Suddenly Tinkerbells face lit up, frowning lightly the queen raised a questioning eyebrow at the young girl. "Queen Clarion, maybe you could sing for us?" slowly every one of the girls turned their heads towards her. The queen let out an uncomfortable giggle before clearing her throat "I'm really not sure if-" as usual, she was quickly cut off by Tinkerbell "Please your highness, it'd mean a lot to us!"

With a deep sigh Queen Clarion gave in "Very well.." the girls shared excited looks, there were many rumors about the monarch having an angel like voice when she sang, though no one had ever heard it. Vidia groaned once more "Really?" she rolled her eyes as Clarion sat in between the girls and slowly pulled them more towards her. Eventually the fast flyers friends sat cuddled with the queen, whom calmly stroked through their hair. Then all of them turned to Vidia, the raven haired huffed in response "there is no way." she plainly stated with her arms crossed before her.

Clarion allowed a small smile to grow on her face "Cmon Vidia." she teased the young girl who tried her best not to seem bothered by it "Vidia" she mused the name with a small melody, after a while of Queen Clarion teasing the young girl, Vidia shot her a nasty look. "You're really not gonna join?" the queen asked, unbothered by her rude attitude "No thanks, Queenie" she scowled the monarchs nickname, with one last eyeroll the queen nodded "Join for me? Please?" Clarion smiled innocently at the already exhausted girl "Please?" she repeated once more, this time she got a loud groan as response "Fine! But if any of you ever speak of this." she growled at the bunch. "Yes, yes we're aware. You'll deny it and call us a bunch of roaches." Fawn spoke up and laughed lightly, followed by the rest.

"Ugh." was the only response coming from Vidia. Queen Clarion smiled at the fast flyer, for once it wasn't a regal smile, it was a real one. The kind smile was different from any they had ever seen on the monarchs face, her lips arched upwards sharply, her eyes grew and nose scrunched up ever so slightly. Vidia sat down, still further away than Clarion had liked. The queen grabbed her by the arm and without a second thought pulled her to sit beside her, Vidia sighed "This is the closest you'll ever get me." The queen nodded in understanding and kept a small smirk on her face.

"Any song suggestions?" Queen Clarion asked, looking down at the girls. None of them spoke up, they hadn't payed much attention to music as it didn't have anything to do with their talents. Tinkerbell shook her head "we don't know any" Clarion made a small 'oh' sound and nodded her head before taking a moment to think, surely she knew something. Suddenly the queen cleared her throat "I know a song that was played at my coronation, if you girls would like?" she hesitantly asked, she was quickly reassured by the girls' excited nods. Well she got a shrug from Vidia which Clarion knew would be the best she'd get from the fast flyer.

"Right.." she paused for a few seconds to remember the exact lyrics. She made sure the girls got into a comfortable position before starting to hum a charming melody.

"Over on the hill,There grows a flower." her voice had a calming and soothing tone, the song started out rather softly and eventually grew to be more sharp.

"Growing quicker still,

More perfect by the hour

Deep within that flower is a tiny chair.

All a-fringed with gold,

The fairy queen sits there" The girls' faces lit up and stared up at their queen with admiration.

The queen continued to hum a bit, the girls guessed this was her attempt to fill in where different instruments would have played.

"It is in her breath," she continued on whilst running her long fingers through the hair of her subjects.

"That the wind does blow.

It is in her heart,as pure as winter snow.

It is in her tears

Crystal raindrops fall" Clarion smiled as she watched the girls' eyes close slowly and their bodies relax.

"And within her years

That she is in us all" the queen took a breath before continuing to sing with her angelic voice.

"Oh dark eyes,

Help me see,

Just one look,

She is gone,

Look on me,

We are one,

Fading with the setting sun.." This time she hummed a more peaceful melody, way longer than the one before it.

"As the willow bows,

To her majesty,

All the forest flowers,

Love her mystery" slowly the girls grew more and more tired, the peaceful yet powerful singing of their queen rang through their ears like small ringing bells.

"Who would not admire

Who could not adore

Who does not desire,

Who wishes to see more?" when Queen Clarion looked down, she noticed that two of her fairies had already fallen asleep, that being Iridessa and Silvermist.

"Oh dark eyes

Help me see

Just one look

She is gone

Look on me

We are one" that verse especially reminded the queen of herself and the pixie dust tree back home, therefore it was undoubtedly her favorite part.

"Fading with the setting sun

Fading with the setting sun

Fading with the setting sun.." slowly Clarion ended her song, every girl had seemingly fallen into a deep sleep. Glancing at Vidia, she noticed that the usually rude and grumpy fast flyer had a peaceful smile plastered on her face.

Queen Clarion scanned through the group of fairies once more before quietly and carefully moving away from the girls untill she eventually stood before them. The young fairies layed down, cuddled up together, each and every one of them fast asleep.

With a deep sigh, the queen managed to get hold of a few dry leafs. She knew that it'd only end up getting colder in the night, the fire would help but not much. Since Clarion didn't have anything to stitch them together with, she decided to simply lay them over the girls and hope she wouldn't wake them up again.

The girls cuddled up together in their sleep, enjoying the little bit of warmth that the leafs gave off. Queen Clarion didn't mind not sleeping for the night, she knew she'd be tired in the morning but she couldn't and wouldn't let anything happen to her dear fairies. Whilst flying away from the young girls, she gazed towards the moon, there was no noise anywhere near. Not a sound. And though most people would find it unsettling, it calmed her down quite a bit.

The queen allowed herself to sit down once more, this time at the edge of the strange cave. Her feet dangled off the edge as her eyes scanned the landscape before her. The rain had stopped by now, though there was still a freezing cold wind that breezed through the monarchs golden locks of hair. The calming silence was definitely something she had needed for awhile now, a break from her busy royal duties and the stress that followed along.

However, this beautiful silence didn't last long. When she heard a small voice call out to her, Queen Clarion jumped with shock. Quickly turning around, her eyes met those of the young tinker fairy "Tinkerbell?" she asked, Clarion could've sworn that the blonde had fallen asleep in her arms earlier next to her friends. "I didn't fall asleep yet" the young girl smiled innocently at the elder.

The queen laughed lightly "I figured." the tinker blushed at her comment before sitting down beside her queen "Are you really going to stay up all night?" Clarion nodded her head softly "Someone has to stay up and ensure your safety." the blonde looked up at the monarch with concern "Won't you be tired?" the queen smiled "I'm sure I'll be fine sweetheart." Tinkerbell nodded.

The two sat in a comfortable silence for a while, until Tink shot her head upwards and looked at Clarion "I'll stay up with you then! So you don't get lonely" she stated with pride. Though her suggestion shocked the queen, Clarion smiled "Alright, if you wish to do so" she shook her head with amusement, Tinkerbell frowned at her actions.

Clarion looked at the tinker "I hardly doubt you'll be able to stay up all night darling." the queen spoke softly "I will." Tink proudly lift her head up in the air "Right."

Another silence ran through the air, while Tinkerbell sat playing with multiple rocks and small leafs, Queen Clarion thought about Pixie Hollow. As much as she hated to admit it, she missed all of it, her busy work and the stressed ministers. She truly couldn't live without it, at the same time she wondered whether the ministers actually cared for her disappearance. Surely they would look worried, worried about who would be their leader, worried about how they should bring the seasons and worried about how to work without the queen. They didn't care about Clarion personally, let alone the other girls.

At least Queen Clarion had Lord Milori and Fairy Mary. The only two people who had believed in her and helped her through the tough times in life. The thought of those two honestly made her feel happy and safe.

When Tinkerbell placed down her rocks, she noticed how silent her queen had gotten. When she turned her head to look at the monarch, she was pleased to see a peaceful figure, smiling at the moon. Yet something still bothered her, she didn't want to ruin her queens mood but she simply couldn't keep it for herself "Queen Clarion?" Clarion broke out of her trance and nodded towards the girl "During the time you and Lord Milori seperated.. You must've felt horrible but why didn't you ever tell us? When one of my friends gets sad, we all help to make them feel better!"

The queen looked down for a moment "Sweetheart.. I don't really know what to say. I grew up being taught that showing emotions wasn't a royal thing to do, especially for a queen." Tinkerbell looked shocked at the monarch, she simply thought that Clarion had a wonderful life and that she had many people to help her daily. "But.. That's not fair at all!" The tinker protested, despite knowing that it wouldn't change the queens mind "Some things aren't meant to be fair sweetheart. Sometimes, you must give up one thing for your own good and that I have done"

Tinkerbell sighed sadly, knowing that the queen may have been the most important fairy in all of neverland but also the most misunderstood fairy, saddened her greatly. Queen Clarion was somebody the tinker looked up to, as a mentor and a mother figure. "Well.. You can always talk to me and the other girls! We'd be pleased to hear how you feel." The blonde smiled brightly at Clarion. "Thank you dear."

Tinkerbell and the queen carried on with their conversations for quite some time until the both of them went silent and enjoyed the night sky. Clarion opened her mouth, she was about to speak up when she noticed a light snoring coming from beside her. When Queen Clarion turned around to face the young fairy, she was instead greeted by a sleeping blonde tinker. Tinkerbell had silently fallen asleep against the queen.

Clarions face relaxed into a kind smile, she pushed a few strands of hair out of the girls face before whispering soft enough to not wake her up once more "Goodnight dear."
