Breaking

By Sailor Lightening

Summary: The Inner Senshi are dead. Now what is Usagi going to do with a new cast of characters who are there to help her?

Three

Usagi, Michiru, and Mamoru sat on the floor in Usagi's new bedroom. There was a short table in front of them. The table had the drinks that Usagi prepared for the three of them on it.

Usagi sipped her drink quietly. She looked at Mamoru. It hurt to look at him.

"So, you're really Sailormoon?" said Michiru. She glanced at Usagi and at Mamoru. "And I'm Sailor Neptune?"

"Yes," said Usagi.

"What happened to the other Sailor Senshi?" asked Michiru.

Usagi frowned. "We fought our enemy… her name was Queen Beryl," said Usagi. "I died. And I believe the other Sailor Senshi died, too."

"But you're alive right now," said Mamoru. "What could that mean?"

"I think I was reincarnated and that I was sent back through time," said Usagi. "Like what happened back in the Silver Millennium."

Usagi explained to Michiru about how she and the Sailor Senshi lived on the moon and on the Senshi's respective planets. She told Michiru that she was Princess Serenity. She also explained that Mamoru was the prince of Earth. His name was Prince Endymion.

"And I was the princess of Neptune?" said Michiru.

Usagi nodded. "Yes, you were an Outer Senshi… a Sailor Senshi from one of the outer planets.

"What do we do now?" said Michiru.

"We need to train," said Mamoru. "We need to hone our skills. We need to be strong. We need to be fast. And we need to be ready to kill."

"We also have to see if we can find the other Outer Senshi," said Usagi. "We need to see if we can find Sailor Uranus and even Sailor Pluto."

"That might be tricky," said Mamoru. "You never know when they might show up."

"We'll see," said Usagi.

Usagi watched as Michiru left the entrance of Usagi's home. Now, she was alone with Mamoru.

The two looked at each other. Usagi's eyes grew misty.

"I can't believe I forgot you," said Usagi softly.

Mamoru nodded. "I'm just happy that you're okay," he said.

"How did you escape Queen Beryl?" asked Usagi.

"I woke up at my apartment just like you woke up back at your home in Tokyo," he said.

"What do we do now?" asked Usagi carefully.

Mamoru reached out to hold onto Usagi's hand. He kissed her knuckles. "Let's start fresh," said Mamoru. "I want to take you out on a date tomorrow. What do you say?"

Usagi smiled. "All right," she said. "Let's."

The next day moved by too slowly for Usagi's liking. However, the end-of-the-day finally arrived. Usagi asked Michiru to help her to get ready for her big date with Mamoru.

Michiru carefully placed blush on Usagi's cheeks. She put a soft pink lipstick on Usagi's lips.

"The final touch," said Michiru. "There."

Usagi looked at herself in the mirror. She wore a light blue dress with crystals sewn into the bodice. The dress touched the floor. She wore her hair up in its usual "odango" style. However, she placed light blue flower barrettes in her hair by her "odangos."

"You look lovely," said Michiru.

Usagi smiled at herself in the mirror. "Thanks," she said.

Usagi heard her mother calling to her from downstairs. "Usagi! Your date's here!"

Usagi made ready to go downstairs.

The restaurant that Mamoru took Usagi to was a grand and a beautiful place. There were crystal chandeliers on the ceiling. There were red roses in the foyer. The man who seated Mamoru and Usagi wore a black-and-white waiter's uniform.

"Would you like the wine menu?" asked the man once Mamoru and Usagi were seated at the two's table.

"No. We'll have champagne," said Mamoru. "The bottle, please."

The man nodded. He left quickly.

Usagi blushed. "I've never had champagne before," she confessed.

Mamoru smiled. "I think you'll like it," said Mamoru.

Usagi nodded. She looked down at her menu. "Wow. Everything looks great."

"Would you like me to order for you, Usagi?" asked Mamoru expertly.

"Yes, that sounds fine," said Usagi.

The waiter returned. Mamoru ordered a duck l'orange for the both of them.

Mamoru and Usagi chatted quietly before the two's food came. Mamoru told Usagi about his studies.

"I'm studying medicine," said Mamoru. "I find that I don't have time to work though. I study a lot during my spare time."

Usagi smiled. "That sounds great," she said. "I'm sure you'll be a fine doctor."

"How are you doing here in Yokohama?"

"I'm doing well," said Usagi. "I've made some great friends. And school is going much better than it was back at Juuban High-School. My new start here has helped me to have a new start on my school-work as well."

Mamoru smiled. "That's great, Usagi. I always knew that you would do well in school if you put your heart into it."

"Thank you," said Usagi softly.

Something unexpected happened while Usagi and Mamoru talked. A three-piece band made its way over the Usagi and Mamoru's table. The musicians began to play a classical song.

"What's this?" asked Usagi.

"Have a drink of champagne, Usagi," said Mamoru.

Usagi picked up her champagne flute to try her first taste of champagne. However, Usagi quickly put her glass back down. There was something that glimmered inside the amber liquid of the champagne flute. It shone brightly in the light.

Mamoru stood up. He reached over and picked up Usagi's glass. In a moment there was something in Mamoru's hand.

It was a beautiful diamond ring. The diamond was pear-shaped. There were more diamonds on the band of the ring. The wedding band was silver.

Then, Mamoru knelt down on the tiled floor of the restaurant.

"Usagi, I thought I lost you," said Mamoru to Usagi. "I never want to go through that feeling again. I love you… and I will always love you. Will you marry me?"

"You want to marry me?" she asked quietly.

Mamoru nodded.

"Yes, Mamoru," said Usagi. "I will."
