Never in her life had she been so upset.

He must've noticed, because his face turned pale, mouth turning into a frown. "Hey," he murmured, placing a hand on her shoulder. "What's the ma-"

She lost it. "I DIDN'T GET YOU ANYTHING! AND HERE YOU ARE TAKING ME TO A SECLUDED BEAUTIFUL NATURE SANCTUARY IN THE SUNSET AND TELLING ME ALL THESE WONDERFUL HEART MELTING THINGS AND I DIDN'T EVEN GET YOU THE GAME YOU WANTED ON STEAM! I'M SUCH A TERRIBLE GIRLFRIEND OH MY GOD-"

He placed a gloved hand over her mouth. "Don't you ever say that again."

She whimpered into his hand, eyes watery.

"Oh goddammit, you know I'm weak to that face." He released her, shaking his head. "Listen: I don't want you to ever think that you're a bad girlfriend. Why would I do any of this-" He gestured to the trees around them. "-if I didn't think you were the best thing that ever happened to me. You aren't a bad girlfriend- you're my best friend, the greatest partner in crime-" At this, he winked. "-the most beautiful and caring person in the world, and the love of my life." He gave her a sheepish grin. "You- you mean everything to me."

Her lip quivered, and she crossed her arms over her chest. "You're not making me feel better."

"Wha-"

"You- you say things like that and I don't know how to respond; how to follow something that touching. I was never good with words."

Saeyoung pressed his palm onto her cheek. "You don't need to. You don't need to give me anything or show me anything. You are more than enough."

She mumbled a curse and gripped his hand. "I may be bad with words, but I know another way to convey how I feel."

He tapped his chin. "Music? Oh! Are you going to sing me a song? Or- or maybe a poem! I'm sorry I forgot to bring my bass; I would've played it as background music for your-"

The rest of his sentence was lost as the space between them disappeared. Saeyoung smiled into the kiss and wrapped an arm around her waist and she responded by pushing into him in an attempt to get even closer. Every time they kissed, it seemed it was never enough. Reluctantly, they parted for air, and Saeyoung watched as their breath left their mouths in puffs and mingled together in the cold wind.

"Well," he swallowed heavily, eyes drawn to her swollen lips. "I think you're conveying your feelings rather well."

She licked her lips, blinking at him under her eyelashes. "Told you."

"Yes. Yes, you did."

Immediately they clashed together again. But this time, Saeyoung's hands began to wander, rubbing her side. She gasped and he took the opportunity to slide his tongue into her mouth, wrestling with hers. She moaned quietly at first, used to having to be quiet when they made out at home, poor Saeran being in the room just next door. But she realized halfway through that they were in the middle of nowhere, with no lights as far as the eye could see.

So she ended the moan with a particularly loud groan. No doubt caught by surprise, Saeyoung shuddered, bringing her body even closer to his.

When they released this time, there was a string of saliva between their lips, glistening in the moonlight. Normally, this would have disgusted her, but the way he gazed at the connection was doing things to her she didn't think a simple look could. Licking his lips and breaking the string, he gave her a half-lidded stare, quirking his mouth into a smile and winking.

She fought the urge to punch him for ruining the moment, but couldn't help but surrender to his goofy grin. He was so unpredictable sometimes; sexy Saeyoung one minute, and the next silly 707. But that's what she liked about him. He was so full of love and personality, and it was contagious. So was his smile, and she found herself beaming up at him, the happiest she'd ever been in her life.

"Saeyoung." Her voice was hoarse, and she cleared her throat. "This- this may not be as eloquent as your talks, but I wanted to tell you something."

He nodded, giving her a quick peck on the lips before she continued.

"I was never really a happy person. Before I met you and the RFA, I stayed at home most of the time. I didn't like talking to people- heck, I didn't like people in general. Humans had sort of betrayed me. My- my parents weren't really the greatest. My dad was an alcoholic and my mom-" She inhaled. "-my mom would just stand there and watch as her husband trashed our home and ruined our lives. She didn't do anything. And me, I was too frightened to act on it. I guess I was as bad as she was. Eventually, my dad got worse and worse, and one day I got a call from my mom. She was crying, pleading for me to come home. I asked what was wrong and she told me dad had died. I didn't know what to think. Was I happy? I'd barely managed to escape that hellhole of a house and go to college, and finally the man that had haunted me forever was gone. I was paralyzed. My mom wanted me to come home."

She looked up at the dazzling stars, lips pressed together. "Liver failure. That's how he died. I knew it'd happen sooner or later but it was still a shock. Mom was a mess, and I decided to look after her. College became harder and I couldn't keep up. I decided mom needed professional help, even though she denied it, and the doctors had this list of all the mental illnesses she had. We put her in a nursing home and that was that. Haven't seen her since. I moved into an apartment, finished my bachelor's degree, and stayed in my room. I was safe there. Why leave? And that's- that's when I met him."

She laughed without feeling. "Your brother. And everything happened all at once. I met all these strange people: Zen, a narcissistic actor longing for love; Yoosung, a young, gullible I might add, boy trying to understand adulthood; Jaehee, an overworked, caring woman who had incredible ideas; Jumin, the cold-hearted, cat-loving CEO who just needed a companion; and the mysterious 707, a bright, handsome, smart and quirky boy with a heart of gold and a knack for puns." She caught Saeyoung's gaze, smiling softly. "And he opened up a new world for me: one with love, and beauty, and selflessness. A world where I felt loved, and a world where I mattered. He meant everything to me. If it wasn't for him I-" Tears pricked her eyes. "I wouldn't be standing here right now, looking at the beautiful night sky and feeling happy. I haven't felt happy in a long time. And I'm feeling this way because of you, Saeyoung. So thank you, for changing my life, and giving it meaning."

Saeyoung didn't speak. She fidgeted. Maybe she shouldn't have forced her entire life story onto him in one moment. Before she could apologize, she was caught up in Saeyoung's arms. He pressed his face into her neck, shoulders shaking.

"Saeyoung-?"

"God, I love you."

Her lip quivered as she laid her head on his shoulder. "I love you, too."

"If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't- I can't-" He breathed deeply. "You mean so much to me and I don't know how to express how amazing you are without sounding like a cheeseball-"

"We're already cheese balls, Saeyoung. I love you. I don't care how cheesy it is."

Saeyoung kissed her cheek. "I love you."

"No, I love you."

"Uhuh, I love you."

"I love you more."

"I love you, dammit!"

"Why are we arguing about the fact that we both really love each other!"

"I don't know!"

They laughed in each other's arms. She giggled as Saeyoung peppered kisses all over her face.

"I never thought I'd find real love."

"Who's cheesy now?" She said, smiling.

Saeyoung blushed the most endearing red hue. "Shush."

"Sorry." She chuckled.

"I never thought I'd find it. Yet here you are, smashing away all my expectations with your cute smile and pretty eyes." He paused to gaze at her. "Ya know something?"

"What?"

"I'm completely, utterly, terribly head-over-heels in love with you."

She let out a breathy laugh, cheeks warm nonetheless. "Who would've guessed?"

"I'm serious." Saeyoung grabbed her hands to remove her gloves, then kissed her knuckles, looking at her through his eyelashes. "I love you more than anything. I think it's a problem."

"How can that be a problem?"

"Because it makes me want to say and do things that I shouldn't because it's way too early in our relationship for-"

She placed a finger to his lips to stop his rambling. "It's okay. Tell me."

He took a deep breath. "Okay, this is super lame, but I just want you to know that all that stuff about getting married in the space station? I wasn't just joking around."

Her eyes went wide. "Are you-?"

Saeyoung inhaled. "I love you. So much. I don't know what I'd do without you so will you please do me the greatest honor of being my wife and staying together forever oh shit that sounds like a big commitment it's okay we don't have to if you don't want to but-"

He was silenced immediately by a wet kiss. He looked down to see tears falling from her face. She broke away with a wide smile, holding his face in her hands.

"So," Saeyoung smiled slowly. "Was that a yes?"

She laughed. "Oh my god, you dingus! Of course it's a yes!"

Saeyoung's heart swelled, and he let out a loud whoop, raising her into the air and spinning in a circle. She squealed in delight, finding purchase on his shoulders as he lowered her to the ground.

"Holy moly, I think I'm gonna vomit." She teetered over slightly, grabbing his jacket.

"As soon as I propose to you, you throw up. That's a story to tell the kids."

They froze, looking at each other in equal surprise. Saeyoung mentally smacked himself. Nice going, idiot, bringing up having children right after proposing.

To his relief, she smiled. "Yeah, it is, isn't it?"

Saeyoung traced her cheek with his finger, wiping away her tears. "I love you."

She giggled, putting her hand over his. "I love you, too, dummy."

???

"So, names."

"What are you talking about?"

"I was thinking Saeyoung Jr., or maybe Seven the Second- wait is that too redundant? Oh, oh! God Seven. God is the first name and Seven is the seco-"

"Sweetie, I'm not even pregnant yet."

"Just planning ahead."

"You're planning years ahead."

"Still-"

"I'm not naming any of our children those names."

"Okay, how about Honey Buddha-"

"NO."

Author's Note: So I wanted to talk briefly about being on hiatus- I am so so sorry! Things have been wild with college and COVID and everything else that's on fire right now. I'm gonna stop making excuses now. I've missed writing so much, and one of my resolutions is to write more. And I am working on the Dark Chocolate story (the other half to this one), and I will finish it! In the meantime, I hope you will take and enjoy this more wholesome and (kinda) pure story. Love you all!
