Note to everyone: Apart from the redo of Tom and Jerry the Movie, I have another project in mind involving the cat and mouse where they talk. This one will involve slapstick humor but not the stereotypical "one cat vs. one mouse" routine. Even though their versions of "Wizard of Oz" and "Chocolate Factory" were lame, there is one T&J crossover remake film I actually wouldn't mind seeing, one that's loosely based on 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World", and no, it wouldn't be animated versions of the live-action characters with Tom and Jerry as their sidekicks.

Here is the plot I had in mind:

In a life that exists off the set of the cartoons the cartoon characters 'film' (a la Roger Rabbit style), Tom and Jerry can actually speak, and they, along with other cartoon characters of the studio they work at find out that the son of the original owner of the studio, has recently passed away and they find out in his recorded DVD will that he hasn't decided who to leave his inheritance to so before dying, he decided to set up some race or scavenger hunt for the amount of $1,000,000,000, and all the employees, human and anthro, including Tom and Jerry, start competing against each other for the money, and chaos ensues. The reason Tom would want the money is so he could use it to buy himself his own well-secured home, away from any mice, dogs or humans who want to torment him for no reason.

Other characters searching for the money would include other famous old-style characters from Turner and/or Warner, excluding anyone from Looney Tunes, Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures. Examples include Droopy, Screwy Squirrel, Tex Avery Wolf, and others.

Now, in the Tom & Jerry franchise, everyone's often implied to be greedy, especially Tom and Jerry (especially Jerry), so it would fit that nature if almost anyone was included in the money chase. Of course, to be fair and not stoop to the "Jerry always wins" routine, I'm having pretty much ALL money chasers humiliated in the climax, and none of them will win the money.

The title I was thinking would probably be "Tom and Jerry's Mad, Mad, Mad All-Star Money Chase".

Characters I'm definitely featuring:
Tom
Jerry
Toodles Galore (I can imagine her competing against Tom over some money, seeing as how she wasn't interested in him and she competed over Jerry in one short)

Tuffy/Nibbles (as Jerry's sidekick)
Butch
Pristine Figg (yes, she's a movie character but she fits well with the greedy money-hunter crowd)

Lickboot (same with him)
Dr. Applecheek (ditto)
Spike (he's always against Tom and it'd be less than surprising that he'd want to get the money before Tom does)

Characters I MIGHT feature, but cannot confirm:
Droopy
Tex Avery Wolf
Screwy Squirrel
Meathead
Red Hot Riding Hood
Captain Kiddie and Squawk
Muscles

New characters to feature (so far):
Currently unnamed recently deceased studio owner (should be based off a real person, but not someone like Walt Disney)
Gas Station Attendant (who's based off the one from It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World; okay, so there might be a couple cartoon versions of the original live-action characters, but only three at least)
Gas Station Intern (again, based off the one from It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World)
Fire Chief Holloway (based off the fire chief played by Sterling Holloway from It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World)
Drunk Pilot (who's based off the Jim Backus-played one, but has a far different voice)
Hardware Store Owner who sells defective hardware that goes off in a Home Alone-esque manner
Police Chief
Police Officer

If anyone has any ideas for stuff to happen in this story, or what characters I should leave out (I think I might have too much), or names for the studio owner, please suggest. I'll even accept ideas that are reminiscent to Rat Race, since this idea would be based off that as well.

By the by, half of the characters I do not own. I own the new ones.
