"Where are we?"

Daniel started to come to his senses for what seemed like just a few seconds. He felt as if just a moment ago he was talking to Lucifer, and now he was laying on a cold marble floor in an unknown room with no windows. He couldn't really see anything due to the room being pitch black. The silence soon echoed in his room and he quickly realized he was alone.

"Skylar, Rascal?" Daniel quickly tried to get up, but soon discovered he was chained to a wall. He pulled as hard as he could, but he couldn't free himself from the restraining chains. "Nathan, Sly?" He cried some more.

"Shut up you stupid raccoon." Daniel felt a kick to his back. He whimpered but refused to acknowledge the voice; he knew it was Lucifer.

Daniel soon heard mechanical wings flapping above him. He felt a powerful breeze struck him from above as he saw the mechanical talons hit the marble floor. "Daniel Cooper." The bird walked into the light, revealing his massive frame and his golden body. "It's so nice to have you here."

Daniel didn't really respond.

"Are you curious to know where your family is located?" Clockwerk asked.

Daniel groaned. "Just tell me if they are alive."

Clockwerk laughed. "Oh, don't worry. They're alive. I didn't honestly want them anyway. You and that stupid brother of yours is what I was after."

"Why do you want us?" Daniel was a little scared to ask this question, but he didn't really want to think much about it.

"The twins are bringing everything back. Don't you see? If those brats succeed, I'll be dead forever. Keeping you and Sly here will give me a chance to steal that time machine and go forward in time to keep myself alive."

"How do you even know that you are dead?"

Clockwerk laughed. "Penelope is such a sweetheart, isn't she? She wanted Sly gone and she knew I was the man for the job. She told me everything, the fact that Sly would eventually end my life. You two are the last remaining Coopers. If I kill you two, then the Cooper line will just fade out of existence."

"Clockwerk, that's enough!"

Daniel turned over to the open crevice and noticed Penelope was standing right in the entrance with a pistol. "Spare him, Clockwerk." She somewhat begged but holding her pistol within Clockwerk's sights.

Behind Penelope, unknown to everyone, stood the terrified Skylar. She stood and watched as Penelope was about to end all this, but in the back of her mind she knew Clockwerk was indestructible. The stories she heard from Daniel just amazed her. "Uncle Daniel!"

Clockwerk laughed as he lunged forward to kill Daniel. Penelope pulled the trigger, but just as Skylar had predicted, Clockwerk wasn't fazed by the bullet. Skylar soon bolted forward and pushed Daniel out of the way, having Clockwerk hit her instead of Daniel. Daniel, with the amount of adrenalin pumping through his veins, managed to rip the chains out of the walls and run over to the injured Skylar. She didn't appear too damaged, until Daniel moved her curly blue hair out of her face and noticed a giant bloody gash on the right side of her skull.

"Skylar?!" He cried in disbelief.
