Yay, here it is. This took a lot of work and this is also developed from another fanfiction that I wanted to publish but lost the notes. I thought this would be short but it sort of exploded and turned into quite a long multi-chapter fanfiction. I'm happy to share this now and it'll follow a similar theme to Within San Theodoran Lands and Below Eastern Skies. I'm still working on several new what if shorts, which will just be a chapter but there will be another, hopeful multi-chapter fanfiction coming soon once I finish editing. It was incredibly hard to find matching music so you will see some weird music suggestions in places. I love writing but if you see any significant mistakes please tell me. I prefer constructive criticism and I always want to improve my writing. As usual please review, fave and follow. TR56

Chapter 1

Tintin edged himself towards the edge of the cliff and paused, removing his binoculars to scan the area below him.

He was surrounded by steep hills as far as the eye could see. The Sun was at it's highest, beating down hard on the ground and Tintin's perspiring forehead. Rocks cut into his skin slightly. The feeling only made him want to sit up but he didn't want to be discovered. The infamous drugs ring The Serpents were at the bottom of the cliff that he was surveying and he couldn't risk being discovered. So far all he could see was men unloading ming vases into a cave. Is it possible I followed the wrong trail? Tintin thought as he rested his elbows on the rocky ground.

He was beginning to wish that he had brought Snowy. No one was watching his back. He was told he would be more likely to remain undetected if he worked on his own. Back up was a long way behind along with The Captain, Chang and the Thompsons. The Chinese police and the Chinese Secret Service had asked for his aid as they knew of his exploits and more precisely his experience. He could remember the last time he was in China. It was over eight years ago. Stepping off the plane was a trip down memory lane but everything was different. Haddock just wanted a holiday. He had an inclination the Captain was stressed to no end stuck at the hotel.

Tintin breathed deeply and focused on the task in hand. It was midday and his long black trousers and long-sleeved blue shirt were covered in dust. The same could be said for this usual brown brogues. The men he was surveilling continued to unload vases from the van but the temptation to sneak down in the valley was overwhelming. The only concern was the lack of cover. There was nowhere to hide. He sat up onto his knee's contemplating.

Before he could stand up a sudden blow impacted the back of his head. Tintin collapsed onto the dusty ground hearing a couple of vague comments in Chinese as he grasped his head in pain. So much for stealth, Tintin thought.

Tintin was forced down the hill in handcuffs. This was not part of the plan but he quickly figured it might be the only way to work out what was going on in the cave. As he passed the truck the workmen stared at him, speaking and laughing in Chinese as he was led into the cave. As he was led through the end of the gun was repeatedly jabbed into his back. He was forced up a set of steps at the side of the cave and into a room. A man named Shan was sitting at the end with his back to them.

"Sir, we caught this kid, sneaking around outside," One said pushing Tintin forward.

Tintin sneered at the term being used to describe him. Kid, I'm twenty-five years old.

Shan remained with his back to him.

"You do remember what we do with people who decide to sneak around looking for us" Shan questioned.

"Yes sir"

"Then go and do it then!" Shan shouted

Shan's voice bounced off every single rock in the room transforming it into a loud continuous roar. The man standing behind Tintin stepped backwards slightly.

"Sir ..."

"If you don't deal with this, I'll take care of the both of you!"

"Sir I think the Blue Dragon will be interested in him"

He finally turned round in his seat laying his eye's on Tintin. Tintin kept his eye's firmly fixed to the floor as Shan stood up and immediately began to circle him like a vulture.

"My my... Where did you come from Mr Tintin?"

Tintin's eye's narrowed. I don't know you.

"The Blue Dragon will be pleased"

Shan wrapped his hand into Tintin's hair and tugged hard, forcing him to look up. Tintin grimaced loudly as his roots were almost yanked from his scalp.

"Do I know you?" Tintin asked, completely unfazed by the situation unfolding in front of him. All those who had tried to track them down before hadn't rematerialised but Tintin was certain he could get to the bottom of it. Shan forced Tintin onto his feet and pushed him back towards the door with the man who had brought him in.

"I'm sure the Blue Dragon will appreciate the gift"

Gift? I'm not your property, Tintin thought angrily. He didn't dare say that out loud though. He was pushed back out of the stone room and brought up yet another flight of stairs that led to a small artificially lit room.

Another man had his back turned and was leaning against the office table. He could see the visible tattoo on the man's left hand. The sight made Tintin exhale deeply. This gang had been operating for a year now and no one had identified the Blue Dragon. As Tintin was lead within four feet of the men he could see white streaks throughout his hair with one inch of pure white hair around his ears.

"I asked not to be disturbed"

Tintin froze as the vocal tones danced in his ears.

I know that voice, why?

"Forgive me Master" Shan stated. "We intercepted an intruder on the south hill"

"Why are you telling me this? You know the procedure when outsiders infiltrate our operations"

I know your voice from somewhere. I know I do, Tintin thought.

"You may want to make an exception for this one. I believe you are both acquainted"

The man turned around.

Tintin froze

It can't be ... No

That's impossible.

"No .."

Tintin's voice came out in barely a whisper. He couldn't form any words at all.

"Mr Tintin ... at last we meet again"

I love doing cliffhangers at the end of chapters. When the first trailer from the Live action Mulan surfaced on the internet I relistened to the original soundtrack and Epic Versions by Samuel Kim and I suddenly became inspired. I thought why not write another multi-chapter story for the Adventures of Tintin but have him go back to China. I also gave Tintin an age in an attempt to design a timeline for the adventures because this story takes place after Tintin and the Picaros but it is linked to The Blue Lotus. I have described The Blue Lotus as being over eight years before this. Due to this Tintin is older, as is everyone else. Thanks for reading, please fol, fav or even review.
