Note: This is my first MCSM fic, sorry if it sucks. Most of the dialogue in this story will be straight from the game, maybe with minor wording changes. Also, the beginning of this chapter is basically a retelling of the Order of the Stone getting the flint and steel and returning, which is why I glossed over some parts, and the chapter is mostly a retelling of a part of S1 E5. Hopefully, things will get more interesting in the next chapter. Also, as you could probably tell from the cover, I imagined this with F2 and M2 Jesse, but you're the reader, so you pick the Jesses.

All was silent in the jungle, except for the moaning of zombies, the clicking of skeleton bones, and the hissing of spiders. Then, the relative silence was shattered by the sound of footsteps and combat. The new Order of the Stone raced through the trees, dodging arrows and slaying mobs. Their goal was a large, old temple hidden deep within the canopy of trees.

Jesse swung her sword, its enchanted diamond blade turning several zombies into piles of rotten flesh. Hearing the creaking of a bow being drawn, she turned around to face two skeletons, bows taut and ready to fire.

"Look out!" a voice from above yelled. Petra leapt from the tree she was atop, screaming a battle cry as she quickly dispatched the two skeletons with her enchanted golden sword. "Thanks," Jesse said with a smile.

"Hey, guys! Axel yelled. "Check this out!" He held a zombie under each of his arms, squeezing them as he said, "3..2..1.. Pop!" The zombies disintegrated, leaving behind rancid flesh. Axel continued speaking, but Jesse was more concerned about the zombie sneaking up behind him. "Watch out!" she yelled, running towards him. Axel turned, and Jesse used her momentum to roll across Axel's back and slash at the zombie, which quickly became rotten meat.

"You're getting pretty good at this," Axel complimented, giving Jesse a high-five.

"You guys are working way too hard," Olivia called. She was leaning against multiple arrow dispensers, which fired into the remaining mobs, turning them into dust bunnies and various drops. Jesse chuckled. "You're always trying to one-up us, aren't you," she said, impaling the zombie behind her.

Once all of the surrounding mobs were gone, the Order of the Stone faced the giant temple. "Gotta give Ivor credit for this one. This was a good tip," Petra noted.

After taking a moment to admire the temple's exterior, Jesse turned to her friends. "Order of the Stone," she said in her heroic tone, "let's find some treasure."

"Treasure!" the others cheered.

After solving a complicated lava puzzle, descending a winding staircase, opening some chests, encountering mobs, and escaping the clutches of death and lava (again), the Order of the Stone emerged from the temple with a new load of treasure. The best part of it, though, was an enchanted flint and steel with a light blue glow. Jesse lit a nearby tree stump with it, causing a column of blue flames to leap into the air.

"Well, well," a familiar voice said. "Where'd you get the new toy?" The four friends turned to see Aiden standing on the temple steps. "Looks a little sophisticated for you, Jesse."

"Order of the Losers," another person cut in. The Order turned to see Maya and Gill emerge from the forest. "Yeah, losers," Gill sneered, echoing Maya's insult.

So, what are you Ocelots doing here, anyway?" Olivia asked, crossing her arms.

"The Ocelots were Lukas' gang," Aiden replied. "We ditched that name, just like we ditched him."

"Yeah, we rebranded," Maya said, turning to display the back of her jacket, which bore an image of two crossed Blaze Rods forming an X. "We're the Blaze Rods now." Gill echoed her again, shouting, "Blaze Rods!"

"Shut up, Gill." Aiden glared at his teammate.

"Eh," Jesse shrugged. "I liked Ocelots better."

"Well, too bad," Aiden said sarcastically. "Ever since the old Order thought you guys were cool, Lukas has been sniffing around you guys like a tamed dog."

"Take that back," Petra growled. Aiden smiled. "Hm... no."

"Lukas is a hero. That's more than I can say for any of you," Jesse told the Blaze Rods. Angered and out of patience, Aiden drew his sword. "Give me that flint and steel!" he demanded. Maya and Gill drew their swords, too.

In response, the Order of the Stone readied their weapons.

With the threat of battle, Aiden, Maya, and Gill backed off, but as they left, Aiden gave an ominous warning. "Watch out, Jesse."

The Order of the Stone reached the gates of Beacontown by morning, hoping to ask Ivor about the flint and steel. They strode into town, gathering the attention of many Beacontown residents, who came out onto the streets to welcome their heroes home.

A terrified shriek came from near the Order Hall. When the Order went to investigate, they found a large crowd surrounding a skull-shaped construct, complete with a lava fall. A bearded man stuck his head out of one of the skull's eyeholes, arguing with the angry crowd.

After a minute or so of consideration (and arguing between Ivor and the crowd), Jesse came to a conclusion. "Ivor put a lot of work into his new house, and we need to show it the same respect that we would to a house not pouring lava." As the disappointed crowd dispersed, Jesse told Ivor that they found something in the temple he told them about.

"Great to see you again! Let's do lunch!" he said loudly (and very suddenly), with a cheery tone. "I'll bring the carrots." In a quieter voice, he told Jesse, "Who knows who could be listening. Meet me in the Treasure Room in ten minutes, and bring the thing you found."

Jesse and Petra walked into the Order Hall's Treasure Room. Olivia and Axel had gone off to get materials to make Ivor's house a bit safer. The heroine and warrior spotted a familiar friend in the room and another person, both of them with their backs turned to the girls.

"Lukas!" Petra exclaimed in surprise. "I don't believe it!" At the sound of her voice, Lukas and the stranger turned around, Lukas bearing a smile and the stranger staring at Jesse with wide eyes.

Jesse noticed something familiar about the stranger. As he slowly smiled, she realized that he didn't look that different from her. In fact, they were nearly identical. With that realization, a feeling of hope surged through her as her face lit up.

"Hey, Jess," he said, nervousness evident in his voice. "Reme-" He stopped as Jesse hugged him, cutting off his air flow. "Need- air-" he gasped. Once Jesse released him from her death grip, Petra spoke up. "So, sorry to interrupt the moment, but, who are you? And how do you two know each other?" she asked Jesse and the stranger.

"I'm Jesse," he said. "Jess' twin brother." Petra looked at the female Jesse. "You're both named Jesse?" Said Jesse nodded. "I guess you guys can call me Jess, then," she said.

"Well, nice to meet you, Jesse," Lukas said, extending his hand. Jesse shook it, saying, "Nice to meet you guys, too. Uh, thanks for saving the world." Petra grinned. "No problem. So, what are you two," she looked at Lukas and Jesse, "doing here?"

"I had a run-in with Aiden recently," Lukas replied. "He's been really jealous lately, convinced he was supposed to be the hero. He's been pushing Maya and Gill around, too."

"But.. why?" Jess asked.

"He thinks you're a bully, Jesse- uh- Jess, looting and keeping the best stuff for yourself. Speaking of which, what did you guys find out there?"

Jess pulled out the flint and steel. "This."

"You found it!" Ivor yelled, scaring the crud out of everyone and causing them to jump ten feet into the air. "What does it do?" Jess asked, to which Ivor replied, "It proves my theory about a group of builders older than the Order of the Stone!" He went on to explain about these "Old Builders" and their "Eversource," which Ivor claimed could provide unlimited resources.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Jess asked. "Sounds like an adventure to me."

"Excellent! I'll pack my adventuring equipment immediately!" Ivor said with rare enthusiasm.

"Well, it seems you guys have qui-" Lukas began, but was stopped by Petra.

"Nope, you're coming along, too. I need a barrier between myself and Ivor," the warrior said.

Jess turned to her brother. "You want to come?"

"Do I? It sounds awesome!" Jesse cheered.

"You might want to put on some real armor first," Petra suggested, glancing at Jesse's outfit: long-sleeved T-shirt, long pants, suspenders, and leather boots. "That has to be the saddest adventuring outfit I've ever seen."

"I might have a set you could borrow," Jess said, walking over to the nearby armor stands displaying Ivor's quality armor. Jesse chose the Adamantium Impervium armor to match his sister, who wore Ellegaard's armor.

"Got any decent weapons to go with that?" Petra asked. "Or are they as sad as your leather boots?" Jesse grinned and pulled an enchanted iron pickaxe out of his inventory, along with an enchanted bow. "Mending on both, Infinity on the bow and Efficiency on the pickaxe," he recited. "Decent enough for you?"

"I guess," Petra shrugged. "Just don't die. Let's go."

The five of them found themselves trekking through the jungle on the same route that Jess, Petra, Olivia and Axel had taken the previous night. Ivor was beside himself with excitement, occasionally muttering to himself and hopping up and down. When they entered the temple, Jess noticed a large hole in the ceiling with vines hanging from it. Upon further inspection, the team found a portal atop the temple. It was in the shape of an egg, outlined in gold blocks and filled with quartz. Jess knelt and lit the portal, which emitted a burst of energy, knocking everyone off their feet and sending the flint and steel flying. It rolled across the floor, coming to a stop at the feet of a certain envious Blaze Rod.

"Well, what do we have here?" Aiden asked with a false sweetness in his voice.

"Give it back, Aiden," Jess said.

"Hmm... nah," he replied. In response, Jess and Petra drew their swords, Lukas nocked an arrow, and Jesse pulled out his pickaxe.

"Blaze Rods," Aiden turned to Maya and Gill. "Clear me a path.

After a brief spat, the Blaze Rods managed to escape through the portal, taking the flint and steel with them. "Come on! Let's go follow them!" Petra yelled.

"What about Axel and Olivia?" Jess asked.

"There's no time!" Ivor interrupted. "We have to get to the Eversource before they do!" With that, he rushed into the portal, followed by Petra and Lukas. The twins exchanged a look before rushing in after them.

The five adventurers emerged on a small dirt island. Ivor, who had spawned near the edge, flailed his arms to avoid falling through the infinite sky that was below them. After helping Ivor back onto the island, Jess looked out at the endless sky and noticed a much larger island below them with a city on it.

"You guys think that's where the Blaze Rods are?" she asked the others.

"Yep," Petra replied. "Which means we've got to get down there as soon as possible."

"How about we build there?" Jesse suggested. "This island looks big enough to dig up and build a bridge with." Several minutes later, the team, with inventories filled with dirt blocks, began building towards the city from what remained of their island. When they finally reached the city after what felt like forever and a few moments at the same time, they encountered a man who seemed very nervous.

"Hi there," Jess greeted him. "How's your day going?"

"Y-you guys b-built," he stammered. "That's against the law!"

"What?" the group asked in near unison. "Sorry," Jess said. "We honestly had no idea."

The man continued as if she hadn't spoken. "First those outsiders, then you guys..." He trailed off, running into the city. The group pursued him, stopping when they entered the city. Towering egg-shaped structures made of iron and gold blocks dominated what appeared to be some sort of town square.

"Woah," the twins breathed in unison. "You can say that again," Petra muttered, taking in the scenery.

"This has to be the work of the Eversource," Ivor said. "We need to focus and find it before those Blaze Rods do!"

"For once, I agree with Ivor," Petra said. "Let's split up and see if anyone knows where the Blaze Rods went."

The five of them split up, each of them going around the square and asking the locals if they had seen any outsiders with black jackets pass by, and if they did, they asked where the outsiders went. Everyone who had seen the Blaze Rods gave the same location: Milo's Inn. The group reunited near the inn and went to talk to the innkeeper, a blonde, bearded man whom they assumed was Milo. Jess walked up to him just as he was handing a man some sticks and talking in a hushed voice, as if he was afraid to be overheard.

"Hi," Jess greeted. "Are you Milo?" The innkeeper's face brightened, though Jess could see a hint of nervousness in his gaze. "Why, yes, I am! How may I help you?" Milo asked.

"Have you seen a group of people wearing matching black jackets?" Jess asked. Milo answered, "Why, certainly! I recently talked to them. Why do you ask?"

"What did you guys talk about?" Jess questioned. The innkeeper replied, "They asked about the Eversource and its whereabouts. I told them what everyone knows: the Eversource is in the palace with the Founder."

"Excuse me, everyone," a feminine voice called. "There is an emergency meeting!" Milo muttered something that the team doubted was good. They walked back into the city square, noticing a pale-skinned woman with black hair standing in front of the largest egg structure. Jess guessed she was the Founder. Behind her were three very familiar faces. Jess gulped.

"This can't be good."
