Chapter 1 Weird Burns

**** Tōji kingdom ****

It was Ikuto's birthday and his parents were having a party for him. Ikuto turned 7 years old and he was the prince of the kingdom. During the party, Ikuto had gotten hurt. He had fallen cut his arm. When the servants tried to bandage it, his blood burned them. The servants ignored the pain and finished helping their prince.

When they were done, the doctor looked at the burns and it spread throughout his whole body and they died. After he watched his friends die, he questioned his parents.

"Mama, why did I kill my friends?" he asked Queen Souko.

"You didn't kill them my prince" she said softly. "You see, we are different from everyone else. You may be only 7 years old, but you are smart. Let me ask you some questions and depending on the answers will be whether you get the full story or a partial okay? She asked her son.

"Yes mama" Ikuto said sadly.

"Do you remember your dreams from last night? Where they any different or have you been having weird dreams for a while?" she asked him.

"I dreamt of a king that had sharp teeth, he had red eyes and he scared me" Ikuto said. "I saw another man that looked like Papa. He had the same sharp teeth, but he didn't scare me" he continued.

"Okay" the Queen said. "What were they doing?" she asked.

"Well, they were fighting. Then I came in between and there was a pink haired girl standing next to me. I was really big. I looked like Papa now. The girl was really pretty" Ikuto explained. "She kept looking at me smiling and she had teeth like Papa."

"Then she was fighting the red eyed man. He hurt her and I yelled at him not to hurt her. She was cut and the soldiers of the red-eyed king turned black when her blood touched them. After the battle, I saw myself fixing her cut and I didn't get hurt" he finished. "Why are you asking me about my dreams?"

"I'll answer your questions in a minute" she said. "Do you have dreams like this a lot?" she asked.

"Yes, I first saw her as a little baby. Then I saw her big like my dreams. I really like her, Mama" he said quietly.

"You have answered enough of my questions for now and I will explain the full story to you" the Queen said getting up while taking Ikuto's hand. "Let's go get Papa, he will want to be part of this."

"Your Papa and I are different Ikuto, we are not like the rest of the people here. We rely on the blood of others to live, whether it is human or animal. We are of the night. We are vampires." the Queen started to explain. "We are able to walk in the daylight because of an amulet. It is burned to our skin and cannot be removed. If it is, not only is it very painful, but we will no longer have the ability to walk in the daylight. Since your blood has awakened, you will need it too" she said.

"Here is your amulet son" King Aruto said. He handed Ikuto a clear colored gem. It will be embedded into your right shoulder. It is clear right now because you are still young. It will change colors when you find your true love" he told Ikuto handing him the gem.

"Where are your gems? Are they the same color?" he asked his parents.

"No Ikuto, mine is light blue" Midori said. "Your father's is purple. We take the color of the one we love. My gem is on my stomach. Do you remember when you were younger, and you asked me why my belly button was blue?" she asked and Ikuto nodded. "That's why. Your father's gem is on his chest right above his heart."

"So, why does mine have to be on my shoulder?" Ikuto asked his parents.

"When your vampiric abilities awaken so young there is really only 1 place you can place the amulet without causing too much pain and that is the shoulder. It is the least hurtful location" the King explained.

"Papa, what are the other places? If its okay, I would like to pick where it will be please" Ikuto asked his father.

"Your shoulder, your chest, your stomach or thighs" he replied. "You will want to put it where it can be hidden."

"I want to put the amulet on my chest like Papa, please?" he asked his parents.

"My boy, that is the most painful place you can get, Ikuto" the King said. "I didn't get mine until I was 16, your mama was 13. You are an early bird."

"Please Papa?" Ikuto said.

"Okay" Mama said putting her arms out. "Come here, I'll hold you."

Within the next hour, Ikuto had a gem firmly burned and stuck to his chest above his heart. He wasn't able to go anywhere for the next week while he received training from his parents and his new life began.

"Mom, are there others like us?" Ikuto, now 9 years old, asked his mom.

"Yes, but they are rare. The girl you see in your dreams is one of us, but her parents may not be. There are two forms of vampires. The first ones are born as one but awaken at various times of their life. The second group of vampires are turned this group will never be able to walk in the light. We will need to see what the heritage of this pink-haired girl is and go from there" she replied.

"We will travel the around to the kingdom surrounding us and we will watch your gem, if it glows, we will know who your pink-haired princess is" Ikuto's father said teasing him.

Ikuto would dream of her nightly and he found himself in love with a dream girl. Because he had woken up early, he was not the average 9-year-old. He was more like a teenager. He was mature and not afraid to find and protect the girl.

When they got to The Geshi Kingdom, Ikuto's gem started glowing. The closer they came to the palace the more it was glowed. The King and Queen and Ikuto entered the palace, they saw a small pink-haired girl walking running around the room. Her hair was down to her waist and seemed to be around four years old.

The king and Queen of the kingdom sat in their chairs watching their little girl.

"Ikuto, is she the one?" his father asked him.

"Yes, I see her every night in my dreams" he told his dad.

"Well, we will enter into negotiations for her hand in marriage" Queen Souko told her son and they walked up to the King Tsumugu and Queen Midori.

(Third person pov)

It was Amu birthday today and she was 7 years old. While she was playing in the garden of her palace, when she heard yelling coming from the inside. She ran to go find out what was wrong, and two men one wearing a blue head cover and the other red, picked her up and ran. She screamed for them to let her go, but they refused it. As they were running, her leg was cut, and her blood started to run down her leg. Then she screamed again and the one of the men who had a hold of her started screaming and let her go. This caused the other man to drop her on the ground.

When she looked up, her blood had accidently rubbed onto the abductor wearing blue and wherever it was there was a black mark.

The red-hooded man yelled, "What happened? Why did you let go!"

"She burned me!" he responded showing him his arm.

"We have to get you out of here before the soldiers see that you hurt the princess. Grab her!" the red hooded man said but he was hurting too much and so they both left Amu on the ground crying.

"Mama! Papa! Help me" she cried. "Please, help me."

A guard that came running up to her and tried to pick her up, but when he did, his hand ran across her leg and turned it black as well. The guard let her go as a boy with blue hair around 11 years old, ran up her them.

"Don't touch her cut, it will burn you" Ikuto said, and Amu cried harder.

Amu looked up as Ikuto walked over to her, "It's okay Amu, your blood won't hurt me" he said.

"Why did their skin turn black? Why did he scream? Did I hurt him?" she asked him.

"I'll tell you why when we get you back home okay?" he said gently, then he tore part of his shirt and wrapped it around her leg.

"There you can carry her now" he told the guard and stepped back.

The guard picked her up and they made their way back to the palace. When they got there, the other guards saw his hand and rushed him out of the room calling for the doctor, thinking that he had been burned by the enemy.

Amu looked around the room, there were bodies on the floor and everyone bleeding. There were others sitting while have their wounds treated by servants. As a servant walked to her, she noticed the cut on her leg and tried to help, but Ikuto told her not to touch my leg.

"What is wrong with me Ikuto? Why can't she help too?" she asked Ikuto.

"When you turned 7, your blood changed Amu" he said. "That's why I'm here. To help you in case no one can else can."

"How can you help me?" she asked. "I don't want to hurt you too, you're my best friend."

"It won't hurt me, I promise" he said. "Would you like me to clean up your leg and then we can play a game and talk while they take care of everyone else?" Ikuto asked Amu.

"Please Ikuto" she said sadly. "My leg hurts but you keep stopping them from helping me."

"I'll help you, don't worry Princess, you won't hurt me" Ikuto told her then cleaned up her leg. She was happy to see that he could touch her blood with turning black.

"Am I hurting my friends Ikuto? Is that why you won't let them touch me?" she asked him.

"I'll tell you soon, but for now let's just take care of your leg okay?" he said

"Okay Ikuto. Thank you for helping me" Amu said smiling.

"Ikuto, where are my parents?" she asked looking around the room.

"They are tending to the wounded, I'll help you here and after we talk, I'll take you to them"

"Thank you Ikuto" she said softly.
