"We have been called criminals, but we are not." The voice, one of a male teenager, or perhaps a very young sounding adult, carried across the coms in the cafeteria, drawing the attention of Ephraim and Mira Bridger as they were served a large helping of slop. "We are rebels, fighting for the people."

Ephraim seemed to realize exactly who was talking, pausing to face his wife, eyes bulging. He mouthed her name, and she nodded back with a gape, tilting her head to try to listen better.

"Fighting for you. I'm not that old, but… I remember a time where things were better on Lothal." His words pretty much confirmed their suspicious, the married couple squeezing each other's hands that were not being used to support their serving treys.

The storm troopers and 'cooks' if they could even be called that, their food was so vile, were trying to get people to keep moving, the guards up in the listening booth trying desperately to turn off the coms, but were failing terribly. One storm trooper tried to nudge Mira and Ephraim on, but he, too, was reluctant to move, himself, as he was, too, curious about what was to be said next.

"Maybe not great," the voice continued, still referring to Lothal's state, "but… never like this. See what the empire has done to your lives, and your families, and your freedom?"

The couple could practically hear the yearning in his voice, the wish for an easier time.

"It's only gonna get worse… unless we stand up and fight back. It won't be easy! There'll be loss… and sacrifice, but we can't back down just because we're afraid!" He proceeded, voice gaining courage as he went, surer of himself. The bravery his voice possessed was all encompassing, Mira and Ephraim not able to avoid catching the confidence into their very souls.

"That's when we need to stand the tallest. That's what my parents taught me!"

Mira and Ephraim exchanged a look, gasping in shock, as they realized that he was talking about them.

"That's what my new family helped me remember. Stand up together. Because that's when we're strongest! As one." Silence reigned supreme after that, static radiating through the cafeteria.

Ephraim gazed at his wife, eyes widening.

She stared back, happiness blossoming across her face. She straightened a bit, smiling quietly.

They exchanged a nod, and they knew what they had to do.

The scene where it was revealed where Mira and Ephraim actually lived long enough to hear Ezra's message was… just… so… *kisses fingers* Beautiful!
