The Hunger Games; To the Victor the Spoils.

Welcome one and all to hear the history of each Hunger Games. For some time now I've been interested in the behind the scenes aspects of the Hunger Games world. One particular aspect stood out-the stories of the past victors. The Games are one of the most important foundations to our view of Panem, and pretty interesting personally too, at least to me. Whenever I re-read over Catching Fire and Mockingjay, whenever Brutus or Beetee or Johanna, or the unnamed victors like those from 5 and 9 come up, I wonder; just what was their story? How did they-the 'champions of their time' shape the world of Panem, and vice versa? Each of them went through a series of the same things; delivery to the Capitol, some lovely chats about the glory and ambition it would take to win the Games, delivery into an arena, and, eventually, being crowned as the Victor over 23 others. But what makes one different from another, you might think? Why is it that you could have a ferocious career from District 2 win 1 year, and then, say, a boy who only scored a 3, or a poor tribute from 6, or 11, or…..12? How many other tributes did a victor have to kill, and what memories were they haunted by? What kind of people become the 'victors' and what kind didn't…..when if things were just a hairs-breadth different, they could have been?

Some other great previous victor stories that inspired me to try my own take on this [that could be fun for you also];

'The Victor's Project' by Oisin55.

'23 Cannons' by Cjoborange.

'Cheating Death; Those That Lived' by CragmiteBlaster.

'75 Games, 75 Victors, 75 Oneshots' by Gamemaker97.

One more thing; it WILL NOT be compliant with A Ballad of Snakes and Songbirds. I started development of this well before we got any details on that, and there are already several significant differences. It's unfortunate, but hopefully you can still get some enjoyment out of it as an alternate universe type thing.

All and any constructive criticism is welcome. Reviews are highly encouraged, PMing as well. It helps a lot to know what people actually think of the story.

I am not Suzanne Collins and do not own the Hunger Games. But I am willing to explore it….so let me take you on an adventure…
