"Mom, come with me, quickly!"

"No, Kara, there is no other way! Listen, take care of Kal, he needs you, teach him everything that the house of El represents, protect him with your life, and promise me please!"

"But ... I don't know if I'll be able to do that all by myself... I need you, mom, please!"

"No, Kara, you are stronger than you think, you will be capable of this and much more! Never forget where you come from, darling!"

"Mom ... I..."

"I love you, Kara"

Before she could say anything else, the capsule shut, activating automatically, and bouncing off at breakneck speed. Kara clutched herself to the chair as best she could, the ship's controls recalibrated themselves. Behind him, Krypton emitted bright gases and flashes from its very core, flooding its surface with incandescent fire. Destruction was imminent. The AI that ruled the capsule announced in that moment.

"Compromised systems, activating additional security measures"

In no time, a shining energy shield with its own gravity enveloped the capsule, thus protecting it from possible impacts. From where Kara was sitting, she could not see anything going on behind her. She could only watch the unfathomable deep space in front of her and her sides if she moved her head sideways. Trying to appease her own thoughts that were overflowing, she turned her head and saw another capsule identical to hers passing by her, carrying in it a newborn little boy that she knew very well.

"Kal..."

In that moment, she noticed how an abrupt force lashed the capsule from behind, acting immediately and following her own instincts.

"No! I'm coming Kal! Switch to manual mode!"

"Switch to manual mode activated" announced the AI.

The capsule lurched, and then Kara grabbed the controls with all her might, going to maximum speed and following the wake of Kal's ship. She reached it much earlier thanks to the sudden impulse the ship had received, dangerously approaching to Kal's ship, but it was the only way to accomplish what she intended to do.

"Impact hazard" the AI warned mechanically.

"I know, get a little closer!" Kara exclaimed, ignoring the comment.

The capsule began to vibrate strongly as the last few meters paled rapidly, with the sign of impending impact reflected on all screens. However, before the collision happened, Kara indicated.

"Now, hook to it!"

"Activating towing function."

The capsule released much of the accumulated pressure, although by then they had moved far enough away from Krypton, so there was no danger. The engine turned off and, using a light but flexible magnetic field, Kara's capsule was docked to Kal's.

Once the process was complete, Kara allowed herself the luxury of relaxing within circumstances. Her immediate thoughts returned to her memory and, unable to bear it any longer, she let it go. It was too much. He had lost everything. She and his little cousin were the last ones.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry, Kal, I'm so sorry..." the girl cried, feeling helpless.

Her emotions completely dominated her until she was exhausted in a short time. Meanwhile, both capsules traveled together somewhere in the far reaches of the cosmos.
