Chapter 11/Epilogue – To a new home and a new adventure

The sound of rushing water from the waterfall lulled both Cheelai and Broly to sleep. Ba's ear was still draped over her small frame like a blanket as she laid her head on Broly's lap. Several trees blocked most of the sunlight save a few trickles through the gaps. One of those trickles lit her face the following morning, waking her up.

She lifted her head to gather her surroundings, the memory of yesterday replaying itself in her mind. She never realized how comfortable she felt exposing herself to Broly in such a way, yet thinking back on it made her grin at how bashful it made him. She gathered her clothes, changing into them.

When she approached Broly, she decided to tie Ba's ear back around his waist. She startled him awake, shaking his head as he stared around frantically. Cheelai was startled herself, momentarily, but then laid a hand on his head.

"Sorry if I woke you so suddenly," Cheelai whispered. She patted his head, then handed him Ba's ear. After securing it around his waist, Cheelai sat beside him.

"Who knew you could fall asleep so peacefully with nothing to talk about." She enjoyed the long silence, letting the sounds of the water and the wind rustling through the trees serenade them. After what they went through, they were in dire need of some quiet time.

She rested her hand on Broly's leg, gently squeezing it. "I suppose we should go find Goku and get this weird Chamber place out of the way." She paused, closing her eyes. The thought of spending a considerable amount of time with Broly in one place made her cheeks warm. "At least we'll get to know each other more."

"I can track Kakarot's energy and fly us there," Broly said. Cheelai let out a small gasp when he scooped her into his arms, wrapping her own around his neck as a reflex. "Warn me when you're going to do that!"

"Sorry," Broly muttered. She sighed but relaxed her body into his arms.

As they flew around, Cheelai wondered if Broly noticed her staring at him. There was something remarkably handsome about his eyes as he focused, the eyes of a Saiyan warrior. She often was able to see it up close in its many states, yet even at his most intimidating when they were glazed over white, she could still admire it. The awe she had for his primal nature kept her cheeks red, superimposed over her green skin.

A thought crossed her head, and she stared in the same direction as Broly did. "Do you even know where Goku is? Can you actually sense his energy?"

"It was something Father felt was necessary to learn. Scouters were unreliable." He nodded ahead. "Kakarot's energy is near."

Cheelai frowned. She wasn't sure if she liked the idea of sensing energy without the aid of a device. Having abilities like that all to yourself sounded like you kept secrets from others. She didn't want to hide anything from Broly, though.

The route of Mount Paozu crisscrossed through a valley that led below. Roads traversed through small villages and farmlands as far as Broly and Cheelai could notice. Yet despite all that he could see, Broly saw no visible sign of Goku anywhere.

Cheelai glanced down, frowning. "Are you sure we're in the right area? That's some backwoods looking land, if you ask me. Compared to what I've seen in the big city Bulma lives in, why would one of the strongest guys in the universe live way out here?"

They made their landing on a dirt road framed by fencing. Releasing Cheelai, she fixed her hair and wrinkled her nose, covering it seconds later.

"Phew! What is that stench?" The smell of manure and farmland hung in the air as animal sounds pierced Cheelai's ears, which made her grit her teeth. The sound of a goat spooked Cheelai from behind her as it began chewing on Ba's ear without Broly noticing.

"Hey! Shoo! That's not food!" Cheelai cried and motioned the goat to leave, but it ignored her and continued chewing. Broly noticed, and his face flared in anger.

"Broly, don't!" Cheelai yelped with her hands up. She pulled Ba's ear to free it from the goat's mouth, but it had a firm grip as it began to growl, resisting her.

"Let go, you stupid thing! Come on…!" Cheelai yelled, and Broly glared down at the goat. Closing his hand into a fist, he bopped the goat's head one time, knocking it out. The goat released the ear as it fell unconscious. Cheelai examined it, ignoring the drool from the goat to search for any rips and tears.

"Damn thing must've thought Ba's ear was grass or something." She found no signs of tearing and patted it with her hand. She glared at the other herd of goats and sheep ahead in the pasture, pointing at the one that Broly laid out.

"That's right! We're watching you! Don't make any funny business, or Broly'll bop you one fierce like your buddy over here!"

The animals looked unphased by what she had said, yet they pulled away from the fence regardless.

"You mess with Ba's ear; you mess with the both of us!" Cheelai spoke confidently, arms crossed as she posed in front of Broly. Broly grinned, admiring the tenaciousness of her attitude, but more so for how much she valued Ba's ear as well.

She hoped the distraction would take away the smell in the air from around them, but she had to hold her nose.

"I'm gonna faint if we don't get away from this!"

"That way," Broly said, pointing east to a forested area. Cheelai bolted straight for it.

When she could no longer smell manure, she took a deep breath. Broly didn't take as many steps to catch up with her. He pointed ahead.

"That way," Broly repeated himself. They walked along quietly, listening to birds' melodies, rustling leaves, and other smaller creatures roaming about, gathering food.

They noticed the back of a house as they approached a clearing. Cheelai recognized the dome shape as a Capsule house, similar to what Goku gave them while on Vampa. Yet this one looked older and worn from years of use.

Cheelai stopped Broly before he stepped further towards the house. "Wait."

Broly glanced back at her. "Shouldn't we knock on their front door first?"

Cheelai wanted to move but froze. She hoped Broly would make the first move, but he froze too. Why was this suddenly so nerve-wracking?

"Yo! What're you both doing out back here?" Goku's voice came behind them, and Cheelai jumped with a scream. Broly spun around to face him and almost lost his temper had he not remembered Goku's voice.

She glared up at him from the ground on her knees.

"Sorry about that!" Goku laughed and waved at the two. "I was about to go find you two, but I guess you saved me a trip!"

"Yeah, well, it was Broly's idea to look for you since you Saiyans love doing that energy-sensing thing. Still gives me the creeps if you ask me."

"I just finished breakfast. If you're ready to go, we'll-"

Broly's stomach rumbled. All the fighting he did yesterday worked up an appetite. The noise made the other two well aware of it. Broly pressed his hands to his stomach, red in the face. "Sorry."

"We'll stop at Bulma's place first before we head up. I'm sure Lemo's awake by now cooking up a storm."

Broly adored Lemo's cooking. The taste of everything Broly put in his mouth nearly superseded his innate Saiyan nature to fight if this continued.

"I assume you're joining us, Goku?" Cheelai asked. "Sure! I can take us there a lot faster if you'd like?"

"Some other time," Cheelai climbed on Broly's back. When they arrived at Capsule Corporation, Cheelai went to find Lemo, only for the staff to direct him to Bulma's laboratory.

The look on Lemo's face was grim when he greeted them, however.

"Lemo? Are you okay? You look like you haven't slept," Cheelai said.

Lemo gave her a long sigh. "I lost sleep searching for that damn planet, only to come up empty-handed. It's not enough for Whis to say there's a planet named Bloss out there. He failed to specify where it was! It's like looking for a pebble at the bottom of an ocean!"

"So we won't make it in time to bypass those storms?!" Cheelai exclaimed. She wanted to sink to her knees, defeated. She smiled faintly at Lemo as he scrutinized the astrological charts once more.

"I've exhausted all my options at this point. I'm almost too tired to cook," Lemo said with a laugh, looking over at Broly and Goku.

Cheelai put a hand on his shoulder, facing him. "It's okay. We can settle here on Earth and live with these people."

"I know someone who might have an idea where that planet is located," Goku piped in, drawing Lemo and Cheelai's attention.

He stared up at the ceiling. "Hey! King Kai! You there?"

The three stared at him blankly. Lemo narrowed his eyes, staring at him. "Okay. First, you talk about some Mister Popo, then a Hyper Time Chamber whatsit, and now a King named Kai? Are you sure you're a Saiyan, Goku, and not some weird alien from a different universe?"

"I can assure you he's not as weird as you think he is," said a voice in their heads, and all eyes except Goku's widened in surprise.

"I must be hallucinating from lack of sleep! I'm hearing voices in my head now!" Lemo cried, but Cheelai shook her head. "No, I hear it too."

Broly tapped the side of his head, tilting it to the side. He looked like he was trying to dislodge something out of his ear, yet the lack of progress made him frustrated.

"It's okay, Broly. Someone's speaking to us telepathically, er, talking to us in our heads," Cheelai assured him.

"Can you help us find a planet?" Goku asked.

"Find you a planet?" King Kai answered. "When'd you lose it?"

King Kai broke into laughter at his joke. Lemo and Cheelai blinked, but it was Lemo who cleared his throat.

"Um, Mister King Kai, we're looking for a planet named Bloss. That other fellow, Whis, he said there's a planet the Freeza Force hasn't conquered, yet said nothing about where it's located."

"Planet Bloss," King Kai said, then paused. A moment of silence proceeded until he hummed and hawed in their heads.

"You want to get to Bloss within two weeks? You're not making a joke, are you?" King Kai asked, waiting for a punchline to laugh again.

Lemo sighed. "Whis said that there were dangerous cosmic storms blocking access to and from the planet. In less than two weeks, the storms will be weak enough to allow us to go through unharmed. Otherwise, we won't know when the next window will open."

"I'm aware of the cosmic storms that protect Bloss, known to be the most beautiful planet in the universe. But as you stand, if you use a ship with the same speed as the one Goku used to travel to Namek, you're looking at a year's travel. The planetary system you're looking for is at the other end of the universe."

"What?!"

Lemo almost fainted, prompting Cheelai to catch him. "But how will we ever get there, then?"

"Use those Dragonballs of theirs. You can wish yourselves there instantly."

"About that," Goku said, addressing King Kai. "They already made a wish to Shenron. They won't be active until a year later."

"I'm sorry, but that's how it is, sadly. The next time the cosmic storm weakens will be approximately five years, two months, and ten days after the window closes."

Goku had his arms crossed, counting on his hands. When he stopped, he scratched his head. "I guess that's quite a long time from now. But oh well. Thanks for the info, King Kai!"

The telepathic link ceased, leaving Lemo defeated. "So that's it, then. Broly lost his home, we lost our stuff, and I've about lost all hope of finding a nice quiet place to settle down."

"Then we'll wait five years to travel. What's the big deal?" Cheelai said. Lemo shot her a look.

"The big deal is that we're sitting targets for Freeza and the Galactic Patrol. It won't be long before those space cops find out we lied to them about our 'immunity' and will come rushing back to haul all of us to prison. Better find a way to Bloss fast than sit and stew in a prison cell."

"Fine, fine, we'll find something. Just get yourself to bed before you think yourself dead," Cheelai told him but was interrupted by the loud rumbling of Broly's stomach.

"You haven't eaten since yesterday morning, have you?" Lemo asked, chuckling. Broly had a hand to his stomach.

"I can stay awake long enough to make you something, but I'll be out until the next morning," Lemo assured everyone.

"I could use an extra nibble or two, myself," Goku said. Cheelai stared at him.

"Didn't you just eat?"

"Well, I did. But I still have some room for more," Goku grinned with his hands on his hips. Cheelai rolled her eyes. "Whatever."

After Broly ate, with a little "help" from Goku, Lemo was passed out on a chair, exhausted. He laid his head down on the table after joining the others once he had finished cooking, allowing his team to clear the table and serve the second set of dishes. Broly lifted him off the chair and carried him to the room he and Cheelai shared, laying him on his bed. Cheelai draped the blanket over him and grinned. "Sleep well, Lemo."

Goku led them through the skies to Korin's tower, located directly beneath the Lookout. Korin, a white cat the size of a young boy, and Yajirobe, a portly man with scraggly facial hair, unkempt hair, and wearing a striped orange gi while carrying a katana on his side, welcomed Goku when he arrived with Broly and Cheelai. They gawked when they saw how imposing Broly looked.

"You sure bring some strange fellows with you everywhere you go, Goku," Korin said calmly, eyeing Broly and Cheelai up and down. Cheelai let herself down and stayed near Broly.

"This is officially the weirdest planet I've ever been on, and I've been to Vampa," Cheelai said. Between voices in her head and chambers that defy the laws of time and space to cats that talk, she was ready to call it a day.

Korin cleared his throat. "So what brings you here, other than the obvious?" The obvious being the Senzu beans, which he nodded to Yajirobe. The fat man was still frozen in awe at the larger Saiyan before Korin poked him in the stomach with his wooden staff's end.

"We're on our way to use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to help Broly train in controlling his anger," Goku said straightforwardly. Korin hummed as he looked more intently at Broly.

"Indeed. That was quite the fight you had out in the arctic, not to mention the one you had a short while ago. It's rare to see a fighter whose power is determined by how angry he gets. You'd think he'd be some character from a children's book leaped to life."

Goku laughed. "I suppose that's the case!"

Yajirobe returned with a bag full of senzu beans. "Ya sure ya need this much? Ya don't wanna go all out tryin' ta kill each other, right?"

"Of course not," Cheelai said, arms crossed. Yajirobe handed the bag to Goku, looking cautiously at Broly.

"Even when he's calm, he's scary-lookin,'" Yajirobe noted before retreating behind Korin. If they could see his eyes, they would've noticed him rolling them.

"Well, see ya tomorrow!" Goku shouted. He took to the air. Cheelai paused, glancing back and forth between Broly and Korin. She ran up to the cat and moved her hand on his head, stroking his fur. Korin's foot tapped rapidly in response, almost dropping his staff.

Gripping it tightly, he immediately came to his senses and cleared his throat.

"Sorry! I don't know what came over me!" Cheelai yelped before retreating to Broly. Korin held his paw up, shaking his head.

"It's quite alright. I've dealt with more 'interesting' guests before. Good luck up there."

After the two left, Yajirobe plunged a finger in his nose, dislodging a nugget. He flicked it aside. "How much time ya giving them before that big guy blows up the chamber?"

"I'd rather not say," Korin replied, strolling to the edge with his arm behind him, holding his staff in the other.

Up on the Lookout, Goku waved at Dende and Mister Popo, who was in the middle of tending flowers with a water canister. Dende bowed at him, then glanced behind him at Broly holding Cheelai in his arms. When he lowered her, she began to shiver, hugging herself tightly.

"It's so cold," she muttered, her teeth beginning to chatter. She clung to Broly for warmth but almost yelped when she saw Mister Popo smile at them with a friendly wave of his open hand.

"Ah, right, you guys haven't been here before, have ya?" Goku said. "That's Mister Popo; he looks after the place. And the guy that looks like Piccolo over there, that's Dende, the Guardian of the Earth."

"Huh?" Cheelai asked, looking lost. Even Broly looked as puzzled as she was.

"Will you stop adding things I don't understand?!" Cheelai said after coming to her senses. She stared at the three of them before pinching the bridge of her nose, turning to Broly. "Let's just get this over with."

"We want to borrow the Hyperbolic Time Chamber," Goku said, tying the bag of Senzu beans to his belt.

"Understood. Witnessed big battle not long ago between you and other large Saiyan," Popo noted to the group, and Cheelai narrowed her eyes. His odd manner of speech sounded suspicious, yet those eyes of his unsettled her even more.

"Please be careful in there, Goku. Don't be as reckless as Vegeta was. You're way stronger than when you used this the last time," Dende warned him, but Goku laughed it off with a casual wave of his hand.

"It'll be alright. I'll make sure Broly doesn't go berserk in there blow up the chamber."

Broly and Cheelai were busy exploring the Lookout with their eyes as they followed Goku and Popo to the door that led to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, the room that contained a whole different world than that of Earth's.

"In here is everything you need. Plenty of food that never runs out," Popo informed them. Goku was always pleased to hear that, and even Broly was curious about what he had just said.

"Who will cook while we're in there?" Broly asked.

"Don't look at me; I've never been good at that. I'd burn everything," Cheelai said, waving her hands in front of her.

"I got the gist of it from Chichi over the years," Goku said. "Plus, I've learned some of it from my grandfather when I was a boy, learning how to cook and survive on my own. So don't worry too much about going hungry!"

Cheelai shrugged her shoulders and entered after Goku, followed by Broly. Popo closed the door behind them.

Barely a minute passed as Popo returned to his garden when the building exploded. The force from the explosion nearly bowled him and Dende over.

"Not again!" Dende cried out and ran up to the destroyed area. When he saw the smoke and dust clear, Cheelai was covered from head to toe, her hair messed up and darkened as she coughed a couple of times, looking dumbstruck. Goku was just as messy.

Broly stood, embarrassed the most out of the three with his fingers pressed together.

"Sorry about that!" Goku shouted. Dende frowned, shaking his head, dejected.

"Goku, please don't make us ban you from the Lookout as well," he warned him. Broly wanted to hide his face from everyone, bending down to pick up a piece of the destroyed interior. It crumbled in his hands, and his eyes widened, looking at Dende and Popo.

"I'm…I'm sorry…"

Broly walked away, prompting Cheelai to do damage control. "Please don't blame him for this! It's not his fault he can't control his anger! Don't get mad at him!"

Dende was surprised at first but replied with a faint smile. "I-it's okay. Mister Popo and I can rebuild this. I'm worried about your friend too."

"What if we're going about this the wrong way?" Cheelai suggested, walking away from the debris. She examined her clothes and sighed. "I should've brought a change of clothing before we got here."

"Recommend meditation. Help clear mind and focus energy," Popo offered, which to Cheelai sounded reasonable.

"You can teach that to Broly?" she asked, but Popo shook his head.

"Only can teach to sense energy. Piccolo is one who can teach meditation."

Dende's smile looked more confident, nodding in agreement with Popo. "What Mister Popo says is likely the best-case scenario for your friend. Piccolo spends a great deal of his time up here meditating to focus and strengthen his energy. I believe if your friend over there learns how to meditate, he might be able to control his anger better."

"Again with that name," Cheelai said. "So, where's this Piccolo guy?"

"He said he was going to look after Pan while Gohan was away at a seminar," Dende told her, and she rolled her eyes.

"Well, can we go see him, then? I'm sorry to be a burden, but I'm freezing my butt up here, and I'd like to change into something different. Being up in the stratosphere with nothing but summer wear is the last thing I'd like to be doing."

"Right. Broly! We're gonna go see Piccolo, okay?" Goku called out to the Saiyan. Broly glanced back at the destruction and frowned, nodding.

"Broly, I'm certain you'll find a way to control your anger. Goku believes you can do it, as do we," Dende said, offering his hand up for a handshake. Broly took it with a grin on his face.

"I'm confident he'll do it too," Cheelai added, smiling despite fighting the bitter chill.

Goku put two fingers to his forehead, waiting for Broly and Cheelai to grab hold of him before they teleported off the Lookout. He waved one last time at Dende and Popo.

"Here, give these back to Korin. Sorry for all the trouble!" Goku said as he tossed the bag of senzu beans at Dende. After Broly put his hand on Goku's shoulder, Cheelai's hand grabbed his. Seconds later, the three vanished.

"Kami believe Broly will control his anger?" Popo asked.

"I can only hope so, Mister Popo. But right now, I can't shake this foreboding I have in the pit of my stomach. Something far worse is out there somewhere, and the anger of this one Saiyan pales in comparison. I pray that I'm wrong about this."

"Foreboding about evil presence always sign of incoming disaster," Popo noted with a nod.

When Goku, Broly, and Cheelai re-appeared, Piccolo was sitting cross-legged by a tree near Gohan's house. Pan, the daughter of Gohan and Videl, slept in her crib. The Namekian opened an eye when he sensed Goku and company appear but kept his gaze fixed on Broly.

"So you've returned," he said, rising. Cheelai gushed over Pan sleeping in her crib and pointed down at her.

"Is this your…?"

"My granddaughter, Pan," Goku said. "Piccolo's been a good uncle to her whenever he comes to visit Gohan and Videl."

Piccolo grunted, frowning at Goku. "I don't babysit. I'm ensuring Pan's safety while Gohan is busy at work."

"She's so adorable," Cheelai said. She closed her eyes and laid her hand across her heart. When she made a passing look at Broly, her eyes widened before she averted them. The idea of motherhood had crossed her mind once before when she entertained it to Durien. After that fell through in the worst way, the thought crossed her mind once more once she gazed at Broly. Something about his physical build mesmerized her. She couldn't help but fawn over him with a look that Broly noticed, raising his eyebrow in confusion.

"Are you okay?" Broly asked.

"Huh?" Cheelai snapped back to her senses. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine. This kid's cute, isn't she?"

"What does cute mean?" Broly was still unfamiliar with simple words that weren't used very often, or instead were never used period. Words like "cute" had no context on Vampa when Broly played with Ba or training with his father while evading beetles, beasts, and the Under-Dweller. To hear that come from Cheelai was another thing to add to the list of confusing words he's heard her use before.

"When someone does something that evokes a feeling of joy. We sometimes say that it's cute," Cheelai explained. Broly pondered it for a moment, then stared down at her.

"Does that mean it's cute when you smile, Cheelai?" Broly asked. Cheelai flailed her hands in front of her, covering Broly's mouth as she stared at Goku and Piccolo.

"Maybe I should explain later!" Cheelai laughed. "How about we get to the reason why we're here? Right, Goku?"

"Yeah," Goku said, eager to get straight to the point. "Can you teach Broly how to meditate like you do, Piccolo?"

Piccolo didn't hide his shock, gawking at the Saiyans. "Don't lump me in a teacher's role with everyone you associate with!"

"But we need something to help Broly control his anger!" Goku protested. "We tried using the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but we accidentally blew it up."

Piccolo put a hand to his face. Cheelai sighed, putting her hands together in front of her chest.

"I'm not entirely familiar with how meditation works," she began. "But, we're running out of options. I'm glad to help Broly in any way I can, but I can't always be around him. It wouldn't be fair to either of us if we always depend on each other."

"You want to make sure Broly doesn't lose his temper and destroy everything around him," Piccolo assured her, staring up at Broly. "To think there are now three Saiyans with the power to level entire galaxies at this point."

"If we're lucky, it doesn't ever come to that," Cheelai whispered, low enough that Broly was able to hear it. She then glanced up at him when she saw his confusion. "Well, it's technically true. You, Goku, and Vegeta could wipe out the whole universe with your power combined."

"It's not like that!" Goku whined. "There's a lot of threats out there that if we're not strong enough, they'll be the ones doin' the destruction."

"In any case, I cannot guarantee you'll be successful with this. I'll leave that up to you," Piccolo said to Broly, who nodded.

"I like Cheelai. I don't want to see her get hurt," Broly said. Cheelai wrapped herself around his arm. "It takes a lot to hurt me, big guy."

She paused. Holding Broly's arm, she gazed up at his face again, then turned to Piccolo. "Um, I wouldn't mind learning myself, if that's possible?" Piccolo's eyes rose slightly. "I think learning as well will help when we've moved to Bloss, assuming we have the means to get there."

"Bloss?" Piccolo asked.

"A planet on the far edge of the Universe that Freeza hasn't conquered yet. We want to go there as soon as we can, but we have no means to do so."

"And Shenron already granted a wish, so the Dragonballs are out of the question until next year," Piccolo noted, to which everyone agreed.

"And I need a point of focus to use my instantaneous movement. The only other person I can think of who would take you there is Whis," Goku said, which made Broly's eyes widen. The conversation stirred Pan awake, crying.

"Oh! We didn't mean to wake her up!" Cheelai said, worried. Piccolo lifted Pan out of her crib and gently rocked her in his arms.

"Um, m-may I?" Cheelai asked. She hesitantly reached out for Pan and wondered if the baby would accept this new face or not. "I-it's okay. I won't do anything bad."

Pan continued crying, which made Cheelai dejected. She looked ready to leave when Piccolo approached her with Pan, grinning.

"Go ahead, it's alright," Piccolo said and laid Pan gently into Cheelai's arms.

"There, there," Cheelai said, using a soothing tone. She began rocking Pan in her arms with a smile on her face. It seemed to work as Pan's crying subsided, and she let out a yawn, falling asleep shortly afterward.

Cheelai sat down with Pan in her arms by the tree Piccolo occupied. Her face brightened from what Broly could see, her cheeks warm and rosy as she comforted Pan. Goku mischievously glanced up at Broly with Piccolo standing to his other side.

"I've seen the same look on Videl's face when she holds Pan in her arms," Piccolo noted.

"I remember Chichi and Bulma making that face too when they held Gohan and little Trunks," Goku added. He nudged Broly. "I think Cheelai wants to be a mama someday too."

Broly's face went red as a tomato. Staring wide-eyed, both Goku and Piccolo let out a laugh.

Cheelai glared at the two, finger to her mouth, which halted them both.

"Sorry!" Goku said in as quiet a voice as he can. Once he had stood beside Broly, Piccolo matched the Saiyan's height, though with some help from his signature turban. He chose an open area along the yard beside Gohan's house and sat cross-legged.

"Sit in front of me, the same way," Piccolo said. Broly sat opposite Piccolo, adjusting his position to match the Namekian's, yet he struggled with it.

Piccolo explained the basics of meditation with Broly, who listened attentively. As she listened, Cheelai kept glancing down at Pan and closed her eyes. Part of her didn't want to let the baby go, but she needed to learn as well and laid Pan back into her crib.

Goku took this to signify that things were in good hands and said his goodbyes before leaving for his place, which wasn't too far away from Gohan's. Broly and Cheelai spent the rest of the day, achieving a calm state through meditation exercises. Broly struggled more yet grasped the concept after several failed attempts. Soon enough, he too was in a passive state.

The following day, Goku promptly arrived at Gohan's house. Cheelai was nestled comfortably in Broly's lap outside the house, resting her head against his chest.

"Mornin'!" Goku shouted. Broly placed a finger against his lips, pointing down at Cheelai. "Ah, gotcha. Sorry, I'll wait until she wakes up."

Goku knocked on the door to Gohan's house. "Gohan! I'm coming in!"

Broly had a comfortable look on his face, watching her sleep on his lap. He enjoyed the intimacy they shared, and the feel and scent of her hair added an extra layer to that comfort. Yet nothing could compare to those beautiful purple eyes of hers every time he stared into them.

Cheelai's experience over the past week strengthened her resolve and the compassion she developed for Broly. It also helped her discard the negative emotional baggage that weighed her down for so long, making going into a meditative state much simpler. Everything heightened around her. The bountiful life energy, the serenity of shutting everything out and being in the moment was a new sensation for her. Yet, with time, she could see herself drastically improving on it. She knew this meant more for Broly, but if she was going to be helping him after today, she'd need to master this as soon as possible.

When she saw the struggle on Broly's face to remain calm, she helped him by holding his hands, stilling his emotions.

"She's quite the natural," Piccolo told Broly when he approached them, nodding at Cheelai. "She cares for you deeply, which will help you achieve a state of calm."

"I know," Broly said, albeit reluctantly.

Still, Piccolo was impressed by Broly's resolve to learn meditation. "You will need a quiet, secluded area to continue meditating, free from distraction." Broly agreed as Piccolo excused himself into Gohan's house.

When Cheelai eventually woke up, she grinned. "Morning, Broly."

"I didn't want to disturb you," Broly said. Cheelai chuckled. "Thank you."

"Kakarot is here. He can take us to Lemo."

She stood up and stretched. "Perfect. We just need to figure out what the next plan of action is."

Gohan and Videl emerged with Goku, Videl holding Pan in her arms. Cheelai greeted them all, gushing over Pan once more.

"It's great to meet you finally, Broly," Gohan said, holding his hand out for Broly to take in a handshake.

"Thank you," Broly said. Cheelai busied herself, making funny faces at Pan, which got a few giggles from the infant. Videl leaned over to whisper in Cheelai's ear.

"I can tell you've got that twinkle in your eye that says you want to be a mom too."

Cheelai cleared her throat. "Well, I would like to have kids. But not right now."

"Word of advice," Videl lowered her voice even lower. "Don't expect a gentle night with your friend; Saiyans can get pretty…primal…if you know what I mean."

Cheelai couldn't resist going red in the face again. She never could remember how many moments she's had since being on Earth that caused her embarrassment, but Videl's expression when she wrapped her arm around Gohan's made Cheelai glance at him. She then eyed Goku before laying her eyes on Broly's physique again, and she gulped.

Breaking into a fit of nervous laughter, Cheelai rushed back to Broly's side.

"Well, we should get going! Right, Broly?"

Videl couldn't hide her grin. Little Pan waved her tiny hands at Cheelai, who waved back in earnest. Grabbing Broly's arm, Cheelai wrapped herself tightly around him and waited for Goku to teleport them back to Capsule Corporation.

"It was nice meeting you all! Take good care of that daughter of yours!" Cheelai shouted at Videl and Gohan, who waved back at her.

"We hope to see you again someday!" Videl shouted back. Goku waved at them one time before putting two fingers to his forehead to teleport the three.

They appeared in Bulma's laboratory, where she and her father, Dr. Briefs, were tinkering with an apparatus.

"Bulma! Doctor! You guys got a ship that can travel to Planet Bloss?" Goku asked without thought. Cheelai looked away while Broly admired the apparatus, poking at it.

"You never were one for tact, Goku," Bulma sighed. "And no, we don't have a ship. Lemo told me this planet they want to move to is on the other side of the universe. With all the discoveries we've made in terms of alien technology from Saiyans and Namekians, the likelihood we can build a ship fast enough to travel that far in a short amount of time is ludicrous and a waste of our time and resources. No offense, Cheelai."

"None taken," Cheelai said. She casually waved it off. "I wasn't expecting a miracle. Guess we'll have to use those Dragonballs to wish ourselves there."

"Why don't I get Whis to take you there instead? He travels pretty fast across the universe, doesn't he?" Goku offered, which netted an elbow from Bulma.

"Please don't treat Whis as a taxi service," Bulma rebuked him, and Goku chuckled, hand to the back of his head.

"Sorry to bother you, Bulma," Cheelai said, bowing at her. Bulma waved it off. "Don't worry about it. This idiot's too loveable to stay angry at."

She grinned up at him and resumed her work. Cheelai tugged at Broly's arm to lead him out of the laboratory. "C'mon, let's go find Lemo."

Broly frowned. He wanted to see more of the devices that were inside the lab. So much technology and gadgets fascinated him, studying them with the wide-eyed curiosity of a child.

When he reluctantly peeled his eyes away, he followed Cheelai to the kitchens where Lemo was hard at work. He barked orders and made several corrections to mistakes the staff was making, shouting encouragement to "do better."

When he spotted Cheelai and Broly, he looked relieved. "Finally! I was worried you two abandoned me or something!"

"That's exactly it. We're leaving you behind to head to Bloss," Cheelai said sarcastically, yet Broly didn't pick up on it, glowering at her.

"She's speaking sarcastically, big guy," Lemo assured him, not taking his eyes off Cheelai.

"Sar…castic…lee?" Broly mouthed the words.

"It means I wasn't serious," Cheelai said. Broly frowned, glancing to the side. Cheelai couldn't hide the guilty look on her face. "We'll work on things like that another time."

"In any case," Lemo began. "Take a seat over there, and I'll get you guys fed and ready for the day. Got a lot of planning to do for our move to Bloss, and we'll need as much brain food to think this through."

"Actually," Cheelai interjected. "We were thinking of asking Whis to take us there. Well, Goku sort of came up with the idea, and I find myself agreeing with him."

"Seriously?" Lemo said, raising an eyebrow. "You're going to just walk up to the guy, knowing who he keeps as company, and straight-up ask: 'Hey, mister Whis? I hope you're not too busy. Mind giving us a lift to the end of the universe?'"

"Do you want to stay here for a whole year and wait for the Galactic Patrol to arrest us? Or take a chance that he'll cooperate?" Cheelai said, crossing her arms. She sat herself down at the nearest table. When she noticed she still had on the same clothes, she sighed, rising again.

"Broly, go eat. I need to shower and change. Think about what I said, Lemo."

She left the kitchen, Lemo staring at her with a look of scorn. "I'll never figure out that woman, Broly."

When he saw the look Broly was giving him, he rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'll think it over!"

Broly grinned as Lemo walked back into the kitchen, shouting at his staff. "Off your lazy butts! We got Saiyans to feed!"

Cheelai, washed and changed into a new summer dress, returned to the kitchen to see that Broly was still busy eating, clearing off several plates. Goku had joined them after breaking his silence, bragging about how awesome and strong Broly looked in his impromptu fight against Vegeta. She didn't like being reminded of Broly in his berserker state but couldn't bring herself to scowl at Goku for being so cheerful about it.

She pulled up a chair and sat between the two Saiyans as they devoured everything in front of them, staring at them.

"Where do you two fit all of that food? Do Saiyans have like multiple stomachs or something?"

"Beeffs me!" Goku said with a mouthful of food before swallowing. "Yummy! Wow! Lemo really can cook up a storm!"

Broly didn't say anything as he ate but savored each bite. He grinned the entire duration, and when he finally slowed down, he eased himself back in his chair.

Goku patted his stomach. "Whew! I'm stuffed! Doubly stuffed on top of what Chichi made earlier!"

Cheelai's eyes widened. I don't know what's scarier: a Saiyan's appetite for food or their appetite for fighting?

She wondered when Lemo would emerge from the kitchens, but she could hear his voice from inside.

"Careful with that! Don't let it tip over!" his muffled shouts seeped through the two swinging doors before he opened them, and the staff wheeled the largest-looking ice-cream sundae anyone had ever seen.

Cheelai's jaw dropped. It had to be as tall as she was, decorated with strawberries and cherries all over. Mountains of cream topping were neatly placed around the periphery in layers from the bottom to the top, with chocolate shavings dusted all over. Lemo secured the sundae into a box with a lid and locked the latch on top. He pressed a button on the bottom side, and the entire box vanished into a capsule.

"If this doesn't convince Whis to take us to Bloss, nothing will," Lemo said with a confident grin, holding the capsule in front of him. He placed it in his pocket and stood in front of Goku.

"Well, let's get this over with. Either Whis says yes, or Lord Beerus'll promptly destroy us."

Lemo waited for Cheelai to grab his hand when he offered it to her. She paused, hesitating.

"Um, you go with Goku. Broly and I will stay here," she said. Lemo scowled at her.

"Of all the underhand-fine! If I don't come back, assume the obvious."

"You'll be fine, Lemo. We believe in you!" Cheelai shouted, flashing her "OK" sign at him. Broly matched her's as well, which made Lemo roll his eyes. He placed his hand on Goku's shoulder.

"Let's go."

Goku nodded. He took a bit longer to sense the divine energies of Beerus and Whis, but when he got a lock-on, the two vanished.

As they arrived, Beerus was fishing with the Oracle fish while Whis casually enjoyed a cup of tea, holding the saucer in one hand. He raised an eyebrow when he saw Goku and Lemo appear.

"Hello there, Goku and Lemo," Whis greeted them. Beerus glanced behind him, tilting his head back, so his eyes were barely noticeable. He set the rod down and hopped to his feet, approaching the two with his hands behind his back.

"You better have a good reason to pop in unannounced like this, Goku."

"Right. You're up, Lemo," Goku said, nudging Lemo forward.

"Why me?" Lemo cried nervously, swallowing as he met Beerus's gaze. The Destroyer did still have a patient look on his face and seemed to have a strange sense of admiration for Lemo, fondly remembering the sumptuous banquet prepared for him.

"I suppose seeing your face again does imply something important. Alright, I'll hear you out," Beerus said.

"Y-yes, of course, Lord Beerus," Lemo said. He bowed at Whis. "Mister Whis, I humbly request your assistance to take Broly, Cheelai, and myself to Planet Bloss."

"Oh, you must be mistaken!" Whis said, chuckling. "I don't take requests!"

"I didn't think you would, sir. But I've brought a gift for the both of you that might change your mind."

Lemo retrieved the capsule from his pocket and activated it, tossing it to the ground. The large box contained within appeared in a cloud of white smoke. After it cleared, Lemo unlatched the top, and the four panels on each side fell to reveal the giant sundae in front of Beerus and Whis.

Whis stared with awe as Beerus's hands began to shake. He took a couple of steps before falling to his knees, weeping tears of joy. "Whis, it's so beautiful!"

"Goodness, Lord Beerus! It's been eons since I last saw you weep tears of joy! Gosh, it must've been, what, 3 million years, give or take?"

Beerus was too enamored with the massive dessert in front of him to scold him. He reached with a shaking hand to pluck a strawberry from the sundae and placed it into his mouth.

"Mmph! Strawberries! I can't get enough of these! Ohh! Cherries too! And Chocolate!"

He was just about to plunge his hands into the sundae when Whis whipped a spoon in front of him, clearing his throat. Beerus hastily snatched it and began eating scoops of the ice cream. He ate so fast he had to pause to hold his head, crying out in pain.

"Dear, oh dear," Whis sighed, shaking his head. "You ate so fast you've gone and got yourself an ice-cream headache."

After it cleared up, Beerus ate more reservedly, savoring each spoonful this time. When he noticed that Goku and Lemo were still there, staring at him, he glanced to Whis.

"Alright, I'll make an exception this time. Whis, go ahead and take them to Bloss."

"As you wish, Lord Beerus," Whis said, bowing at him. He ate a few spoonfuls of the sundae, humming to himself.

"I assume you need time to prepare your belongings before the trip?" Whis asked.

Lemo nodded. "Tomorrow at Capsule Corporation would be an ideal meeting place, I believe."

"Certainly," Whis said.

"I'll accompany you on this trip, Chef Lemo," Beerus added, which made Whis raise an eyebrow. "What? Can't I have another opportunity for him to cook for us while we're on the way there? Bloss is a long way from here, you know!"

Whis laughed. "Certainly, my Lord! I'll have the cube ready for us tomorrow."

"I'll be expecting something new and exciting from you, Chef," Beerus said, adding, "knowing your skills, I won't be disappointed."

"Thank you, Lord Beerus! Thank you, Mister Whis! I won't forget this. I owe you a great deal!"

"This sundae and the meal you'll be preparing for us tomorrow will be sufficient," Beerus assured him and quietly resumed eating.

Goku's mouth couldn't stop drooling at the ice cream. He had to stop himself when Beerus shot him a malevolent glare in his direction, waving back at the deities.

"Guess we'll leave you two to finish, then," Goku waved at the two. He placed his hand on Lemo's shoulder, two fingers to his forehead, disappointed he couldn't join in on tasting the dessert. "See ya tomorrow!"

When Goku and Lemo returned to Capsule Corporation, they inadvertently appeared in the middle of Cheelai kissing Broly. She froze mid-smooch when she spotted them and gently parted her lips from his.

Clearing her throat, she left Broly's lap and stood before them.

"So, um, how'd it go? I guess it went well if you're back here in one piece?"

"The sundae did the trick as I hoped it would," Lemo said, beaming with pride. "They'll take us, provided that I cook for them along the way. It's a small price to pay for their gracious aid."

He searched in one of his pockets for a notepad, removing the pen attached to it. He sat down and began writing.

"I've been thinking about what we'll need with us when we eventually arrive on Bloss. I'd rather plan this now for the long run before I eventually forget."

When he wrote all that he could think of, he closed the notepad and turned to the three. "Take it easy for the rest of the day. Ol' Lemo here'll do all the work."

"Are you sure? We'll gladly help," Cheelai offered, but Lemo waved her off. "You two have a thing going on, don't let me stop you. Just don't let me catch you two smooching so much."

That got a mischievous smirk from Cheelai. "Why's that? Afraid of a little affection between friends?"

Lemo narrowed his eyes and cleared his throat, walking away. "Keep that sappy stuff to yourselves!"

Cheelai giggled. Goku grinned at Broly with a determined smile. When Cheelai saw this, she sighed.

"He's not ready to spar with you guys yet. I'd rather he practice his meditation first before he goes off and fights you or Vegeta. I don't want the rest of this city destroyed."

"Aw, c'mon! Just a bit of fighting with Broly? I never got the chance before!" Goku pleaded, hands together in front of him.

"That depends on whether we'll expect another giant worm crawling underneath us," Cheelai said, reminding Goku of the last time he pleaded to spar with Broly.

"Uh, we don't have giant worms on Earth. Dinosaurs, but they're way over where I generally live, so that you won't find any here. Unless you count that one lab Bulma's dad runs with the Tyrannosaur roaming around."

Goku was so lost in thought he didn't notice Cheelai's cheeks puffed out in disgust and anger. She glared at him. "Then forget it!"

"Eh? Forget what?" Goku asked.

"Forget about sparring with Broly! Not with monsters roaming around with giant teeth that can bite and tear your flesh from your bones!"

Goku looked ready to plead even more, but Broly stepped forward. "I will be fine, Cheelai. I will spar with Kakarot."

Cheelai hung her head with a sigh. She casually stroked Broly's arm. "I can stop your bursts of anger, but I guess this desire to fight is something I have to get used to with you Saiyans roaming around, isn't it?"

She stared at Goku's toothy grin before he strolled happily to the gravity room. Squeezing Broly's hand, she pulled him down for another kiss. "Be careful in there. Don't let yourself get carried away."

"I will be fine. You're near where I can sense you," Broly assured her, even giving her an "OK" sign. She laid her hand against his chin and grinned, her cheeks glowing.

"Go, spar," she said, tapping him lightly.

As the Saiyans approached the Gravity room, Vegeta was inside, practicing his training drills.

"Hey, Vegeta! Can we come in too?" Goku shouted through the door.

There was a slight pause before the machine's humming inside stopped, and Vegeta opened the door.

"I expected you two to be training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber all day," he said.

"About that…"

Vegeta raised an eyebrow, then looked at Broly. He walked back in, leaving the door open for Goku and Broly to walk in. After Goku closed the door, he began to perform warm-up stretches. Broly studied Goku's movements and did his best to stretch before Vegeta re-activated the gravity machine.

"I can't believe we get to train together like this!" Goku said mid-stretch, excited as usual. When the gravity increased to 150Gs, Goku and Broly used the time to adjust their bodies to the increase. It was heavier to move around, which impeded their movement, but 150Gs was like a light workout for them due to their current strength.

Taking up his stance, Goku had his arm out front, ready for the first blow to hit. Broly mimicked Goku's stance slightly, then proceeded to move on him first. Vegeta rushed to block, and both Saiyans moved to flank Broly, who blocked and anticipated their movements as quickly as he could.

Broly's mood reflected itself in his movements. The more excited during the fight, the more prone to anger he became. Vegeta stopped and signaled at Goku to stop as well.

"Hold it. Broly, don't forget to be aware of the threshold of your temper," Vegeta advised him. Broly looked surprised and shook his head.

"Sorry."

"Don't apologize," Vegeta said. "Pay attention."

Broly nodded.

"Good. Start again."

The three moved around and continued this sparring to gauge the point where Broly was close to going over ultimately versus being aware of the moment and letting his adrenaline spike.

"The blood of the Saiyan warrior heightens their eagerness to fight. Don't forget that," Vegeta instructed, arms crossed. "You must acknowledge that eagerness and control it. It will take some time, but I assure you it can be done with the correct training."

"But won't that be difficult to do on his own? He's leaving tomorrow with the help of Whis and Lord Beerus," Goku said.

"What?"

Sighing loudly, Vegeta scoffed at the two. "Fine. We'll make the most of today to ensure that you have a full grasp of your fighting nature and what you can benefit from it."

He walked back to the panel, taking a moment to stare at the buttons.

"Broly'll be fine. I think he's learned quite a lot in a short amount of time anyway," Goku said confidently.

"So long as he doesn't rush his training," Vegeta added, looking directly at Broly.

"I am happy to learn a different way of training," Broly said, which made Goku grin. Even Vegeta couldn't hide the brief smile on his face.

"I'll be increasing the gravity to two-fifty," Vegeta warned, adjusting the dial. The machine hummed and compensated for the increase, which made things even heavier than before. Broly struggled at first, but his size and power adjusted to the increase reasonably quickly.

They trained for hours until dusk, while Cheelai aided Lemo to compile a list of things to take with them for their one-way trip to Bloss, acquiring the items afterward.

They stored everything into Capsules, which required several cases that Lemo loaded into a bag.

Lemo spent the rest of the day going over final training drills with the kitchen staff to ensure that they would carry on in his absence. He confided to them how proud he was of their growth, aiding him in satisfying the God of Destruction's palate itself. Cheelai spent a relaxing time soaking in a bubble bath with a bottle of wine Bulma selected for her enjoyment. It wasn't The Blossoming Nebula, but she didn't mind the fruity taste that came with it. She rested her head and closed her eyes, thinking about Broly.

When night came, many people gathered together in the dining area, personally invited by Bulma to celebrate one final night on Earth for Broly, Cheelai, and Lemo. They made a toast to their upcoming success. Broly, Goku, and Vegeta had one table to themselves, piled high with plates of food so large the non-Saiyans questioned whether there would be enough to fill their stomachs.

Vegeta wanted to be certain Broly knew as much of his heritage as he could, regaling him with Saiyan lore and the truth of the destruction of Planet Vegeta. He wanted to be certain Broly wouldn't have second thoughts concerning opposing Freeza in the future.

Goku nonchalantly asked Broly if he'd ever want to learn the fusion dance as well, which Vegeta shot down vehemently with the opinion that a fighter of that caliber would be too dangerous.

When everyone was ready to call it a night, Lemo stayed with the kitchen staff to clean up and organize everything before returning to the room he shared with Cheelai.

Cheelai and Broly had some time alone as they walked to her room.

"I have not been given a room, not since I destroyed the one I was in," Broly mentioned.

"But you have a room right here," Cheelai noted when she opened the door. She took Broly's arm and led him inside. Broly looked puzzled, noticing only two beds as Cheelai closed the door behind them. She sat on the end of the bed, grinning up at him.

"This room is too small for me," Broly said as he studied the room, yet Cheelai nodded at the bed she sat on.

"Plenty of room on this bed for two people."

She stood up and walked over to Broly, pulling him back to the bed. "Lemo's going to be in that kitchen for a while. We have the whole room to ourselves."

"I don't understand," Broly said, which got a chuckle from Cheelai.

"It's okay. You will in a few moments."

After some time passed, the clock on the wall read that it was nearly midnight. Lemo let out a yawn, stretching his arms. He almost fell asleep on the way.

The lights were out when he opened the door. He could make out two lumps on Cheelai's bed underneath a blanket, one small, one large. Articles of clothing were strewn about on the floor around the bed the lumps occupied. It took him a few seconds before he realized who was under that blanket.

"Guess I'd better get used to that now," he said to himself as he shook his head, removing his footwear before slumping himself on his bed. He was fast asleep the moment his head hit the pillow.

The following day, the large yard the balcony overlooked in the back of the domed building of Capsule Corporation was the setting for their departure. Beerus and Whis waited patiently with the cube behind them, a structure large enough to fit several individuals, encased in an energy field that was sturdy enough to deflect virtually anything, big or small.

Lemo retrieved the case containing his kitchen supplies and activated capsules with ingredients for dishes and appliances to cook them.

Goku stood with his family, pleased to see them off. Vegeta stood with Bulma while she had Bra in her arms, Trunks in between them.

Goku approached the trio with a bag in his hand, secured tightly with a cord. "I took the liberty of stopping by Korin's for some Senzu beans. You'll probably need them while you're there in case you train a lot."

Lemo took the bag and held it aloft. "I'll need to study these to find a way to grow a batch of our own.

Chi-chi approached Lemo next and handed him a book bound with a cord. "Here. All of my recipes are written in this book."

"Good gracious," Lemo noted, whistling. The book was quite thick when he held it in front of him. He was pleased to see her dedication to the art of cooking. "I will treasure these for the rest of my life. You have my word."

When she stood back beside Goku, Lemo and Cheelai bowed. "Thank you so much for having us, everyone!"

Cheelai, wearing a lovely flowing lavender skirt, twirled around in front of Bulma with a huge smile. "I think I can get used to cute clothes like these."

She then threw her arms around Bulma, cautiously avoiding to squish Bra in between them. "I'll never forget what you've done for us, Bulma. Thank you."

"You're quite welcome. Here, take this with you."

Bulma pulled out another case from her pocket and handed it to Cheelai. "It's a communications array, so we can keep in touch while you're there. It's sturdy enough to get you a signal through those cosmic storms."

Lemo approached her as well, taking her hand into his. "My lady, it has been an honor working with your staff. They studied well. Your dining experience will be astronomically better from now on."

"Thank you, Lemo," Bulma said. Vegeta and Goku both looked at each other, nodding. Catching Broly's attention, they both rushed him. Broly was ready, raising his hands with open palms to catch their fists as they rocked against them, shaking the area around them. They were all smiles, satisfied that they've managed to solidify their Saiyan bond in such a short amount of time.

The women rolled their eyes, of course, but it was to be expected. Once they loaded everything into the cube, Lemo, Cheelai, and Broly stepped through the opening created by Whis.

They turned and waved one last time at everyone before Whis activated the cube. It shone in a flash of light that launched itself off the ground. It only took milliseconds before the light was out of sight.

"Hey, Vegeta, I've been thinking," Goku said, which got a small chuckle from Vegeta.

"Thinking is what you do the least of, Kakarot."

That got a laugh from some of the family, which even got Goku to laugh too. "I'm serious, though!"

He stood beside Vegeta, hands behind his head as he watched the skies above. "I think we should amp up our training as much as possible, so we have a better fight against Broly next time."

"I was thinking the same, myself. Not only Broly, but the fighters from the Tournament of Power pushed us to our limits and beyond. I want you working on achieving that Ultra Instinct form again."

Vegeta smirked as he glanced to his side, and Goku chuckled. "I want that too. I can't ignore that possibility for too long."

As the cube traveled through space, Broly kept an eye on Whis, who occasionally would smile back admiringly.

"Have you been improving your temper over the last few days?" Whis asked him after a break in silence.

"It has been difficult," Broly replied.

Cheelai stroked his arm. "He's got a lot of help in that department," she said, not taking her eyes off him. Whis regarded them with intrigue.

"The beginnings of love are always the strongest until it settles," Whis stated, which made Cheelai and Broly blush. "Saiyans are extremely loyal to their mates once they've secured them. It's as natural to them as fighting."

Cheelai's eyes widened, astonished to hear that coming from him. But it dawned on her that the Saiyans she noticed were all with a woman of their own. Chi-chi, Bulma, Videl, all three had the look of satisfaction on their faces when it came to the men in their lives, and how it became reflected in the children they bore. It was one of many goals in her life, not only to live a carefree life traveling across the universe seeking thrills and treasures but to settle down and raise a family. She was eager to give it a try at least, now more than ever after seeing how happy the women were with their Saiyan mates.

"How long until we reach Bloss?" Lemo chimed in, working on preparing the ingredients for a soup.

"It will be several hours before we reach Planet Bloss," Whis informed him. He turned to see Beerus staring out at the cosmos as the stars streaked past the cube.

"You've been remarkably quiet, my Lord," he said.

"These Saiyans have unquestionably grown in strength much faster than I'm comfortable with," Beerus said. He didn't look at Broly when he said it, his gaze still forward.

"Are you worried that your status as Destroyer is in jeopardy with regards to their current power?"

"Don't be absurd, Whis," Beerus said. "As strong as they become, they still understand their place in the universe. I'm curious whether having these mortals around makes my job as a Destroyer easier or not."

He stared as several galaxies whizzed by the cube. Far off images of nebulae could be seen as they traveled, with Cheelai and Broly taking a moment to admire what they could see. Beerus eventually did glance at Broly.

"I'd hate to have to step in and slow down all this growth," Beerus said, his voice low enough for only Whis to hear.

"Understood, my Lord. At least with Broly and his companions living on Bloss, there's less likelihood of growing conflicts soon. He can calmly work on his anger management this way."

"I just don't want him to create a stir bad enough to destroy my source of quality cuisine. However, I am close to considering Lemo here as a suitable replacement for Earth's cuisine. If he keeps making me delicious food, I'll have no more need of Earth and can destroy it at my leisure."

Beerus barked a laugh, which made Lemo and Cheelai nervous. Swallowing, Lemo shut off all distractions and sped up his preparation.

"Uh, he's not serious, is he?" Cheelai carefully asked Whis. That made Beerus raise an eyebrow, backing her away with a panicked look.

"Sorry! I won't pry anymore, I promise!"

"It's quite alright, Miss Cheelai," Whis said calmly. "Lord Beerus is delighted at the variety of delectable cuisine at his disposal that adding Lemo's dishes will satisfy his appetite for a while."

Broly finally approached Whis with an apologetic look on his face. "I am sorry for attacking you."

"Oh?" Whis's eyebrows rose. "There's no need for apologies. I do find it fascinating that there is a Saiyan such as yourself whose power is directly linked to the state of his emotions. Saiyans generally grow stronger the more in control of their anger they are."

"Food's almost ready!" Lemo cried out, getting everyone's attention. Beerus's grin showed his sharp teeth, almost drooling in the process. Whis leaned over to Cheelai, examining her. He then sported a grin, which made her slightly uncomfortable.

"Is there something on me?" she asked, tilting herself back. Whis moved away from her. "Nothing important. Pay it no mind!"

"Weirdo," she muttered as he stood beside Beerus again. She wasn't sure why Whis looked at her specifically but didn't catch that he was staring at her stomach as he spoke.

After another feast, which Beerus noted was just as satisfying as always, the cube slowed its trajectory to arrive at a planetary system that looked fraught with cosmic storms. Cheelai stared uneasily at the frequent flashes of light off in the distance, rolling clouds of energy moving wildly. Her heart began to race, her extremities going cold as the sight of electrical discharge could be seen among the spatial cloud formation.

The storm itself was ominous and chaotic. Dark rolling clouds fired off lightning across the surface, lighting up the surrounding area.

"Once we clear these, Bloss will be on the other side," Whis said and directed the cube towards the storms.

Lemo and Cheelai gulped while Broly stared intensely. The closer the storms were, the deeper the feeling in their guts grew. It was significantly worse for Cheelai as her worst secret became known: she was deathly afraid of thunder and lightning.

Cheelai immediately went for Broly and wrapped her arms around him. It calmed her down, but as the cube penetrated the storm clouds, lightning struck the energy shield with a thunderous bang, causing her to let out a scream. She buried her face in Broly's abdomen.

"Um, B-Broly, I didn't say this before, but, um, I'm not that great with…thunderstorms…"

Another lightning strike caused a loud boom when it hit the cube, and she screamed again, clutching Broly tightly.

"Will this hold against the storms?" Lemo asked Whis.

"Of course, it would! What do you take us for?" Beerus interjected, sounding annoyed. He looked more annoyed at Cheelai's screaming each time an electric spark hit the energy barrier, but Whis was the calmest of the group.

"One more minute before we clear the storm," Whis said. Lemo turned to see Cheelai, reacting with another cry of terror from another electrical spark. Her terror caused her to break into sobs, which prompted Broly to hold her tightly against him.

"Well, this is embarrassing," Lemo shook his head, chuckling to himself. He almost wanted to use this as leverage to tease Cheelai but dismissed the idea. Best not to start riling up Broly at the expense of Cheelai's emotional torment.

One last discharge hit the back of the cube when it cleared the storm clouds. Whis and Beerus could see a planet appear before them, green and blue colors mixed nicely together along the surface. When Lemo got a good view of it, he remarked how incredibly similar to Earth it looked from what he could remember as he passed a chart with a diagram of Earth on it back at Bulma's laboratory.

"There she is. Planet Bloss," Whis said. The cube descended into the planet's atmosphere and flew to land on a large clearing. Large was an understatement. The green grass stretched out as far as the eye could see. Lakes, meadows, forests, mountains, and species of animals migrating across the land held the very picture of what everyone had seen of Earth. Even Beerus was impressed but would never outright speak his impressions.

Cheelai wiped her face, visibly shaken.

"Are you okay?" Broly asked. Cheelai didn't say anything except give him a nod. She kept her eyes closed, and her arms still gripped tightly around him. She needed a moment to take in a few deep breaths to calm herself down and gradually loosened her hold.

She noticed that both Whis and Lemo were staring at her, wondering if she was still coherent.

"I'm so embarrassed right now," Cheelai said with a small laugh. "I used to hide in the closet when I was a little girl whenever it thundered outside. That cosmic storm looked and sounded too much like it."

Whis conjured a glass of water to hand over to Cheelai. "Thank you."

"Oh, you're quite welcome, Miss Cheelai." Lemo gathered everything and returned them to their capsules, hoisting the bag on his shoulders. As he stepped out of the cube, the planet's beautiful palette of colors was laid out before him, and his jaw dropped. What surprised him more was the sunlight.

"I, I can't believe it. It's not just Bloss. There's a whole planetary system concealed within that cosmic storm, isn't there, Mister Whis?"

"Your assumption is correct, Mister Lemo," Whis said. He conjured the planetary system on a projection from his staff, showing eight planets rotating around a yellow sun with the cosmic storm clouds acting as an outer layer that surrounded the entire system.

"In a few days, these points that are shown here," Whis explained, highlighting small gaps in the 'ring' of storms. "will weaken. A ship would only have a few minutes to pass through before the gaps strengthen, closing off the system. In this system, one other planet houses alien life, but they are still primitive, not quite evolved yet to invent space travel. I'd give them at least a few thousand years before they evolve the intelligence to invent such technology."

"It'd give us something to do in the future if we want to visit them and teach a few things to them," Lemo said, staring up at the sky.

"I'd advise against that," Whis interjected immediately. "As gods, we must still respect the natural development of civilized planets. We expect no less from mortals, even though they seldom do cooperate."

"Fine with me. We can spend some time exploring what this planet has to offer before we settle down."

"A word of advice," Beerus said as he approached Lemo. "Consider this a rare gift from us, one that you shouldn't take too lightly. I intend to pay a visit now and then to ensure that you've been responsible for this planet and satisfy my palate. Otherwise…"

Beerus conjured a small sphere of destruction energy from the tip of his finger. "Consider this your only warning."

"Understood, Lord Beerus. We will care for this planet like one of our own," Lemo said, bowing to him.

Eyes widening, he snapped his fingers and quickly retrieved a small case from his bag, labeled "For Beerus and Whis" on the top. He handed it to Beerus.

"I almost forgot! I prepared some treats for you two to snack on after you head back to your world. They have a good shelf life, so they will last if you ever have a craving now and again."

"You're stacking up the flattery quite a bit," Beerus said with a smirk on his face. "Just don't get too cocky with it."

"I won't, sir!"

When Cheelai was calm enough to walk around, she and Broly were the last to exit the cube. Her eyes widened at the sight of Bloss. Broly himself was taken by surprise by how everything looked.

"I can't believe it. It looks so much like Earth it's almost scary," she said. She knelt and felt the grass. "Even the grass feels soft!"

"Guys, we shouldn't keep the deities waiting," Lemo reminded them. Broly and Cheelai turned to face Beerus and Whis, and Cheelai bowed at the two.

"Thank you for the trip. I'm terribly sorry for freaking out earlier," Cheelai said nervously, directly solely at Beerus. She wasn't sure what sort of look Beerus gave her since it had a neutral feel to it, but Whis's constant polite grin as he retracted the cube into his staff never wavered in the slightest.

"Remind those guys on Earth not to be a stranger and contact us now and then, alright?" Lemo suggested to Whis, who graciously nodded in response.

"Of course."

Beerus gave the trio a small bow with a hand to his heart and then placed it on Whis's back. The pair vanished in pure light that flew off the planet, leaving the three alone on Bloss.

"So what shall we tackle first?" Lemo asked. Cheelai laid on the grass, moving her arms up and down along the soft texture.

"We have a house packed in a capsule, Lemo. Let's explore the planet and camp whenever nightfall rolls around. We've got our whole lives ahead of us to see what this planet has to offer."

"I suppose that's true," Lemo said. He examined one of the capsule cases labeled "Food Storage" and placed it back into the bag. The other case read "House and Gravity Room."

Organizing the rest of the cases, he zipped up the bag and put it back onto his shoulders. Broly extended his hand out to him.

"I can carry that."

"Nah, I'm good, big guy. Ready, everyone? Let's take one giant step forward to a new life!"

The three stood silently, taking in the atmosphere before they began walking.

Back out in the cosmos, Whis and Beerus traveled back to their homeworld.

"Ugh, those damn Saiyans. They've gone and made me too docile, Whis."

"I think the term you're looking for is 'compassionate,' my Lord," Whis replied. Beerus, sitting cross-legged with his hand still on Whis's back, let out a sigh.

"In any case, I've got some fishing to resume with the Oracle Fish when we return." Beerus stifled a yawn, resting his head on his hand. He began to nod off due to the length of the trip, yet Whis was still awake enough to handle the ease of the trek back home. His staff blinked a couple of times, and he peered inside. When he saw what image the sphere produced, he frowned.

"Hm. He's still at it, isn't he?" Whis noted to himself but let the image fade out.

At around the same time, Patrolman Jaco was summoned to Chief Krill's office. When he entered the room, he expected Abbalo to stand by to greet him, but she was nowhere to be seen.

"Patrolman, good timing," Krill said as Jaco saluted him.

"Sir, I don't see Miss Abbalo. In fact, I haven't seen her all morning."

"She has been assigned to a different unit. I can't have her involved in this, not while she's still a rookie."

Krill slid a document across his desk for Jaco to read. When Jaco opened it, his face drained, eyes widening. He closed the document quickly and laid it back on the desk, swallowing.

"No one was thrilled to see this when it came to my desk. The Galactic King already dispatched Agent Merus to lead a squad to Earth to retrieve Majin Buu as we speak."

"Agent Merus? Then it really is as dire as what this document portends?"

Krill breathed a heavy sigh through his mustache. "I need you on standby here, Jaco. I expect Merus to retrieve those two Saiyans as well, but they must be kept on the down-low in the meantime until they are properly briefed. There is another issue at hand that will need to be addressed, but priority is reserved solely for Buu's retrieval. Until then, this must be kept strictly confidential. Understood?"

"Understood, sir."

"Dismissed," Krill said, setting the document to the side. Jaco felt a chill run up his spine as he exited the room. He hoped to see Abbalo one last time before this case needed his undivided attention but knew that he was relieved she would not be involved due to the nature of this potential calamity.

Epilogue – Five Years Later

A warm summer breeze blew across the fields of Bloss. Lemo paused from planting a fresh crop of vegetables to feel the wind kiss his sweat glistened face as he breathed in the fresh air. He leaned against his hoe and pulled out a handkerchief to wipe his face. Broly's twin boys sparred in the distance. Yet as he paid closer attention, it looked more like a scuffle.

"C'mon you two, break it up," Lemo said, letting the hoe drop to step between them before one threw another punch at the other. "What happened now?"

One of the boys cracked the other while he was distracted from Lemo with a fist that hit him square in the nose, sending him to the ground. The one who hit him wiped the blood from his nose and sniffled a few times, glaring down at him.

"Now we're even, Choi," he said. Lemo reached out with his hand to help Choi back up. The twins had wild hair like their father, Broly, but they had light green skin and white hair like their mother, Cheelai. Choi shoved Bok back, forcing Lemo to intervene even more.

"Cut it out, you two!" Lemo barked, restraining Choi.

"He started it!" Bok cried out.

"Stop lying!" Choi retorted.

Lemo groaned. "How the hell am I supposed to get any work done if I have to keep you two off each other?" Lemo said. He glanced up to see Broly shadow fighting on his own in the air. Grabbing the two boys by their arms, he walked them forward towards their father.

"Broly! Your boys are at it again!" Lemo cried out. Broly stopped and landed in front of his sons.

"Talk." He scowled at them. Their feistiness in the way they kept fighting each other tested Broly's limits. There were times when he'd lose his temper, and it would scare the twins enough to stop immediately. Those times needed Cheelai to step in so she could calm him down while the boys ran back into the house.

Their silence made Broly glare down at them even more.

"Bok stole something from mama's dresser!" Choi was the first to break it, pointing his finger at him.

"Is that so?" Broly said, crossing his arms.

"No, I didn't!" Bok whined. "You're the one who stole mama's bracelet! Give it back!"

"Show me," Broly ordered. Choi slowly pulled back his shirt's sleeve, and one of Cheelai's bracelets was around his wrist.

"It's not right to take things from other people," Lemo told them.

"Why? Mama still does it," Choi said, wiping blood from his cut lip. He didn't care that he broke Bok's nose (it wasn't the first time), freeing himself from Lemo's grasp. He was about to take to the air to pull Lemo up with him, but Broly stopped him with a stern glare.

"You can let them go, Lemo. I'll take it from here," Broly said. He took his sons by their arms, walking them to their house.

Cheelai was asleep in a chair. Her belly had grown huge with a second pregnancy, her due date a month away. Her hair had grown longer since her departure from Earth years ago. Lemo needed to add hairstylist to his list of talents, yet he could make a decent job cutting her hair so that it stayed shoulder-length. She grew to love the longer locks and even noticed how often Broly would run his fingers through it with an admiring eye.

The sound of the door opening startled her awake. She blinked the disorientation away and adjusted herself in her chair. Her hand went to her stomach, feeling a kick from inside.

Broly nudged his boys forward, frowning. Cheelai stared at them, sighing. "Not again."

"Choi stole one of your bracelets," Broly said and nudged Choi forward. He gave Cheelai her bracelet back.

"What do we say, Choi?" Cheelai asked. Her stern gaze made Choi avert his eyes until she cleared her throat.

"Sorry, mama," Choi muttered.

"Go clean yourselves up and stay in your room until dinner is ready," Broly commanded. When the boys took off to the bathroom, Broly knelt on one knee to place his hand on Cheelai's stomach. He felt a kick and smiled.

"She's been incredibly contentious. She kicks more often than they did," she said.

"Have you thought of a name for her? I was thinking of going with Arugula," Broly said.

Another kick and Cheelai winced a bit. "Dunno if that was her liking the name or hating it."

Upon discovering she was pregnant, Cheelai was overwhelmed with happiness. She was surprised how soon it happened after sharing her first intimate moment with Broly but accepted the outcome. They set up the communications array to contact Bulma to ask her about advice for becoming new parents. Bulma also coached them through the whole pregnancy, with Lemo acting as wetnurse to help deliver healthy twin boys named Bok and Choi, names Cheelai chose herself. But for this one, she drew a blank and figured Broly would have something more creative. When she heard Arugula's name, she chuckled in her head, realizing that it was another Saiyan name. She realized she would've gone with something ridiculous instead. After repeating the name in her head several times, it sounded like a good fit for a girl. She could see the anguish on Broly's face when he stared back at her, and they both sighed.

"Choi had stolen things from you before," Broly stated.

"So has Bok, but he stopped that habit after I punished him. I don't know why Choi won't listen as much."

Broly shook his head. "Does that make me a bad father?"

The look Cheelai gave him shut him up quickly. "Sorry."

"You're a wonderful dad, Broly. We'll make sure they don't misbehave as they grow up. Once Arugula arrives, they must be good brothers to her."

Broly's eyes lit up as he stood, staring behind him. "Someone just arrived."

Cheelai's face almost went white. "But how?!"

Broly narrowed his eyes, focusing on the presence outside. His face calmed down after a moment, and he grinned. "I know this energy. It's from Kakarot."

"Kakarot…why does that name sound familiar?" Cheelai asked. It had been a while since she heard Broly say that name, but it clicked much slower for her than it did for Broly that Kakarot was the name Broly used to call Goku, per his request.

"Oh, right. Goku…"

Cheelai needed Broly to help her to her feet, and he led her to the door. When they opened it, Goku was busy chatting with Lemo. When he spotted the couple at the door, he waved at them.

"Yo, Broly! It's great to see you again!"

Both Saiyans were surprised at the outfits the other was wearing. To Goku, Broly wore simple loose-fitting gi clothes rather than the tight-fitting purple spandex and boots. He even noticed that the pelt Broly wore around his waist was not present. For Broly, it was the first time he had seen Goku in a little over five years, and Goku was no longer in his orange and blue gi. It was a lighter blue with a white belt around his waist and softer looking boots than what he usually wore. Goku looked more surreal and at ease with his demeanor than what Broly could remember.

"It wasn't easy, but I was able to sense your energy while you were training," Goku noted, putting two fingers to his forehead. Broly remembered Goku using that teleportation technique before, and seeing that familiar pose jogged his memory.

"I remember hearing when those storm clouds were going to be weaker to give me a clear enough energy signature to teleport. I'm familiar enough with Earth to go back so that I can teleport you guys there anytime you'd like!"

"I'd love to see everyone again, Goku, but that'll have to wait," Cheelai said, hands on her stomach. Goku's eyes widened as his jaw dropped.

"Woah, your belly's so huge! You became a mom after all!" Goku laughed, nudging Broly. "Congratulations, you two!"

"She'll be our third. We have twin boys in their room right now," Cheelai told him. Goku was even more surprised.

"Amazing! You guys must be awesome parents, huh?"

Cheelai chuckled, stroking Broly's arm. "I'm sure you two want to catch up and train. Go ahead."

"Yes!" Goku shouted. He took to the air, getting a better view of the planet. "This planet's incredible! It looks just like Earth, except there's so much more grass and trees and stuff! I don't see any cities or anything like that."

"You honestly think I'm going to build a city on this planet, Goku?" Lemo grunted, rolling his eyes. He removed his gloves and brought his farming tools back into his shed, located beside his own capsule house. A house of his own was among the items he had compiled on his list before he, Broly, and Cheelai left Earth for Bloss.

Broly joined Goku in the air. The two flew around for a while before they found an elevated plateau to land.

"I can tell you've been working hard on your anger, Broly. Your aura looks much calmer than it did five years ago!" Goku said, noting the way Broly presented himself.

"I have been training on that the most. Though raising children of my own has been challenging to my training."

"I've been hard at work training myself. There's a boy I've been helping to master his energy control so he can use his powers to their fullest. Here's the kicker: He's the reincarnation of Majin Buu!"

"Majin Buu? Who is that?"

Goku was surprised but then barked a laugh. "Sorry! I forgot you never met Majin Buu! A lot has happened over the last five years!"

Goku and Broly sat, with the Earth Saiyan regaling Broly with what had happened. Broly patiently listened, thrilled to hear about Goku learning so many new things, mastering his ability to achieve Ultra Instinct and many other adventures.

Broly's tale wasn't as numerous as Goku's, yet he spoke at length about fatherhood's challenges, comparing that to how his father, Paragus, raised him. His voice sounded excited when he brought up Cheelai's second pregnancy and eagerly awaited his daughter's arrival.

"Well, now that we're all caught up, I think it's time I test how good you've become since you left Earth," Goku said as he rose. Broly was on his feet too and placed his hands together, bowing at Goku.

"Are you going to show me your Ultra Instinct, Kakarot?" Broly asked. Goku dismissed his question with a laugh.

"I can't do that! I'd wreck this great planet of yours!"

"Is it that powerful?" Broly asked.

"Yeah. Not only that, but you wouldn't be able to lay a finger on me if I did go into Ultra Instinct," Goku said confidently. Broly chuckled.

"I have been able to control my great ape power and am more self-aware of it," Broly said. He clenched his fists and flared up his energy. A green aura surrounded him as his eyes shifted from black to yellow, yet what Goku remarked on was that there was no visible sign of anger in Broly's face as he changed.

"Wow! That's awesome! I can feel your power surge so much, yet you're still this calm!"

"I'm ready when you are, Kakarot."

"Oh yeah! I've been waiting a long time for this!" Goku moved into a fighting stance, calm and confident.

The two began, flying at one another with their fists connecting against each other.

The End

Author's Note

I'm ecstatic to have written a better version of this story. I've come a long way since I first wrote this story as a simple sex-fic for adults with the elements of a story, yet it showed that there was so much room for growth and improvement, not only in terms of narrative but how I wrote it.

I'm glad that the story presented to us from the Broly movie opened up a lot of doors to interpret how the adventures of Broly, Lemo, and Cheelai would proceed. I chose the most common approach with developing their friendship into a romance between Broly and Cheelai, which I've bridged with my Ascension story.

This story was my interpretation of what Broly, Cheelai, and Lemo were up to before the Moro arc. What Akira Toriyama has in mind with regards to where he wants to take these three characters is still a mystery. They could have space adventures, join up with Goku and Vegeta as they travel to Universe 6, or become involved with the next arc. I don't intend on writing fanfics that tie in what happened to what I had written in Ascension already. The Moro arc is as far as I'd go back in established Dragonball canon to include in my fanfic from now on.

Ascension, Part 2 will start soon as I've got other projects to start on in the meantime, but I can assure you, dear reader, that I've got some awesome stuff coming for everyone.

Until then, stay safe, and support the official release.
