Back from the dead once more!

For some reason, every chapter that took place during High School Musical 2 gave me major writers block, so chapters took forever to type, like this one. I listened to the soundtrack and remembered all these plans I had for when I would type the chapters for High School Musical 3. Trust me, you will all like these twists I came up with. I am trudging my way through this chapter so you can hopefully see the first update for the third movie events soon.

Twist in Time: Rewrite still has top priority.

The next morning started out just like any other at Lava Springs Country Club. Club members ate breakfast on the terrace, golfers walked out to the range, and tennis players warmed up their serves. The peaceful atmosphere was torn to shreds by a piercing scream, shouting, "WHAT?!"

On the outside stage is where Stefan and Leah stood, completely flabbergasted as their grand-daughter stood defiantly in the audience with Ben standing supportively next to her.

"What do you mean you won't do the show!" Leah interrogated in an outraged tone. "You are the main performance! Do you really want to end our winning streak?"

"I don't care about winning!" Audrey exclaimed, almost as though she was competing with her grandmother to be the loudest. "The only thing I cared about this year was having fun with my friends. You two decided they couldn't compete, which meant I couldn't compete either."

"What are you talking about?" Stefan questioned in confusion. "We did nothing to stop you from performing."

"Audrey is an employee too," Ben revealed, his arms crossed over his chest to help prevent him from losing his temper. "She works part-time."

"No, she doesn't."

"Yes, I do!" Audrey argued defiantly. "While you two make everyone's life a living hell, I go around to pick up the pieces left behind by the employees that quit because of you."

"Young lady!" Leah exclaimed, flabbergasted. "You need to watch your language!"

"Says the woman that made someone quit for her offensive language," Audrey retorted snidely. "I'm not doing the show, so good luck finding someone who will last minute."

"Ben can sing by himself then," Stefan abruptly decided. "He is an honorary club member."

"Not anymore," Ben denied matter-of-factly. "I asked Aurora for my old kitchen job back. You forced the other job on me because you wanted to get on my good side. I will only do the show if my friends do the show with me. I'm sure those who are buying the resort wouldn't be as excited to see me as their waiter than as a performer."

Fuming for a few moments, Stefan relented, "Alright! Fine! Your friends can do the show! Does that make you happy?"

"Very," Audrey agreed. "But I'm still not doing the show."

Walking away before the adults could make another comment or argue with them, the teenagers gave each other a fist bump in victory. "Phase one is complete," Ben mumbled so the adults couldn't hear them. "Now we are ready for phase two."

Later that evening in the Fae residence, Mal was working on her latest painting when Jay, Evie, and Carlos burst into her bedroom. Evie went straight to her best friend's closet and began searching for the perfect dress for the occasion.

Mal carefully set her paints down before she interrogated, "What are you—"

"Yell at us in the car," Jay bluntly interrupted. "We're going to be late."

She tilted her head in confusion. "Why aren't you working the show?"

Bringing out a dark purple, black, and pink dress from the closet, Evie grinned mischievously. "We are. Get dressed and meet us downstairs."

Mal shook her head stubbornly. "I'm not going back to the country club."

"Try to explain that to Ben and Audrey," Carlos suggested with a knowing smirk. "Our show is back in. Ben and Audrey convinced Leah and Stefan to revoke that dumb employee rule, but Audrey decided to back out of the show to irritate them."

"She didn't need to do that," Mal argued. "She was so excited about finally doing a solo."

"This is only part one of their plan," Jay claimed with a smirk of his own. "There is something else they plan on doing, with the help of your dad and uncles. I believe they called their plan 'Justice for Diaval'."

Mal perked up at hearing her 'uncle's' name. A mischievous smile formed on her lips as Mal outstretched her arm, her hand forming a fist. "We are rotten . . ."

Evie, Jay, and Carlos outstretched their fists as well so they could meet together. With a satisfactory gleam in their eyes, all four chanted, "To the core!"

Back at the country club, an old magician named Merlin was trying his best to perform his tricks. He tried to pull a rabbit out of his hat, but instead pulled out a bouquet of flowers. Ben's parents watched the act in consternation as they tried to process the strange performance.

"What do you think?" Mr. Adams asked his wife.

"Well . . . I think he is trying his best," Belle answered carefully. "I'm sure Ben will be doing his best during the show as well."

"It is ridiculous that he's performing in the first place," 'Beast' snapped bitterly. "He's just lucky Stefan convinced me it was to help him with the college scouts at U of A. Ben is not a singer; he's a Tourney players."

"Darling, you know I agree with you," Belle reassured in her attempt to soothe her husband. "I just don't see how you can get so riled up about the issue so easily."

"I don't see how you can act so calm about it," Mr. Adams retorted in a quiet tone, mainly to prevent anyone from eavesdropping on their conversation.

"If he sees you aggravated, Ben will keep finding ways to perform to annoy you," Belle informed knowledgeably. "Ben is going through a rebellious stage in his teenage years. Just keep smiling. He'll stop when he sees you're not angered by his actions."

"How can you be so sure?"

With a glimmer in her eyes, Belle teased, "Because a mother always knows best for her child. Singing is not what is best for Ben. He'll see that eventually."

-Line Break-

A few minutes later, when the magician ended his 'grand' performance, Stefan had been strolling through the audience to greet the scholarship committee for U of A when he suddenly paused.

"Young lady," Stefan called out, catching the attention of some of the audience. "What do you think you are doing here? Didn't my wife fire you a couple days ago?"

Sparing a moment to wipe the food off her lips, Uma corrected, "No, I quit a couple days ago because of you and your wife's treatment toward me and a fellow co-worker. My cousin was practically terrified of going anywhere near you because of your vial mouth."

"Watch how you speak to me, you sea-witch" Stefan warned with a nasty glare. "I can ban you from this establishment before you have a chance to blink."

"You should watch how you speak to my niece."

Turning to look at the table behind him, Stefan scowled at the man who spoke up and decided to stand to prove a point. Stefan's facial expression grew even more grim when he noticed the man's unnatural blue hair, which certainly didn't go well with his all-black suit. "Who do you think you are?" Stefan spat in disgust. "This is my resort—"

"Is it?" The man challenged with feign interest. "I believe it was your son-in-law who used to own it."

" 'Used to'?" Stefan repeated incredulously, his temper growing worse by the minute. "What are you talking about?"

"He sold it to my brother, whose granddaughter you just insulted," the man informed. "He, myself, and our youngest brother each own a third of our family company. I'm sure you've heard of it before. It's called 'The Big Three'."

Stefan instantly paled at the name, knowing it to be the most successful company in the world. Clearing his throat of the lump that formed in fear, the old man began, "Y-you're—"

"Aidoneus Fae," the man introduced himself, his vibrant blue eyes seeming to glow in anger. "Everyone calls me by my business name, Hades, except for my wife and daughter, both of which you managed to torment. I honestly wonder how you can call yourself a business-man with how terrible you treat people, your employees, and your co-workers."

"I-I don't know your wife," Stefan terribly fibbed. "I don't know who your daughter is either."

The beautiful woman that sat next to Hades chuckled at the claim. "You always were a terrible liar."

With the help of her husband, Maleficent unsteadily stood from her seat, smiling unkindly at the even more frightened manager. "Hello, Stefan," she greeted bluntly. "You haven't changed from the last time I saw you, where you stole not only my ability to walk, but the custody of my god-daughter."

"I-I did no such—"

"Daughter," a man nicknamed 'Zeus', who sat at Uma's table, called to the blonde-haired, grey-eyed woman—who wore a business suit attire—that sat next to him. "I believe now would be the appropriate time."

Standing from her seat, the woman pulled out her police badge from her pocket. "Mr. Rose, I am Detective Minerva Olympia from Auradon Police Department," Minerva introduced herself as she smoothly replaced her badge with a pair of handcuff. "You are under arrest for indirect contempt of court, first-degree attempted murder of Maleficent Fae, and for the first-degree murder of Diaval Raven. You don't need to worry about your wife, sir. My partner already arrested her backstage of the show."

Even with the handcuffs being places on him, Stefan couldn't believe that this was actually happening to him. He only knocked out of his daze when a vast majority of the audience applauded his apprehension, as most never really cared for him. For the rest of the way to the vehicle, Stefan was quite belligerent to the officer.

As she watched the dreadful man be dragged away, Maleficent heard an excited squeal occur behind her. As the woman turned around, she came face to face with a girl she hadn't seen in nearly twenty years. Subtly hiding her own happiness and surprise, Maleficent smiled beautifully at the girl, greeting softly, "Hello, Beasty."

"Mother!" Aurora cried, running toward the woman, and tightly embracing her, much to Maleficent's surprise. Sobbing softly, Aurora declared, "I've missed you so much."

Unsure of what to say, Maleficent returned the hug, pleased to have her daughter returned to her—

And that there was finally justice for Diaval.

From behind the stage, Mal and Ben had watched the entire scene transpire. "I told you they would get what was coming to them," Ben insisted with a teasing tone in his voice. "Our performance is next. Are you ready?"

Turning to face her prince, Mal smiled, quoting, "It starts with you and me."

A few minutes later, everyone in the performance got into their positions—

But it wasn't on stage.

Instead, the performance took place in the viewing area with the audience. When the group was practicing the dance routine of their song a couple days ago, more employees saw and wanted to be a part of it. With the number of performers nearly tripled, Carlos suggested an idea that would make the performance more pleasurable to watch.

Ben and Mal started off the song by the stage, gazing lovingly into each other's eyes as the circled one another before they separated.

Suddenly, all of the workers in the walking aisles gracefully turned to face the couple in sync. As the beat picked up, they all—including Ben and Mal—started singing and dancing within the audience! The spectators couldn't believe the group of teenagers could pull of such a stunt, especially with how many performers there were in that one song. The audience quite enjoyed the routine because it felt as though they were part of it as well!

As the song came to a close, Mal and Ben had returned to the stage while their friends and fellow entertainers somehow managed to return to the exact place they were when the song began. With the music faded away, those workers bowed in unison at the couple, as though they were royalty.

Everything was quiet for just a moment, until the entire audience stood with roaring cheers and enthusiastic applause.

Lumiere stepped onstage, holding the Star Dazzle award. "Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of this year's Star Dazzle award is, of course, our one and only—"

Before he could finish, Audrey grabbed the microphone and announced, "My brother, Carlos Rose!"

Once more the audience cheered as the surprised boy gladly went up the stage to claim the trophy. Everyone 'awed' and 'cooed' when Audrey hugged her brother and gave him a sisterly kiss on the cheek as a reward.

While her friends were celebrating, Mal snuck away to greet her parents when she noticed a couple people that had 'magically' appeared. "Fairy Godmother?" she greeted in confusion as she stood between her mother and father. "Maurice? When did you get here?"

"Just before your performance started," Fairy Godmother informed. "Maurice and I are old friends so we decided we would go to this talent show together."

"You did a wonderful job, Your Highness," Maurice complimented with a kind smile. "That performance was made for a royal occasion."

"Perhaps a cotillion," Fairy Godmother suggested. "It has certainly given me a few ideas for the spring musical. Hopefully, you can convince your friends to participate, 'Lady Mal'."

Eyes gleaming happily at her 'title', Mal reassured, "I'm sure I can work something out."
