After roaming the streets for what felt like forever, Lyra decided to head back home. She knew what was in store for her when her mother sees her again, the idea scared Lyra but she was ready.

Walking towards the building, Lyra was expecting to see Magisterium men guarding or even walking around the complex. Nothing, it was like an ordinary day in London. The greeter greeted Lyra with a smile, the man at the elevator did the same. Lyra was starting to get more worried now.

Reaching the top floor, the doors open, and the first thing Lyra noticed was all the servants moving around the flat with bags.

"What's happening?"

One of the servants stopped and looked at Lyra.

"Oh, your back miss Lyra, your mother is in your room she'll want to see you"

Super confused Lyra went to her room to see why all the furniture is being covered and the servants moving and packing bags.

"Mother?"

Maria looks up from the dresser she was grabbing clothes from.

"Oh, you're back. What happened you got bored? This needs to stop Lyra"

"What's happening? Why is everything getting covered, are you going away again and sending me off?"

"No Lyra, you are coming with me this time"

Shocked as she never expected to hear those words come out of her mother's mouth.

"So where are we going? Is it to do with the Magisterium?"

"We are going to Geneva where I've been working for the last few months. Go grab your books please we leave in five minutes"

Under protest, Lyra followed her mother's instructions and placed all her schoolbooks in a bag and waited by the elevator. The servants were taking turns one by one going up and down the elevator taking Marisa's and Lyra's bags down to the foyer to be collected. Once the final check was done to make sure nothing was left behind or forgotten Marisa and Lyra made their way down.

"Mother, what do you do in Geneva and what will I be doing?"

Marisa ignored her child's question and walked out of the elevator with her head held high and straight to the car that was waiting for them.

The car ride was quiet, Lyra often thought about opening the car door and jumping but when her mother wasn't watching she tested to see if the door would open, and it was locked. The rest of the way Lyra just stared at the window, not knowing when she'll see the sky again.

About an hour later they arrived at this private airfield where there was a zeppelin waiting for them. This wasn't like the one she was on when she moved to London with her mother, this one was fancy in so many ways.

"Wow, this is just as fancy as the flat. Look how shiny everything is"

Once Marisa and Lyra were on the zeppelin, Marisa showed Lyra her room and if she wanted anything just to ring a bell and a servant will come and escort her to the little kitchen on board. Lyra didn't really care about her room or food, she just wanted to return to her room in the flat.

Night-time has fallen, Lyra and Marisa are still in the air. Marisa noticed Lyra was getting tired, but she didn't want to push Lyra to go to bed. Within five minutes Lyra was out on the little chair she was sitting on with Pan curled up on her stomach. Marisa went and got a blanket to cover Lyra then kissed her child on the forehead and said "Good night Lyra"

Lyra winced at her mother's touch, as Marisa was standing up, she saw a small smile come across Lyra's lips.

Something woke Lyra. A loud bang and the zeppelin swaying violently in the air. Lyra was getting scared as this was a new experience with flying in the air for long periods. Marisa comes running out of her room after she heard lyra scream. Lyra ran to her mother for comfort as she didn't like the swaying feeling.

A servant come out to Marisa and Lyra to let them know the zeppelin will be making an emergency landing in the next town till the storm and heavy winds stop. Marisa just nods her head; she didn't want to land as Lyra has never wanted to be this close before and Marisa wanted to cherish every second of her child holding onto her.

Before they could arrive at the next town, the storm and the wind stopped just like magic. Marisa announced she was going back to her room to try and sleep more. Lyra was still clinging to her mother, as much as Lyra hated this feeling she had towards her mother for once in her life she was scared.

"Please don't leave me" blurted out Lyra

Both the daemons and Marisa had a shocked look on their faces. Pan was the most shocked as he knows how his human really feels about the woman.

"Oh Lyra" Marisa cups her child's face "You'll be fine dear. Just think of being on a swing, the feeling passes" Marisa wanted to comfort her child, but this was one thing Lyra had to adjust to knowing they will be travelling a lot in the next few months.

"HA, who needs her anyway. I can comfort you Lyra" Pan said as he nuzzled into his human's neck.

"Thanks Pan. Sadly, this time I oddly only want to be comforted by her"

Lyra and Pan sit on the bed and stare at the lightning outside their window. In between the lightning Lyra could see something fly fast past her window. "Are they witches?" She thought to herself. Every time she saw one fly past, she urged Pan to look, but her never saw what his human saw.

"Maybe you're just tired Lyra"

"Hmm, I think you may be right Pan"

Eventually Lyra falls asleep listening to the thunder. When she woke, they were still in the air, feeling a bit queasy she walked to the kitchen to find something to settle her stomach. Her mother sitting at the table doing some paperwork. Marisa looks up for a split second then back down to her work.

"The kitchen is closed Lyra; we will be landing shortly. When we settle you can then have something to eat.

"But I feel sick" Lyra said in a whiney voice.

Marisa gives Lyra the look, the look that means business if she doesn't stop whinging. Lyra in return crosses her arms and stomps her foot, she doesn't care if her mother attacks her.

Marisa rubs her temples "Lyra if you are going to act in such a vulgar, childish way, there will be consequences. Now please sit down, we will be landing soon"

Lyra just glares at her mother "NO"

Not having the patience to put up with an immature child, let alone a mini Asriel, Marisa sets her daemon onto Pan.

The two daemons start fighting, Pan constantly changing trying to get an upper hand on the golden monkey. He could hear Lyra cry out in pain knowing this is hurting her as much as it is hurting him.

"Stop it, you're hurting us"

"When we land, you will be sweet, charming, innocent, delightful, just as children should be. Do you understand?"

"You can't treat me like this, I am your daughter"

"When you start acting like a proper young lady and not in childish way, this won't happen"

The golden monkey stops attacking Pan and goes to stand beside his human.

"Now please go change, I will not have you come off this airship looking like that"

Lyra gets up and heads to her room while slamming the door behind her. "I'll just stay in here then" Lyra mumbles to herself.

A voice came over the PA to let the passengers know they were descending and will be grounded in roughly ten minutes.

Once landed Marisa walks out first, then not long after Lyra walks out.

"Ahh Mrs. Coulter, you finally arrived" the duo was greeted by Cardinal Sturrock and Father MacPhail
