This story is also under my former main account and my new backup.

The beginning takes place during The Secret Circle book, "The Power," and will have the book characters, but it will be kind of different. I'll do my best to make this a good story. Thanks for reading.

I do NOT OWN the rights for the books, characters, settings, etc. They are all owned by LJ Smith.

Cassie's POV:
Diana had just let me have the Chalcedony Rose and Melanie explained that Adam and I were meant to be together due to the silver cord between us. "The Silver Cord is something real, something in the old legends. The people it connects are soulmates-you know, meant to be together. When Diana and I heard about I, we knew that's what you and Adam are." Melanie finished, sounding like she was happy to be done explaining to people who wouldn't look at her.

"That is why I was so surprised about Nick, you see," Diana said, gently. "because I knew you could only love Adam. I was going to tell you at the very beginning, but you were asking me to give you another chance, to let you prove that you could be faithful and I thought it was a good idea. Not for me, but for you because you could see how strong you are, Cassie."

I nodded, mutely. "Diana-" .

She blinked, her emerald eyes misting over. "Now you're going to make me cry." She said and continued. "Cassie, with all the unselfishness around here, do you really think I'm not going to do my part? You two have been waiting for months because of me. Now you don't have to wait any longer." A/N: This is where my version of the story starts.

I looked around at everyone in the circle: Deborah looked angry, probably because I hurt Nick so bad and the fact that he and I aren't together anymore, Nick had a blank expression, but there was a deep pain in his eyes only noticed by me since he puts his walls up around everyone except me-I mentally kicked myself. After his parent's death, he finally gets happiness and I just hurt him more than ever-Faye was smirking, knowing that she won Nick back-which pissed me off-Diana was smiling slightly and Adam was happy while everyone else looked on with great interest.

I feel horrible for hurting Nick and just wanted the meeting to be over. I looked at him again and noticed him slightly nodding at me. I turned to Diana and looked at her apologetically. "I should go home. It's been a long day." She nodded, understanding. I quickly left and went inside my house, still kicking myself for hurting Nick. How could I do that to him? I noticed something at the meeting when I looked at him, but didn't want to say anything. There is a silver, red and gold cord wrapped around each other before it connected itself between Nick and myself. I wondered how that was possible, but didn't care.

Nick and I are soulmates, but I have to tell him when we are alone. Maybe I'll go to his garage and talk to him. I went up to my room and brushed my hair and teeth before I walked out of the house and toward Nick's. He was in his garage working and I leaned against the wall as I faced him. "Hey." I smiled. He frowned as he turned to look at me. "Shouldn't you be with Conant happily celebrating your relationship?" He said, emotionless, but I knew him better than that. He only showed his feelings around me, so I knew he was upset. I shook my head as he looked confused. I walked over to him. "Why?" He asked, looking at me.

"There is something I have to tell you and no one else in the circle knows about it." I grabbed his hand, seeing the same silver, red and gold cords connect us when I looked down at our hands. He followed my gaze and looked shocked before his eyes met mine. He stood there not moving. I kissed him and he immediately kissed back. When I pulled away, he smiled and hugged me. I laughed as he spun me around in his arms before he sat me down on the ground.

"I love you so much." I told him and he smiled more than I've ever seen since I met him. "I love you, too. Nothing will separate us again." I smiled back.

I've never seen Nick so happy unless it involves me. Before he and I met, all he felt was anger because of what happened to his parents. Now he's in love with me and neither of us could be any happier.

The problem is Adam. How could I tell him that I didn't want to be with him and I choose Nick? He'll be so upset, but I'm sure he will be fine, eventually.
