A/N: Stupid Tropical Storm always messing up my WiFi. I was gonna write this yesterday but we had a Tornado Warning in our area and the computer was upstairs. Here it is a day late though.

"Wait, Mom, so you're saying that I have to stay at the home of some friend of yours?" Neku asked completely confused. His mother sighed, "Yes, Neku, I can't bring you with me because it's a trip for work and Suzuki is on vacation." Neku thought to himself, "Well, thank God she isn't." He figured that being with this Akane she was talking about was better than spending another boring week with Suzuki and her demonic triplets. "Besides, you might even make a friend, Neku, because she has a son that's your age." Neku rolled his eyes at that last statement.

Later, Neku and his mom were in the car while the former was thinking about what Akane and her would be like. When they got there he was greeted by a huge home with a fountain in the front yard. "Wait, so she's a rich lady huh, oh crap, does that mean her kid is a self-entitled pipsqueak who thinks he's better than everyone?" Neku's thoughts raced as he and his mother approached the door. When the doorbell rang, a young woman with short, blonde hair who looked like she was just leaving for work opened the door. Neku inwardly groaned, "Damn it, I think I might be dealing with a Karen right now."

The women talked for a time before his mom said, "Neku this is Akane, the one you'll be staying with." Neku said a polite hello before offering his hand to shake. Akane said, "Sure, I'll take care of him. I've got to go to work for now but Taro, my husband will be home." Neku's mom waved goodbye to Neku before she drove off. Akane explained that she would be home by 9:30 pm. and that her son would be home at 3:00 pm. After Akane left, he saw a tall, skinny man who said, "I'm Taro, good to meet ya, kid. I'll show ya around." After a 15 minute tour Taro said, "If you need help getting around just ask a maid, all right?" Neku agreed and Taro got on the phone with what sounded like a female voice.

Just then, a little girl came over to him and said, "Hi, Neku, I'm Mei and I just turned 5 a week ago." Neku questioned how she knew his name and she chirped, "My brother told me about you yesterday." Neku grinned and whispered to her, "Yeah, no offense but your dad looks like a string bean." She laughed and asked, "Will you watch a movie with me, it's Home Alone." Neku agreed and they watched it for a while. But then they heard, "Oh, I didn't think you lived here, squirt, I thought you were runnin' away to your aunt's house again." Taro was yelling at someone. Then Neku heard a voice he never thought he would hear again, "Oh dear, how could I possibly go there if Neku's here, Taro?" Neku nearly screamed and thought aloud, "Joshua lives here, wait is he Mei's brother? Mei giggled and said, "Yup!"

Joshua ran upstairs rather quickly and greeted his sister, but as soon as he saw Neku, he smirked, "Oh, Neku it's such a pleasure to have you here and to think I have you for a whole week, hee hee." Neku gave a small smile and said out of curiosity, "Happy to see you too, but why didn't you come back sooner?" Joshua smiled and said while putting a finger on Neku's mouth, "Business and school if you know what I mean?" Neku presumed it was probably Composer and Reaper's Game stuff. "Now come into my room before that twit, Taro comes up because we have much to talk about, dear." Joshua cooed as he ran into his room and Neku followed.

A/N: I love these two boys so much. Anyway, everything belongs to their rightful owners and blah blah blah *footsteps approach* "Emerald, come on, me and Neku are getting cookies and you're gonna miss them." Fine Josh...
