My Bowser Day contribution! I'd been chipping away at this story since last summer and I finally got far enough ahead that I felt okay to start posting it up. One ship that I'd gotten interested in since a year or two ago is Bowigi(Bowser/Luigi) and this is my contribution to that under-rated ship! It's a bit derivative and kinda fluffy but whatever, I like it.

I think I'll post the next chapter up Friday and then see how it goes from there.

I hope you all enjoy this.

Chapter 1: Red Carpet

Pain, ache, tiredness, maybe a bit of hunger. These were all things that could describe Luigi at this point as he sat on a fluffy bed in a garish pink room covered in bright red ribbons and hearts.

On one corner of the room was an expansive makeup table with expensive eye-shadows, mascaras, lipsticks and other makeups he didn't know the names of. In the other corner was a wardrobe filled with expertly tailored robes and dresses, all in pink. At one side of the room was a doorway leading off to an enormous, fancy bathroom. Another wall held a large, reinforced door. Locked shut of course. On the opposite wall from there was a barred window giving him an overview of a lush courtyard and garden that seemed to go on for acres. It would almost look serene were it not for the marauding thwomps and garish metal flame throwing statues of his captor...

It had been just another assault on the Mushroom Kingdom. The princess had been captured by the Kooopalings and as usual Mario was out of his boxers and into his overalls before his feet hit the ground to try and catch up. Since he had been in the middle of making breakfast and had to put everything aside, Luigi was quickly left behind to take care of panicky Toads.

By the time he made it to Peach's castle, Mario had already taken off to the grasslands without him. He'd probably never be able to keep pace with Mario at this point, so he figured he'd try to plot out Mario's route and catch him at a later world. At least, that's the last thing he thought before a chop to the back of the neck knocked him out cold.

And now here he was. Kidnapped and discarded in what was obviously Peach's prison...Or at least what would be prison for a princess. To his blue collar eyes however, it was like a five-star hotel room. He was feeling uncomfortable with all the pink overpowering his green, he didn't even have his hat-which he assumed was lost in the scuffle that got him put here. He began to plot out some sort of escape when he heard the latch on the door unlock. Scared, he hid under the plush comforter of the bed, shivering.

"Hmph, I'm sorry to break it to you, but pink doesn't suit you." Luigi froze. That deep voice, that gravely rumble that went right through him to his very heart. He poked his head out from under the covers and standing before him was the king himself: Bowser Koopa.

"MAMA MIA! Bowser!" Luigi flopped over to the other side of the bed, slamming himself up against the wall. "Wh-what do you want with ME!?"

Bowser gruffly chuckled at the man's cowardice. "Come now, you're even jumpier than Peach is after I kidnap her."

"S-so you did kidnapped me!?" Luigi shuddered. "But why!?"

Bowser posed confidently. "A little game of tag for that plumber brother of yours. Kidnapping Peach was just a decoy. My Kopalings are under orders to give her up without too much of a fight."

"But...Why would you even do something like that?" Luigi was befuddled. "Why just let her go after grabbing her?"

"Because I made sure to leave a letter telling Mario that I've kidnapped you back in the Mushroom Kingdom. Once he returns with Peach, he'll surely be out to save you as well. And while he's doing that, I'll re-claim Peach." Bowser snorted through a laugh. "Back and forth and back and forth until Mario is run into the dirt! Then I can simply waltz in and take whatever I want."

"B-but...why ME!?" Luigi pointed to himself, bewildered.

"You're Mario's beloved brother, aren't you? I'm sure he'll come running once he realizes you're not there. Just like when YOU came running to thwart my plans down south when I took HIM." Bowser gave Luigi a sly smirk and a point. "Until then, you just sit tight and don't think of leaving."

"Y-you're not going to t-t-t-tourture me, are you?" Luigi shook in his boots.

"What? Of course not!" Bowser looked genuinely insulted. "I wouldn't have stuffed you in Peach's room if I was intending on that."

"W-what?" Luigi went blank.

"Listen up little man, there's a difference between a political prisoner and being a criminal." Bowser huffed, a small ember blowing from his nose as he did. "I'm powerful, I'm ruthless and I'm a cunning bastard but I'm not a jackass. You'll be under my watch and protection while you're here and my servants will provide you anything you desire...Except your freedom, of course."

Luigi slowly regained his composure. "So...You just want me to sit here?"

"Well you can try on Peach's makeup if you wish, but I doubt it'd suit you." Bowser had a tone somewhere between sarcastic and...oddly accepting. "Speaking of your stay here, you must be famished. I picked you up before breakfast and it's past dinner now. I'll have my minions throw something together for you..." Bowser turned to leave. "Well then, enjoy your stay...if you know what's good for you."

"What the..." Luigi was at an absolute loss.

"Oh, one more thing..." Bowser turned back, reaching inside his shell.

"Eep!" Luigi huddled down, afraid of a beating, wishing he still had his cap with him to provide extra coverage...only to feel a soft pat on his head. "Oh?" He looked up and found his cap back in place and looking better than it did before. "M-my hat!"

"One of my soldiers found it while we were wrapping things up in the Mushroom Kingdom. It was a bit roughed up, so I had it refurbished for you." Bowser smiled down at the plumber. "Consider it...a token of good favor for your compliance."

"...Why are you being so nice to me?" Luigi couldn't help but ask. "I'm Mario's brother, we beat you all the time!"

"Correction: MARIO beats me all the time. I've never seen you take the reigns as far as I'm concerned unless it also concerns Mario." Bowser rolled his eyes at the green man, annoyed to be reminded of Mario's victories. "I'm the father of eight kids, I can tell you're just following your brother's orders most times and I can respect that." Bowser's expression morphed into something that, were Luigi to name it, would be sincerity. "I have no personal beef with you Luigi, This is just business."

"Oooooh...kay.." Luigi nodded.

"Now then, I have preparations to attend to. Going by past confrontations, I'd give Mario maybe...a week to get Peach back and be on his way here." Bowser mused to himself. "So don't do anything stupid or I may actually have to flatten you. I'll be back to check up on you and discuss business in better detail tomorrow morning." Bowser chuckled to himself as he left out the door.

Luigi's heart was racing as he felt the massive footsteps fade away into the distance. What a day this has been. First Peach is captured then HE'S captured and NOW Bowser is actually acting amicably? Granted it's because Luigi is better to him undamaged but still.

As his mind tried desperately to defragment and process what had occurred, a Goomba brought him dinner: A tomato soup appetizer followed by chicken scalopini, Cesar salad and finished with a goblet of zabaione and fresh berries with a chilled bottle of white wine on the side. After being reassured into oblivion by the Goomba that not only was the food not poisoned but that it was the standard for Peach's visits, Luigi dug into his meal, absolutely blown away by the high quality and freshness of it despite being in a realm of fire and lava.

Just as he was setting his utensils down, stuffed to his heart's content, he was visited by a Magikoopa who took his measurements and then used magic to create a magnificent nightgown and cap for him. Emblazoned with Bowser's sigil over the breast pocket but otherwise perfectly fashioned to his style.

Again he was reassured that Peach was given the same treatment and the magikoopa even offered to clean and refurbish his clothes the way they did his cap after he changed. As he dressed himself for bed, he couldn't keep a small chuckle from escaping his lips. He always thought Peach remained immaculately dressed and beautiful in Bowser's captivity through sheer force of will alone but it turns out she had her own Hollywood fashion squad to assist her.

Slowly, he settled into Peach's bed for sleep. It smelled like the expensive perfumes and hair products that Peach often wore, which put him at ease. He found it ironic, he had to be taken prisoner before he ever experienced any kind of high quality service. After all, Mario was the hero that everyone celebrated. Luigi was just second fiddle. If that. Quietly, he nodded off into a dreamless sleep. As his mind drifted away one thing remained on repeat in his head: His name on Bowser's lips and the small glimmer of warmth in his eyes.
