Hi. This is my first fanfic btw, so I hope you enjoy. I just reuploaded this after an EXTREME problem happened. ALL the source code was showing. I finally fixed it. Thank you to whoever mentioned this. Already forgot but I WILL shout you out. like i said, first fanfic. Ive had a TON of experience DMing (gamemastering) for D&D so I hope its not too bad. Anyways, on to the stuff I should tell you…

If you are reading in the future, the chapters are best read with time in between them. So try not to binge for maximum suspense. I have not watched the show in a while so sorry if I miss anything. This is in the Skylanders Academy universe and takes place right after s3 ends. Master Eon has a physical form, but used all of his magic getting back to life and is slowly regaining it. Basically so he can touch things and I don't have to work with that glaring annoying problem. Please leave constructive criticism if you have it because I would (obviously) appreciate it. Alright, enough rambling. Thanks for reading.

Spyro spiraled downwards in the air from the tree he had been perched on. It had nearly been an hour since he and Master Eon had left the academy to find his parents. Oh, and all the other purple dragons too. He sometimes forgot that in his excitement. They were currently traveling in the Falling Forest. Spyro had always secretly thought the place was a little spooky, with its grasping branches and pickers. It had somehow gotten worse at some point. Most of the trees were dead now, with eerie plants that seemed to have rotted and a gas In the air that couldn't possibly be good for you. "How did this place get so… funky?" Spyro wondered aloud. Master Eon looked up into the dark night sky. "I don't know Spyro. But you're right, this isn't natural." They were currently hiking to a nearby village to get supplies for their journey to what Eon says will have 'everything they would need to know about purple dragons' He hadn't told him what the place was but Spyro didn't care. All it meant to him was getting closer to his parents. He heard a ding and took out his phone. {I have no idea where dragons keep it but the show didn't ask so I wont either}

Elfy: Chill and her team just caught the DOOM RAIDERS!1!

;)Me: rly? That's awesome!

Elfy: I KNOW. They cashed their pirate ship thing straight into a floating rock! It's been totally cut in half!

;)Me: *crashed

Elfy: really

Spyro shut off his phone and looked up. No more bad guys… I bet that'll last. They had made it to a real road which meant the town was close. About time! He and Master Eon walked down the side until they saw some lights off a side path and went down it. Spyro thought about what it might be like. Probably great. Would they even know who he was? Would they care if they learned? He realized they were still probably trapped in another dimension. And possibly totally evil. Spyro sighed and dropped his gaze. He was sure Master Eon had a plan, and he wouldn't bother him asking about it. He was trying to trust him again, and this would be a good way of doing it. This stupid gas was getting to him. He wondered where it had come from. He looked up and saw they had made it to the town. It wasn't a rickety swampy ghost town that he would've expected considering the new surroundings. It looked like a regular town, with houses and shops made by professionals instead of swamp men with long beards who probably didn't have any experience building things. Spyro was thinking about super specific things. That meant he was nervous. He always overthought things when he was nervous. He didn't know why he was so creeped. He relaxed his muscles and followed Master Eon into a shop he looked excited about. Spyro groaned when he saw the name.

Meanwhile…

"Hello to all of you, and thank you for coming! I know its late and you all want to sleep or relax, but this new invention will be a game changer!" Announced Sprocket. None of the cadets or Skylanders looked happy to be there. "It's 11:30" said Wind-Up to Trigger Happy who was seated next to him. Sprocket took the piece of cloth off her invention, which was laying on Kaossandra's desk in the common room. The Sorceress did not look to happy either. At least they all looked a bit interested when they saw the circular device that was placed on the wood. It had many wires hanging from it and could fit in a palm. It had a small screen and number pad in the middle along with a small antenna protruding from the top of the device. It almost looked like a landmine, thought Sprocket, but she kept this thought to herself. "I call this device C6E V7, but I know that no one will want to remember that so you can call it a Pocket Portal. A fun little name that basically does the explaining for me, heh. This little thing can instantly send you to coordinates that you have typed in, with no need of having to go through the trouble of finding a portal. This is a very early version and may have some… quirks, but it works quite well." The Skylanders looked impressed and got up to go back to their dorms, talking about the new device along the way. Sprocket caught the comment "I thought she said it was a version 7?" Which made her scowl. The C6E V7 worked perfectly. Mostly perfectly. Well, once or twice. Though it did accidentally send Cy to lava lakes of Moltarva and they haven't heard from him since… Sprocket pushed the though out of her mind and started to head back to her lab. Time to do a few more tests and duplicate this sucker.

"Does it really take this long to choose Master Eon?" Spyro asked as the old wizard fingers through a few more cans of beard spray on the shelf. They were in a dimly lit store called "The Beard Boys" that smelled slightly of sulfur. "Of course it does Spyro! I cant be getting those beard spray bottles that say they are the best but actually give you a rash, now can I? And here, look." Master Eon angrily grabbed a purple bottle off the shelf. "It says ON THE BOTTLE that it protects your beard form grease, but when I tested it my beard was ruined for DAYS." Spyro tilted his head. "I thought that was from a freak greasy lizard gizzard accident?" Master Eon stared at him for a few seconds before continuing "…and it doesn't even last as long as my regular. Trash." He threw it across the store and went back to looking for whatever type he was trying to get. The clerk looked up for a second, then went back to the book he was reading.

Later…

It had taken forever to get out of the town, and they had made three extra stops for nonessentials. Spyro really wanted to get to where they were going and find out how to get his family back. This was taking forever. At least I'm here, and it happening. They were back to the woods walking through them for a bit until Spyro got chills and stopped. "Uh, Master Eon, is it just me or has it gotten a lot colder? And harder to see?" When the wizard didn't answer he looked over to see him scanning the gas, which had seemed to condense so much it was like fog. Spyro heard footsteps and turned to see two dark shapes in the fog. Spyro started to squint but noticed the fog-gas was dissipating in that direction, almost opening a path of air. The fog-gas dissipated from where the figures were sitting, and he took a look. They were dragons… if you could call them that. The one on the left was about as large as Spyro, with nearly black feathers and a dark beak and talons of almost silver. The other figure was much bigger, with hard looking skin and a large muscular build, with no wings. But the thing that Spyro was drawn to the most was their pitch black eyes, that seemed like a window to endless darkness. Spyro got chills again. "And who might you be?" He asked, trying to hide the shaking from his voice. Neither responded. Spyro noticed the grass near their feet was wilting and it seemed like it was trying to get away. The feathered dragon spoke. "Master Eon of Skylanders Academy. Give us the purple dragon and you will not be killed." His voice was about two times as loud as Spyro had expected, and sounded like a garbled version of gravel scraping against each other. It made his skin crawl, but what he said was even more horrible. Master Eon took a second to respond, his eyes wide. "Leave us be. You cannot have my friend." The dark feathered dragon did not react. He slowly turned his head to his silent companion and spoke in that horrible voice again. "Kill the fool and take the dragon."
