Author's note: Hello everyone! This is Scarlett Whitecross, just a little note that; this fic is gonna be quite different than what I've done in the past. Season three of the Lion Guard, in my opinion, was the greatest season of the entire show! And as such.. I didn't see all that much to change or fix with it. So instead.. I will be adding on to them.. Filling in the gaps so to speak. Show different angles that may not have been touched upon in the actual episodes.

Now I'm not sure if anyone else noticed.. But the writers seemed to have skipped some of the Moja Kwa Moja stones, likely due to the lack of time to touch on all of them. So those will also be included here. I'll try to decipher what the missings stones are and try to make up what happens while in search of them. I will go one episode at a time, making them each into 'chapters' if you will.

Keep in mind that these are mostly just my ideas of what COULD have happened.. and are not actually canon until proven otherwise. Also some of these snippets may only have occasional thoughts added to the conversations already existing, so I apologize if they bore you. Also these snippets may only make sense to those that know the episodes really well, but anyone can read them if they so desire! Otherwise… hope you enjoy these Lion Guard Snippets, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on them! Feel free to critique and comment your favorite snippets too! Enjoy! Thx!

Lion Guard: New Angles

~Episode 1 2: Battle For The Pride Lands~

(sending Kion off; before and during song On The Last Night)

Simba's gaze panned after his son, as he descended the stone path down from Pride Rock his thoughts amiss; evident by the look in his eyes.

"Simba?" He immediately looked up at the sound of his Queen's voice.

"This war with Scar will hopefully end soon." The Lion King stated openly.

"But…" Nala hinted, hearing the hesitation to continue in her mate's tone.

Simba just sighed.

"I worry about him… this battle is bigger than anything he's ever faced…" The older lion ventured.

"I'm worried about him too.." Nala admitted, nuzzling up to him lovingly. "But over the years he's more than proven his capability." Her blue eyes turned to gaze into his brown ones. "It's only natural for us to feel this way.. he's our son… But the reality is he can handle this. If he's gotten us this far.. I'd like to believe that he can succeed with this too."

"Hope you're right." Simba sighed reluctantly.

"I know.." Nala agreed. "Me too." And the two stared off into the setting sun, as the darkness began to overtake the Pridelands in its tender embrace of increasing midnight.

XXXX

(after the fire of Pride Rock)

"Kion." The young leader stopped to look toward the sound of his mother's voice. "I want you to stay close for tonight.. No wandering off alone to think." She told him with a tender seriousness.

"Um… ok?" Kion responded quizzically.

"You can't blame us for asking this of you." Simba put in, stepping toward his son. "Scar led us to believe for a moment that we'd lost you to the fire with the rest of the Guard."

"I know what you mean." Kion agreed, dropping his head thoughtfully. "But.. I'm ok… and everything's fine now. Scar will suffer for what he's done tonight, but only when we finally defeat him,.. and his army."

"We know… son." The Lion King nodded. "Which is why we want to hold you close for one last night before your big day... It'll be the biggest battle you've ever faced.. And I just want you to come home safe. Scar has already taken one important life from me, you know."

"I know, Dad." Kion nodded. "And I'll be careful. We will return home, and hopefully bring peace with us once again." Simba nuzzled heads with Kion, as his mother and sister came in to neck hug him as well.

"Now.." Simba said finally, as they all withdrew from their royal family hug. "Let us all get some rest. We have a big day tomorrow." And they all headed off together to settle down for the night again.

xxxx

Kion rolled one way, then the other. He tensed and grunted, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts which didn't seem to show any signs of stopping…

Nala stirred.. somehow feeling an unsettled soul within her vicinity. And when she lifted her head sleepily, she immediately found it; as Kion tossed and turned once more.

"Psst, Simba." The Lion Queen whispered, after looking his way to nudge him awake.

"-Mm..- hm?" Simba groggily lifted his head to look at her and she tilted her head back toward Kion a short distance to her left. The Lion King looked on past her to see the disturbed young lion; and understood what she was getting at immediately. As if he could read her mind, he got up with her and they quietly came over to lay on either side of their unsettled son. And suddenly he seemed to quiet down again; as though the mere heat from their bodies was enough to calm his overactive mind, finally helping him to rest more easily again.

XXXX

(The morning of the battle)

"It is time." Rafiki declared in a low key tone. And Simba's brow furrowed.

"Are you ready,.. son?" The Lion King asked, turning to his son, when hearing his approach from behind.

"As I'll ever be." Kion responded simply. Then Simba turned to his other advisor.

"Zazu.. gather the pridelanders.. and Kion.." he turned his gaze upon his son tentatively. "Come back safe." He finished meaningfully.

"I will…" Kion nodded determinedly. "And hopefully we'll have news of victory with it." And with that, Kion and Zazu took off down the path from their majestic home to begin their final stand...

XXXX

(Kion's bite)

"Ushari, now!" Scar bellowed. When he looked down, all Kion saw was a maroon streik and then darkness. He rolled himself over, a disorienting pain surrounding the left side of his face; infectiously consuming the rest of his body with it.

What happened? He thought lightly. And why does my face hurt? A heavy thump sounded in his ears. Ohh.. the headache! ugh...

"Hahahahaha! Sisi ni sawa, Kion! Now you have a scar; just like me!"

What's he talking about? Kion wondered distantly, as the sting on his face brought a paw up to his eye for a moment; only to feel the disorienting heaviness weigh heavier.

XXXX

(The Lion Guard's POV)

They'd hardly had time to react, when Kion was suddenly struck down by a fast-moving, maroon shape. Ushari's head rose up to stare pleasurefully down at what he had done; taking pride in his success. Blood and flesh had never tasted so good in all his life,.. At least that's how his expression looked.

They all couldn't hold back a shocked gasp at what had just happened, their hearts filling with a wild anger and fear.

"Oh no!" Beshte cried stressfully.

"Ushari?!" Bunga exclaimed, racing forward hotly and tackling the cobra away from Kion.

xxxx

"You don't have the power to destroy me, Kion." Scar told him manipulatively.

"Don't listen to him!" Beshte called encouragingly.

"We believe in you!" Fuli added, what's he waiting for? The cheetah silently wondered. Kion had prowled forward but stopped, doubling over to shake his head.

What's he doing? Why doesn't he just roar already? Thought Beshte nervously.

"Finding it difficult to think?" They heard Ushari ask. "My venom has a tendency to do that." The Guard's hearts flared with anger at this, as Bunga silenced him by stepping on his head.

"Use the Roar, Kion! He's asking for it!" Bunga coaxed. Kion lifted a paw, to vigorously rub his face as Scar proceeded to say..

"You,.. have the mark, of evil.. Just.. like.. me, Kion…"

And Fuli acquired this horrible feeling.. that something was now terribly wrong here..

XXXX

(Kion's POV)

"You.. have the Mark, of Evil.. Just. Like. Me,.. Kion." Scar manipulated spitefully. "Accept your destiny!" He declared. "There is no other choice... At the end of the day we are like Fire and Flame. Sisi ni sawa.. We.. are the same…" The more Scar sang the song, the more his face seemed to hurt and the more his heart seemed to swell deep inside his chest; and he covered his face with his paw in an attempt to stop himself from totally losing himself. Then he realized something about the words he'd just heard...

XXXX

(Trip back to the Pridelands; Kion's roar)

"Don't worry Ono, I'm sure Rafiki'll know how to help you." Beshte reassured his friend optimistically, as they made the trek back to the Pridelands.

"I hope so, Beshte." Ono commented rather lowly. "So..uh.. Guys.." The hippo continued. "Anyone else think that Kion was acting a bit weird back there? Like.. after Ushari caught him off guard?"

"Now that you mention it.. Yeah." Fuli admitted. "But, I'm sure he was probably just trying not to lose control of the Roar like he always has been. I mean.. Scar was kinda starting to get on our nerves with the whole; 'we're the same' thing."

"Right, but that was still weird wasn't it?" The egret thought. "He seemed so.. disoriented… didn't he?"

"Of course he would.." Bunga put in. "He just got ambushed by a poisonous reptile. I mean.. If he were a honey badger.."

"We know you're immune to snake bites.." Fuli groaned, having recalled hearing this multiple times over the years, since his discovery.

"Well.. what'do you think Kion?" Ono spoke up, peering around as if he could still see. The team stopped and Bunga glanced back.

"Kion."

XXXX

(Kion's POV)

"What if the roar really is a curse?" Kion felt a stab in his eye that he almost couldn't bear, and the next thing he knew… "Kion!"

ROAR!

One moment Bunga was calling for Kion to hurry up, and the next, he went flying away on a roaring wind. Fuli watched as he spun away, launching up and over the rocky wall back into the Pridelands.

"Was that the Roar?!" Ono cried in distress, searching about frantically. "What's going on?!" And Fuli's eyes wandered back to where her horrified leader stood.

"The Roar just came out!" Kion gasped, as they came up to him; his tone full of stunned disgust and his eyes completely shocked. "I..I didn't mean to." He grunted painfully, and pressed a paw to his face to try and relieve the sting in his eye.

What is going on with him? Fuli's mind thought, holding a blank stare on him.

"I believe you, Kion." Beshte immediately assured him sensitively.

"Me too." Fuli agreed lightening up, but inside she, too, wondered what had happened to cause this.

XXXX

(Returning to the Pridelands; while Kion and the Guard see Rafiki)

Simba paced one way, then the other. His anxiety filling the room, as he continued this sequence. Nala and Kiara just sat in their normal sleeping place in the central position along the back wall of Pride Rock's main cave; watching him intently.

"Maybe I should check one more time." Simba decided stopping to look at his family once more.

"Going out there and standing out there looking for him won't make him come any sooner, Simba." Nala reasoned. "I'm sure we'll hear from them soon." At that moment Zazu flapped in.

"Sire, the Pridelanders have returned." The horn bill reported without having to be asked.

"And the Lion Guard?" Simba wondered.

"...not among them.. I'm afraid." Zazu answered unfortunately. The looks on the royal family's faces suddenly brightened in alarm, their eyes flashing with shock; as they all met one another's.

xxxx

"Ma tembo, Pridelanders.. Welcome home." Simba greeted offly, as the royal lions of the Pridelands strode out from Pride Rock to meet them.

"Thank you, your majesty." The elephant leader replied, bowing her head respectfully to her king.

"So.. is Scar.." Simba trailed off expectantly.

"Didn't Kion tell you?" Ma Tembo returned surprisedly.

"We thought he was still with you." The king informed her.

"Hm.. odd." Ma Tembo mused, dropping her gaze as she often did. "I suppose they went to see Rafiki first."

"Rafiki?" Nala echoed curiously.

"What are you talking about?" Simba wondered. And Ma Tembo developed an awkward and unfortunate expression...

XXXX

(on their way out of the Pridelands; after the procession)

"You know, Bunga, I kinda forgot to thank you for saving me from Ushari back there, after the rain started to destroy Scar." Kion began, as they drew closer to the edge of the Pridelands.

"Ah, no problem." The honey badger replied with a shrug.

"It was bad enough he bit you once." Fuli put in, being only half sarcastic.

"Yeah, but,.. I don't exactly think he was planning on biting him that time." Beshte thought aloud.

"I'm just glad it was Ushari that went over the edge and not Kion." Ono decided thoughtfully.

"Yeah.. me too." Kion agreed thankfully, his tone sounding a bit off; but no one seemed to notice.. much to his relief.

XXXX

(Kion and the Lion Guard's departure from the Pridelands)

The royal family watched for as long as they could, until Kion and his friends disappeared from view over a distant hill.

"I miss him already." Simba stated aloud, still staring out to where they had vanished.

"We all do." Nala agreed.

"Mom?.. Do.. you think they'll make to the Tree of Life in time?" Kiara asked cautiously, glancing up at her worried parents with a concerned look of her own.

"I hope so, Kiara." Simba assured her. "But we mustn't despair. Kion will return someday.. and hopefully… He'll return completely healed." And all they could think to do next… was stare after the Lion Guard a little while longer.

~Battle For The Pridelands~

Well there you have it, guys! The first "chapter" of the Lion Guard snippets; appropriately titled New Angles. Hope you guys enjoyed this, and I can't wait to see what you think of the next one. Fair warning that the next chapter for The Harmattan will not possess many snippets taking place during the actual episode, cause I couldn't really find anything to add. But there is still quite a bit in this chapter.. and you'll understand what I mean when you read it.

Also I may not have specified.. in order to stay on top of this.. I will try to post a new chapter to this story every month, I'm thinking maybe the first Saturday of the month and see how that goes. Obviously this is is a little late this time.. but hopefully it was worth it. Till then.. Enjoy! Thx!
