Chapter One

Jesse awoke in a cramped and cold chamber made out of stone bricks. The gauntlet was still firmly attached to her hand, though it wasn't glowing anymore. They had defeated the giant colossus that was the Admin only days earlier and was still waiting for Ivor to figure out how to get the thing off because his original plan of just drinking milk and hoping it was just a potion effect didn't work.

"Hello?" her voice echoed around the room. She tried to move, only to find that his hands were chained to the wall. The only thing that was in the room was her diamond sword and a small chest in the corner of the room as well as two torches lighting up what she presumed to be the door of the room. Above was a large contraption. It stuck out of the wall on top of her like a sore thumb. Perhaps it was some sort of projector, Jesse thought to herself.

Her memory was foggy. But it all began to come back to her. Feelings of despair, uneasiness, and anxiety hit her all at once. Watching her 'friends' unload their anger and stress on her without any warning and without any care for how it would affect her broke her figurative heart.

Small fragments of the conversation began to populate her mind.

"You have another plan right Jesse?"

"Why even bother. She's more useless then she was last time. I knew we shouldn't have followed her stupid plan."

Their words echoed in her mind. She could pin some words on each of her friends, but the majority of it sounded as if they were thrown into a blender and played back to her. Some of the stuff thrown in there was some of the nastiest, mean-spirited comments and remarks she had ever heard anyone mouth. It was the accumulation of years and years of built-up tension with it all being released at the worst possible time.

She really only remembered the bad parts because, by the time the gang had gotten around to realizing how much damage they were causing and apologizing profusely, she had already broken down and muted them from her mind falling into what could have only been described as an emotionally fuelled meltdown. She remembered her complete shock. The gut-wrenching pain in her stomach. It was as if they had stabbed her in the back. No, not the back. More like her heart. Of course, all this was insignificant compared to how she literally started levitating and eventually teleported out of existence into the room she was currently stuck in.

She clasped her face as she stood up to analyze the room. She tried to suppress her memory as she knew she needed to not stress. She couldn't let it go to her head if she ever wanted to get out of her predicament.

"What if the others got teleported into other rooms like this?" She thought to herself. She tried fighting her way out of her restraints to no avail. Jesse stood there alone. Her forehead, producing a nervous sweat. She waited for something to happen. Perhaps a sound to gain her attention. But nothing. Was this the way she was really going to go? Her perception of time was already in shambles due to the lack of windows and natural light.

She watched as a water droplet repeatedly hit the hard, cold stone floor. She had been standing there for what she thought was days. She finally got a few hours of sleep. Though she hated and regretted every second of it. Her dreams consisted of an endless walk down the main avenue of Beacontown. Where the birds never stopped chirping and the sun never went down. The buildings looping and the interactions with the citizens repeating. She was haunted by a lingering voice that sounded like her that seemed to embed itself in her head. It grew more and more insidious and lifelike the longer the dream went on.

"Nobody enjoys your company. They never have." The voice cried out.

"They all want you gone."

"All you bring them is pain and trouble. Leave while you still can."

She couldn't ignore it.

Suddenly the dream began to fade and an even louder sound filled her ears. She slowly awoke with her eyes adjusting to the brightness of the projection in front of her. Slowly realizing what she was looking, She started quivering rapidly in both anger and dejection. Reuben's final moments. It was altered, however. There was no one around her. It was just her and her old pet pig.

She slumped slightly. She had tried to suppress and get over the memory of Reuben, though it never really left her mind. Mostly because she would walk past him every day when she was still in Beacontown.

The video feed, looked like it was taken directly from her memory.

"I'm here for you, boy."

It was always so vivid in her memory, but it was never like this.

She rewatched Reuben struggling to get back up again in desperation only to drop back down. Jesse's breathing became shaky and erratic. Reliving that day was a nightmare come to life. She tried to pull away from the wall wanting to destroy the projector above her.

She closed her eyes, though it didn't change anything. She could still hear Reuben squeaking and her shaky voice talking to him. She could still see it, but this time her brain was producing the image. She couldn't get away from it. She tried to stay strong through the entire projection though she dropped the facade as she began to realize what was coming in the next few seconds. Then it happened. Reuben disappeared, leaving only a pork chop. She opened her eyes again. Tears already accumulating down her cheek. Jesse tried to make sense of what in the world was even happening. She still had no explanation of where or why she was here. No explanation on who brought her here.

"Was this the Admin? Was this a punishment for something I've done? Can the Order even get me out of here?" she thought to herself. She paused. "Will they even try to get me out of here?"

She snapped out of it shaking her head and banishing that thought away. "Gotta stay positive Jesse. You'll get out of this." She tried to compose herself by controlling her breaths though they were still shaky. "My friends will get me out of this," she said confidently out loud.

She blinked once. Nothing. She blinked twice and she saw it. A black figure in the unlit corner of the room. She shifted her head towards the right to try to get a better look.

"... Your 'friends'?" The figure chuckled.

The voice sounded exactly like Jesse's in a dark and sinister sort of way. A voice that sounded like she was void of emotion. Void of happiness. Void of anything that made Jesse, Jesse.

"I can tell you right now they are never coming for you." The figure stepped into the light.

Her still damp face followed the figure promptly turning into a look of horror. Jesse's guess was confirmed. It was another Jesse staring right back at her. Same look, same face, and same imperfections.

"Who are you? What are you?!" Jesse shouted.

The duplicate tilted her head slightly followed by a short giggle.

"Don't be silly. I'm you of course."

A/N

This fanfic might sound similar to another fanfic because I could have sworn I read something just like this. But it's okay because, during the process of 'plagiarizing' it via my memory, I have completely changed the plot. I'm feeling good with this one even though it might be an incoherent mess of a story. Sorry if it's hard to read, but also not sorry because I need more practice writing.

I have already drafted up Chapter 2 though I'm not sure how far this will get before I inevitably abandon this story. I swear it's some sort of curse. I for one, cannot wait for the story to get even more darker...

Thanks for reading!
