Alright, part 2 of Lucy's punishment. Now you get to feel my pain. I normally can see it from their perspective. That, and I wanted practice writing death scenes. Once again, read "let the games begin" if you haven't, it's good (I'm super depressed because of it). Now, death!

Review Replies for last challenge:

Mintflight0245- It was weird, gave me a headache to write to. Glad that whole mess was cleared up, I don't think I ever explained it well enough.

yeetledee- Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

succulentsofa- Thanks, it creeped me out too. Siren is a creepy dude.

Review Replies for Scarred Hearts:

yeetledee- Thank you so much, I tried really hard to make it sad. Yes, good AU food is best food.

SomeStormLeaf- Thanks, I was really concerned about characterization, so that's good to hear. And yes, BeeFern is cursed ship, BeeTroot forever.

succulentsofa- I HAD TO DO IT, THE PLOT IDEA WAS SO JUICY. And I'm glad Beepaw was in character, I was super worried and read through a bunch of old rp to make sure I could get it right. And yeah, there was that part where he promised to never hurt Troutpaw in the rp, actually... the day before the AU starts.

Mintflight0245- Yes, Fernkit should take his gayness elsewhere. I also like Troutscar's character arc, how he does from trying to get Beepaw to forgive him to forgiving Beepaw himself. Thanks so much!

Review Replies for Aftermath:

succulentsofa- Thanks, I really wanted to develop Cinder and Blossom before the games so you know what you took from them. And yeah "heffers" lol.

River had one priority, get home. He hadn't wanted to get chosen, he was needed. Hollis needed him. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to win, but he'd try. He wanted to tell Hollis about the food in the capitol and try to recreate it for him. He wanted to see him smile and laugh as River wiped the sauce off his face.

He had every reason to get back, for the one person in his life that he cared about the most.

River still couldn't get the image of how broken he'd be if he couldn't make it home. They'd both known that the goodbye may very well had been their last, and River was going to fight to go home.

For Honey.

He looked at the vegetables and wild plants he had gathered. He started a small fire, thinking he could smoke them to give them a nice flavor. He had always loved cooking, managing to get lost in the motions.

He got too lost this time and didn't heat the girl sneaking up on him.

He didn't realize she was behind him until he turned around, eyes wide. He was scared but he didn't let it show, he didn't want Hollis to be worried.

The knife pierced him and he felt an overwhelming pain. He screamed as his attacker viciously twisted the knife. It still didn't hurt as bad as knowing he wasn't going back, that he had failed.

"H-honey-" he managed to choke out, reaching for the sky. I just wanted to see you again.

It was a scouting mission, they were looking for food. Cinder didn't mind getting some… alone time with Aquilo. He knew it was stupid to fall in love where they were. They shouldn't fall in love. But with the high stakes and the fact that either of them could die at any moment… Cinder found himself falling anyways.

Aquilo was just… perfect. He was a great listener, and he knew how to make Cinder laugh. They probably shouldn't have kissed under the starlight, the game makers wouldn't have liked it.

Cinder never gave a crap about what they thought.

He only hoped he wouldn't have to take out Aquilo or Crystal. He knew he couldn't, if it came down to it. Blossom is counting on you.

That was his driving motivation, get home to his sister. He'd promised he would come back. He was to try to find a way for Crystal to come back to.

She needed them and he was going to go back to her. He had to get home. He didn't have a bow, which annoyed him. He would have wanted some long range weaponry.

He did have a trident though, and he felt safer because of it. It was familiar, a symbol of where he had come from. He'd trained with one for years.

Then she had came through the trees like some kind of monster. He ran for it.

He wasn't going to risk a close combat fight with Mai.

He had thought Aquilo was right behind him and didn't realize he was alone until he turned and noticed the blonde wasn't there. Cinder looked around desperately, and saw her standing over him- she was toying with him.

Cinder wanted to charge out be he stayed. Aquilo looked around desperately, and Cinder knew his love needed him.

Blossom is counting on you.

He got ready to spring out.

Then, he watched as the axe was raised up. It gleamed in the artificial sun, and was brought down. There was blood on his shirt, and it stained his angelic hair. Cinder fractured, and felt dizzy.

His grip tightened on his trident and he gritted his teeth.

Those girls are gonna die, I'll-

He felt a sharp pain in the side of his head, and then nothing.

An ambush, that was the plan. Stanley knew they needed supplies. The big group had supplies. They were just supposed to run in, steal a pack and leave. Then Stanley saw the two kids talking- flirting. He chuckled to himself, they were too absorbed in each other to notice them.

His grip tightened in his knife. Two less tributes meant he and Luna could go home. They could live peacefully together, and pretend they didn't have to go through this hellscape. They'd talked about settling down, maybe having some kids.

She wanted to name one Alice.

He lunged forward, arm raised and ready to strike. He heard Luna yell something to him, but he was ready to take the kill.

Until someone plunged a knife into his chest. He gave Luna a panicked look. I'm sorry. He knife fell to the floor with a thud.

His breathing was growing more ragged and he felt warm blood on his chest. "I love you," he mouthed, feeling tears well up in his eyes. Shadows were dancing on the edge of his vision now.

We wanted to start a family…

He met her gaze one last time, those beautiful eyes he was fallen in love with. The shadows were getting larger, overtaking his vision. He drowned in them, the last thing he heard being Luna's voice. I'm so sorry…

Welp, I'm super bummed out.
