Note: Just so we're clear, there were some chapters I had only read parts of, so please forgive me if anything in this fic is inconsistent with something from before. (There is one thing I actually am aware of, though, which I've noted under the following recap and even explained how little sense it made to begin with.)

Recap of Cries Unheard:

1) Flash-forward prologue, in which Miyuki reports herself for killing three people, and is interrogated by Yui.

2) Beginning of main story, in which the headmaster of Ryouou High School introduces Satoshi Fujisaku to Miyuki. He leaves her to hang out with her friends, but then his family meets her back at home. The two of them go out for a walk, but once she's back in her house, he walks over to Minami's house and feeds Cherry a poisoned dog biscuit.

3) Minami summons all her friends over to comfort her over Cherry's death. Once everyone leaves, Satoshi then catches up with Kagami and Tsukasa, and brings them into the city. Kagami "ignores"* Tsukasa the whole time. Satoshi introduces Kagami to an accomplice named Riku Kitamaru.

(*Not only is this already out of character for her without any buildup, but the latter wasn't even shown trying to involve herself in their conversation, rendering her OOC too.)

4) Back to the interrogation. Miyuki's father Jiro is summoned from America to bail her out. Kagami is brought into the police station kicking and screaming, alongside another body, but Miyuki is reluctant to let her take her place, lest she be put into a cell with someone else.

5) Miki calls Kagami out for ignoring Tsukasa while she's in the middle of a chat with Riku. Kagami treats Tsukasa to a shopping spree, and the two of them meet Konata and her new boyfriend Kenji Watanabe, along with Riku again. Kagami once again ditches Tsukasa for Riku, and Kenji tries to "comfort" Tsukasa in order to manipulate her. Satoshi, meanwhile, takes remote footage of Miyuki in the shower, to blackmail her with.

6) Tsukasa is miffed again, rejecting emotional support even from Matsuri, and goes out to meet Minoru, whom she's dating by this point, and Kenji. The three of them have a nice exchange and part ways, but then Kenji knocks Minoru out and brings him somewhere, where he and a yet-to-be-introduced accomplice torture him before letting him go with a warning not to see Tsukasa or any of her friends again.

7) Satoshi, Riku, and Kenji date their respective partners/targets. Satoshi takes Miyuki to a coffee shop to ask her for security information about her father's shipping company, which she mentions having overheard from her father at an earlier point. Konata and Kenji go to a summer festival (yeah, I know...), where Kenji eventually stabs Konata in the back and renders her unconscious, before bringing her to an abandoned warehouse and threatening to kill Yutaka should she report anything he does to Yui.

8) Flash-forward. Miyuki explains her and Konata's situations to Yui, and what the antagonists' actual goal was (to fulfill an international arms deal involving Jiro's company; everything else they did was to neutralize them lest they step in on her behalf), before Kagami takes her place once Tadao and Miki arrive.

9+10) Riku and Kenji's domination of Konata, which involves her being raped multiple times and forced to act like a dog. 10 sees the proper introduction of Brick, the aforementionedly remaining accomplice.

11) Miyuki and Minami have one last chat, revealing something the former remembered from her childhood. Riku and Kenji are out camping with Konata in tow, right next to Misao and her family, who eventually strides over to greet her before being raped with her. Satoshi eventually reveals himself to Miyuki as her long-lost half-brother due to an affair Jiro had with his mother, Yukiko.

12+14) Satoshi explains Jiro's former relationship with Yukiko to Miyuki, and what's going on with her friends, along with introducing her to his accomplices. The other antagonists torture Misao and Konata demanding to know the names of the rest of their friends, to which Konata eventually gives in.

13) Flash-forward. Kagami reveals all of the following:

-She never took her family seriously about what kinds of people they suspected had just entered her and Tsukasa's lives.

-Kuroi died in a traffic accident after getting involved with Konata and having her brake cables snapped.

-Misao had escaped and complained to Kagami to no avail.

-Kenji had brainwashed Tsukasa to suicide.

-None of her friends attended her funeral for fear of rape or death.

-The reason she herself "wasn't" abused was only because of a wager between Riku and Kenji as to how long it would take and who would get her in bed, which she only played along with out of gratitude, when she could only wonder at the time why no one else came. That changed a week later when she found out what was really going on.

It is also revealed that Soujiro was killed inside his house, and the fourth body, assumed prior to be Riku's, was actually Kenji's.

15) Didn't read most of that, but presumably, this is where the antagonists make their presence known to everyone else. I doubt they actually attacked anyone just yet, because Kagami told Yui that that happened whenever anyone reached out to her or anyone else already involved, before they'd start actively avoiding them. The chapter did end, though, with Konata starting to regret selling her friends out.

And, the fic never went any further from there before its eventual deletion.

(That said, I do remember Kagami having mentioned to Yui, that Konata previously mentioned needing to go tend to Yutaka, while suspecting that she was actually gonna do something bad to herself (implicitly suicide). That, I recall, is the reason the police went out searching for her, which is also when they found Soujiro dead. However, while Blood might have had some way on mind for this to work, I can't think of any reason myself why the antagonists would try to kill him once Konata escapes them (I do also recall "Shit-dick is loose!" having been written in his blood), if they still have Yutaka captive to kill first. Why would Konata want to kill herself or something if she still has a responsibility to her, and if she were actually dead, wouldn't that just free her up to team up with Kagami and Miyuki instead to avenge her and everyone else? She would know that the antagonists would have no reason to delay in killing her once they've lost control of her, unless someone actually had driven them away, who would then make freeing her the next thing they do if they hadn't already.)

CHAPTER X

REBELLION

"Yasaka-san, I need your help.

"These guys came out of nowhere and did some really bad things to me. They raped me, broke my drawing hand, and threatened to carve my eyes out if I ever talk to someone I'm friends with or call the police on them.

"I already tried my other friends, but none of them are responding either.

"They must be in some kind of trouble, and if we don't do something, you could be next.

"Be sure to gather anyone else you know. This is not something the two of us should try to solve ourselves."

Some distance from an apartment in Akihabara watched a brown-skinned girl with short blonde hair, cell phone in hand to be turned on when she'd see anyone enter or leave. This girl was Ko Yasaka, president of the Ryouou High School Animation Research Club, whom Hiyori Tamura belonged to, and the very person she had called upon for help.

Opposite direction from the apartment awaited another girl, brown hair in waist-length twintails. Enlisted in turn by Ko, this girl, Yamato Nagamori, was once friends with her in childhood, and had just transferred recently to Ryouou.

Unfortunately for them, they were not able to pick up any leads. Their primary target, Patricia Martin, had never once left the apartment in light of whatever had happened to her, nor had anyone come to visit her.

In the more suburban part of Tokyo itself, two other girls watched over the home of Minami Iwasaki, hiding on opposite sides. One of them, Tamaki Yamanobe, lacked eyes and wore her green, waist-length hair in twin-tails. The other, Miku Busujima, had glasses and very short brown hair. These two had been friends since childhood, and like Yamato, they were both recruited in turn by Ko, having also belonged to the Animation Research Club.

While Tamaki had yet to pick up on anyone, Miku managed to catch sight of a blonde boy in a black business suit, emerging from the house across the street. She wasted no time before snapping a picture of him and forwarding it to her friends, before following him around from a safe distance.

"That guy actually looks sorta familiar," texted Hiyori. "I seem to recall seeing him after Iwasaki-san's dog died. Wonder if he has anything to do with all this. How about you, Wakase-san, have you got any leads?"

"Haven't seen Kobacchi, but I have followed some blue-haired girl down somewhere," texted a girl with long, dark-brown hair down to her knees, standing within vicinity of an abandoned warehouse. The president of her class, Izumi Wakase, she had been recruited by Hiyori herself.

"Her cousin!" replied Hiyori. "Konata Izumi! One of Takara-san's own friends, too. Looks like one of us should also observe the Hiiragi twins. Right now, though, you stay there and look out for anyone else, okay?"

Each day, they would all switch around, and stalk their prey at not only those girls' homes, but anywhere else they frequently found them to hit. And it wasn't long before they'd follow them to the shipping company run by Miyuki's father, Jiro Takara.

"I'm going in," texted Miku, going solo so as not to draw attention from anyone. Hopefully, everyone inside would have more important things to do than to worry about one teenage girl, especially if they were already oblivious to several boys and another girl all her age and what they were doing.

What she saw terrified her to the core. She could not help but shudder profusely while gazing at it all.

Weapons.

All manner of firearms and explosives.

She had to muster the strength to rush out of the facility and text her friends.

"This is bad!" she texted. "You won't believe what they're trying to ship out! We need to solve this fast!"

More time went by as the girls continued to gather information. And on one fateful day, Hiyori received a call from Kagami. She could only clam up as her phone rang, before she left a message.

"Hiyori-san, are you there?" Kagami asked tearfully. "Tsukasa is dead. We're having her funeral on Sunday."

Her heart sunk. This was exactly the kind of thing she had feared for her friends.

But in a way, this would also benefit her.

She went to contact the others immediately.

"This is Hiyori. Tsukasa is dead, and her funeral is set for next Sunday. Our targets are sure to be there, so there's no way we'll be able to come. But don't worry, the burial won't matter so much; we can still have a gathering with whoever's still alive after this is over, and even get to know one another then. In the meantime, this is also an opportunity to infiltrate their hideout while they're away. Let's not waste this!"

On that day, they all finally met up in person near the warehouse, and those who didn't know eachother took the chance then to introduce themselves. Hiyori made sure to bring some stuff with her, including a laptop, and they had all made especially sure before coming to charge their phones back up for such a vital part of the mission as this.

"Okay, the first thing we need to do, is to pass ourselves off as guys, just in case anyone sees us," said Hiyori. "Women aren't allowed to be yakuza, so I got us some hats to hide our hair with, bandages for our boobs, and some boys' school uniforms. Let's also stick to surnames when we talk to eachother.

"I also got some software to connect our phones to our laptops, so that the rest of us can see what's going on while some of us are doing our job. Pay close attention to what's going on, and keep track of the path. That way, if we need to step in, we'll be able to figure out shortcuts to whatever's going on."

She took out some packets of paper stuff, each containing a different color.

"Confetti. Use this to leave a trail just for us to follow in case we need to step on. Make sure you drop just one fleck at a time, and space it out so that no one else notices."

She then presented an opened box of steakknives.

"Use these only if you have to. We don't want to make any noise or leave bodies lying around. Only use it if you're in trouble. If you do have to kill someone, though, then don't let anything get to you. It might not come naturally for us to kill someone, but these guys already do horrible things. Just remember what they already did to me.

"If you manage to take someone down, be sure then to swipe anything they've got once they're down if you can; bound to come in handy somehow.

"And most importantly, whatever you do, just act like you belong there. Make sure your body language displays that. Keep both hands and your eyes on your phones, so that it looks like you're texting. And whatever you see, don't freak out. Don't. Freak. Out. Just remember that's exactly what we're gonna put an end to. Don't try to free anyone either, even if they're unguarded; we'll come back for them once we figure out how.

"If you don't think you can handle any of this, last chance to back out. I could go in first, though, in order to give you guys encouragement. Who's still in?"

All other five got up.

"No, Tamura, you stay outside," said Ko. "Let me go in first. They'll recognize you, and I'm the one who brought Nagamori into this. I would've joined you even if she refused."

"No, Yasaka, me," said Yamato. "Watch over me."

"I'll go," said Izumi. "No one's getting away with anything! Yamanobe, Busujima, you two watch my back."

"Can you watch mine instead?" asked Tamaki.

"I will," answered Miku for her.

"Glad to see you're all still in this, but some of us have to stay outside," said Hiyori. "Who else besides Busujima-san?"

In that otherwise empty building, the implements Yamato and Tamaki saw used to torture Konata and Misao were unnerving enough. While managing to keep their composure, they were also afraid of suddenly losing it if someone were to turn a corner and spot them. But, that wasn't the worst of it all.

While Tamaki failed to find anything or anyone on one side of the building, Yamato could not contain her breath upon finding something really unthinkable.

Someone was there, chained to a chair, naked, mouth in a gag.

That someone looked pretty familiar, from the photos Hiyori had sent everyone.

"Yuu-chan, are you alright?" asked Yamato, removing the gag from her mouth after she regained herself.

"Who are you?" asked Yutaka.

"Don't talk too loud. Call me Yamato."

"How did you get in here?"

"Let's not talk about that right now."

Yutaka then burst into tears, prompting Yamato to cover her mouth.

"They showed me everything!" she said. "What they're doing to onee-chan. You have to kill me!"

"No. You're all Izumi-san has left to live for."

"They feed me human flesh! They make me watch everything they do to her! I'm so scared! If this goes on much longer, she's gonna snap and rebel, and then they'll kill me anyway. Someone sounded off a couple of gunshots upon calling someone named Brick, but I don't think that's how they really plan to kill me, and I can't stand seeing her do this to herself either!"

"I'll text Izumi-san just to hang in there. I'm sure she'll last just a bit longer knowing that help is on the way. Even if they catch me again, the others will surely figure something out."

"Where's Minami-chan? Where's Patty-chan too?

"They should be ready to join once we strike back. We'll be back soon to get you out of here; just need some gear and another opening. Just hang in there, and don't tell anyone we were here, okay?"

"Okay."

As Yutaka predicted, Konata was indeed nearing the end of her ropes, seriously considering giving up on her. Hearing from Hiyori did help, but considering what happened with others like Kuroi, she still wasn't entirely hopeful.

Not like she actually expected to ever have a happy reunion with her, or that they were treating her any better. All she wanted was to prevent them from killing her in the most brutal way they could think of. But then again, while one could surprise oneself with what they could endure, it became harder by the day for her to think of her any longer while her own needs screamed for attention. One could say easily enough that they would sacrifice everything for the sake of a loved one, but that was already proving itself the myth that it was.

But, even if she were to give up on her, there was no way she could retaliate for everything they did to her. She could conceal a knife in her pocket on any given day, but they would just subdue her, and then on top of the kill itself, she'd likely be forced to watch.

And if she were to kill herself, would they free her then, or would they just kill her anyway, without any further use for her? In fact, was that what they wanted her to do all along, or did they want her alive?

With all that, calling the police, the very thing they warned her out of, had already begun to seem like her only option left. In fact, Yui notwithstanding, did she really think they would make their arrival way too obvious?

And dial she did.

"1-1-9, how can I help you?"

"My cousin is being held hostage in an abandoned warehouse!"

"If you mean Yutaka Kobayakawa, we are already aware of her. We're doing everything we can, but we will still need time to set her free."

"How long am I gonna have to wait!? They're doing really bad things to me, and anyone who tries to help me!"

"I understand your desperation, but we are not allowed to disclose investigation details."

Konata sighed. "Please resolve this soon, okay?"

"We will make sure that you are both safe again."

"Thanks."

She hung up.

Even further demoralized as she was, she knew that police were not incompetent; only that the job itself was fraught with complications, which is why they consisted of trained professionals in the first place. If anything, they were probably handling things as delicately as possible, and there might have even been other hostages to set free.

If only she had done this sooner, there would be a much smaller chance than now that she'd finally lose it and cause the worst to happen. But then again, how could she think properly after the first night of such an ordeal as this?

Hiyori and her friends spent the following week monitoring their enemies' patterns inside the warehouse, and gathering some supplies. Food, water, weapons, ski masks, a hacksaw, and a change of clothes for Yutaka.

Unfortunately, their patterns proved unpredictable, given how many more people they had on their hands than just her and Konata. If they were to enter when it was empty, they would risk having someone walk in on them and pulling a gun on them, giving them no good way to fight back. The most they could do was guess when they'd all be absent, and prepare for having to fight all four of them.

And so, they ended up choosing a time when Brick would be away from Yutaka while helping Riku and Kenji with Konata, which they tended to do for at least a few hours at a time.

And once Yutaka was free, only then would they move in for their actual assault.

To start with, only Izumi and Tamaki spied on them, phones in their hands while several others gripped a lighter and Molotov cocktail each, knowing in advance who to target with them. A fire extinguisher was also on hand in case they'd end up burning Konata as well.

As they stayed hidden, Izumi recorded what was going on, while Tamaki held her phone ready to cue the attack.

All they had to do now, was wait for one of those guys to rape Konata for one last time, and with one press of a button, the real fun would begin.

And it didn't take long before Konata laid on the floor, and as soon Riku lay on top of her, off went everyone's phones! Hiyori and Yamato lobbed their respective bombs at Kenji and Brick respectively, sending them onto the floor as they struggled to put out the flames they caught, while Miku and Ko rushed Riku before he could get up off of Konata. Ko pulled a knife out on Riku's throat, and Miku smothered him with a rag doused in gasoline as he kept a grip on Ko's wrist. Tamaki and Yamato moved towards Kenji and Brick with a baseball bat and a frying pan respectively; once they got up, Tamaki landed the bat against Kenji's ear, while Yamato slammed the skillet against Brick's nose.

While that was all going on, Hiyori and Izumi edged up to their targets with a blowtorch and a broken liquor bottle respectively, the former in Hiyori's intact hand. Hiyori blew some flames into Riku's eyes as soon as he freed himself of Miku and Ko, while Izumi thrust the bottle against Kenji's face, almost blinding him while he nursed his ear, but then he grabbed her arm to prevent any further stabs, only for Tamaki to swing again at his head from behind.

Yamato then took out a bottle of mace, and successfully forced Brick to reach for his eyes instead of his pockets. She then raided said pockets and fished out his cell phone and a knife, before lending a hand with Kenji and pouncing him from behind, forcing him to release Izumi and save himself from more than a slight cut across his throat.

At this rate, they were already up against a wall. Brick was left nursing his eyes and had only his fists left even for when he'd be back up, leaving his friends alone against three girls each, and then he'd be open once they were both subdued.

The boys were unarmed and outnumbered, but were kept from moving only by the weapons the girls had pointed at them. The moment anyone made a move, they'd be free to get up and fight back or run off.

In short, they were now at a stalemate.

But even with the boys now in check, Konata was too broken to fight back. Or so she would have been, except…

"We know about that arms deal!" shouted Yamato.

"Arms deal?" asked Konata. Forget her friends whom she was forced to rat out; realizing how truly high the stakes were, she embraced newfound motivation, blinking as she came back to her senses, before taking some initially deep breaths. Surely, she would need extensive psychiatric help to adjust back to a normal life, but this was enough to help her gather much-needed strength at least for such a moment as this.

"You guys must feel really entitled," said Izumi as Konata breathed gradually faster. "Arranging a deal that will result in so many people dead just so you can make millions of yen and live the good life!"

Konata then gave Kenji a swift kick to the balls, and then doubled down on him and bit into his ear, chomping it in half before spitting it out while he screamed in pain. She then fished out his cell phone.

"Wonder how much this cost," she said. "Bet it's only a drop in the bucket, though, compared to what you expect to make. Hey, care if it joins everything of mine that I worked legit for?"

"Don't you dare!" said Kenji.

"We could use that, actually!" shouted Tamaki, just before Konata could toss it into the flames from before.

"You've worked up some serious balls, Shit-Dick! I guess you don't care what we do to Yuu-chan, huh?"

"Go ahead," said Konata while proceeding to stab Kenji here and there with the neck of a broken bottle.

"We'll make you watch, too!" said Brick "And it won't be a gunshot, either!"

"Like that should matter at this point. I'll bet there never was anything to hold out for, and she obviously wouldn't want me going on like this. You were probably never gonna release her, so what's she got left to live for?"

"Besides, she's right here" said Ko.

"She's... free!?" Konata suddenly stopped her onslaught, looking up at her and trembling excitedly. From right under their noses, she had been recording the whole thing on one of the others' phones, before throwing the lock at her captors.

"Yuu-chan!" shouted Konata, running up to her and embracing her. Neither of them was able to speak, both in tears.

"Are you fucking kidding me!?" said Brick.

"And we're getting her to a hospital," said Yamato. "Good luck coming after her there."

Not that they'd have any reason left to, just as the girls had all planned.

Or at least no tactical reason. At this point, even if they did get paid, they had nothing left to look forward to, but they could still make the most of what time they had left before oblivion or a life sentence.

He and Riku eventually got up. Knowing that everyone would just rush them were they to strike, they instead ran off.

"After them!" shouted Hiyori, and everyone gave chase, preventing them from contacting Satoshi, except for Konata and Yutaka, who were both left behind when they broke their hug.

"Guess it all paid off, didn't it!?" said Kenji, too weakened to get up as they both left. "Enjoy your fucking reunion now, bitches!"

Little had it crossed Konata's mind during all the excitement, to have picked up one of their strewn weapons and finish Kenji off right then and there, or even to have smashed a kneecap and render him truly immobile, until all three of them were long gone. Indeed, her heart sunk when the realization dawned on her.

But, it wasn't just them, or even these new friends of theirs, whom he would plot against.

As the other girls chased them down, Riku and Brick made their way back into town, where people began to notice what was going on. And they did not take long to notice the attention they were bringing upon themselves. A bunch of people in ski masks would already look suspicious, and if they actually did manage to beat their prey down, someone could call the police and jeopardize their mission before they'd have a chance to contact anyone or deal with Satoshi.

"Let's stop!" shouted Hiyori, and she and her friends all took their masks off, all out of breath.

"What do we do now?" asked Miku. "They're gonna regroup!"

"I did manage to swipe this," said Yamato, holding up Brick's phone.

"Another phone?" asked Hiyori. "Awesome! Let's use that start contacting everyone once we go live! Bet that's all they're answering to by now."

"What happened to you guys, and where's Kenji?" asked Satoshi.

"A bunch of girls got us," answered Riku. "We were busy with Shit-dick when they surrounded us with fire and shit. Yutaka's free, too."

"They got my phone," added Brick.

"They got what!?" asked Satoshi.

"One of those bitches maced me and swiped my pockets."

"Yeah, that's great! Who knows what they're gonna do with those now? But anyway, where the fuck is Kenji?"

"We had to ditch him," answered Riku. "That bitch suddenly fought back, got 'im in the balls, took his phone too. Bet he's either dead or arrested now."

"Should we go back there and get him?" asked Brick.

"Don't!" answered Satoshi. "Waste of time if he's gone, especially with Yuu-chan gone too, and the cops might already be there by now. If he's still in the game, I'm sure he'll call us soon as he can. We'll regroup with him then. Right now, our top priority is finding out who organized that."

"And how do you think we do that?" asked Riku. "We operate mostly by fear. If these are the same ones we already got, then what?"

"First, we need some new hideouts. And one of those could be Shit-Dick's house. We can set her dad as an example. Then, we capture everyone we already know about. We do exactly what you guys did to Shit-Dick, until one of them breaks down, and we let each of them know what we're doing to the others. The one who led that shit will surely give in when they can't do anything else to save themselves or their friends, when they realize their efforts have only made things even worse for everyone."

Check your email! Now! read a message to Kagami, Miyuki, and anyone else still alive, more than an hour later.

Inside was a link to a certain video now on YouTube, along with some instructions to read the description.

All the girls' bodies were censored, and the video went mute with captions each time any of them spoke. Below were the boys' names, home addresses, headquarters address, and some of their atrocities, and a message to the recipients.

Brick's phone is now ours that we managed to steal. These guys have tried to keep us all divided through fear, in order to execute some master plan that involved Miyuki Takara at the core of it all.

Now is the time to come together, in order to overwhelm these bastards and drive them out of our lives! Let us meet up at Ryouou High School, share our experiences and information on them, and plan a way to continue fighting back.

Please, do not let our victory go to waste!

Scared as they all were, they still understood the difference between fear and cowardice. For Tsukasa's funeral, there was no call to arms, and little communication between anyone to ensure that no one would die for nothing while everyone waited for the police to arrest their assailants and any possible accomplices and ensure their safety again.

This time, the example Hiyori had led, the opportunities at stake, and everyone's sense of duty to one another, were all solidified, and too great not to risk life or limb for.

"Kagami…" said Konata in tears, upon meeting with her and Miyuki at the school. "I don't know what it's like to be human anymore…"

"I saw it," Kagami replied, also crying. "Satoshi showed me. He showed me what they did to you. I'm so sorry. I should have listened to my family. I should have listened to Kusakabe. It's my fault Tsukasa is dead."

"He had footage of me in the shower," said Miyuki, crying as well.

"They made me... destroy everything I ever collected..." said Konata. "My whole life feels pointless now... Everything I bought at Comiket or won as a prize... All my fond memories of those different times... What's the point anymore, when it will all lead to... this? And I don't think I could continue this lifestyle either... It will all be a reminder of what I lost…

"All I have left now, is to protect Yuu-chan, and to make Kenji pay.

"Kagami... What was the point of my entire life?"

"As much as that all rubbed me the wrong way... I can't remotely argue with you about what you've been through," said Kagami. "How dare these guys come into our lives and ruin everything for us, just for being friends with the wrong person! I should have known something was up when Tsukasa hung herself, I mean, what reason would she have that had nothing to do with them?"

"To think I had concerned myself with protecting my father's reputation, the one who put us all in danger like this in the first place!" said Miyuki. "And why? To secure my own future? What future!? A lifetime of abuse and guilt!? Tamura-san led quite the example here, showing them that we all have a right to protect those who are dear to us. Let us follow in her footsteps, and make sure they never lay their fingers on anyone again! I will target Satoshi first."

"I'll get Riku in bed, and he won't know what's coming!" said Kagami.

"I need to protect Yuu-chan, so see who else you can get to help you with Kenji and Brick," said Konata.

"Now, two things to remember," said Hiyori, once everyone was done debating what to do. "One: Don't give into any more demands! Our homes, belongings, bank accounts, and loved ones cannot keep being advantages for them to exploit us through. Our job is to make others think twice about coming after us in the first place, and we need to set an example of those who have! Don't worry about other people's rights to life either, especially with so many more already at stake if that deal goes through!"

"Absolutely agreed!" said Miyuki. "From now on, they can take whatever and whoever they want hostage, but the fact is, they had violated us already, and we cannot keep hoping that they will spare us any one thing in exchange for letting them destroy everything else and get away with all this!"

"I still stand by what I said before," said Konata. "I am done kissing their asses just so they leave Yuu-chan alone! We want nothing less than to feel safe again!"

"They're going down, and that's final!" added Kagami.

"Two," Hiyori continued. "Do not talk to anyone! I know it might be tempting to finally talk back to those guys, but we don't want them stepping up their game if they find out about this. If anyone contacts you, let the rest of us know right away! We'll watch your backs in case someone comes after you in person."

The others agreed.

As they parted ways to do their parts, Kagami arrived at Riku's place, but there was no one there.

She waited, hiding a knife under a pillow, and stripped down to her underwear.

More than an hour passed by, before someone else would finally enter… but not the person she was expecting.

"Kenji?" asked Kagami. "What brings you here? Where's Riku?"

"Expecting to seduce him again?" asked Kenji.

"You'll do too, but where is he anyway?"

"Ran off like a pussy."

"Did something happen?"

"We were doing our thing with your friend when a bunch of other girls rushed us. They all got us down, Shit-Dick started doing a number on me, took my fucking phone even, and Riku and Brick ran for it instead of getting her ass off of me." Kagami struggled not to react upon hearing their nickname for Konata, since this information was more important. "Everyone went after them, but to think Satoshi told me that we could get through anything as long as we work together. I came here to get Riku back; the others are next."

"Oh, so you're switching sides now? Wanna prove that it wasn't me you're after?"

"I'll call Satoshi up, pretend I'm still with him, even let you listen in. We'll just fake you as a captive. Get dressed."

Kagami got her clothes on, and Kenji led her over to the house phone and dialed Satoshi up, allowing her to bring her ear close.

"Satoshi speaking," said his former leader.

"Did the others say anything to you?" he asked.

"They told me everything. We already took out Shit-Dick's dad."

Kagami could not help but reel her head away in shock, while Kenji got only more pissed from not being invited to that.

"I'm at Riku's. Got Hiiragi right here with me. What's next?"

"Miyuki. We're all going to her house and ask her what happened and what their names were."

"Cool. Hiiragi can come too. She'll be a nice hostage in case she tries anything funny."

"It's a plan. See ya."

They both hung up.

"Grab a weapon. Anything," said Kenji, and Kagami went to retrieve her knife from Riku's room.

"Let's go," Kagami replied. What he saw in her hand emerging from the bedroom did not surprise him.

"Your. Game. Ends. Now!" thought Miyuki as she awaited Satoshi with a rusty ax.

Little did she expect him, though, to show up with Riku and Brick.

And when they did, they all found themselves unable to act. Miyuki had lost her nerve being outnumbered as she was, but at the same time, her enemies did not expect to see her armed with such a deadly weapon, and none of them wanted to be the one to die first in an attempt to subdue her.

"Brick, put this bitch down without killing her," said Satoshi, overriding their fear through their loyalty to him. "I'm going through now."

He left, and Brick managed to wrestle her down before she could take a swing. She screamed as Riku confiscated the weapon from her, and they proceeded to beat her down, punching her, kicking her, and slamming her against the wall, until the sounds of a chainsaw and Satoshi screaming filled the house. Satoshi ran back to them as Minami pursued him, and grabbed Miyuki to hide behind. Miyuki was too badly hurt to struggle free, and Brick wasted no time picking up the ax, causing Minami to step back.

Minami and Brick both stood at bay of eachother, knowing that one true hit would render one of them incapacitated, leaving the other free to finish things off. Within moments, Brick took a swing at the chainsaw, and managed to knock it out of Minami's hands.

Before he could hack away at Minami herself, though, Miyuki's adrenaline surged, and she broke out of Satoshi's grip that was down while he watched the scene unfold, and gave him a well-placed kick in the balls from behind. Before either girl could pick the ax back up, though, Satoshi and Riku both tackled them and wrestled them to the floor.

Just then…

"Kenji, you're just in time!" said Satoshi as his remaining cohort arrived, armed with a machete and with a seemingly unarmed Kagami in tow. "Take Minami out and-"

"Yeah, thanks for not inviting me to take out Shit-Dick's dad!" Kenji retorted. "Like hell I'm ever helping you guys again. On your knees, all of you!"

"Kenji, what's the deal here? We can work this out-" said Satoshi as they all complied.

"Work what out? Leaving me to possibly die to Shit-Dick?"

"What were we supposed to do?" asked Riku. "Those girls all had us outnumbered and beaten."

"And you told me that we could get through anything when I complained about that cop. Get through anything, my ass! I'm lucky she and all those other girls all chased after you two instead, and you obviously got away and didn't even come back for me before taking out her dad. Riku wasn't even home when I went over to his place. Now shut up and die like I almost did!"

"We did make out Tamura among them," said Riku. "If you want, we can get her and demand the others' names."

"Same thing we did with Shit-Dick? What're we, gonna monitor the entire country? We thought we had all her friends under control, but one of them worked up the balls to gather some more. One of the ones you got to meet when this all started; surprised we didn't include her on our shitlist then instead of when we got Kusakabe. Y'know, with your kind of planning, it's a miracle we made it so fucking long! At this point, I just wanna start a new life somewhere, once I get my hands on Yuu-bitch!"

"We could help you find her."

"Fuck you. You already had Soujiro. Yutaka's mine."

"You're gonna be on your own against everyone if you kill us instead!" said Satoshi.

"As if I wasn't already? Have at 'em, girls!"

The others except Brick all shot back up, and he and Kagami took a swing at Satoshi and Riku respectively, eliciting screams and buying Miyuki and Minami a moment to pick up their respective weapons. Kenji had landed the machete across Satoshi's head, cutting his ear in half, while Kagami landed her knife into Riku's eye, half-blinding him. Both recipients had stumbled, and could not act fast enough before Miyuki landed the ax into Satoshi's ribcage and Kenji chopped Riku's fingers off from the hand nursing his eye.

"You...fucking...traitor!" shouted Satoshi as they continued to hack away at him and Riku. "Kenji!"

Brick, on the other hand, felt an adrenaline rush override his pain while Minami revved the chainsaw back up, and managed to scramble back up and flee her in a different direction from Kenji's, impeding her with chairs and such as she chased him, but it wasn't enough to buy him time to open the front door and escape. She proceeded to cut off his arm, and then his head, leaving his body to collapse.

She then returned to the others, who were still busy chopping up the late Satoshi and Riku until the returning buzz got their attention. Kenji grabbed Miyuki and held her as a shield, but Minami powered the chainsaw off, and Kagami held the knife to his throat.

"Let her go, and drop the weapon!" said Kagami, and he complied.

"Kenji, thank you for helping us," said Minami. "But this alone does not excuse everything you've done already. We are going to turn ourselves in now, and you can join us. If you wish to atone, you can sell everyone else out in your organization, and especially anyone else involved in this whole scheme."

"If you're feeling even the slightest bit of remorse, I would suggest you embrace it," added Miyuki.

"You might even get a reduced sentence," added Kagami in turn. "Especially after undermining your own cohorts, and considering how rigged the courts are against women."

"Who said anything about redemption?" said Kenji, storming off and knocking Minami down with a punch upside the head. "I'll just start myself a new life."

"No, Kenji, you don't get to run off after everything you did," called Kagami. "Get your ass back here!"

He broke into a run, and then a sprint as Kagami followed him back towards his car. He managed to climb back into the driver's seat, but with all four doors open from the remote, Kagami also managed to climb in shotgun right before he took off at top speed.

At such speed as said, Kagami had to exert all the strength she could to sit up and raise the knife. Just before she could aim with it, Kenji jerked the steering wheel left and right, knocking her off balance.

He pulled the wheel back to center, giving Kagami enough time to regain herself, and then stepped hard on the gas, throwing her off once again.

"Are you alright?" asked Minami, nursing her head.

"I did not sustain anything life-threatening," replied Miyuki. "You can go home, now. You still have Kobayakawa-san to watch after, so please remain free, and thank you for your help."

Minami left, but not before hacking up a gob just for the one who killed her dog.

If only she could have delivered him the finishing blow, or even just watch his death unfold. But then again, she knew she wasn't his only victim, or even anywhere near his first; she was lucky to have been around to even contribute to his demise.

Kagami's battle with Kenji raged on, with a series of sharp U-turns, sudden stops, and other moves, until something dawned on her.

She grabbed the steering wheel, and yanked it in her direction, veering the car into one of the trees lining the sidewalk, stopping it dead in its tracks and waking people up in the surrounding houses. In the mere moment that it would have taken Kenji to switch from drive mode to fight mode, she finally made her mark with the knife, right into his eye socket, drawing a scream from him. He was still alive despite the brain damage, but now defenseless as he clutched his eye with impaired functionality, and she saw an opening and began stabbing away at his belly before he grabbed her by the wrist. She struggled to wrest free of his grip as he tried to pry her fingers off the handle, but then his grip loosened as he started coughing up blood.

"And to think I thanked you for killing Tsukasa in the first place and keeping everyone else out of my life, and for everything else you did!" she shouted while then pulling his hair backwards and hacking again at his face and neck and continuing to shout at the top of her lungs while he struggled to scream. "Konata, Yutaka, Minegishi, Kuroi, Shiraishi!"

Those who had come out to see what had just happened initially expected to see someone having emerged from the car. A few came over to make sure its occupants were okay, but dared not to open any doors when they saw what was going on inside, lest they be next for all they knew. Quickly, they urged their families back indoors before calling the police.

Fueled by all that rage and adrenaline, and working her way down to his torso, Kagami couldn't help but continue cutting Kenji up and shouting incoherently for the next few minutes even as he gave out.

"I'll make sure we all come to YOUR funeral, and tell everyone what kind of people you really were and what you did and even where you did it, you and your good publicity!"

But eventually, it all wore off, and she slumped down, breathing heavily and dropping the weapon.

She was eventually found by the police, some time after they had already taken care of things at Miyuki's house. She was taken in along with the body while still worn out, but would renew her vigor by the time they reached the station.

Meanwhile, no, Konata had not withheld anything from Kagami. Yutaka was with her, and they both each carried a weapon while Konata led her to the ends of the earth, not knowing that their former tormentors were all dead. They had yet to be found by the police.

Our main targets are all dead, but our mission is far from over.

With those four out of the game, others are probably going to want revenge. If we're to ensure everyone's safety without having to all move out, we need to get our hands on as many others as possible until the Fujisaku yakuza itself disbands. There is no room for a truce either. We've only banded together for one cause, and they will only wait until we feel safe again before they kill someone we will never get back.

Right now, we are not powerful enough to storm their headquarters, but we can continue to pick off individual members while they struggle to find out who most of us are and even more people join our fight. Its leader, Kai Fujisaku, will be next.

"Father," said Miyuki, many hours later in prison. "I do not forgive you simply for bailing me out. Your cowardice is exactly why I'm even here, but you do have a chance to atone. Right now, my friends, the ones who are left, are waging a rebellion against that yakuza family, and you can help us grow in order to crush them."

Well, I'm not really interested in what would have become of Miyuki, Kagami, or Kai after these events, or whether or not that arms deal would have gone through. I mean, I'd be open to those, but the comeuppance was all I actually cared about, after having Konata and Yutaka's situation in particular still burned into my mind even after everything else subsided for me.

If anyone would like to reconstruct what would have led to the events here just for the sake of a complete story, I would more than welcome that (and would also appreciate the break between school years presented correctly), but it might be more than a bit tricky. Presumably, the original idea was to construct what would have led Miyuki to kill a few people, but long story short, the logistics just barely held up from there. To begin with, Satoshi's entire scheme revolved primarily around trapping her into giving him security information, on a place that she's probably never even visited for all he'd know, that she even mentions simply overhearing from Jiro. Blood himself even told me later, after deleting CU, that he was not in the right state of mind looking back to be writing anything at the time.
