"Alright everyone, you ready to get going?"

"Let's go!"

"I call shotgun!"

"Just let me grab my sword."

Astro walked over and grabbed Ocean's Kiss, which was in it's charmed form. Sear bounced over towards him, eager to follow his rider off to whatever adventure he and the others seemed to be headed off to. Astro reached down and patted him on the head. "Sorry boy, but you can't come along on this one. Enemy is supposed to be able to control beasts," he explained.

Sear grunted, giving him a doubtful look. "But brother! I am no normal beast that I could be controlled so easily. Surely I am the exception to whatever power this foe has!"

"Yes, I know boy. But better safe than sorry, yeah? Be good while I'm gone. Look after everyone while I'm gone and I'll have a treat for you when I get back."

The dragon didn't look very satisfied, but nodded nonetheless. "Very well. I shall watch over the clan in your absence. Be well brother."

Astro turned and began heading out, and as he did Sear looked over towards Envie, who was patting him on the head. "Try not to start any trouble Gozer," she said towards the tabby cat lounging on the table.

"Yes, yes, I know. No stirring up trouble," the cat spoke as it licked it's paws. "Be careful out there. You know how reckless you can be."

"Oh shut up." She flicked his ear before turning and leaving. Sometimes having a special ghost cat was really cool. And other times it was a total smartass. Still, you take the good with the bad. "Bye Sear. Try and get along with you guys."

Sear grunted a goodbye towards her, and then turned towards Gozer. "Grrr, why did I have to get left with the feline? I do not trust him. Even among his kind, which are untrustworthy to start with, he is odd. As if he was without life itself…"

Gozer noticed him staring, and rolled his eyes. "Oh great, they left you behind again. Do me a favor and don't try to eat me today. We both know by this point it's pointless."

"Quiet feline! I don't trust you! You talk like the two legs, it is not natural…" Sear said, keeping his gaze on him. "Don't think to try anything while I am here. I am watching both you, and over the rest of the clan."

Gozer hummed. "Good for them." He jumped down from the table and began walking off, and Sear quickly began following after him. "Seriously?"

"Where are you going feline?"

"To the kitchen, to get a snack."

At the word snack, Sear's eyes lit up. "Snacks?"

Gozer had an idea. A smirk came across his face. "Yes, snacks. Perhaps you'd like to help me out. You could get yourself some snacks too," he suggested. He knew he could get them on his own, but having a dragon around to help would make things easier.

Sear looked down. On one hand, his brother would no doubt be back and give him his promised snacks. On the other hand… if he got snacks now, that meant he would get an extra snack later!

"Hmm… very well feline. I will help you. For the snacks. But I will also be watching you closely, for I still do not trust you."

"I'll keep that in mind. Now let's go," Gozer said making his way out of the room. Sear followed after him, mind focused on the snacks he would sink his teeth in.

"Well hey there you two." Amber said as she reached out and patted both Gozer and Sear. she was surprised to see them walking into the kitchen together. From what she had gathered they didn't seem like eachother very much.

Both the animals purred contently. "Ah, brother's other mate, the flame maiden. Surely she will help us get our snacks. Feline, ask her for assistance," the dragon demanded.

"Meow…"

Sear glared down at Gozer. "That was not an ask for assistance! You speak the language of the two legs! Ask her!"

Amber looked down at the tow confused. Gozer seemed fine, but Sear had turned on the cat and looked upset for some reason. "Huh? What's wrong?"

Levi, who was nearby grabbing himself a snack, chuckled. "Fellas right riled up ain't he? Maybe he's feeling a little lonely with Astro out right now," he suggested.

"Is that it?" Amber asked, looking towards the dragon. "Well maybe you'd like to go for a flight. I think I have some time."

Sear grunted. "No! I wish for the feline to speak! I know you can talk feline! Talk!" he demanded. Gozer merely meowed again and began licking his paw. "Curse you feline!"

"Or maybe nature is calling," Levi said, crossing his arms. "He does to his business outside… or in Cayenne's office."

"And curse the wingless ones for being unable to speak dragon tongue!" Sear complained. "Perhaps if I can speak in their tongue…"

They watched as Sear began making a strange noise. It looked like… "He coughing up a hairball or something?" Levi asked. He'd seen cats wheeze like this before they did.

"He doesn't have hair," Amber pointed out.

Gozer just looked amused as Sear kept trying to make some sort of human sounding noise. Eventually the dragon grew frustrated and just began darting around the kitchen angrily. "I think we upset the fella somehow," Levi said scratching his head. "Maybe we should just leave him alone for now."

Amber hummed. "Yeah, it could have something to do with mating seasons or something," she said. "Astro did mention mating season is coming up. Dragons tend to get very fidgety around that time."

"Bah! That's not what I'm saying!" The two combat specialist left while Sear fumed at the cat. "Why do you not speak to them?!"

Gozer scoffed. "I only speak to Envie. You didn't notice that by now? If I started talking to everyone then they'd expect things from me. And I don't want that. So when people are around, I just meow," he said simply.

"Lazy feline."

"Yes, I'm lazy. Now let's get what we came for already," Gozer said looking up. "I need you to lift me up to the top shelf. That's where they keep the most delicious foods in a vain attempt to hide them from the pudgy little one who eats all the time."

"Ah yes, the pudgy one. He does eat a lot."

"Yes, he does. Now, I'm going to climb on top of your head, and then you can-" Sear suddenly snapped down on the back of his neck, lifting him up like he was a newborn kitten. "What are you doing?!"

"Boosting you."

Sear suddenly threw him up to the top cabinet. Gozer nearly hit the ceiling and just barely managed to reach out and claw the edge of the cabinet. "Hey! Watch it!" he snapped angrily.

"Get the snacks feline!"

Gozer rolled his eyes as he walked across the top of the cabinet. He spotted a can of cashews and then smirked. "Oops." He knocked the can over and it landed right next to the dragon's head. "Sorry."

"You did that on purpose feline!"

"No I didn't. Oops again."

Sear moved out of the way just before jar of peanuts hit him. "I'm going to eat you when you get down here! And nothing you can say or do with save you from-!"

Gozer jumped down, holding a large bag of sugar cookies in his mouth. "Whose do you think these are? I think their Damian's. It just seems like his."

"Snacks!" Sear moved forward and nudged him lightly with his nose. "You are forgiven! Now let us feast before the others return and don't give us extra snacks!"

"You know your very fickle. Are you sure you're not part cat?"

"Don't make me reconsider eating you."

Sear ripped the bag open, and began digging in. "Hey, don't hog the entire bag for yourself. You eat more than the little blonde one," Gozer complained.

"Oh, I can only pray that I may eat as much as little sister one day. Her stomach is truly bottomless," he said. "And stop worrying. There are many more snacks for us to eat before they get back."

Gozer raised an eyebrow. "How many snacks are you intending to eat?"

"How many are up there?"

Astro and Envie looked down at their companions as they laid on the kitchen floor, bellies full from all of the snacks that they'd pilfered. They'd eaten so much they didn't even bother trying to scurry off before they were caught, instead just deciding to take a nap then and there.

"Well, at least they got along today," Envie said, shrugging her shoulders.

"I'd tell him he's not getting anymore snacks, but I very much doubt he's concerned with that right now," Astro said, crossing his arms.

Nia glared down at them. "They ate all of my ding-dongs…"

Astro's eyes widened. "Uh… yeah, they ate those. Bad… bad dragon and cat…"

"Wait, I thought you were the one who-?"

"I knew it!"

"AH!"

Envie watched as an angry looking Nia stood over her brother, who was now holding his ankle in pain. "Yep, that was you…" the ghost girl muttered.

"Your human looks hurt…" Gozer muttered.

"He'll be fine…" Sear said, too content with his full stomach to check on him now.
