Chapter 7: Affection

There was one thing Zim was uncomfortable with that humans did, affection. It was gross and touchy and really foreign to the alien. The first time he was given affection was from that Keef human and that didn't end well. The next time he was given affection was from the Dib when Zim found out his leaders lied to him, about everything. This type of affection didn't disgust the alien like he thought it would. He actually found it kinda nice.

That didn't mean he would let himself get touched willy nilly once they had their truce formed. He would avoid any possible contact that wasn't necessary but at the same time, the alien found himself getting close to the teen to feel the human's warmth.

Now he was more aware of it more than ever lately as the weather got colder. He hated the filthy white stuff they call snow, it was just like the rain but it didn't just go away, it gathered together for days on end until it melts into its liquid form. It did give the excuse of bundling up in his favorite fluffy blankets.

"Sir, the human is at the door." The computer informed Zim, snapping the alien out of his thoughts.

"About time!" Zim exclaimed going up his elevator to the ground floor and headed to the door, hearing the other knocking.

Dib shivered as he stood outside of Zim's door, holding a bag of movies and snacks, the teen was going to hang out to watch movies. It was movie night for them and Dib really hated how Zim would wait to open the door for him. "Come on Zim, I know you're there!" Dib shouted before the door opened to a smug-looking alien.

"That's what you get for keeping Zim waiting!"

Dib rolled his eyes as he walked inside. "Well, sorry snow is hard to walk through," Dib said sarcastically as he took off his coat and set the bag down, and sat on the couch.

"Excuses!" Zim exclaimed as Dib set the tv up for the movies they were going to watch while grabbing the blankets.

"Whatever, come on, bug," Dib said wrapping the blankets around himself, leaving a spot open for the alien.

Zim tsked and climbed onto the couch, letting Dib wrap the blankets over them. Zim really couldn't deny he liked this, having this type of touch. It really wasn't anything he was used to, but now he was glad the Dib introduced it to him.
