The Lion King Au

Episode 2: Attack of the Past

"Your father was wonderful," Nala said, recalling the time she spent with her mate in those years before the darkness took over, "we were best friends ever since we were cubs. We fell in love when we were 13, and after 8 years of dating, we got married. But Scar manipulated his mind for a long time. He put in thoughts in his head that made him doubt his father. Eventually, after a huge misunderstanding, he attacked the Pridelands with Scar's army of Hyenas. I was pregnant at the time, and when I saw the chaos, I thought I lost him, and in a way, I did. I went to talk to him but he was no longer the kind, sweet, and caring lion I married, instead he was filled with anger, jealousy, and a lust for power. I tried to reason with him, but instead, he attacked me and I was knocked unconscious. Most of the pride managed to escape here, and that was when I gave birth to you two."Kion and Kiara saw the remorse on their mother's face.

The memories of Simba were painful for her, and it pained her to tell her cubs that their father was a monster," I'm sorry this happened mom" said Kion feeling guilty."How come you, or grandma, or grandpa never told us about him? "Kiara asked

"We thought It would be best to tell you when you were older. But for me, I didn't want to tell you because...because those memories of your father...it makes me sad to remember what he was like before he turned to the darkness."

Nala's eyes began to water up and started to slowly flow down her face as she felt the pain of her mate's betrayal. Kion and Kiara saw the sadness expressed on their mother's face, and understood how much their father's betrayal had affected her, they felt bad that their mother had to experience this type of loss.

Kion and Kiara walked off to process the story about their father. It was hard to comprehend the fact that they are the cubs of a cold-blooded killer. Kion walked out of the fields, and into the forest before walking up to a hill, he walked up to the top of the hill and he sat down, he began to think about what happened, but he was not alone.

"So where were you?" Kion perked up, he felt a little excited when he heard that voice, instantly knowing who it was. He turned his head back and saw Tiffu walking up the hill and next to Kion, "oh um, me and Kiara got lost in the Pridelands."Tiffu sat down next to Kion, which made him feel even more nervous and made his heart beat faster, "how did you two get lost in the Pridelands?"

"Me and Kiara were walking home from the flower meadow, then it started to rain. Kiara slipped in the mud and fell into the river, "Tiffu nodded, although Kion's response did raise another question for her. "Why were you at the flower meadow?"

Not expecting the question, Kion went quiet for a bit before answering, "umm, I-I was going to get a flower for someone I liked." Tiffu became even more curious," and who is the lucky girl? "Kion's heart started to beat faster, he knew that he couldn't lie to her, but he struggled to answer, "you, "Kion nervously whispered.

"What, I couldn't hear you."Kion mustered up all the courage he had inside of him, and spoke up,"I-I, it was you." Kion closed his eyes nervously, expecting some form of backlash from her, "what."

"Yeah, I wanted to get a flower from the meadow and give it to you, because I like you,"Tiffu was speechless, her face started to heat up and her heart started to beat fast as she was processing Kion's confession.

As for Kion. he thought he ruined everything, but he heard nothing, instead, Tiffu licked his cheek and nuzzled him."I like you too," Kion smiled, having a small feeling of victory inside him, "really? "Tiffu smiled back at Kion, "yeah, what you tried to do, was very sweet, even though you could have just told me."

"I-I didn't know what to say, I never expected you to like me back, even now I don't know what to say, "Tiffu snuggled closer to Kion, "you don't have to say anything, just stay in the moment," Tiffu and Kion just stayed quiet as they watched the sunset together.

Pridelands

Simba went up to his own personal army of Hyenas and instantly told them to find any traces of Kion and his family, and immediately, the Hyenas ran out of the Pridelands. Simba thought of the fact that his cub is alive. All those years, he thought he had no one after he was told that Nala was dead. But now that he has a son, Simba was determined to track down his cub and have Kion join him.

After some intense searching, Simba managed to track down Kion to a place in the Jungle. He walked through the trees and bushes, and he saw Kion cuddling with Tiffu as they slept under the stars. But Kion heard Simba walking up to them, and he was quick to react so his girlfriend wouldn't be put in any danger.

"Tiffu, wake up," Kion shook Tiffu awake with his paw, "w-what, what's happening," Tiffu woke up and rubbed her eyes with her paw."Get back to the pride, I will follow behind," Tiffu felt a great deal of concern for Kion, seeing the distressed look on his face, "What's going on?"

"I will explain later, just please," Tiffu nodded, understanding his concern, so she stood up and walked back to the pride."I was gone for twelve years and already you already managed to have a lioness fall for you."

Kion turned around and saw his father standing there. When he looked at Simba, he felt a small amount of anger inside him, he was mad for how much he had hurt his mother, but Kion was also mad for the fact that he and Kiara grew up without a father, he felt abandoned and betrayed, "what are you doing here Dad?" Simba walked closer to the cub, he assumed that Mufasa or someone else must have told Kion about his heritage. "So you know, good."

Kion narrowed his eyes at his father and released a small growl at Simba. "What do you want?" Simba chuckled to himself, he was amused by his son's aggression, "I want to see my son of course...but when I saw you with her, it reminded me of how I and your mother were when we were your age."

A hint of remorse and regret was in Simba's voice when he recalled the memories of Nala, which Kion noticed, but he refused to let his guard down."I won't let you hurt Tiffu."Simba shook his head, "I'm not going to hurt your mate, I know the pain of losing the girl you love, I won't let you feel that pain, that is, if you join me."

"What?" Kion questioned, was his father serious about this, "join me, and together, we can rule the Pridelands as father and son."

Kion growled at his father, he didn't want his mother to get hurt anymore,"I would never join you," Kion swiped his claw into the ground and knocked dirt into Simba's eye. Simba shouted in pain, and Kion used this as an opportunity to run away.

Kion quickly ran back to the Pride. He saw Tiffu sitting there, waiting for him. Kion quickly ran up to her and hugged his girlfriend. "Kion, what happened? Who was that?" Tiffu asked, worried about her boyfriend, she didn't want anything to happen to him.

"That lion back there, he's my father." Tiffu was taken back by the news, everyone else never really spoke about the mate of Nala, and just tried to brush it off whenever someone asked about Simba. "Really?"

"Yeah, he was the one who attacked me and Kiara when we got lost in the Pridelands, "Tiffu understood who it was, "oh."Kion went quiet as he was deep in his thoughts. Tiffu saw that in Kion, something was bothering him.

"Kion, what's wrong?" She asked. "I saw something in my dad." Kion continued his thoughts as he recalled his encounter with Simba, "what do you mean?"

"He said that when he saw me with you, it reminded him of when he was with my mom...he is in pain, he still thinks that my mom is dead." Tiffu nuzzled Kion to comfort him, Kion felt bad for his parents, seeing that both of them had to go through the pain of losing each other, "what are you going to do."

"There is still good in him, it was why he didn't kill me, he doesn't want to lose the only family he has left. Maybe if I can talk to him, then I can save him from the darkness, "Tiffu hugged Kion, she admired the fact that Kion was willing to help his father, despite the fact that Simba being a tyrant, "I know you can do it Kion."

Meanwhile

Simba wiped the dirt out of his eyes and looked up. He saw that Kion was gone, but he couldn't outrun him for long. A few Hyenas walked up behind Simba. "Looks like you lost the cub!" Said one of the Hyenas.

Simba angrily looked off into the distance. "I didn't, he is just going to lead us to the rest of the pride."

"Very smart." Said another Hyena.

"Follow him, once you find the Pride, begin the attack. But leave Kion alive, I need to talk to him. If you see Kovu and Nuka, also bring them to me, I want to personally kill them." Ordered Simba. The Hyenas bowed down and ran off to fulfill Simba's orders.

Kion sprinted through the dark and cold night. He felt the wind brush against his fur while he was running through his home as he desperately tried to find his mother, he needed to tell her about his encounter with his father, and how he wants him to be his heir.

After some quick searching, Kion spotted his mother sleeping near a tree. The cub walked over to his mother and shook her awake. Nala opened her eyes and yawned as she woke up. She lifted her head and looked to see her son standing next to her. "Mom, mom," Kion said

"Kion, what is it," she said as she tried to go back to sleep.

"it's dad, he found me," Nala jolted awake. "What do you mean."

"Earlier just now, he found me and Tiffu, and he asked me to be his heir." Nala froze out of shock, but after she was able to process what her son told her, she stood up, and let out a roar, waking up the Pride, so she can inform them about Simba's return.

Everyone in the Pride opened their tired eyes when they heard Nala's roar. They looked and saw that it was still nighttime, which somewhat irritated them. "What's going on," one of the lionesses asked.

"Simba, he found us," Nala informed.

When the pride heard the name Simba, everyone started to panic. Nala informed them that they were to leave the forest at once so Scar couldn't find them. Fuli and Bunga decided to go along with them, except for Ono, who had to stay with his flock.

The males and some females of the pride assisted in helping the cubs, mothers, and older lions evacuate. They were able to quickly do so before they heard laughter off in the distance. Everyone looked and saw an army of hyenas.

Nala told everyone to run and to meet up at the randevu point. The rest of the lionesses and the males fought off the hyenas as everyone else made their escape.

Kiara and Kion were trying to get to safety, however, Kion was distracted. He had a great sense of guilt inside of him. He felt like everything was his fault, and that he led his father to the Pride.

Kion blamed himself for all of this, and that was when he heard cries for help off in the distance.

Kion looked into her eyes and saw the fear and terror that was inside her. Adrenaline filled Kion's body, and he used all of his strength to fight off the Hyenas. Once he fought off the hyenas, he was able to lead Tiffu back to safety. "Tiffu, are you ok?"

"I'm fine, thanks for saving me," Tiffu said as she nuzzled Kion.

"Get back to the Pride, I'll catch up."

"Where are you going?"

"Don't worry about me, just go."

Tiffu nodded and ran off to the randevu point. Kion turned around and ran off

Kovu and Nuka decided to distract Simba's troops instead of evacuating. Whenever they would get the chance, the two brothers would try to get Simba's troops off task, as part of their revenge against him in an attempt to avenge their parents.

The two dark-furred lion cubs laughed out of enjoyment until they heard a roar. They were quickly knocked down and fall on their backs. Both of them looked up. "Uh, hiiiiiii Simba," said Nuka trying to act innocent.

"What brings you here?" said Kovu with a fake smile across his face.

"I have waited for this moment for a long time!" Simba said slowly approaching them.

"Wh-what are ya gonna do Simba?" asked Nuka

"You two have been a pain in my fur for far too long, it's time that I end it!"

Simba unsheathed his claw and went to attack Nuka and Kovu, but was suddenly knocked down before he could do any harm to the two cubs. "Leave my friends alone Dad!" Kion yelled at his father.

"Do you really think that they are your friends?" Simba asked.

"They are, and I won't let you hurt them, like how you hurt Mom."

"Don't you DARE MENTION HER!" Simba shouted in fury.

The second Kion mentioned Nala, the painful memories came back, the guilt, her death. Guilt and rage-filled Simba, and he pounced at his Son. But Kion was able to quickly dodge him and ran off.

Elevated on a hill, Nala watched Kion's confrontation with his father. Despite a large amount of distance between them, she saw the pain and guilt in his eyes.

But something caught her eye. She looked up and saw a figure approaching. It didn't take her long before she realized who it was. As much as she wanted to reassure her mate that she was alive, she had to leave

"Even though you managed to track the pride down, they still got away!" Scar said with a look of disappointment.

"If we can track them down once, we can do it again! And besides, I want my son, he's the last thing I have left of Nala." Replied Simba

Meanwhile

Nala and the rest of the pride else met up at the rondevu point and found a place they could temporarily stay for the night. Immediately everyone began to discuss where to go now since Scar and his army found their hiding spot.

One Lion suggested that they should go to The Tree of Life. Everyone voted and they all agreed with the suggestion.

Everyone was dismissed so they could rest for the long journey ahead.

Kion however wasn't able to sleep, he tried to get into a sleeping position that was more comfortable for him, but he couldn't doze off. After several attempts at falling asleep, Kion saw his girlfriend was also unable to pass out. "Tiffu, are you asleep?" Asked Kion.

"Nope." Replied Tiffu to her boyfriend

"Do you want to hang out?"

"Sure."

The 2 lion cubs just hung out gazing at the stars, enjoying each other's company. Tiffu knew that something happened when Kion left during the evacuation and especially knew that it was bothering him. "Do you want to talk about it?" She asked.

"Talk about what?"

"What happened back there, I know somethings bothering you."

"Fine...I confronted my dad. I mentioned my mom, and he got pissed."

"You said that he thinks that she's dead."

"I know, he must have blamed himself for what happened to her. I can't imagine, living all those years in guilt. It must be painful."

Tiffu nuzzled Kion. "Don't worry, I'll always be there for you." Kion smiled and nuzzled her back.

Then the two Lion cubs fell asleep under the stars in each other's embrace. Kion felt calm and was able to peacefully pass out with his girlfriend by his side.

Meanwhile, Nala was thinking about Simba, how he had changed so much over the years. She saw the hate and anger that was still in her mate, but she also saw pain and sorrow. The thing that tortured Simba for over a decade.

Simba, and his girlfriend, we're hanging out together, running around the Pridelands. The two of them have been close ever since they confessed their feelings for each other. They have been dating for a year now, and today was their anniversary.

Simba had an amazing day planned for the two of them. The thirteen-year-old cub walked up to Pride Rock to get his girlfriend. He had a huge smile across his face, today was going to be perfect.

Simba walked around, looking for her. He caught her scent and followed it. He was just about to call out her name when he saw that she was with another male.

Pain filled his heart, and Simba ran away in tears. The big day he had planned was ruined. He ran into the den, curled up, and started to cry. However, it would be so long before someone noticed the crying. "Hey Simba, what's wrong?" asked Nala.

"I don't want to talk about it!" Simba said with a muffled voice that was buried under his paws.

"Are you sure?" Nala walked next to Simba and gave him a small hug.

"I don't know."

"Maybe if you tell me you will feel better"

Simba looked up at her. Tears stained his fur, his eyes were red, and his ears flopped down. "Today, was me and my girlfriend's anniversary. I had a big day planned for us and…. I caught her cheating on me!"

"I'm so sorry," Nala said, allowing Simba to hug her for comfort.

"It's fine, but can you leave? I want to be alone for a bit."

"Sure, bye Simba," Nala stood up and she walked out, leaving Simba alone. She felt a bit guilty for leaving him alone when he needed someone, but she respected his wishes, and she exited the den.

However, there was a small part of Nala that was happy. She never really liked his girlfriend, she was a huge brat and whenever Simba was around, she would just act like a sweet and kind girl which infuriated her. So to see that her best friend was no longer with her did manage to put a smile on her face

Over the next few days, Simba was able to slowly recover from his breakup. He was spending more time with Nala, and Nala was happy that Simba was recovering.

Usually, when Simba and Nala would hang out, there was that childlike wonder inside of them. But this time, there was something more between them. And after a while, both of them realized that they had a crush on each other.

Simba and Nala didn't know how to react to their new feelings. However, each of their respective friend groups knew what was going on between them. Nala's group of friends decided to team up with Simba's group of friends, in order to create the perfect date night.

They spent most of the day, making sure that everything was perfect, and all they had to do was get them together. Simba's friends managed to convince him to ask out Nala, and although he was reluctant at first, he decided he would do it.

Simba walked up to the tan colored lioness cub and "casually" asked her to meet him tonight. Nala was surprised by this, but she nervously agreed to the "date".

The two met up that night and everything was perfect, they had a good time with each other. There was a spark between the two of them. Love was in the air that night.

And finally, Simba got the courage he needed and decided to talk to Nala and tell her everything.

"Tonight was fun!" Nala said, smiling at Simba.

"Y-yeah,...so Nala, can I tell you something?" Simba asked, trying his best not to mess up.

"Uh sure, what is it?"

"I know that you are my best friend and if you don't feel the same way then I understand but-"

"Just tell me."

"I LIKE YOU!"

Nala was stunned. She had no idea what to say. To her, it felt like a dream, she just had the most perfect night with the guy she liked, and for him to confess that he liked her, she couldn't believe it. She just stood there in silence, trying to process everything.

Simba, on the other hand, thought the silence meant something else. "I guess you don't feel the same way. I'm sorry," His ears flopped down, and he began to walk away.

Nala quickly realized what was happened, and quickly reacted. "SIMBA WAIT!" Nala ran up to Simba, hoping it wasn't too late. Simba turned around and saw Nala but before he knew it, his muzzle was pressed against hers.

"I like you too"

"really"

"Yeah, I really do"

The two of them embraced each other, not wanting this moment to end at all. After that night, the two started to date for eight years before Simba proposed to her.

Nala of course said yes, and they got married. The two lions were a happy couple, with Nala announced as the future Queen. Nala later told Simba she was pregnant and he couldn't be happier, Simba was going to be a father.

The second she announced that she was pregnant, Simba hugged Nala as he was crying out of Joy, his life couldn't be better. Simba for the next few months did everything he could to be prepared as a father. But Nala Noticed something wrong with Simba. But then it was too late.

The fire raged on, Nala ran to her mate hoping he was alive, but he wasn't, the lion she fell in love with was gone. She tried to reason with Simba, hoping to bring him back to the light, but she couldn't, and before she knew it, she passed out after Simba angrily attacked her.

A few hours later she gave birth to twin lion cubs, Kion and Kiara, she cried knowing how much Simba wanted to be a father, but now he won't ever be able to be one.

Present-day

Nala woke up with tears on her face. She still remembered the day she and Simba confessed their love for each other. She glanced over at Kion and Tiffu cuddling with each other, then noticed that Kiara unknowingly fell asleep against Kovu.

Nala stood up and walked out, hoping to clear her head and to calm herself down.

"I remember years ago

Someone told me I should take

Caution when it comes to love

I did, I did

And you were strong and I was not

My illusion, my mistake

I was careless, I forgot

I did

And now when all is done

There is nothing to say

You have gone and so effortlessly

You have won

You can go ahead tell them Tell them all I know now

Shout it from the roof tops

Write it on the skyline

All we had is gone now

Tell them I was happy

And my heart is broken

All my scars are open

Tell them what I hoped would be

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Falling out of love is hard

Falling for betrayal is worst

Broken trust and broken hearts

I know, I know

Thinking all you need is there

Building faith on love and words

Empty promises will wear

I know (I know)

And now when all is gone

There is nothing to say

And if you're done with embarrassing me

On your own you can go ahead tell them Tell them all I know now

Shout it from the roof tops

Write it on the skyline

All we had is gone now

Tell them I was happy

And my heart is broken

All my scars are open

Tell them what I hoped would be

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible Ooh impossible (yeah yeah)I remember years ago

Someone told me I should take

Caution when it comes to love

I did, Tell them all I know now

Shout it from the roof top

Write it on the skyline

All we had is gone now

Tell them I was happy (I was happy)

And my heart is broken

All my scars are open

Tell them what I hoped would be

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible, I remember years ago

Someone told me I should take

Caution when it comes to love

I did"

Nala went back to the Pride and fell asleep. The next day they would arrive at the Tree of Life and see if whoever was in charge would allow the Pride to seek refuge.

Yes, after 10 thousand years I'm free. I finally finished editing this chapter. Also FYI the song used is "Impossible" by Shontelle. I dont have much else to say.
