'The Incident'

It was finally quiet! It had taken much effort on Haruhi's part and the promise (read as bribe) of her baking cookies tomorrow but the host club members were all doing homework and had fallen into silence with the occasional murmurings on a difficult assignment. Haruhi happily sipped some tea as she wrote out her first rough draft on a history essay. Mori, also one to appreciate the lack of antics, set himself next to her on the loveseat she was using. Haruhi looked up for a moment to smile and acknowledge him before returning to her work. The twins, however, decided at that moment that homework was boring and their were much more fun things they could be spending their valuable time on. It was also decided that Haruhi was one of those things.

"Oh Haruhi...!" She really wasn't sure how she managed to get her work done and stay at the top of her class.

"What." It really was less of a question of what (as it was almost surely something uncomfortable for her) and more of how soon she could get it over with. The answer, as it turned out, was not very.

"We were wondering if you might want to come to our house this weekend," Kaoru began

"And have some fun." Hikaru finished

Before Haruhi could respond that no, she did not want to go to their house, and no, she did not want to participate in anything the twins dubbed 'fun', Tamaki intervened on a quest to preserve her purity. "HOW DARE YOU DEVIL TWINS ATTEMPT TO CORRUPT MY SWEET DAUGHTER WITH YOUR SHADY WAYS!" As it turned out, tormenting Tamaki was also on the twin's list of things more fun to do than homework. Tamaki's outburst resulted in a chorus of taunts from the twins and a chase initiated by Tamaki. After breaking one tea set (added to Haruhi's debt of course) and knock over multiple couches (to be cleaned up later by Haruhi) the three (soon to be dead) idiots realized that not only had they annoyed Kyoya and Haruhi, but had awoken the low blood pressure beast from his nap as well. The events following may not be disclosed due to a confidentiality agreement signed shortly after the events of that day. As such it is usually referred to by the few who heard about before Kyoya handled whoever leaked it as 'The Incident'. I CAN say however, that the three victims have fully recovered. Mostly.

After Hunny had calmed down and Kyoya had taken care of the injured (partially, as he had enjoyed the quiet too before they ruined it) Haruhi had flopped onto her loveseat and hoped to salvage what was left of her afternoon and belief that people were good. Mori sat next to her slowly (Hunny had just gone to finish his nap) and placed a large hand on her head in a gesture meant to be comforting.

She turned his head to him and smiled slightly, "Thanks senpai."

"Hn" Was his only reply before shifting his hand ever so slightly so it rested closer to the back of her head and slowly massaging her head.

"I don't think I ever want kids.." Haruhi mumbled before closing her eyes and leaning into his hand slightly, not really expecting a reply. She received one nevertheless, though there was a slight pause before it came.

"It might be a little late for that."

A/N:
I wanted to try something with chapters without commiting to a full on story yet. I kind of like this but I wish it were a little more clear. Subtlety is okay though because it's Mori. That's right I said it. Mori and Haruhi are totally parenting all the other hosts in this. Except Kyoya. He's an uncle or something in this. I may take suggestions so that I add more faster as I don't currently have many ideas. Just to be clear all hosts are involved (and maybe some side characters later) but I reached the limit of four and decided to only use the characters that I would mainly use. This will probably feature themes of romance but the friendship is much more apparent and I could only put two genres.

P.S. I was told to try separating the dialogue so it's easier to read and I also tried spacing as seems to squish thing together if you don't put entire spaces. I didn't want to separate too much though and I think it looks good. I've figured out what I want to do for the next one and Kyoya will not be a happy camper.
