It's been roughly a year since Sly disappeared along with Le Paradox's machine, a lot has changed since then. Bently has been trying his best to find out where and when Sly is, searching through many sources to gain a clue on his whereabouts, but nothing has ever helped. Murray continued wrestling, where he remains unbeatable to this day. As for Carmelita, she kept on doing her police work, arresting criminals, and all that jazz. She also helped to find Sly by doing her investigation on what remains of this era. As for me, I went and tried to get info on my ex-partner's location via the public, whether it was rumors or anything of the sort. There are times when Bently, I, and sometimes Carmelita would meet up sharing what we gathered. Tonight, I met up with him again.

I went to the front door of the Cooper gang's safehouse and rang the doorbell, as I always do. Bently answered the door, "Oh, hey, Cody." Bently said, "If you're checking if we gain any leads, then you're out of luck." That's what he said as if he knew that's what I was going to ask. "Nah, just thought I visit y'all for once," I replied. Bently gave an intrigued expression, then let me inside. The place hasn't looked as different since the last time I came. I think I'll leave it to your imagination on this one, just simply imagine what an apartment would look like, and there's your answer. Bently went to his lab as he always does.

Inside was a lot of tech and gadgets that don't stand out much on the metallic floor, walls, and ceiling. The only ones that DO stand out are the giant computer at the end of the lab, a giant safe protected by a laser door, and a pedestal with the Thievius Racoonus on it. "You can check whatever you want, just don't disturb me or take anything." The last thing Bently said before going back to his searching. I decided to read the Thievius Raccoonus. Bently noticed and said, "You want to become a thief or something?" "As if, that's Sly's thing, not mine." I snapped back.

Ignoring what Bently said, I just read through the book without hesitation. This old book was overflowing with tricks and techniques Sly's ancestors got down, and I imagine Sly himself used some of these during his heists or even just escaping the police. The book positively entranced me until I noticed something wasn't right. I heard from Bently once that the stuff is written inside changed because they time-traveled back to save Sly's ancestors, they even listed out which ones were changed. But one of the entrees that said this, "My group found a raccoon in the desert, he wasn't wearing traditional Egyptian garb as other Egyptians do. But when we brought this man to our home town, our fate has changed for an eternity." That one entree was enough to tell me everything.

"Sly is in ancient Egypt for a few days." I blurted out. Bently, who was pretty close, heard me. "What did you say?" Bently replied expectedly. I pointed out one part of the ancient book. As expected, Bently noticed immediately. He asked himself "The pedestal was supposed to detect any changes in the Thievius Raccoonus, why didn't it bring it up?" "It was probably there, to begin with." I suggested, "But that's beside the point, we should get the others." "Wait, you're coming too?" "Is there a problem?" Bently was reluctant at first, but he eventually agreed to it and we set off to prepare for our mission.
