A long time ago, there was once a planet known as 'Krypton', this world was inhabited by superpowered, humanoid beings who have made scientific and technological discoveries far beyond our reach. However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows, for their world was one where everyone was genetically bread to serve specific roles in society.

One day, a famous Kryptonian scientist named 'Jor-El' found himself attracted to a female colleague of his named 'Lor-Van', and wanted to start a new life with her. She told him that'd be wrong because they'd be in trouble, but he believed that choice is important for social and societal improvement, and their naturally born child would bring a bright future to Krypton.

In time, Lor-Van became pregnant, and they named their child 'Kal-El'. But his birth was detected by technology used by higher authorities, then Jor-El and Lor-Van soon got a visit from a military general named 'Zod'. Jor-El and Lor-Van would always hide Kal-El from Zod for a long time, pretending they knew nothing.

Eventually, the government detected that due to unknown reasons, Krypton's core has become unstable, and could blow up at any point. Zod goes to Jor-El's place to order him to build ships for everyone to escape in, but as he rushes into his house, he catches Jor-El and Lor-Van with Kal-El. Zod demands that Jor-El tells him why they have a child in their possession, and as Lor-Van runs and hides Kal-El, Jor-El tells Zod that he has indeed co-produced with Lor-Van, and this little Kryptonian baby of theirs will be the first in centuries to be free to choose his own path.

However, Zod gets angry because he was made to enforce the rules at any cost, so he summons soldiers to hunt and kill Kal-El, but his parents protect him every step of the way, and using their powers to do so. But it soon got too unsafe for Kal-El on Krypton, not to mention, they can't raise him on a dying planet anyway. So Jor-El built a pod, with an auto-pilot that detected the nearest inhabitable planet (which was Earth), and left a blue crystal in the pod, and when Lor-Van asked what it is, he said, "It's something special, that will be used in due time."

They launched the pod, and sent their son there in the pod, hoping he would live a good life... right before Krypton exploded.

The pod landed in a yard behind a farmhouse in Kansas, and woke up a couple in the house. Afterwards, the husband, John Kent, got his shotgun, and went to investigate what just crashed in his backyard. When he learned how to open the pod, he was stunned to see a small baby in it. John put down his shotgun, and picked up the child, wondering where he came from, before picking his shotgun back up, and going back into the house with the baby.

Johnathan showed it to his wife, Martha, and they debated on if they should keep the child. In the end, the decided that if they told people, they wouldn't understand, and do some not-so-good things with this alien baby, so they raised him. They didn't know the child's name was Kal-El, so they called him Clark, and kept his pod hidden in the basement from him, and from the world.

Clark quickly became deluded into thinking he's a human, he went to school, learned about this world he called home, and was taught many life lessons by his parents. But it was his sophomore year of high school, when he learned that he was actually more than meets the eye.

Clark was walking around the school track with his girlfriend, Lois Lane, when she started smack-talking the school bully, who was unfortunately nearby, and heard her say that.

He stomped up to her, and called her many names, and the rest of the scene goes like this:

CLARK: (Gets in between them) Hey buddy! That's no way to talk to a lady!

BULLY: Lady!? This smack-talking twerp is not a lady! She's a loser, just like her boyfriend!

CLARK: Take that back!

BULLY: What?!

CLARK: I said, take, it... (pushes the bully) back!

But since Clark is Kryptonian, he pushes him so hard, the bully shoots straight to the other side of the track. Luckily, they're the only ones there, so they all keep it to themselves, knowing that people will think they're crazy.

That night at dinner, Martha tells John in front of Clark that the school called, saying that he got into a fight, and injured another student. John and Martha ask Clark how it happened, and Clark refuses saying they wouldn't believe him, but John replies with, "Try us."

When Clark tells them what happened, they paused before Martha starts holding John's hand and says, "Honey, he need to know the truth."

So John leads his confused adopted son to the basement, showed him the pod that he arrived in, and explained how they found him.

JOHN: We never found out where you came from, or why you came here.

CLARK: Wait! (Looks from the pod back at John) Can I still be your son?!

JOHN: Oh Clark! (Hugs Clark tight) You always were my son!

CLARK: (Hugs John back) I love you, dad!

JOHN: I love you too, Clark!

Fast forward to Clark's senior year, he's discovering more of his powers, (I.E: using flight to stop baby cattle from wandering off, or using his laser eyes to help John light a grill for a barbeque) and of course, his attitude has gotten a little more rowdy, getting into arguments with his father constantly, mainly about him wanting to use his powers to improve the world, but John tells him not to, because the world would jump to conclusions about him.

This all leads to a scene where they, as a family, are in a truck on a freeway, and Clark in in the back seat, arguing with John again, before he says, "You're not my father!" Which he eventually comes to regret.

After this, a tornado appears in the distance, and the crowd of people immediately starts running, with people like John and Clark helping people get out of things like jammed doors. As the tornado gets closer, cars start to fly, trapping John under debris. Clark sees his foster father in trouble, and uses his super strength to get him out, which gets his dad sucked into a tornado. Clark then takes a car roof flying past him, and uses it as a disguise when he flies up and away to save John, but when he grabs John's good leg, he screams as Clark's strength accidently breaks it. When he lets go after this, John immediately gets sucked into the tornado, with Clark being too late to save him. Clark lands on the ground to look like a normal person, before joining the crowd, and sadly telling Martha that John didn't make it. This sad event teaches Clark an important lesson that he carries with him for the rest of the film: No matter how much you dislike somebody, every life is sacred in one way, or another.

Years later, Clark moved into his own apartment in a nearby big city called 'Metropolis', and pays the bills by working as a journalist for a newspaper called 'The Daily Planet', where he works alongside Lois, who he is still dating.

One Saturday morning, Clark visits Martha, and goes to the basement for the first time in forever, and searches the pod for anything that can tell him about his species, or where he came from. Eventually, he learns how to open it, then he finds the blue crystal from before, he then squeezes it, and hears Jor-El's voice in his head, telling him to find the most isolated place he can think of, and strike the ground with this crystal. Confused, Clark decides to do what this strange voice says, and the first place that comes to his mind is the artic, so he flies there, surprised he can take such cold.

As soon as he strikes the ground with the blue crystal, it shines so bright, that Clark has to close his eyes, but when he opens them, he's in a corridor made from ice.

He stands up, and hears a deep voice from behind him saying, "Hello, Kal-El."

Startled, Clark turns around to see a holographic Jor-El, and their conversation goes like this:

CLARK: W-W-Who are you?!

JOR-EL: I am a holographic A.I of Jor-El, your real father.

CLARK: My real father? Who am I? Who are my people? Why am I on Earth?

JOR-EL: You come from a planet named Krypton, and your people look like humans, but have all the powers you do. Your real mother and I created you biologically because everyone else were not bred naturally, and weren't able to choose. So son, you have something none of our kind had... a choice.

CLARK: Woah! But why am I here, on Earth?

JOR-EL: As Krypton's core began dying, you became discovered by General Zod.

CLARK: Who?

JOR-EL: General Zod was the person in charge of maintaining, so-called, "order" on our planet. We couldn't raise you on a dying planet swarming with soldiers trying to kill you.

CLARK: So, the person you're programed to be built that pod for me, so that I may live?

JOR-EL: Correct. But unfortunately, you're still in danger.

CLARK: I am?! How?

JOR-EL: (raises a hand, palm up, and a holographic Krypton appears over it, showing Zod's warship escaping as the planet explodes) He always had that warship, but rarely used it until then.

CLARK: I'm assuming he's still after me, but why? Krypton is gone!

JOR-EL: He doesn't have a choice, son. Even after her destruction, keeping the laws of Krypton is the sole reason he was born.

CLARK: Well, what do I do?

JOR-EL: You've discovered your power long before now, why mustn't you use them to defend you and your new home?

CLARK: Well, I was always told that the people here would jump to conclusions about me, and... overall, wouldn't be ready.

JOR-EL: You don't need to care, all you need to do is what's right.

Holographic Jor-El then faces the ground next to him, and as Clark follows his vision, a hole appears in it. Then the Superman suit hovers out of it, and Clark takes a good look at it.

JOR-EL: This belonged to the real Jor-El once, the crest is symbolic of hope. Kal-El, take your birth right, and give the people of Earth something they can believe in.

After this encounter, Clark exits the fortress' interior, walks up a set of stairs onto a platform, and soars away, wearing the suit.

Later, Clark returns to Metropolis, and finds a bank robbery, which he stops by picking up the two bank robbers, taking them to the police station and using a stop sign to tie them up. Lois is walking past the station, and sees all of this happening in front of her.

When he returns to the ranch, he tells Martha everything that just happened, and she tells how proud she is to hear that Clark now has a relationship with is real father.

The next day, a newspaper is published, and in it is an article written by Lois about a flying superhuman in red and blue spandex, who stopped a bank robbery. Lois says in her article that because of the symbol on his chest that looks like an 'S', she called him 'Superman'. Clark reads this article at work, goes around Metropolis seeing all the people expressing how much they like Superman, and he decides that taking Jor-El's advice was a good idea.

Fast forward 1 year, and Superman continues to be the local Superhero of Metropolis, doing things like preventing assaults, halting drug deals, and even stopping a tsunami before it could even get close to Metropolis. When he's not doing all that, Superman goes back to his life as Clark Kent, trying to sniff out the latest story. Meanwhile, Lois continues to write about him, and constantly tells Clark how much she wishes she could personally interview him one day.

Superman had completely forgotten about Zod, until one day, when his ship is seen hovering 1900 feet over Metropolis, and Zod drops down through a hole in the bottom, before hovering 800 feet, and clicks a button that sends a shockwave, appearing on screens, and radios, all over the world. He gives this following speech:

People of Earth, I am general Zod, of the long since destroyed planet of Krypton. I am aware of a widely known hero, Superman. However, he himself is a criminal on our home-world, and if you bring him to me, I promise to spare your primitive, worthless planet!

Even Clark sees this happening as he is working at the Daily Planet, and runs into the janitors closet to change, but he is seen by Lois and their boss, Perry White. They go in to check on him, and catch him taking off his shirt, exposing his costume. Clark takes them outside, and tell everyone who notices that they all just need fresh air, before they go into a nearby alleyway. Clark begins to explain the story by far, and the screen dissolves to when he finishes. The following conversation goes like this:

PERRY: So, what will you do now?

CLARK: I need to turn myself into the military.

LOIS: What?! What if they turn you into that, Z-Zod guy?! What will you do?!

CLARK: I'm sure they won't.

PERRY: How the heck do you know?!

CLARK: I don't! (pauses) I don't even need to care, all I need to do is what's right, and that's it.

LOIS: (pauses to think) Okay Clark, go do what you need to do.

Clark then changes to Superman, and goes to the nearest military station to turn himself in. They take him to a small room, where a sergeant talk to him. The scene goes like this:

BROWN: Superman, I'm Sgt. Brown, and I'm here to deliver a message to you.

SUPERMAN: If you're going to surrender me to Zod, I-

BROWN: We're not. You've helped us too much for us to do such thing.

SUPERMAN: Okay, but what's the plan?

BROWN: We need you to help us defend against him.

SUPERMAN: W-W-Well... *sigh* Just promise me 2 things.

BROWN: I'm listening.

SUPERMAN: First, promise me that you'll do your best to make sure nobody gets hurt.

BROWN: We'll do our best, but let me tell ya *puts a hand on Superman's shoulder* the people here have seen what you have done for humanity, and don't care what Zod claims you were on his planet. We have already vowed to put ourselves in the line of fire for you, all to protect our planet, and the super-person protecting it right now. *Takes his hand back*

SUPERMAN: Understood, but also promise me that we'll ban, or imprison Zod, but not kill him.

BROWN: W-Well, the government has decided that his death is the best solution, and...

SUPERMAN: No! We don't need to resort to his death, we can deal with him more humanely.

BROWN: Well Superman, I believe you.

SUPERMAN: Then will you, or will you not, promise to not kill him?!

BROWN: (Pauses to think) I promise.

Later, Superman is standing in the middle of the Little Jerusalem Badlands, with the military behind him, as he looks up to the sky, waiting for Zod.

Eventually, Brown walks up to him, and asks, "Are you sure they're gonna detect you if you're out here in the open?"

SUPERMAN: I've heard that they had technology that can detect Kryptonians like me, you're here so it'll look like you're surrendering me to them, but when I shoot my laser eyes upward, you will fire when ready.

But then, Zod's warship uncloaked in the sky, and a light shined on Superman, zapping him into a dark, small room.

"Where am I?" Superman asks

Then, a voice says, "Hello, child."

Superman turns around to see Zod standing behind him, emerging from the shadows.

SUPERMAN: You must be Zod.

ZOD: Yes, and you must be Kal-El... Oh wait! I'm sorry, do you prefer 'Superman'? That is what they call you, isn't it?

SUPERMAN: What is it to you? You came here to kill me, didn't you?

ZOD: *giggles* Ah, poor boy. That's what you might rightfully think, but I am actually programmed to find a new person to lead us.

SUPERMAN: Uh, pardon?

ZOD: We have no leader, Kal. But I think that you might make good material, you just need to do one thing: *pauses* take Earth as the new Krypton.

SUPERMAN: I have a feeling that would include enslaving the humans.

ZOD: Wrong, exterminating them.

SUPERMAN: What? Why would you want to destroy mankind to rebuild Krypton on Earth?

ZOD: They're the dominant race of their planet, so we can't both rule! Also, we are genetically superior to them, why would we rule alongside such pathetic, primitive beings. Trust me Kal, with our power, and your leadership, we'll bring Krypton back to life in no time!

SUPERMAN: And if I decline?

ZOD: Then not only am I programmed to take the role as leader, but you'll have also sided with the humans, and will be terminated with them. So, what do you say, Kal? Will you lead us in the new Krypton? Or will you side with the humans?

SUPERMAN: *pauses to think* Zod, if you're going to consider me an enemy if I side with humanity, that's fine by me!

ZOD: *takes a big breath* If Jor-El had any wisdom, he'd be very disappointed. *Snaps his fingers*

Once Zod snaped his fingers, Superman is Zapped back to where he was before, and Stone asked as to where he went, and Superman says, "Stone! They're going to attack! We much get ready! Remember my mark."

Superman turns back to Zod's ship, and sees dozens of Kryptonian soldiers flying down to invade Earth. Superman then shoots his laser eyes into the air, and the soldiers began shooting at the incoming Kryptonians. A big battle roars, with Superman in the middle, saving the human soldiers from being killed Kryptonian ones. Eventually Zod flies into battle, tackling Superman, and they punch and kick each other for a while, before clashing and Zod saying, "I'm giving you one last chance, Kal!" And Superman responds with, "It's Superman, now!"

Eventually into the fight, Zod uses a computer on his wrist to summon a few soldiers to hold Superman down, but once he fought back against them, he then notices that maybe, the wrist computer must be Zod's way of controlling the others. Superman, equipped with this new information, uses his laser eyes on the computer, and all the other Kryptonian soldiers pass out.

Zod watches, as the millions of Kryptonian soldiers fall around him, and is shocked at the fact that he lost. He then looks back at Superman, and his shock turns into rage.

ZOD: You! Do you know that you just killed the glory of Krypton's chance of survival?! You killed my purpose!

SUPERMAN: You tried to kill billions of innocent people!

ZOD: Because enforcing Krypton's law is my job, my will, my destiny! I have nothing without it!

SUPERMAN: Well if you wanna kill me, come and try it!

Zod then charges at Superman, before a soldier uses an RPG to throw him off balance. After giving said soldier a wave.

Superman pins Zod to the ground, and all the soldier gather around him, cheering and saying, "Go Superman! Now, finish him! Save the Earth!" But Superman refuses to do so, saying that he has a better place for him.

The soldiers don't understand, but Brown orders that they allow Superman to do what he wants with Zod. "Let's go, Zod." He says as he flies away with Zod held by the neck, and as they fade from view, this happens:

As Brown watches Superman fly away with Zod, a figure in a business suit, but head is out of frame, walks into the camera view, and with a deep voice, says, "He is quite the hero." And Sargent Brown replies with, "He sure is, Mr. Luthor."

After this, Superman takes Zod a small chamber in the fortress with a portal, shows him the portal, and says, "You see this, Zod? This portal leads to the Phantom Zone! A pocket dimension where you used to imprison anyone, who dare fight for their freedom... let's see how you'd like it in there, shall we?!"

Superman proceeds to throw Zod into the portal, as he repeatedly yells, "No!" and then walks away.

TEXT: The Next Day...

Lois comes to work, and finds that Clark isn't there. She asked Perry where he went, and he says, "I'm glad you asked, he came here earlier, but wanted me to give you this..." He then hands Lois a note that says, "So, you wanted to do an interview with Superman? Meet me on the roof of the Daily Planet at noon, and we can get it underway." And she smiles widely.

Later, Lois is on the roof, and Superman slowly lands in front of her, and he walks up to her and says, "Hi, how are you today?"

LOIS: I'm doing good,

SUPERMAN: Ya know, I'm actually excited for this.

LOIS: Oh, trust me, you cannot be as excited as me!

SUPERMAN: *Chuckles* I'll take your word for it.

LOIS: *takes her notepad out* So, I've asked people online for questions, and here's the most asked: Why do you have an S on your chest.

SUPERMAN: Well, it's not an S actually.

LOIS: Really? Well, it looks like an S.

SUPERMAN: I know, but on my planet, it symbolizes hope.

LOIS: No surprise there, you gave us hope... for the future.

Music plays as they both smile at each other, and Lois asks, "So, what are your powers as a whole." Hero by Skillet plays, as the camera pans backward into the sky as Superman names them. As the clouds go below the camera, we see the Superman logo, and the title over it, before getting to the credits.

Now for the post-credit scene:

The scene opens on Saturday, at 9:30 AM, with Clark back on the farm with Martha, and they're both eating breakfast, when the phone rings.

Clark picks up the phone, and says, "Hello?"

?: Is this Clark Kent?

CLARK: Yeah, who wants to know?

?: My name is Bruce Wayne.
