It hadn't even been a few hours with her new job, but it was safe to say that Camille Brightmore was enjoying her newfound nanny position with the Babcock household. She had heard stories about how her husband would often have his own good times as a butler in the household, so she figured that becoming a nanny and being with her husband every day was the best way to go. Plus, she really found it heartwarming that her son and her boss' daughter were getting along. Camille had observed them outside by the treehouse that they had in the backyard, and she found it pleasing to know that Niles was enamored with his newfound friend. She then figured as a way of having the three of them bond together (since she was essentially going to be a mother figure to young CC), she thought it would be a great idea to bake cookies altogether. She called the two children inside and waited alongside the doorframe to the patio area for the two to come back in the house. CC was quick to rush back in the house, but she noticed her son was following behind, seeming a bit glum. Camille grew concerned for her little boy and planned to talk to him once he was in the house. She was hoping that CC didn't cause Niles any sort of trouble ever since they first met.

Once the two children got back in the house, Camille closed the door of the patio and led the children into the kitchen. "Come, children. Since I figured that we are all going to become a family under this household and the master, we should do a nice little bonding activity. I think the best thing to do now is to bake some cookies together!" she proposed the idea excitedly.

"Yay! Cookies!" CC chimed as they all reached the kitchen counter. The two children watched as Camille took a bag that was sitting atop the kitchen table and opened it up to reveal three different aprons.

"I made sure that for my first day as a nanny that I customized some aprons for myself and my children," Camille said as she pulled out her own apron. It was light blue and had her name written on it as 'Nanny Camille.' Both Niles and CC were marveled in awe over the aprons that Camille had purchased. "Now I hope both of you are grateful. It was not easy to purchase these. After all, our family isn't in good standing with money. My boy knows that." The older woman then proceeded to pull out two small aprons that seemed to fit the two children. "This one is for mon fils, Niles.." she said as she passed the apron to Niles. "And this one is for ma fille, CC.." she added passing CC her own apron.

CC's eyes widened as she saw the customized apron that Camille had bought for her. She unraveled it and was so excited to see that her name was imprinted on the piece of clothing. Her own mother had never made anything special for her before, so for the nanny to care about her this much despite not knowing her well meant everything in the world to the younger girl. "Nanny Camille.. I love it!" the girl chimed as she quickly clung onto her new nanny hugging her waist tightly. "I love you so much!"

The older woman chuckled seeing just how grateful her boss' daughter was. She bent over and wrapped her arms around the little girl, kissing the top of her head. "Oh cherie, I'm so glad you love it.. and I do love you too! I'll make sure to spoil you whenever possible," Camille beamed as she poked the little girl's nose, which made her giggle.

As he was putting his apron on, Niles noticed how CC was acting towards his mother and how his mother reciprocated. He grimaced at how they were already getting along. This was one of the things Niles was afraid of when his mother was hired to work for the Babcock's. He was afraid that little CC would steal his mother away from him and that Camille would eventually forget about her own flesh and blood. He frowned and crossed his arms glaring at CC. "Hey! She's my mummy, not yours," he intervened.

The older woman heard her son protest at the sudden display of affection he was witnessing. Camille couldn't help but chuckle hearing her son's jealousy. She knew better than that. "Oh, dear Niles.." Camille smiled and outstretched her arm so she could engulf her son in her embrace, while holding CC in the other arm. "I'm always going to be your mummy. That's never going to change. I love you forever, my sweet boy," she added as she placed a kiss on the top of his head. This gesture made Niles smile and feel a little bit better. "And you too, darling.." Camille turned to CC and kissed her head too. "I can be the mummy to the both of you!"

CC thought about her new nanny's words and then had a sudden realization. She then pointed out, "Yeah, Niles. She's our mummy now! We're married so we get to have the same mummy, remember hubby?"

Hearing that comment immediately changed Camille's demeanor to confusion. What on earth was this girl talking about? "Uh... pardon? Hubby?" Camille asked CC what she meant by her being 'married' to her son.

"You're right! We do have the same mummy now, my lovely wife," Niles agreed as he reached out to hold the girl's hand. They both stood there gleefully together before Camille knelt down to their level. She still didn't seem to understand the concept of them pretending to be married.

After a moment to collect her thoughts, Camille finally realized that they weren't being serious and she laughed at their little affectionate gestures they were sharing. "You two only just met. What made you decide to marry Miss CC, mon fils?" Camille asked her son.

Niles proudly wrapped his arms around CC and said, "Mummy, she's beautiful." CC couldn't help but giggle when she was unexpectedly in the little boy's embrace. She didn't think he was being serious since they were only just pretending, but something about Niles' genuine excitement in his voice made her blush slightly.

"Well isn't that sweet of you.. you are going to make a wonderful husband someday, my boy," Camille chuckled looking at the pair of children. She then began to put on her apron and then added, "Alright children, who's ready to bake some cookies?" Both of the kids started to cheer excitedly as they followed suit behind the woman. Once they got to the counter, Niles assisted CC to help her put on her own apron before he put his own on. He was definitely chivalrous as his parents did teach him to be a gentleman to others no matter what.

As the time went by, the three of them had a blast making cookies together. CC especially couldn't remember the last time she was ever having this much fun with a nanny. Her previous nannies had never treated her with this kind of attention and respect, and she was starting to like her new nanny. Her own mother hadn't had a care in the world for her own daughter, so to have a motherly figure around meant the entire world to the little Babcock girl. She also didn't expect the nanny to have a son around her age to be around her. Even though she had only known Niles for a few hours, she was pleased with the way he paid attention to her and how he was treating her like the princess that she was.

However, even though their newfound bond was off to a good start, it seemed as if bantering had surfaced to the atmosphere. As the two were mixing the cookie batter, Niles had roughly stirred the large wooden spoon a bit too harshly, causing some of the batter to fly into CC's hair and face. This instantly made CC a bit upset at the ordeal.

"Hey! What did you do that for?" she shouted at the boy as she pouted and put her hands on her hips.

"What did I do?" Niles asked sheepishly, unaware of the slight mistake he had made. He looked over at the girl oblivious to the fact that she had cookie batter on her face that was not wiped off yet.

"You threw batter on my hair!" CC shouted at the boy as she picked the batter off of her golden locks. She then threw it right back in Niles' face, unaware that it was an accident. When things had happened to CC, she was always one to choose revenge over solving problems. It was something Stuart had longed for when he was searching for the perfect nanny for his daughter.

Niles didn't expect for the batter to get thrown right back in his face. He truly didn't mean to get anything on her and suddenly felt bad. "I did?" he asked before he got hit in the face with the batter. He pursed his lips together and frowned not meaning to make her upset. "I'm sorry, my lovely wife. Let me clean this up for you.." Niles said as he grabbed the nearest towel that was sitting atop the counter. He began to slowly dab at the girl's face wanting to get the rest of the batter off.

CC didn't expect him to be so kind to her after what happened. Her eyes widened in disbelief when he began to show kindness towards her. Usually she would cause a ruckus with visitors or people who worked for her and in return, they would easily leave. However, he was different towards her. It seemed as if Niles was taking up a responsibility that wasn't necessarily needed for a long term, but definitely for the moment that they were sharing. She watched as he cleaned her face off and then felt herself blush when he had finished his duties.

"There you go. All better," Niles said with a soft smile. He began to reach over for the chocolate chips so he could help his mother add them to the batter, but CC grabbed his face with both of her hands and kissed his cheek softly. Niles froze in that moment not expecting that from the girl. He had never been kissed by anyone other than his parents, so this feeling was quite foreign to him. He looked over at CC with a smirk and felt his face turn red from embarrassment. "Thank you.." he said quietly.

"Thank you for cleaning me up," CC responded softly as she then began to help him put the rest of the chocolate chips in the batter. Camille was watching from the sidelines of everything that had just happened. She knew she had taught her son well when Niles began to help CC when she got upset. She knew since he was born that Niles would grow up to be a proper gentleman and take care of the ones he cared for. It seemed as if he already had a heart for the young heiress that she was also tending to, and that was one of the best things that Camille could've ever asked for.

As they had finished mixing in the chocolate chips, Camille had taught them how to roll the batter into small balls to form the cookies on the trays they were using. The children seemed to enjoy that, but Camille had something else on her mind. "I cannot tell you how proud I am of the both of you right now," she started off. "Niles, what you did with Miss CC was very sweet of you. I always knew you were the young gentleman that I had raised for you to become." Camille pinched her son's cheek softly causing him to blush. She then looked over at little CC and said, "And you my dear.. I've heard from your father that you weren't quite fond of your other nannies.. but you are very precious to me. You were very nice to Niles when he helped you and you didn't push him away. I'm very proud of you."

Hearing that from Camille made CC's heart soar. She did not expect such a huge blow of kindness from her new nanny. She hated having nannies around, but this one was different. She had qualities that CC loved that not even her own mother had possessed. The one thing that CC had loved from that moment was Camille telling her she was proud of her. Not even her own father had said that to her before. "Thank you, Camille," the young girl responded softly. Both of the children earned kisses from Camille as they all finished putting the cookies in the oven.

Eventually, the three of them had eaten a few cookies and had gotten ready to get to bed for the night. It was safe to say that Camille Brightmore had a very successful first day at the Babcock residence being the nanny for young CC. What was even more endearing was seeing her son and CC get along so well. She figured at first that the young girl would be hesitant in getting along with Niles, but after their adventures today, she saw that the two had so much potential for a long lasting friendship throughout their entire lives. Once everyone was done with their sugar rushes, she instructed the children to prepare for bed and meet in CC's room for story time. Since there was a thunderstorm outside, Camille thought it was the perfect distraction for the children to be accompanied with a story rather than listening to thunder and lightning.

"And the big bad wolf gave up and ran off on the three little pigs. This made the three little pigs dance and jump for joy! They were all finally safe, and had a nice and safe home to live in. The End," Camille read through the story as the two children sat on either side of her on the bed. They both cuddled up to her as they listened to her soothing voice narrate the entire story. Niles and CC felt easily content, and the both of them forgot that there was a storm going on outside...

...until a loud crash of thunder and lightning happened.

CC let out a loud high-pitched scream which caused her to grip onto Camille tightly and bury her face in the older woman's pajamas. It seemed as if the Brightmore family didn't have any trouble with storms outside, but CC felt the complete opposite. She had always been afraid of thunderstorms ever since she was a little girl, and to have a thunderstorm outside was frightening for her. She couldn't help but remember the nasty fight between her father and mother that happened on the same night that there was a thunderstorm outside, and it had scarred her for life ever since. CC whimpered and continued to grip onto Camille tightly.

"What's the matter?" Niles asked the young girl with concern, oblivious to the fact that CC was terrified of thunderstorms. He didn't mind storms. In fact, he had lived through them when his family was out on the streets homeless. He had grown up getting accustomed to what they sounded and looked like. Plus, they had always been comforting for him to sleep to.

"I don't like storms.." CC cried into Camille's pajamas. Seeing CC so scared of thunderstorms made Camille's heart break for the poor girl. She lifted CC into her lap and rocked her gently so she could calm down. It took a while for CC to calm herself down knowing she felt protected in her nanny's arms. She had never felt this level of comfort before from anyone, not even her own mother, who had refused to hold her after she was born. Feeling the sense of comfort coming from Camille made CC calm down almost instantly. Niles was on the other side of his mother rubbing the little girl's back as well as she calmed down.

"Shhh... it's okay, ma fille. I'm here.. it's going to be okay," Camille whispered to CC before she gave her a kiss on her cheek. CC sniffled and started to relax in the older woman's arms before she felt herself lulling herself to sleep. Niles made sure that his little friend was okay before he looked over at his mother.

"I think she's fallen asleep, Mummy," Niles said with concern in his voice.

Camille chuckled and smoothed out her son's hair before she stood up from the bed. "She's definitely well on her way to, my dear," she said to Niles as she pulled back the covers of CC's bed and laid her down comfortably. She kissed CC's forehead before she looked over at her son once again. "Come, son. We must retreat to bed as well." She waited patiently and held out her hand for Niles to take. Once Niles was ready to leave, he grabbed onto his mother's hand and the two started towards the door to the hallway. Before the two could even make it out of the room, they heard CC's soft, yet calm voice call out.

"Where are you going, Camille?" CC asked as she was now sitting up on her bed, clutching onto her teddy bear, Theodore.

"Oh sweet, CC.. I'm sorry, but Niles and I have to sleep in the servant's wing. The master says that we are not allowed to be in the same sector," Camille said. Hearing that made CC frown. The only people that she felt close to couldn't even cuddle with her overnight. She was really hoping they would stay, but she knew that her father would kick them out if that were the case, including Harold. The entire Brightmore family happened to be the sweetest, most endearing people that CC had ever met, including young Niles. He seemed like such a proper gentleman, and CC was hoping for a friend that would stick up for her and take care of her like he did in the kitchen.

CC clutched her bear tighter, knowing she was going to be alone throughout the storm. "But... but I want you to stay... and cuddle with me," she plead softly, which easily made Camille's heart break.

Reassuringly, Camille walked towards CC and smoothed out the girl's hair. "You have nothing to worry about, darling. The servant's wing is not far from your room, so if you ever need to find me, come out and I will be there for you. Alright?" CC looked up and nodded her head listening to her nanny. She knew that Camille wouldn't let her suffer alone on purpose, but she had a firm reason to leave her alone in the room. It was heartbreaking, and she wished she could comfort CC the entire night. However, she didn't want to lose her position in the household and respected Stuart's rules. With one last kiss to her forehead, Camille took Niles' hand and they both exited the room, leaving CC alone to sleep by herself throughout the night.

The hours had passed by throughout the night, and it seemed as if the storm had gotten worse. The thunder and lightning had gotten louder and brighter, enough to where CC was unable to sleep. The only thing the poor girl could do was hide under her covers tightly and try her best to ignore the sounds that were coming from outside. She tried to sing herself a lullaby to calm herself down, but the thunder was much louder than her singing. Having had enough of the storm, CC started to cry and quickly grabbed her teddy bear, jumping out of her bed in fear. She quickly opened the door of her room and ran down the hallway trying to find the servant's wing.

CC's cries could be heard throughout the hallway as she ran faster trying to get away from the storm that was happening outside. However, she found herself caught in the middle of the large window in the hallway and witnessed a large bolt of lightning strike down on a tree, which made her cries and screams get louder. She continued to run down the hallway and screamed, "Help me! Please help me! I'm scared!"

All of a sudden, CC felt a small hand grab her free hand, pulling her into a room. She squealed at the touch but couldn't react right away due to the other being pulling her into the bedroom so quickly. She then felt herself being held tightly by the figure who found her. Warm and caring arms had wrapped around the little girl as she found that whoever was there was trying to comfort her and help her calm down.

"It's alright, CC... don't worry.."

Hearing the voice of little Niles made CC calm down a little bit. Her cries had gotten softer to the point where they were only soft whimpers instead. She then found herself hugging Niles back just as tightly as he was hugging her. They continued to hug up until Niles felt that CC had stopped crying. Her soft whimpers eventually turned into her holding back tears and sniffles. She knew that she finally was safe.

"Come on, you can cuddle with me," Niles suggested as he grabbed the girl's hand and led her to his bed. Niles' room was much smaller and more compact than CC's large room. Since he was living in the servant's wing with his parents, they didn't have the most exquisite set up for their living area. In fact, his bedroom was easily compared to a domestic's bedroom. He had a small twin bed with thin sheets and one big wool blanket to keep himself warm. CC thought about how he could possibly be comfortable with so little resources and started to sympathize with him.

"You don't have a lot of blankets like me," CC pointed out as she got in the bed on the other side of him. She tried her best to pull up the thin sheets to her shoulders to make sure she was comfortable.

"It's alright. I'm used to it.." Niles quietly said shrugging his shoulders as he got in the other side of the bed. He then turned over to her and added, "Mummy and I slept like this all the time. We cuddled to keep ourselves warm and it always worked."

CC frowned hearing that. She couldn't imagine herself having to sleep with only one or two blankets and in such a small bedroom with a bed with not enough room in it. It broke her heart, and she felt the need to learn more about the way domestics outside of her mansion lived. She was tempted to ask Niles more questions, but she was getting quite sleepy. All the hours of not sleeping made her want to turn in for the night since she didn't feel that she needed to be scared anymore. "Can you cuddle me? So I don't have to be scared of the storms anymore?" she asked Niles politely.

"Of course I can," he replied with a cheerful smile. He wrapped his arms around her the best that he could and pulled her close. "Goodnight, CC.. I'm so happy that you're my new best friend," Niles mumbled as he felt his eyes close shut. CC smiled softly and looked around at the night light shining in his room. The light had shone dancing stars that were hovering over the two of them. For once, she felt at peace seeing the light above them and the warm arms wrapped around her.

She looked over at Niles and kissed the top of his forehead and whispered, "Goodnight, Niles... my new best friend." With that, she let out one big yawn and immediately fell asleep in his arms. The dancing stars were illuminating above them and the storm was quickly forgotten. About a couple of minutes later, Camille, donning in her long silky robe, opened the door to her son's room finding the two children cuddling together peacefully. She smiled at the sight and knew at that point that a beautiful friendship had formed between her son and the young heiress. From that point on, Niles and CC's friendship had blossomed entirely, and they both couldn't wait to see what life had in store for the both of them.
