AN: This chapter will end the series. Thank all of you who left constructive comments for me and those who didn't well, what can I say. Because of the trolls out there I will not be writing for quite awhile now. I need a break from them. Now after my little rant, on with the short chapter.

Chapter 9

A few months had gone by now and Rebecca was now seven months pregnant and not feeling well at all. It really wasn't any thing to do with the pregnancy, but more her health in general. Spring was nearing and she felt like she should be feeling like doing things outside around the house. Instead she was feeling like the world was weighing in on her chest.

"Paul, what's wrong with her?"

"Adam, she has influenza I'm afraid. That and being pregnant isn't good. She needs to stay in bed and rest until that baby comes."

"And after the baby comes?"

"Well, I'm hoping we can get the influenza under control before then Adam. You know how bad this can be."

"Yes, I do. And you also know that Rebecca comes first Paul."

"Yes, Adam. I do know."

So for the next two months Rebecca remained in bed and had help from the whole family with the house hold chores and of course the children were of help also. However, Rebecca wasn't getting any better and Adam became more worried as time went by. When it was time for Rebecca to deliver the baby it was very hard on her to breath and try to deliver at the same time. Paul had to give her oxygen quite a few times during the procedure. Finally after six hours of labour she gave birth to a healthy baby boy, seven pounds two ounces, they named him Paul Ross. Rebecca was very weak and wasn't doing well. Elizabeth had come home for the summer and was taking care of the baby. Rebecca was nursing but only a couple times a day. Paul had to find a wet nurse to come into the home through the day. Paul told Adam to get a goat and start giving Paul Ross that milk.

"Paul, is Rebecca getting worse? Why can't you give her something to get her through this?"

"Adam, I am doing every thing I can. I have had several others come down with this in the past few months. Two of these were deaths. I can't do much else Adam. I'm sorry." Adam was devastated by this news. He couldn't loose his Rebecca. He just couldn't.

However, that was one thing that Adam couldn't control. His Rebecca went in the middle of the night one month later.

He knew he had to be strong for his children. He wouldn't show his emotions around them. But in his room at night while tending to Paul Ross, he cried his eyes out. The children would join him in their rooms. They lost their Mama, They were always told however, that whatever they do,
