INT. DEWEY'S CAR – NIGHT

Dewey is screaming bloody murder at his lower officers.

DEWEY: That is not good enough! Road blocks everywhere! How come no one can find Sidney Prescott!

Gale is thoughtful.

GALE: The killer wanted to lure her out … think, Dewey, where would he want Sidney for his grand finale?

DEWEY: I dunno, Disney Land?

GALE: Where it all began, Dewey! Whatever point he wants to make, I'll bet it's gonna be made there!

DEWEY: Shoot …

He spins the car around, sirens blaring.

CUT TO:

INT. MURDER HOUSE CELLAR – NIGHT

Tatum is in horror as Sidney now cuffs her second hand to the pipe.

SIDNEY: There we go …

TATUM: Sid … why …?

SIDNEY: Oh Tatum … you don't know why yet?

She starts pacing.

SIDNEY: (cont'd) Everyone I knew in my life is a liar. Tell me I'm wrong! Take you for instance – you fucked my boyfriend, got knocked up, lost the baby and didn't even have the decency to tell me.

TATUM: I wanted to!

SIDNEY: If you did, you would done it when you found out I was dating Billy! You and that bitch, Megan … who found out about Billy's little tryst because Sickie-Hickie stuck her big fat nose everywhere and accidentally caught Billy admitting it to Stu once when he was drinking … Megan who didn't have the cajones to tell me the truth either … but she was a good practice kill. At least till my partner could get here.

Tatum's eyes fall on Ghostface.

TATUM: And who the hell are you under there? Let me guess – Judy faked her death.

SIDNEY: (laughing) Ah, that's a good guess, Tatum. But wrong. Show her, baby.

Ghostface unmasks …

.

.

.

It's COTTON WEARY.

He grins as he tosses the mask aside and strips the robe off down to his jeans and black t-shirt.

TATUM: He … he died … the police found his body burned in that van!

SIDNEY: They found a body. Good thing I had an extra one lying around in my closet. First time my father was ever good for anything. He never saw it coming, either. Unlike my Mother.

TATUM: (realizing) You killed your mother …

SIDNEY: Cotton and I … together …

Tatum's eyes are filled with tears, struggling to put two and two together.

SIDNEY: Let's get the facts straight … Maureen wasn't the one having an affair with Cotton. That was just a cover. I was! She found out, went to his apartment to put a stop to it. I agreed to stop seeing Cotton – but then I found out the bitch was fucking Billy's father which is why his mother moved out and abandoned him. I mean … I couldn't let such hypocrisy fall. Cotton overpowered her, brought her here through those tunnels. Then we finished her off. But why stop there? I mean, she wasn't the only one who was keeping secrets from me. That's why Cotton allowed himself to go to prison for me …

COTTON: Anything for you, babe.

SIDNEY: Then I go on a murder spree on my own … make it look like the cops got it all wrong … Gale's Netflix show really went a long way to helping us … she bought every bit of Cotton's sad, tragic story of an affair gone wrong, a police con job. She gave him his own private cell phone which he used to call us from his own private cell. And of course, the cops aren't going to be checking for outbound calls from a prison! And of course, America lapped it up, split right down the middle over whether he was innocent or not, whether the police really framed him. One thing Americans love, it's a good conspiracy theory. Then I kill off a few bitch classmates who did me dirty, spring Cotton … and then finish off. Randy was right about one thing … there was a final girl … I saved you for last …

TATUM: You won't get away with this!

SIDNEY: No?

She turns to Cotton.

SIDNEY: You did make it look like self-defense, right?

COTTON: Made it look like a good, clean struggle.

SIDNEY: Good. When we're done, we'll plant the evidence, frame it up to cast doubt on us … just like when we planted evidence for my Mother's death to make it look like the cops had it out for you …

She turns to Tatum.

SIDNEY: Billy. As far as the world will know, Billy killed everyone. Why? It's simple? His movie-freaked mind snapped when he found out about his father and my mother. And as far as his accomplice … Mr. Lovedge was the only person I every admitted my attraction to older men to. He was very turned on. He and Billy together take the fall … Cotton goes underground … I continue with my life with no more toxic people left in it … and we continue our love affair in secret and in peace.

She leans forward and kisses Cotton passionately. Tatum is revolted.

TATUM: They won't believe you …

SIDNEY: They believed us the first time … and if they don't … well, Gale Weathers is gullible enough to make a sequel. Creating a Killer 2.

They hear a car door.

SIDNEY: I wasn't expecting anyone else …

EXT. MURDER HOUSE – NIGHT

Dewey and Gale storm out of the car, Dewey's gun drawn. They see Judy's body lying in a pool of blood and Gale screams. Dewey looks up and sees Casey's body hanging from a window.

DEWEY: Sidney! We're here!

CUT TO:

INT. CELLAR – NIGHT

SIDNEY: Dewey. He and Gale are smarter than I gave them credit for. (to Cotton) Go ahead and deal with them, won't you baby?

COTTON: Of course. I love you.

He pockets his hunting knife and vanishes up the steps. Sidney watches him go, before unsheathing her knife and holding it up to Tatum's chin.

SIDNEY: And as for you …

CUT TO:

INT. MURDER HOUSE – FIRST FLOOR – NIGHT

Dewey is holding his gun out, Gale right behind him.

DEWEY: Sidney! Billy?!

COTTON BURSTS OUT OF THE SHADOWS.

Dewey's gun goes off. Cotton grabs his arm, thrusting it up, the gun firing into the ceiling. Cotton bashes Dewey in the head and kicks the gun out of his hand. Dewey lies there, unconscious.

The killer advances on Gale.

Gale backs away, tipping things over.

Cotton slashes at her with his knife, ripping a gash down her arm. Gale cries out. She flips a table over, trying to put space between herself and him.

She finds herself backed into a corner in the foyer. Nowhere to go.

Cotton jumps at her, bringing the knife down full force. Gale grabs his wrist, holding it at bay. She grits her teeth. He's too strong.

GALE: I … trusted you …

The blade is inching closer to her chest. Closer. Closer.

BLAM! BLAM!

Cotton's eyes widen and his body stiffens. Two gaping gunshot holes are in his back. He turns, slowly, staggering away from Gale.

BILLY LOOMIS IS STANDING THERE IN A HERO POSE, DEWEY'S GUN IN HIS HAND.

Cotton snarls, charging at Billy, knife raised. Billy fires shot after shot, ending with a blow to the head, blasting Cotton off his feet. Billy tosses the now empty gun aside and limps over to Gale.

GALE: We gotta find the others!

CUT TO:

INT. CELLAR

Sidney looks up after hearing the gunshots. She rolls her eyes.

SIDNEY: Cotton … welp, guess the old adage goes without saying. If you want something done right, you do it yourself.

She slams her car keys onto a nearby table, along with her cell. She grabs a knife from the table and begins heading up the stairs.

SIDNEY: Don't go anywhere.

Tatum's eyes fall on the table … there's a key to the cuffs there … if she could just free one arm.

CUT TO:

UPSTAIRS

Sidney limps out of the basement, knife hidden in her jeans.

SIDNEY: Billy …

Billy, who is holding an unconscious Dewey's head up, jolts upward.

BILLY: Sid?

He rushes to her. He kisses her passionately on the lips.

SIDNEY: It was Tatum! She attacked me in the basement! I only just got away.

Gale stands up.

GALE: You okay?

Sidney nods.

Gale sighs.

GALE: Tatum and Cotton … There goes my entire career …

Gale stops.

GALE: What happened to Tatum?

SIDNEY: I trapped her … she and Cotton confronted me in the basement … after he killed Randy …

Gale looks at Billy.

GALE: How did you know he killed Randy?

Sidney sighs. Then she STABS Gale in the stomach. Gale falls forward, landing on top of Dewey. Sidney stares up at Billy.

SIDNEY: Oh baby … I guess you were going to have to find out sooner or later …

CUT TO:

INT. BASEMENT

Tatum is breathing, meditating, trying to prepare herself mentally for something. She grits her teeth and breaks left thumb. She screams through the pain … bone juts out and blood runs down onto the cuffs.

Breathing heavily, she slides her hand free of the cough.

Struggling to ignore the pain, she reaches out with bloody fingers for the key … just centimeters away …

CUT TO:

UPSTAIRS

Billy backs away, looking for a weapon. In his current state, with his wounds, he's no match for Sidney.

SIDNEY: Come on, Billy. Your girlfriend wants a cuddle. Weren't just complaining a few days ago that we weren't close enough?

BILLY: You're sick … Sid … you need your meds …

SIDNEY: Oh, the hell I do! Did you honestly I ever suffered from hallucinations? You really are stupider than I thought … and now you killed Cotton … so it's only fair I kill you and Tatum. You can be together in death.

Billy reaches out, grabs a fireplace poker. He thrusts it at Sidney, who laughs, grabbing it. She wrenches it out of his hands, reverses it, and stabs him through the shoulder.

Billy screams. He falls to his knees as he pulls the poker out. He stares up, eyes red and mouth bloody.

SIDNEY: Time to say goodnight – my love …

TATUM: Good night!

Sidney spins around – TATUM SLUGS A KNIFE INTO HER CHEST! Sidney sways, then collapses to the ground, her knife clattering away.

TATUM helps Billy to his feet, nursing his wounds. They survey the carnage around them. He stares into Tatum's eyes.

BILLY: You came back for me …

TATUM: Of course …

The two stare at each other. Years of pent up feelings get the better of them. Billy grabs Tatum and pulls her into a passionate kiss.

Behind them, Sidney's finger twitches.

Billy stares into Tatum's eyes.

BILLY: We haven't done that in a while.

TATUM: I think we'll have more time to catch up.

A knife flies through the air, narrowly missing them. It embeds in a wall.

BILLY: Crap!

Sidney is on her feet, the fireplace poker in her hand, her hair a mess, absolutely seething. She is blocking their path to the entryway.

Tatum grabs Billy's hand.

TATUM: This way!

She and Billy rush back, down the stairs, back into the cellar.

Sidney raises the poker, giving chase.

CUT TO:

INT. CELLAR

Billy and Tatum reach the basement. They look around in all directions.

BILLY: Which way!

TATUM: This way!

She leads him towards the tunnels, pushing the door wide open. The two limp inside, in near complete darkness.

Sidney reaches the base of the stairs. She utters a guttural grow and tosses aside the poker. She staggers over to one of the tool tables … a CHAINSAW is laid there among the other tools. She grabs it, starts it up.

CUT TO:

TUNNEL – NIGHT

Billy and Stu hear the buzzing of the chainsaw behind them. It sends terror down their spines.

BILLY: Move!

The two pick up the pace.

Behind, Sidney enters the tunnel, following after them.

SIDNEY: How cute … the two of you together again after all these years …

Tatum and Billy keep going. Sidney is gaining ground, the buzzing of the saw growing louder.

SIDNEY: What I want to know is – was it worth it? Huh Billy-boy? You fuck my best friend, impregnate her, then hide it from me?

The two reach the end of the tunnel … it doesn't go any further. They're out of luck!

Sidney keeps coming, occasionally tapping the saw against the walls, glowing herself with sparks.

SIDNEY: In the end, it doesn't really matter though. Everyone will stab everyone in the back sooner or later. That's why this world is going to shit. We are the worst creatures to walk this planet …

Tatum looks up – she sees a rope hanging from the ceiling. She grabs it – a ladder descends. Billy motions for her. Tatum sprawls up the ladder, Billy behind her.

INT. MOVIE THEATER STOCK ROOM – NIGHT

The movie theater is closed. The stock room is pitch black. Billy and Tatum limp through the dark rows of candy and tubs for popcorn.

Behind them, Sidney reaches the top, pulling herself up with one hand, grasping the chainsaw with another.

BILLY: This way!

INT. MOVIE THEATER – AUDITORIUM – NIGHT

Billy and Tatum run down an aisle in the movie theater. The auditorium is pitch black and the screen is blank.

They hear the sounds of the chainsaw. Billy forces Tatum into one of the rows of seats.

BILLY: Stay down!

Tatum nods, watching as Billy vanishes through a doorway labeled PRIVATE.

Sidney enters the auditorium. Tatum ducks down.

SIDNEY: Tatum … oh Tatum …

Tatum ducks down. Sidney is only a few aisles away.

One aisle away.

The auditorium BLARES to life. The projector begins playing a movie - a horror movie.

SIDNEY: What?

The surround sound blasts, louder than normal. Tatum covers her ears.

Sidney snarls.

SIDNEY: You think your games will stop me!

She raises her chainsaw, slashing downward, slicing a seat in half right next to Tatum in half! Tatum screams, scrabbles to her feet, jumping over a seat to the aisle ahead.

Sidney is already there, at the end of the aisle.

SIDNEY: Tatum … come on out of there and play …

She begins advancing on Tatum, who has nowhere to go.

Billy pops up behind her, a tub used for popcorn in his hand. He slams it down on Sidney's head. She shrieks, swinging her weapon, nearly taking Billy's head off.

Tatum charges forward, slamming into Sidney. The chainsaw goes flying, landing in the middle of the aisle, still rattling. Sidney throws the bucket off her head, grabs Tatum's hair – the two roll on the ground.

Sidney pushes Tatum off … Billy comes charging. Sidney grabs him by the neck and slams his head onto an armrest. Billy's eyes roll into his head and he loses consciousness.

Eyes rolling, Sidney limps towards Tatum. She charges, landing on top of her, hands around her neck, snarling.

Tatum's fingers reach out for the chainsaw, just out of reach.

Sidney is grinning evilly.

SIDNEY: You won't be in the sequel!

TATUM: Don't count on it yourself!

Her fingers grab the handle of the saw and she thrusts it forward. There is a sick sound of buzzing … Sidney's head flies free of her body. Her corpse sways, collapsing in a heap.

Tatum stands up … she tosses the weapon aside, rushing over to Billy. She cradles him in her arms.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE MURDER HOUSE – MORNING

It's a new day. Paramedics wheel several body bags into vans. Gale and Dewey are both in stretcher, conscious. They hold hands together as they are wheeled away.

Billy and Tatum sit on the back of a police van, blankets around them.

BILLY: I often imagined us getting back together … fantasized about it … I just never imagined it would be this gruesome …

Tatum takes his head.

TATUM: We'll get past this … together.

Billy nods and they kiss. He sighs, staring at the rising sun.

BILLY: Think Gale will make a sequel series about this?

Tatum snuggles into him.

TATUM: Course she will. It's her bread and butter.

The camera zooms out on the horrific scene. The evens were monstrous … but there is hope in renewed love …

THE END
