Chapter One

~.~

(Adora's POV)

One moment, Catra and I are walking through the rose garden at the palace of Bright Moon, and the next, she and I, along with Glimmer, Bow and Micah are standing in front of a house…and we have a feeling we know whose house this is.

Our pumpkin, our baby girl.

Our minds fill with 21st century knowledge, and, on instinct, being young adults, Catra, Glimmer, Bow and I take out our phones. It's July 9, 2021.

Catra and I look in our contacts and see our girl is definitely in our contacts, with hearts around her name.

Catra and I look at each other, wondering which one of us will be texting or calling Becky.

We need to take the next step and actually call or text her.

Catra and I flip a coin: heads, Catra texts her, tails, I text her.

It lands on tails.

"Dang." Catra mutters.

Now, I get to text my one girlfriend that I've technically never met…but how do we know that she was Catra's and my girlfriend? We thought we were missing something back on Etheria, and when we got here, we knew exactly what – well, who – that something was.

(Becky's POV)

I'm just downstairs in the living room, alone, swiping through potential matches, when I get a text from someone with hearts around their name, or should I say her name?

Adora.

One of my two imaginary girlfriends. Well, technically, the three of us are wives, but the marriage isn't technically legally binding…since it was just me that was at our wedding...

My imagination is very…vast, I guess I could say?

Anyway, before replying to the text, I look at my contacts and see Catra's name is there as well, with hearts around her name, along with Glimmer, Bow and Micah.

I reply to Adora's text, and ask where she and the others are.

Adora: Look out the front door, beautiful.

I go to my front door, and look out, seeing five people standing in my yard, and they are all familiar to me.

Catra and Adora, my girlfriends. Glimmer, a friend who's like a sister to me. Bow, a friend. Micah, like a father to me.

I open the front door, and I go outside.

Catra and Adora approach me.

"Hey, Rebekah." Catra tells me.

"Hey, Catra. Hey, Adora." I tell my girls.

"Hey, you." Adora says.

My girls both wrap their arms around me.

"It's kinda hot out here, don't you think, guys?" Bow asks us.

"Yeah, it is. We'd better get inside before it gets hotter." Glimmer replies.

We all walk inside my home and sit down.

"So…my question is: how are you all here?"

"That's what we're trying to figure out ourselves." Glimmer says.

"One moment, we were all in the palace in Bright Moon on Etheria, and the next, we were here." Catra says.

"That is very strange. But, right now, I don't care…unless there might be a way you'd be forced to go back to Etheria…" I say.

"Not that we're aware of, pumpkin." Catra tells me. I blush slightly at her pet name for me.

"So, now what do we do?" Adora asks.

"I guess we could get to know one another. Officially, at least." Glimmer suggests.

After about an hour of getting to know one another, my parents come home, and I gulp.

How am I going to explain these people – my chosen family – to them – my blood family?

"Mom, Dad…I can explain."

"Go ahead and explain who these people are and why they're here." My dad says.

"Well…" I look back at Catra and Adora. They step up to me to give me comfort, support and backup, and they each take one of my hands.

"This is Catra and Adora, along with Glimmer, Glimmer's dad Micah and Bow. And…they're from a Netflix show called 'She-Ra and the Princesses of Power'. We don't know how they got here, but, unless some unseen force sends them back to Etheria…they're here to stay, and I, personally, wouldn't want it any other way."

"Agreed." Adora says, pecking me on the cheek. My mom actually gags at the sight. I struggle to not roll my eyes at my mother.

"If Adora is your girlfriend, who is Catra to you?" My dad asks.

"Catra is also my girlfriend. The three of us – Catra, Adora and myself – are in a polyamorous relationship."

Both of my parents are speechless.

Soon, my mother speaks up.

"You'll have two weeks to pack up your things and move back to…wherever they came from."

"Etheria." Everyone but my parents says.

"Whatever. Your friends can help you pack. We'll get you boxes and packing supplies. Anything that's left, we'll be donating." My mother says coldly.

Now I'm the speechless one.

(Adora's POV)
I can feel Becky start to shake from anxiety.

"Come on, baby girl. Let's go upstairs." Becky numbly nods at Catra and we all head upstairs as Becky's former parents leave the house, presumably to get boxes and packing supplies.

"How are we going to get back to Etheria?" Becky asks.

"We'll figure something out."

"If only my dads were here. They'd probably know how to get us home." Bow says.

"I'm sure we can figure out as a team how to get back home. I mean, we saved the universe! Figuring out how to get back home should be easy." Catra says.

"I can't help but agree with you, Catra." I tell her.

"Hey!"

It's then the five of us notice Becky at her windowseat, staring out at the world.

"You okay, Becky?" Bow asks.

"Not really, Bow. But thanks for asking."

Soon, Becky's former parents return with boxes and packing supplies.

"Becky has money in case you want to order food." Becky's former mother says.

We're left speechless.

"Come on, guys. We need to start packing so we can get out of here as soon as possible." Glimmer states.

Between the five of us, we start packing up the books, clothes and other knick-knacks Becky has.

About a week later, everything she owns has been packed up, and we've found a way back to Etheria, and it's the same way I came to Etheria: through a portal.

After a test trip through our homemade portal, we take box after box of Becky's things through it, and, soon, she's leaving her old life behind, and ready to start anew.
