She's been dancing around the topic for weeks now. She has to come clean. But she can't. She can't see the look on Ava's face when she finds out she'd been lying to her since she'd come back.

Sara downed the last of her scotch in one quick gulp grateful that despite being a cobbled-together mess of cloned human and alien DNA she was still able to enjoy the extensive selection of top-shelf liquor Gideon kept well stocked in her office.

"Hey, about ready for bed babe?"

Sara felt a grin pull at her lips at the tentative question coming from behind her as Ava stepped up behind her. Chin hooked over her shoulder. Her arms warm and solid around her cradling her against Ava's strong front. "Funny I was just about to come ask you that." She admits turning around to face her fiancée one last time. She'd be lucky if Ava didn't decide to eject her mother's ring if not Sara herself out the airlock afterward.

Sara was sure that not even whatever alien genetics she had now would protect her from the vortex.

The next heavy conversation stalls as soon as Ava's mouth presses hot and coaxing against Sara's own as the shorter of the two was pressed back against the edge of her own desk by her taller fiancée.

Sara knew full well what Ava was attempting with the sudden rush of heated PDA as her lips move in a fast heatedly trail kissed down Sara's throat considering Sara had been more than a little cautious about being intimate since she'd come back.

She had to be considering that aside from herself Ava knew every curve and scar placement on her body intimately and completely having spent several considerable nights tracing each and every one after and during whenever things become more heated between them.

"You don't need to hide from me." Ava murmured her forehead not nuzzled against Sara's own as they each caught their breath.

"Ava." Sara whimpered her hands fisted tight enough to risk ripping the taller woman's shirt apart if Sara pulled hard enough.

"I miss being close to you Sara. Why do you keep pushing me away?" Ava pouted already knowing the answer. And without missing a beat she got it. Just like she always did it seemed.

"I'm not who you think I am babe. I'm different." Sara says her eyes downcast as Ava rocks back on her heels giving her fiancée some semblance of space without actually moving apart.

They'd already been separated longer than they could stand.

"I don't care." Ava argues locking her arms once more around Sara's middle. "Hey." She coaxes when Sara still refused to meet her eyes. "I want you as is. Whatever Bishop did to you. I don't care. You're here. That's all I care about."

"That's just it Ava. I'm not me. Not anymore. I—I'm…" Sara hesitates now as Ava's arms drop, and she backs away a few steps. The distance worse than a knife to her heart for Sara.

"Different?" Ava finishes

"A clone." Sara confesses in a broken whisper. As proof, she pulls off her shirt finally allowing her no doubt soon-to-be ex-fiancée to see her smooth scarless upper body. "I'm a clone."

"So am I." Ava shrugs folding her arms over her front, "And come on being human- so overrated." She laughs yet her eyes are already raking hungrily over every bit of Sara's half-nakedness.

"No Avs." Sara counters shaking her head in denial as she tosses her shirt away onto the floor in frustration. "I'm not just a clone of the Sara you fell in love with. I'm an alien now too. That jurk spliced my-well the real Sara's DNA with different aliens he collected to make some kind of superspecies." She tries to explain.

"So that's why you're bulletproof and able to regenerate?" Ava probes intrigued now dragging her gaze back toward Sara's eyes.

"Basically." Sara nodes still clearly frustrated at Ava's too casual answer to this secret she'd been holding back. "Point is I'm not the Sara Lance you remember. I'm not even human."

"But you are the Sara Lance I said yes to." Ava points out with a shy smile crowding back into Sara's more personal space with the true captain of the WaveRider now half laying half sitting on one of the office's comfier leather-backed chairs. Ava's smile grew when she noticed the way Sara's breathing changed when she'd finally settled down now straddling the shorter woman's lap with a smug grin. "You're as real as I feel about you, and just as much my Sara now as you were before that Bishop guy stole you away from me." She argues one hand resting over the seated woman's collar bone in that claiming way only they were allowed to do with one another as her other hand cards in Sara's hair tugging it free from the ponytail it had been up in.

"Promise," Ava adds when Sara still looked unconvinced as her hands rest against Ava's hip to steady the taller of the two over her on the uneven sitting arrangements.

Tears spilled from Sara's eyes as she curls her pinky with Ava's as she lets out the broken breath, she hadn't realized she'd been holding.

"Clone alien whatever. You're my final girl, Lance." Ava vows pressing a light kiss against the digit now linked with her own.

Sara drags her down sealing her lips to Ava's grinning ones in a heated kiss.

Ava giggles against her mouth when she feels more than sees her shirt being ripped off of her as Sara's lips move down to kiss a claiming trail down her throat then peppered more along her shoulder.

"I love you, Ava Sharp."

"I love you too, Sara Lance."

Eventually, they knew they'd need to move to this stollen moment to the safety of their room, but for now, they stay like this. Shirts tossed aside as they continue trading promising greedy kisses between them as they sit tangled together in their shared office.
