Andy felt like crying, she was driving their dog to the vet. Miranda was in the backseat, crying. She was staying with Patricia. Andy put her hand on her wife's leg, for a moment. They were going to put Patricia down.

She was having a hard time moving around, she stopped eating, and wont drink water. Miranda poured a lot of money into her, but Patricia wasn't even happy anymore.

The dog wasn't even excited, she usually stuck her face out the window, car rides. her tail would become a weapon, and hit some passengers in the head, with it. But she was just laying on the seats, and whimpering. Her head was in Miranda's lap.

Miranda was very close to the dog. She stuck by her, when her husband, and kids left. The twins pretty much just abandoned Miranda. They hadn't talked since the second husband left.

Miranda tried to call, and text them. But it would just go to voicemail, and they wouldn't text back. Andy has been struggling to help Miranda. And now her dog was going away, as well.

Andy parked the car, and Patricia whined again. Andy got the dog, for Miranda. And put her on her leash. Patricia was too tired, and sick to run away, but she would walk really slow, and would've trailed behind them.

The dog walked tiredly, and just stood when they sat down in the plastic chairs, in the entrance of the building. Miranda scratched the back of Patricia's ears, and Andy put her hand and Miranda's back.

The doctors put Patricia on the table, and they left Miranda alone with the dog.

Miranda petted her, "I love you, Patricia." She said, "And I'm doing this for you, it's time I guess." She choked. She kissed Patricia's head.

She buried her face in her fur, "You stuck by me, when my own daughters wouldn't." She petted her dog's head. She sobbed again, Patricia whined, and snuggled up to Miranda's torso.

"I will miss you, Patricia"

She snuggled with her dog, and sobbed. Her shoulders shook violently. Her make up was ruined, and her ice queen persona was shattered.

The doctors, and her wife came back into the room, and the vets started to get things ready.

Miranda petted her head, and Andy held the dog down. Patricia was fighting, barking, and howling. And it was making Miranda cry harder.

"Shh, Patricia," Miranda soothed, "It's okay, it's okay," They put in the shot, and she stopped flailing. "I love you," She managed.

Miranda put her hand over her mouth, tears flowed down her cheeks. Her dog was gone. Andy held her wife, as she cried into Andy's blouse.

A few weeks later

Miranda was very mopy, and Andy was worried about her. so she went to the only person who could help her, Emily. Which would help the both of them.

Emily was at her desk, typing something up. "Hey, Em," Andy said, Emily looked up at her.

"Hi," She said, and went back to her thing. She huffed, and violently typed something.

"Are you busy?" Andy sat down at the second assistant desk. No one worked as the second assistant yet.

"Kind of, I'm fighting this photographer. He's refusing to change the date of the shoot, and he won't let us fire him. And Miranda won't let us go tomorrow. Why, what's up?"

"Do you still have those puppies?" She asked, Emily was complaining, that her boyfriend's dog got her dog pregnant. Andy knew it was a dumb question, of course Emily still had them, no one was buying them.

"How many do you want?"

"Just one,"

"Are you sure? You can have eight," She said sarcastically.

"No, I'm good"

"Okay, so, they've all had their booster shots, and whatnot, they're old enough. So you can literally just pick one up."

"Thanks, Em. I appreciate it, you have no idea."

"No, thank you. They're driving me to insanity."

Andy looked at the selection of dogs that were driving Emily up the wall. They mostly had blue eyes, and lighter fur. They were german shepherd husky mixes.

Emily gave her one, that was more relaxed. "Here she's pretty calm, and might suit Miranda better, but heads up, she's sassy."

"Do you have a name for her?" Andy asked, when Emily handed her the dog.

"Well it varies between, dammit, and get off my bed, but mostly dammit. Why? do you have no idea what to name her?"

"No, I don't. Do you like any of those names?" Andy asked the dog, it looked away. "Yeah, I didn't think so," She looked back at her friend. "Thank you, so much Em." She hugged her friend, Emily never let anyone do this. And it was pretty tense, and uncomfortable. But Emily"still let her. I'm sorry, I'm just really worried about her." Andy said, when she pulled away.

"I know you are,"

Andy walked into the town house, she was hoping this would make Miranda feel better. She walked up to their room, and found Miranda asleep in their bed.

"Miranda," Andy shook her lightly, "Miranda honey," The woman opened her eyes.

"Andrea," she said, a bit groggy. "What time is it?"

"I have something for you,"

"What?" She asked, confused.

"Yeah, I hope it will help a little." She got up, and picked up the dog. She was very unsure of this.

"A dog?" Miranda asked.

"Not just a dog, a puppy who really wants an owner, named Miranda." The woman sat up, and held the puppy, it was still in its fuzzy phase.

It just rested in her arms, and fell asleep. "Fine,"

"You'll keep her?" Andy asked, hopeful.

"Yeah, I guess. She doesn't seem too dreadful." Tears sprang to Miranda's eyes, again. "I still miss her,"

Andy held her, as she cried. She felt bad for Miranda, about Patricia. She loved her so much, but luckily she was open to having a new dog.
