Angelica smiled as she placed flowers inside a vase. The flowers were from Thomas Jefferson. She was surprised that he knew orchids were her favorite when she had never told him in their letters. Those wonderful letters. Angelica swooned. She picked up the vase and put in the center of the kitchen table. She picked up the note that came with the flowers.

Some flowers for my flower.

-Thomas

She had to admit. He wasn't very good at writing flirtatious notes. His letters were better. Suddenly, Angelica had a crazy idea. She grabbed her umbrella (it had been pretty rainy the past few days) and left. It didn't take very long before she arrived at her destination. Hesitantly, she knocked on the door.

"Hello who are you?" asked Sally politely.

"I am Angelica Schuyler", Angelica said. "I'm here to see Thomas."

"Of course Miss Schuyler", Sally said. "Follow me please."

Angelica looked around. The house was beautiful. Candelabra and paintings were every where.

"Mr. Jefferson talks about you quite a lot Miss Schuyler", Sally told Angelica. "I'd say he quite fancies you."

Angelica felt heat rise into her cheeks. He talks about her. She swooned again.

"And I would wager", Sally added, "that you're quite taken with him as well."

"Well then you would win that wager", Angelica said.

"Good because that means more door duty for me and more dish duty for James", Sally snickered.

"Why do you want door duty?"

"More time to socialize. Here we are" Sally motioned to a pair of doors.

"Thank you", Angelica said as she opened one of the doors. In the room was Thomas (cue another swoon) and someone else. "Surprise"

Thomas and the other man looked up. They had been talking in hurried French. They were startled when the heard Angelica.

"Angelica?" Thomas asked.

"Angie?" the other man said.

"Gilbert?" Angelica was shocked.

"How do you two know each other?" Thomas asked trying not to sound jealous.

"He's one of my brother-in-law's best friends", Angelica explained. "It's so good to see you"

"And it's good to see you as well", Lafayette said embracing Angelica. His accent was 500 times thicker than when she last saw him.

"Ahem"

Angelica walked over to Thomas. He took her hand and kissed it.

Lovebirds. Alex is going to have a heart attack, Lafayette thought smiling.

"I got the flowers you sent", Angelica smiled.

"Good", Thomas smiled back. This smiling went on for a while. Finally Lafayette broke the silence.

"Well I should be going", he said. "Thomas I will see you later"

"Of course", Thomas said absentmindedly.

"Good bye Gilbert", Angelica said. Lafayette left leaving Thomas and Angelica alone.

"So why have you come here?" asked Thomas leading her out the door.

"I don't know", Angelica shrugged. "I guess it just gets lonely living by yourself."

"That makes sense", Thomas paused. "Do you want a tour?"

"How could I not?"

"Well then let us begin", he lead her down the stairs. "I'm going to show you my favorite spot. Well one of them at least" He opened a door that lead out to a garden. Angelica was in awe.

"Did you plant all these yourself?"

"Yes"

"It's wonderful! Is there anything else", Angelica was now eager to get going. This was going to be interesting. Thomas walked to a different spot and opened another door. It was a workshop. Angelica walked in looking and spinning around to see everything. She walked over to what looked like a bookshelf. A small one that is.

"What's this?" she asked.

"It's a rotating bookshelf", Thomas explained enthusiastically.
