Summary/disclaimer: Time for another battle of the Wight and the Knight. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Batman; DC and a few others do.

Bruce was NOT someone who was caught off-guard often. He had failsafes within failsafes, constantly improving upon every single gadget or piece of technology he held.

"Hmm…" Bruce stated as he started to look over the new information slowly started to drain into the computer.

The 'Wight' as he called himself was low on Batman's radar. Bruce began to believe he was taking full advantage of being less noticeable than the rest of the rouges Bruce had dispatched. It made him dangerous, but Bruce couldn't tell if he was on the same side as Batman, or one of the many rouges he would be returning to Arkham.

"I need not remind you Gotham is a nest for insanity itself, Master Bruce." Alfred stated, emerging from a corner of the shadows within the room. "This 'Wight'? He is simply another factor of daily life within Gotham, it appears." Alfred added as Bruce said nothing, placing a hand under his chin as he thought about it.

He was quite curious on WHAT the Wight was. He was well aware that the entity was a new costumed figure at the end of the day… However? Bruce did not yet know what powers, abilities, skills, and the like Wight possessed.

"Do you believe he is attempting to be another batman, Master Bruce?" Alfred questioned, raising an eyebrow in response to Bruce's silence. "There's always possibly another version of you, one who might believe your methods are antiquated and therefore ineffective." Alfred added as Bruce shook his head.

"The Wight hasn't killed anyone yet." Bruce added, pointing to a screen with a possible sighting from a security camera. "If he did? I'd have noticed. Wight isn't trying to gain any attention, he's appeared at crime scenes, but he's not done anything majorly yet which means he's either plotting something?" Bruce stated to which Alfred nodded, curious about the details.

He knew that if Wight did something to escalate from merely watching? He'd become a possible threat, hence why Bruce kept an eye upon him, interested in what his motives and intentions were.

"Is he observing rather then engaging like you do?" Alfred questioned while he slowly approached. "This Wight seems to understand you are dangerous. If he believes you are such a threat? Then it is possible that he's rather scared of the possibility that you are as dangerous if not more so." Alfred added at the moment, stopping behind his charge a moment later.

It made him far more curious as to who this being was. There was footage of him. Bruce's computers also had a clear reading upon the image, narrowing it down considerably. Alfred had known enough about Bruce's rouges to know it could possibly be another of them trying a new identity to throw Batman off. Nothing about the criminals of Gotham seemed to really think normally, something the man had become accustomed to.

"I'm sure he thinks about that." Bruce stated as he looked away from the computer for a second. "He doesn't appear to show up whenever he notices I am around. That still doesn't narrow down his connection to the crimes he appears at." Bruce added before starting to cross the cave towards his bat suit.

Still? He was curious about who this being was at the end of the moment. Bruce started to think about whom the Wight could be, he looked similar to Batman. It was similar to the Arkham Knight, but he didn't know if the Wight was inspired by Astrid and him, or simply adopting similar garb in an attempt to throw off the police.

It didn't throw off Gordon who remained as collected as he had always been. This Wight had to be confronted, and Bruce believed he had JUST the idea to draw him out.

(With the Wight)

The figure landed in a crouch, looking around before slowly proceeding forwards. He didn't know to think at the moment. He rubbed at his temples, curious as to the next move being made at the moment.

He turned and began to walk further into the depths of the rooftop he had landed on. There was work to be done, glorious work that must be accomplished before he appeared… For if he did? Then Wight didn't believe he'd be capable of stopping him at the end of the day, that scared him more then he believed was possible, but it shouldn't have.

"The bat is a friend or foe; I do not yet know." Wight stated, scratching at his temples in pain as he thought about it. "And if I do not know? Then I must understand what he is and how he functions. It is only natural." Wight added, putting a hand to his temples as he pondered the next move he made.

It did not come for several moments when he thought about it.
