Emily didn't realise it was a full moon, or she wouldn't have left her apartment. She hated full moons.

She was in Central Park, and the sun was going down. Emily was reading a book, and looked at the sky, to see the sunset.

It was one of the only things that brought her usual tornado inside her head, to peace. She used to watch sunsets with her dad.

They used to watch them as a family, until her mother got sick, and she died soon after. But she could still feel her mother there with them.

She remembered it enough to imagine she was. Emily sighed, but of course life in the Charlton family wasn't normal.

They had some weird abilities, her dad could turn invisible, her grandmother could tell the future, and Emily could shapeshift.

Most of the people in her family had it. Unless the women were married, and took their husband's name, then their ability was no more.

Her mother used to be able to read minds, and Emily was too young to hate it, she would've hated it during her teen years though.

But as the sun started to go down, Emily noticed something. It was a full moon tonight, she couldn't believe she forgot.

She ran inside the trees, somewhere no one was in sight. She could feel herself shrink, she turned into a Labrador. But the bad part about that was, her adult Labrador form died. So she was a puppy again.

She could hear someone in ear shot, she struggled to find her way out of her jacket, and shirt. She was only six weeks, so her eyes were constantly squinted, and she was like a big fluff ball.

She wanted to change to a german shepherd, so she could be an adult, and go home. But on a full moon the universe decided what she was. She hated being small, because she was already exhausted, just making her way to the sidewalk.

She saw two people walk up to her, but she fell over, and was out. Soon though, she was back again, she could see it was Andrea, and Miranda. The two were married.

"Hey, it's okay. You're going to be alright."

"No, Andrea put me down! Put me down! Right now! Miranda!"

The puppy was barking loudly. "You don't like being held, do you?" Andy asked.

"No, I do not! Put me down!" Emily yelled, Andy just looked at the puppy, who seemed a bit frazzled.

Andrea reached her hand to the puppy's ear, and started scratching the back of it. Emily's puppy side liked it. And much to Emily's dismay, her leg started to shake.

"Let's take her home, and see if we can find her owner tomorrow."

"Okay, but Patricia is going to have to stay somewhere else. She will go crazy." Miranda said. Emily knew that Miranda gave into Andy a lot.

"No, I don't have my clothes! My purse, my phone!" Emily barked some more.

"Do you like that idea?" Andy asked

"No, I do not! Put me down! I need my clothes, and purse!"

Andy held her, during the car ride to the town house. And Emily kept barking. Telling her to turn back, and to quit shushing her.

They arrived, and Emily was trying to wiggle out of Andy's arms, she did a few times, but managed to smack her face on the concrete, and landed in a rose bush.

So she just gave up, and they arrived at the town house. Patricia started sniffing her, and pushed her a few times. Emily stood there, and just put up with it for the most part.

"Don't sniff my ass!" She kicked Patricia, and scurried off, and the big dog chased her. The dog was even more terrifying.

She ran around as fast as her tiny legs could, and found Andy and Miranda's bedroom, the door was closed.

"Help! Help me, please!" she was jumping, and scratching on the door. "She's going to kill me!"

Patricia finally got up the stairs, she was having hip problems. Emily ran away from the door, and found Cassidy walking to her bedroom.

The girl faced Emily, and she jumped, for Cassidy to catch her. She raised her puppy arms. Cassidy looked at her like she was crazy.

But Emily missed, and she instead hit the table, from her torso, and it folded her in half. She coughed, and fell to the floor, on her back. And Patricia couldn't stop fast enough, and ran into the wall.

She knocked down a painting, and it landed on Emily, who was laying on her back. Cassidy hurried over to her, and picked up the painting.

She was laying half dead on the ground. "You poor puppy," Emily just laid in her arms. Cassidy looked at the collar that just appeared around the dog's neck.

She flipped the tag. "Emily? That's not really a dog name."

"Cassidy, what is going on out here?" Miranda asked, a bit strangled. Patricia tried to get up, but hit her head under the table. And knocked a vase down.

"Patricia was chasing this puppy, and she ran into the wall, and the painting landed on the puppy."

Andy took the puppy, so she could try to control the bleeding nose. She got a few tissues, and laid the tired puppy on her lap. She wiped the nose with the tissue, and had a paper towel on her lap.

Andy noticed the collar, "I didn't see this before," Andy said, and read the name. "Emily, huh," she didn't see a number on it though.

She started petting the puppy's back, and the dog fell asleep.

The next morning

Emily was laying on the dog bed, her dog side was still half active. She was laying on her back, and her leg was jerking.

Miranda walked into the living room, to find her assistant in the dog bed, without any clothes on.

"Emily, what the hell do you think you're doing?" Miranda yelled.

She shot straight up. "Squirrel?" Emily asked, still half asleep. "Oh shit," she snapped her fingers, and turned back into a dog.

"What the-" Miranda fell back. And hit one of the tables. Andy came in.

"Are you alright, Miranda?" Andy asked, and helped her back up. Miranda pointed to Emily, who was sitting on her hind legs, and trying to motion a 'bring it down' signal, with her front legs. Andy picked her up again, "What's wrong with that? She's just cute, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I'll be really cute when I'm human, and I can get revenge." Emily barked.

"Oh, you must be starving." Andy walked to the kitchen, and Miranda was still speechless.

"No, not really."

She got some of Patricia's dog food, and poured a bowl. Emily sat down in front of it, and just stared at her.

Miranda came in, still not knowing what was happening. She pointed to Emily. "That dog isn't a dog. It's Emily."

"Her name is Emily, but she's still a dog."

"No, work Emily. Your friend, Emily." She turned to the lher assistant. "Show her, turn back into yourself."

"Miranda, are you sure you're alright?"

She sat on her hindlegs again (or sat pretty). And motioned at her body, and made an X, with her front legs.

"Oh yeah, I will grab a towel." Miranda said, Emily sat normally again. She came back with a white towel. "Where do you want this?"

Emily pointed to the table, with her paw. And turned her other paw in a 'turn around' motion.

She clapped her paws together, and she turned back to a human. She wrapped the towel around her body. She had a few bruises, and cuts from last night.

"Okay,"

They both looked around, and Andy's jaw dropped. "Emily?"

"Yeah,"

"That explains,"

"Yeah, I was trying to tell you."

"Sorry, I can't speak dog."

Emily got home, she had the day off. She got dressed, and went to see if by some miracle her purse, and clothes were still there.

She was glad to be home, the day before was chaos.
