Hello, readers. After having done some thinking on how I'm going to do this, I have finally gotten to writing the reboot to 'A New Face at the 4077'!

Now, I'm using a completely different name for this story to be separated from the story it's a reboot of, not to mention this will take place during the first three seasons, specifically season 2.

Although some elements from the original will be incorporated for this story, such as the characterization of Major Andrew Peterson since that's staying the same for this story. I might also reuse parts of that story that wouldn't seem out of place in the first three seasons if Andrew was an official character, such as some of the kissing scenes between him and Margaret. That'll be done later on in the story after things getting settled in.

And another thing, for this story, I'm gonna make better use of Radar in this story along with his friendship with Andrew, and I'm also going to attempt showing he's not that good with structuring his sentences when he speaks, let alone certain words that he mispronounces a lot of the time, based on a review I got. It's not going to be easy, but I'm going to try my best with that since Radar will be the mainstay for this story.

I should also point out that Andrew is in his early 30s for this story, so even though he's older than Radar, a friendship with the boy can still be possible.

One other thing, just so you know, I've looked into the three characters that will be used for this story. Henry Blake from what I've looked up is a rather laid-back and easy-going Colonel most of the time, and he hardly goes by the military book and usually allows the compound to run itself. Though there are several exceptions where he does put his foot down when it's necessary, such as when something big comes up, a General or important military figure is visiting the compound, keeping Klinger from getting a Section 8 discharge, or something else. Otherwise, his characterization seems basic.

As far as Trapper is concerned, he's like a second Hawkeye Pierce if one could see how he behaves naturally. The thing is, he is much more cynical, he truly sees the war as being dreadful, and it's been mentioned at one point that while he sees the 4077 as a hell hole, he couldn't imagine being sent to another M*A*S*H unit that's worse than the 4077. Not to mention that while he has a wife and a couple of kids back at home, he isn't above having affairs with some of the other nurses in the unit, which I can assume has something to do with how the war gets pretty lonely without your loved ones by your side.

And as for Frank Burns...well, I don't need to go into details about how horrible he is as a person, how he acts like a complete tyrant and dictator when he is in command of the 4077, to the point where he doesn't care about morale reaching the bottom of the barrel, and how he's a pushover. And that's not even getting into how possessive he is of Margaret and how he acts jealous when she's with another man, even though he is cheating on his wife back at home by having affairs with Margaret. That combined with how he's called Ferret Face, the jokes about him being chinless and having no lips make him pretty easy to write out.

Well, enough with my rambling on with the author's note, let's get started with the reboot. Enjoy the story, everyone!

AT THE M*A*S*H 4077; IN SOUTH KOREA - 16:41

The 4077. Known by many who are stationed there as a cesspool, a hell hole, and even a loony bin, it was one of the many Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (or M*A*S*H) units stationed throughout South Korea. These M*A*S*H units are designed to treat and operate on the wounded and casualties that are shipped over, thanks to the currently ongoing Korean War, and the 4077 was no different than any other in that category.

What does make it different from the others, however, was the fact that there was a lot of chaos taking place at the M*A*S*H 4077, even when casualties aren't being sent forward or when the compound isn't being under attack. Several reasons for this include childish pranks being played on some of the personnel, alcoholic beverages were served to the doctors and nurses, gambling was a common sight, especially poker, a lot of the doctors have affairs with the nurses, even those who are already married, and the pervertic doctors in the outfit take pleasure in peeping into the women's shower tent to see them naked.

Currently, in the office that belongs to the commanding officer, or the Colonel, a meeting was being held with the main medical crew. The office was fairly simple. There was a filing cabinet to the front corner within the right side of the room, there was a high school diploma being held up on the left side, a dartboard, a skeletal atomical model was shown in the far end of the office, and on the wall on the end of the office was some childish-looking drawings, and some other stuff too.

Sitting at the desk that belongs to the C.O in question was the Colonel, who was known by the unit as Henry Blake, or was referred to as Colonel Blake. Coming in at an average height of 6'3", he was shown with having pale white skin, had sandy brown colored hair, had blue eyes, and had an average build.

As far as clothing was concerned, he was dressed in something casual. The most notable feature was the bucket fishing hat on his head that has fishing flies and lures with hooks, along with the Lt. Colonel insignia placed on the front. And as for the clothes, he was wearing a white collared dark blue long-sleeved shirt with the letter 'I' in orange placed in the center of it, had army green pants and was wearing black boots on his feet.

Sitting in the two chairs to the left wall of the room where the window was placed were two captains. The first one was also the chief surgeon known as Benjamin Franklin Hawkeye Pierce, or as he prefers to be called Hawkeye Pierce, or just Hawkeye. Being at a height of 6'2", he was shown with having pure black hair, pale skin, an average build, and blue eyes.

Right next to Hawkeye was another surgeon who was known as Trapper John McIntyre. Like Hawkeye, he prefers to be called Trapper McIntyre, or just Trapper. Coming in at a height of 6'3", Trapper was shown with pale skin, had hazel-colored eyes, sandy reddish blonde hair that was curly, and he had a rather athletic build for a body.

Both of them were wearing comfortable casual clothes, as they were both wearing button-up Hawaiian t-shirts; Hawkeye's was blue with white Hawaiian flowers shown, while Trapper's was dark yellow with pure yellow Hawaiian flowers shown. They were also wearing hats, with Hawkeye's being a tan cowboy hat with a brown strap on the base of the rim, while Trapper's was also tan, but was shown with a red cloth wrapped around the base, and a purple feather was shown too.

Sitting in the two chairs in front of the desk were two Majors. Unlike Hawkeye and Trapper, both Majors were wearing the usual outfits that were meant to be worn in the compound. One of them was identified as a man who goes by the name Frank Burns. Being at a height of 6 feet, Frank was shown with having pale Caucasian skin, brown hair, hazel colored eyes, and was shown with an average build, that was borderline scrawny.

The most notable features on him were the lack of lips and a chin. In addition to the uniform that he usually wears, there was also a gold oak leaf pin placed on his right collar, and he was also wearing a green cap with the same pin placed on the front. Finally, he was wearing the army dog tags for a necklace.

The other Major sitting right next to him was a woman. Being the head nurse in the outfit along with being a Major, she was known by everyone in the outfit as Margaret Houlihan. Standing at a height of 5'7", she also had pale Caucasian skin, long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a rather petite-looking figure for a build.

The most noticeable feature on her was her rather nice-looking lips; a sharp contrast to Frank's lips, or rather lack of, and the rather small mole on the right side of her chin. In addition to wearing the same green outfit Frank was wearing, with the same gold oak leaf pin placed on her right collar, along with the army dog tags being worn as a necklace, she had also pulled her hair back into a bun, which was placed right on the base of her hair. There were a few strands of loose hair dangling by her ears, but otherwise, she looked professional.

All four medical staff members were curious as to what the Colonel called this arrangement for. Seeing that they were giving him those looks, Henry Blake decided to get straight to the purpose of this meeting.

"Well, I guess you are all wondering why I arranged this meeting today," he said.

Hawkeye and Trapper took a minute to exchange looks before they decided to comment.

"Well, now that you mention it, we are curious as to why you gathered us here," Hawkeye told him.

"This is about how you're going to be leaving the 4077 again, huh," Trapper took a guess.

"If you two clowns would stop with the wisecracks, I'll explain it to you," Henry told them before getting to the point. "First off, I am happy to say that we are getting a new surgeon in our outfit."

All four of them were rather surprised by that. The last thing they'd expect is for a new surgeon to be put into the M*A*S*H 4077. The two captains decided to express their thoughts on this in their trademark dry humor sort of manner.

"Wait Henry, you mean to tell me that a new face will be joining our compound?" Hawkeye asked, with a rather snide tone.

"Does that mean someone else is being dragged into this hell hole along with the rest of us?" Trapper's voice was a combination of sarcasm and cynicism.

"Yes, you two. That's exactly what I mean," Henry sighed. "The new surgeon is also a Major, just so you all are aware."

Now it was Frank's turn to voice his thoughts. "A new Major huh? Finally. That's what this unit needs. A good strong Major with military discipline to put all of these crumbs in their place."

"Now don't get ahead of yourself Major Burns," Henry told him. "The Major is also going to be given a tent of his own while on our base."

"Wait Henry, did you say a new tent," Hawkeye quipped. "Do you mean that tent we saw being put up for a new member of our compound?"

"Yes. What tent did you think I meant Pierce," Henry queried in slight annoyance.

"Well, we thought someone was practicing for when he's ready to pitch a real tent," Trapper deadpanned.

"Well it's true," Colonel Blake said. "And the new tent is being reserved for the new Major. I had Radar take the jeep to go get him, and they are expected to be here at 1710 hours."

"Well I don't like that at all Colonel," Frank made his complaint. "If anything, I should be given that tent instead of this new Major, just so I can get away from those two bozos!"

"Trap, did you hear that," Hawkeye was being heavily sarcastic. "Frank just called us 'bozos'."

"I thought we'd never make it Hawk," Trapper was also being sarcastic. "Must've been from all the booze we drank out of the still."

"Now cut that out you two crumbs," Frank lashed out at them. "I should be given the tent all to myself! Not this new Major we are expecting!"

"I agree! This is absolutely unfair," Margaret jumped into the debate. "Major Burns has been in this outfit longer than this new Major we're expecting! I say he should be given the tent and the new Major should sleep with those two maniacs for Captains!"

"Ah, so I see Margaret is at it again," Hawkeye said snidely.

"No need to rain on our parade, Hot Lips," Trapper said, calling her that name as an insult.

"Her name is Major Houlihan, you two," Frank chastised them before facing the Colonel. "Colonel, I request that you give that tent over to me immediately!"

"And if you don't, then I'm gonna have to go over your head again, and convince one of the generals to allow Major Burns to stay in that tent," Margaret argued.

"Now look, before you go over my head again Major Houlihan, there is more about this Major that you all should know," Henry told them before taking out the folder that has the information about the new Major. "First off, I want you all to know that the Major is a man."

"A man? You're holding out on us Henry," Trapper retorted in annoyance.

"Yes McIntyre, the Major is a man. But there's more that you should know about," Henry read the information on him. "His name is Andrew Peterson. He also stands at a height of 6'1", has pale Caucasian skin, average length dirty blonde colored hair, and green eyes. He also has quite an athletic build according to the information given."

"Huh. He's not so tough," Frank scoffed, crossing his arms.

"Wait Burns, there's more," Henry continued. "Apparently Major Peterson had served in the army for three years. In addition to that, he has taken a four-year college course in becoming a doctor and a surgeon. And finally, he has a pretty clean record on his file."

"Wow. In that case, maybe Major Peterson should be given the new tent," Margaret started to soften up on Major Peterson, hoping that he was as handsome as it was described to her. She was especially interested in his army profile. "He sounds like a real man. I can't wait for him to show up so I can mold him into a Major with a desire for military discipline just like me and Major Burns."

"Well I don't," Frank was becoming jealous of this new Major, based on his tone. "It's not fair that I have to be stuck with these two slobs and Major Peterson gets a tent to himself!"

"Ah, now Frank is resorting to name-calling," Hawkeye quirked. "First bozos, and now slobs."

"Remind me to give him a medal for making insults towards us, with words like bozos and slobs," Trapper jested towards his partner.

"You two stay out of this!" Frank yelled before looking the Colonel straight in the eye. "I demand to be given that tent!"

Henry had to shake his head at this. "Listen, Burns, even if I wanted to, there's nothing that I can do about it. These orders were given to me by General Hammond himself. It's entirely out of my control."

"You know, I think Frank and Margaret were onto something there," Hawkeye said sarcastically. "I mean why should we miss out on all the fun in setting the tent up for the new major?"

"If you ask me, I'm about ready to pitch a tent myself," Trapper jested before he and Hawkeye started to snicker.

"Now that's not funny, you guys," Frank howled at them. "I still wish that I was given that tent!"

"Well too bad Frank. Because in case you've forgotten, there's a war going on," Henry reminded him. "What I'm saying is that we should have Major Peterson fit into our outfit and allow him to get comfortable."

"I still want to mold him into a strong military man," Margaret rolled her eyes before standing up. "Colonel, with your permission, I'd like to freshen up a bit for when Major Peterson does show up."

"Oh fine, Major Houlihan," Henry moaned. "I'm about done with this announcement anyway. You may leave."

"Yes sir," with that, Margaret turned to face the door and went out to freshen up in her tent for when Major Peterson would be showing up.

"You know what this calls for," Hawkeye suggested after Margaret left. "I think this calls for us having a couple of drinks to welcome Andrew into our outfit."

"Yeah, we could use some drinks anyhow," Trapper agreed. "This calls for drinks on the house."

"Now that you mention it, I could use a little drink myself," Henry told him. "I still have a bottle of Champagne in the cabinet."

It was then Henry Blake got up and went for the cabinet that was right next to his to get out the bottle of Champagne along with a couple of glass martini cups. As he was doing that, Frank stood up and announced.

"Colonel, permission to be dismissed," he yelled, giving him a salute.

"Oh, just get out of here Frank," Henry told him as he opened the cabinet next to the atomical model.

Putting his hand down, Frank turned around and left the office, with no intention of meeting Andrew when he shows up, at least that's what he was planning to do.

With Frank gone, the two captains and colonel decided to help themselves to some Champagne as a toast to welcome the new major into their outfit. All they could do at the moment was wait for Radar to show up with Andrew joining him...

MEANWHILE, ON THE OPEN ROAD - IN SOUTH KOREA:

It turns out Radar had picked up Major Peterson just some time ago and was on his way back to the 4077. Being at a height of 5'4", Radar wore round-lensed glasses, had pale skin, burnt auburn hair, grey color eyes, and had an average build. Along with that, he was wearing that beanie cap on his head, and the uniform he usually wears.

Sitting in the passengers' seat was Andrew Peterson, who looked exactly as it was described in his records. As for his clothing, he was currently wearing the brown Class A uniform that he put on before he left for Korea. On his hat, there was a gold oak leaf pin right on the front, which was proof that he was a Major.

For the most part, he has stayed quiet after Radar picked him up to bring back to the 4077. He had to wonder why the draft board picked him to be sent to Korea, where he would be stationed at some M*A*S*H unit and serving as a surgeon at the 4077, especially with a man like him.

Truth be told, he never saw his own skills and talent as anything special, especially when it comes to being a surgeon. Andrew was known for being modest, soft-spoken, and down-to-earth. He was also known for his quiet personality, as well as for being a loner who prefers to be alone.

Nonetheless, he'll still be nice with anyone he meets at the 4077 when he arrives there. He just hopes that things wouldn't get too crazy for him there.

While he was lost in thought, Radar couldn't help but notice how quiet the Major has been since he picked him up. Was it because he's shy? Or was there another reason for this? Whatever the reason, it got him curious.

"Uhhh...hey sir," he started to ask cautiously. "You've been...rather quiet since I picked you up. Huh?"

"Huh," Andrew felt himself get out of his thoughts when Radar talked to him. "Oh. Well yeah. I have been quiet."

"Is...there a reason why? Sir?" Radar asked.

Andrew looked at him and just shrugged. "Well, there's no reason for it. I'm just not a talkative person. Then again, I can't come up with something to talk about, so there's that."

"Oh, I see," Radar accepted that as an answer.

Now that Andrew was talking, there was something he wanted to get out. Radar introduced his name to him when he picked him up. But there was this question that he felt like asking the Corporal.

"Hey, if you don't mind me asking, you said your name was Radar, right," Andrew queried as Radar nodded. "Why Radar?"

"Oh, uh, well sir," Radar told him honestly. "Sometimes I can tell what's gonna happen before it happens."

"Such as?" Andrew raised his eyebrow.

"I know when the choppers are coming. With the incoming wounded. Sir," Radar answered.

"Ah, I gotcha," Andrew understood what he was referring to.

As they continued to ride down the road, Andrew took a look at his surroundings. He didn't expect Korea to look something like this. There was plenty of barren wastelands and poverty-driven houses. This was where the war was taking place.

"So this is Korea, huh?" Andrew commented. "I have to wonder what the M*A*S*H 4077 is going to be like..."

"Oh well, sir. It's gonna be crazy there," Radar told him. "Trust me. You'll get used to it. I think."

"Yeah, you're probably right," Andrew rubbed his chin. "It won't be something that I haven't seen before."

"You've been through this before?"

"Kinda. I've been in the army for three years. And I had also trained in performing outdoor surgery when in the army too," Andrew said bashfully.

"Wow. That's interesting," Radar complimented.

"Well, it's nothing too interesting," Andrew remarked modestly. "My surgical skills are nothing special, really."

"Oh. Don't say that. Sir," Radar insisted. "I haven't seen you perform in OR. Let alone in the field when there's a guy in trouble."

"That's true," Andrew said thoughtfully. "I just do the best I can to do the right thing, and that's all that's important."

"Gosh. That is something. I guess," Radar commented as he continues to drive.

"Yeah," Andrew said. "By the way, if you are wondering Radar, I'm single. I've never been married. I've never even had a girlfriend."

"Oh. Geez," Radar reacted to that.

"I know." Andrew then decided to change the subject by asking another question. "So just how much longer until we get to the 4077?"

"Oh. Not much longer, sir," Radar said. "I haven't told you this. But I know my way around like a compass. We should be there, in no time."

"I see," Andrew smiled at him.

"By the way, I haven't told you yet. But the M*A*S*H 4077 is located near the village of...You-jong-boo."

"You mean Uijeongbu, right?" Andrew corrected him.

"Yes. That's right. Sorry sir," Radar apologized. "I always say it wrong."

"That's no problem," Andrew insisted. "I was happy to help out."

"Yeah. Thanks," Radar thanked him as he kept driving.

They said nothing else as they went back for the 4077. Andrew had been convincing himself that Radar could make a great friend of his. He couldn't say the same for everyone at this M*A*S*H unit that he's been assigned to, but he'll have to wait and see about that.

I think Radar and I will get along just fine. I can see us becoming friends. Andrew smiled at that thought. I wonder if there's anyone else at the 4077 who I could become friends with. Well, I guess I'll have to find out for myself...

With that thought in mind, Andrew just sat in the passenger's seat as he waited to get to the 4077. He was going to be in for a surprise when he arrives there, but it was something he could manage...

After a few more minutes of driving, and having to pass through a checkpoint with the MPs, Andrew and Radar had made it to the 4077 as they approached the entrance.

"Alright. We made it. To the 4077," Radar announced as they entered the compound.

"Wow," Andrew took a moment to check his surroundings. "This is the 4077, isn't it?"

"Yes, sir," Radar nodded. "This is where the action happens. Or where it's sent to. That is."

"I know what you mean Radar," Andrew said as he heard some Korean song played on the intercom. "I got a quick question Radar. Do they always play this kind of music at the 4077?"

"Oh not always sir," Radar shook his head. "They sometimes play other stuff, too."

"And it's in Korean, right?"

"Yes. Sir. Most of the time."

"That makes sense," Andrew didn't argue with that. "Anyway, something tells me that this is no ordinary M*A*S*H unit, is it?"

"You could say that sir. Things tend to get a bit hectic here," Radar explained. "Then again Colonel Blake tends to take it easy when running this outfit. Most of the time. I just help out by providing the supplies and stuff to keep things balanced. You know what I mean?"

"Sure," Andrew nodded as the jeep was approaching the OR building that Henry Blake's was located in. "One more question, just how many places here do I need to know about?"

"Well, sir. There are so many tents in this compound," Radar gave him the scoop. "The only places you'll need to remember are...the mess tent. The supply tents. The Colonel's tent. And of course, the OR building."

"The OR building," Andrew did some thinking before pointing to the T-Shaped building. "Isn't it that building over there?"

"Yes. That's it over there," Radar pulled up to a parking spot in front. "This is also where the Colonel's office is. It's right past my office. Which right beyond that door."

"That's nice to know," Andrew mused. "And in this building is where the operating room is, where we treat the wounded. Right?"

"Right. You're getting the hang of it already," Radar told him. "Well, we're here. We should go in. And you can meet the Colonel inside."

"Sounds like a good idea," Andrew got out of the jeep along with Radar as he then opened the back door to grab his suitcases. "So anyway Radar, do you think you can give me a hand with these suitcases?"

"Oh sure. Sir. That's what I'm here for," Radar helped by grabbing two suitcases while Andrew grabbed the other two.

"Thanks," Andrew smiled before heading for the door and opened it up. "So, shall we head inside?"

"Right away. Sir," Radar rushed in through the door, with Andrew trailing behind him, as they left the suitcases in Radar's office before heading for Henry's office. Andrew was going to be in for a surprise...

In Colonel Blake's office, we see that Henry was still with Hawkeye and Trapper, and no one else. Their martini glasses were filled with Champagne that they waited to drink until Andrew showed up. After waiting a few moments, Radar came into the office to make an announcement.

"Ahem. Excuse me. Sir," Radar got Henry's attention. "I've returned with the new Major. Just like you ordered sir."

"Well that's great, Radar," Henry told him. "Bring him in."

"You got it, sir," Radar did just that.

"Look what the cat dragged in," Hawkeye commented.

"Let's hope that this Andrew Peterson is worth waiting to drink for," Trapper remarked.

At that moment, Andrew stepped into the office, and then he approached the desk and gave the Colonel a salute.

"Major Andrew Peterson reporting to this M*A*S*H unit as instructed sir," Andrew declared.

"Uh, Major? There's no need for that here," Henry instructed. "I mean at ease."

Andrew then dropped his arm and relaxed a little. He was still curious about the setup around him.

"Well, I guess you want to be introduced to our neck of the woods," Henry told him. "This is the M*A*S*H 4077. I'm the commanding officer of this outfit. I'm Henry Blake, or if you want to be formal, you can call me Colonel Blake."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Colonel Blake," Andrew said. "I'm just surprised to be sent to this unit."

"Yeah. I think all of us are," Henry told him sheepishly before remembering about Hawkeye and Trapper. "Oh right. Major, these two over here are the best surgeons in our camp. They're captains, in case you couldn't tell."

"Oh, I see," Andrew saw the two captains for himself, wondering why they were dressed so casually.

"Captains Pierce and McIntyre? Would you care to introduce yourselves to the new Major?" Henry Blake made the suggestion.

Hawkeye and Trapper looked at Henry for a moment before getting up from their seats and approached Andrew.

"I guess I better start us off," Hawkeye spoke up first. "Ahem, hello there. I'm Captain Hawkeye Pierce. But you can be casual and call me Hawkeye."

"Hawkeye huh," Andrew rubbed his chin. "Why do you call yourself Hawkeye?"

"Have you read The Last of the Mohicans?" Hawkeye asked him.

"Well yes, but..." Andrew trailed off before he started to figure it out for himself. "Oh yeah. That's right. It's that story with the character Nathaniel Bumppo, or Hawk-eye. Ah, I get it."

"Glad to see that you figured it out," Pierce gave him a smirk.

"Yeah," Andrew said sheepishly.

"Ahem," Trapper got the Major's attention. "If you must know, I'm Captain Trapper John McIntyre. But you can be casual and call me Trapper."

"Ah, okay," Andrew rubbed the brim of his cap. "I have to ask, why do you prefer to be called Trapper?"

"Trust me, you don't want to know," McIntyre informed him. "If I told you where I got that name from, you wouldn't be satisfied."

"You're right. I don't want to know," Andrew said hastily, already feeling creeped out by the possible implication regarding how he got the nickname Trapper.

After getting himself together for a couple of moments, Andrew decided to bring something up with the two captains.

"I have a question for both of you, do you two always dress casually," he asked. "Do you two always wear those t-shirts?"

"Well no. We actually felt like going out for a stroll on the beaches of Honolulu," Hawkeye answered sarcastically. "But it seems we made a wrong turn and we ended up in the middle of the Korean War instead."

"Wait, this ain't Honolulu?" Trapper asked his partner sarcastically. "Hawk, you promised me that we were booked to go on a two-week vacation to Honolulu."

"Not to worry Trap," Hawkeye said assuringly. "We'll get there eventually."

"I hope so. I don't want to find out that I had this shirt paid off for nothing." Trapper told him.

Andrew could only stare in confusion at this. He was unable to come up with anything to say about it. Fortunately, Henry Blake saw the confused look on his face and decided to speak up on their behalf.

"Yeah. As you can see Major, these two are a couple of practical jokers," he revealed.

"I see," Andrew said slowly. "I think I figured that out..."

"In any case, we were just about to drink some Champagne," Henry said. "We were just waiting for you to show up."

"Yeah. Hey, why don't you grab a cup and join us?" Hawkeye suggested.

"We are making this toast to welcome you to the 4077," Trapper told him.

"Thanks, but I'm not a drinker," Andrew pledged, holding his hands up.

"You aren't?" Trapper raised an eyebrow. "You have no idea what you're missing out on!"

"Yeah, this stuff helps put the mind at ease," Hawkeye commented. "And it's especially helpful since we're stuck in the middle of the war, and after we've performed in OR."

"And it looks like it helps too," Andrew exclaimed. "But I only drink on certain occasions. And even then, I only drink in small doses."

This put them in a rather state of shock. Andrew just arrived, and he had revealed to not be a drinker and is a light drinker at most on certain occasions only. Despite this, they decided not to egg him any further.

"Well, if he doesn't want to drink, then we shouldn't force him," Colonel Blake said. "Suit yourself, Major."

"Yeah. Hey Radar," Hawkeye called out for the company clerk. "Would you like to join us in some drinks!?"

Radar poked his head from the door and gave them an answer. "Oh. No thank you, sirs. I prefer to drink grape nehi."

"That's right," Trapper retorted, rolling his eyes. "I forgot that this isn't the Officer's Club."

"Officer's Club?" Andrew quizzed, looking confused.

"Yeah we have an Officer's Club here," Hawkeye answered. "It's where we go whenever we want to get drunk."

"It doesn't change the fact that this place is a hell hole, but we still love it," Trapper added.

"I see," Andrew mused as Radar went back into his office.

For the next several minutes, Andrew could only take in what he learned about the 4077 so far. From the looks of it, it seems the people here do some rather weird stuff to block out the horrors that the war brings. He had no problem with that, but it still made him feel a bit unnerved.

He was then brought out of his thoughts when the door slammed opened, and entering was Frank Burns who had given a salute to the Colonel and had to make a report.

"Colonel Blake, I have checked the supply tents and the medical room, and everything is in good condition!" He yelled.

"At ease," Henry rolled his eyes at this.

Andrew then turned around and saw Frank for himself. He noticed that he was wearing the proper uniform that was worn in this outfit. It was nothing like what Hawkeye and Trapper were wearing.

At least this guy seems normal. Andrew thought as he decided to get Frank's attention.

"Uh excuse me," he started. "And who might you be?"

This got Frank to stare at the new Major, and he didn't hesitate to answer.

"It's Major Frank Burns! What's it to you?!" Frank barked at him.

I take it back... Andrew couldn't help but notice the rude tone of voice that Frank gave to him. Regardless, he took a deep breath and spoke up.

"I happen to be Major Andrew Peterson," Andrew told him calmly.

It was then Frank realized exactly who this guy was. They were expecting him to show up in their unit where he was being stationed.

"Ah. So your the runt who is joining our M*A*S*H unit as Colonel Blake revealed," Frank was very blunt with that comment.

Andrew felt his left eye twitch. He hasn't done anything to Frank, and yet he feels the need to be nothing but disrespectful towards him. He maintained that stoic expression on his face, trying his hardest not to flip his lid. Fortunately, he didn't get to say anything as Hawkeye and Trapper stepped in.

"Don't listen to Frank, Andrew," Hawkeye assured him. "He's just jealous because he's stuck with us and you get to have your own tent."

"Yeah," Trapper agreed. "Ol' Ferret Face here is sore over the fact that he doesn't get a tent of his own, and you do."

"You guys stay out of this!" Frank yelled at them.

"Wait. I get a tent of my own?" Andrew queried.

"That's right. I forgot to tell you, Major," Henry brought up. "During your stay at the 4077, you get to stay in your own tent that was set up just for you."

"Wow," Andrew seemed flattered by this. "I...I don't know what to say..."

"You don't have to," Hawkeye told him.

"I still want to have that tent for myself," Frank grumbled.

"Will you knock it off Burns," Henry groaned.

"So anyway, I'm gonna need to bring the suitcases that I brought with me to the new tent," Andrew said. "Currently they are in Radar's office."

"Yeah, it might be a good idea to bring your suitcases to your assigned tent," Henry Blake told him as Radar entered the office and walked right next to Colonel Blake. "Radar!"

"Uh yes sir," Radar said from behind him, having gotten his attention.

"Radar," Henry started. "I want you to take Major Peterson's suitcases-"

"And bring them over to his new tent," Radar said at the same time Henry said it. "Got it. Sir."

With that, Radar went ahead and went back into his office and grabbed two of Andrew's suitcases, and headed for the new tent. Andrew was surprised that Radar came in when Henry Blake wanted to see him, along with knowing exactly what he had to do. He saw that Frank was still glowering at him for having the tent to himself, while Hawkeye and Trapper were to the side, not saying anything about it.

"Well, I might as well help Radar out with the suitcases," Andrew insisted as he headed for the door. "I'll be seeing you."

However, right as he was about to walk out the door, he found himself bumping into someone.

"Whoa," Andrew grunted as he realized that the person he ran into was a woman. "Sorry about that, ma'am."

Evidently, he got a good look at the person he accidentally bumped into. Needless to say, he was left in a daze by what he saw.

Wow. Andrew thought as it turns out the person he bumped into was Margaret. And by the looks of it, he seemed a little flustered by his mistake. Never mind the fact that she looked rather gorgeous. "Uhhhhhh..."

He was unable to say anything else, as he had no idea what to say to her. He didn't have to as Margaret guessed as to who this person was.

"Are you Major Peterson, the new Major that we were expecting?"

"Yes," Andrew nodded as he realized that he hadn't left Colonel Blake's office. "I don't think we've met."

It was then Henry realized that he forgot about her, and decided to speak up. "Oh yeah, Major. This happens to be our head nurse. She's known as Major Houlihan."

"I'm actually Major Margaret Houlihan," she corrected. "It's a pleasure to have you in our outfit Major."

"Uh, yeah, same here," Andrew spoke rather flustered-like.

At least Major Houlihan seems nicer than Major Burns... Andrew thought.

He then noticed that Margaret was giving him a rather flirtatious look. She was looking over Andrew's entire figure, and she liked what she saw. This got Andrew a bit confused, but he couldn't act upon it, because he felt something throbbing inside of him.

He also noticed a couple of other stares from behind. He turned around and saw that Frank Burns was giving him the death glare, while Hawkeye and Trapper were giving him some satisfied smirks. He was quick to piece together what they were thinking.

"Now guys," he tried to defend. "This isn't what it looks like."

"I know exactly what it looks like," Frank scoffed angrily. "That was very un-military like of you to do that to Major Houlihan!"

Andrew grew annoyed by that as he pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Okay, Major Burns. First of all, it was only an accident. Everyone has them. And second of all, I wasn't trying to do anything with Major Houlihan!"

"You heard him, Frank," Trapper spoke up. "We all have our accidents, and you're no exception."

"Just like the time we made you wet the bed," Hawkeye joined in as the two of them laughed at that.

"That wasn't very funny you two," Frank lashed out at them. "That was insulting and disgusting!"

"Why Frank," Hawkeye told him in faux-shock. "Don't be jealous that Margaret is focusing her attention on Andrew instead of you."

"What?!" Frank howled. "I'll have you know that I'm a happily married man!"

"That's not what we saw the other night," Trapper teased him.

Frank could only utter some words under his breath as Andrew was unsure about what to think of this. Tension in the office was starting to rise, and he was at a loss as to what he should do about it. Thankfully, Henry picked up on it, as he tried to do something about it.

"Well, the gang is all here," Henry said awkwardly, holding his glass of Champagne up.

"I'll drink to that," Hawkeye remarked.

"Here, here," Trapper agreed as he clinked his glass against Hawkeye's glass.

The three of them drank their beverages as Andrew looked like he was overwhelmed by the sheer awkwardness of the situation.

"Yeah..." Andrew muttered. "In any case, I guess it's a good thing that I joined this outfit. I just want you all to know that even though I'm a surgeon, what I do in my profession isn't anything special. So don't be surprised if I don't think highly of myself."

"Wow. Isn't this something?" Trapper commented. "First Andrew reveals not to be a heavy drinker like the rest of us. And now he's being modest about being a surgeon."

"Yeah Frank," Hawkeye agreed. "You should take a lesson from Andrew here and not think so highly of yourself."

"Will you guys shut up," Frank did not appreciate being talked to like that.

"I mean it guys," Andrew's voice was full of modesty. "Don't expect anything too big when I'm performing surgery."

"Well, we'll find out for ourselves when we are in OR," Henry decided to comment.

"Right," Andrew tugged on his collar. "I better bring my suitcases to my new tent and help Radar with unpacking. I'll be seeing you guys."

Andrew scurried out the door and grabbed the remaining two suitcases before heading for the tent that he'll be staying in. He left the others behind, who were wondering what they should do next...

IN ANDREW'S NEW TENT - 17:49

It was shown that Andrew had just finished getting himself settled into the new tent, as it was to his likeness. And he got Radar to help out with emptying the suitcases and setting things out for him. This came after he found his green uniform on his bed and changed into his new uniform, putting on the army dog tags around his necklace over his outfit. He could have sworn that he asked for a cap, but it wasn't here. He decided to worry about that later.

On the shelf, he had some personal belongings, along with some photos of important people such as General MacArthur and Harry Truman, among others. Needless to say, Andrew was happy to be settled in.

"And I guess that's the last of it," Andrew dusted his hands off. "Hey, thanks for helping me set up my tent Radar."

"It was no problem. Sir," Radar told him before his eyes caught the attention of a book that Andrew had on his desk. It was revealed to be 1984 by George Orwell. "Uhh. 1984?"

"Oh yeah. That's a personal favorite book of mine," Andrew said out of flattery. "I got it just a year ago when it was published and released. Along with Animal Farm, this happens to be my favorite book by George Orwell."

"Ah. I see," Radar simply said as Andrew put the book on his shelf before straightening out his desk.

At this point, both Hawkeye and Trapper made their way to Andrew's tent and saw that Andrew got himself all situated in his new home.

"Ah, so I see the new Major has gotten himself comfortable," Hawkeye told him.

"You know, you ought to be lucky," Trapper remarked. "You get to have a tent to yourself. Many of us would kill to have our own tent."

"Like Frank Burns," Hawkeye added.

"Yeah. I don't appreciate how he acted hostile about that," Andrew admitted. "In any case, I'm happy to have my own tent."

"Hey uh. Sir?" Radar felt like bringing something up. "If you don't mind me asking. Why were you chosen to join this M*A*S*H unit?"

"Hmmm...that's a tough question to answer," Andrew thought about how to answer that. "Well, I guess it happened one normal day when I was at home. Suddenly, my mom gets a call from the draft board. Tells her that I'm being drafted to this M*A*S*H unit in South Korea, which happens to be the 4077 immediately. I get on a plane for South Korea, and now here I am."

Radar was unsure about what to say about that. As far as Hawkeye and Trapper are concerned, they had something that they wanted to say about it. But before they could get their word out, another visitor stopped by with something for Major Peterson.

It was revealed to be Margaret, who had Andrew's cap in her hands. Disregarding Hawkeye, Trapper, and Radar, she focused her attention on Andrew.

"I see you got yourself in your new tent," the head nurse handed him his cap. "I have your cap right here."

"Hey," Andrew seemed satisfied. "This is the cap that I was expecting to get."

"Yup, and I took the liberty of putting that gold oak leaf pin on the front of your cap," she told him.

"Major," Andrew seemed flattered. "You didn't have to do this for me."

"Maybe," Margaret shrugged. "But I'm just following army regulations and I wanted this gold oak leaf pinned onto the front of your cap to show everyone that you are a Major and that you are to be respected as one."

Andrew was unable to say anything. He appreciated this gesture. Although he couldn't help but feel that there was more to it than just following army regulations. The fact that she was giving him another flirtatious look certainly didn't shake off the possibilities. Despite this, he kept that stoic expression on his face.

"Well, I appreciate this," Andrew said sincerely. "Thank you very much."

"Think nothing of it." She told him calmly.

Nobody else said a word for the next several minutes. Andrew was wondering how his time at the 4077 would go if anyone would show him respect for being a Major, and if Frank would give him more grief and aggravation. There's also the fact that based on what he heard, Frank and Margaret seem pretty close, so he had to keep a lid on his emotions and stay calm throughout his stay here. Regardless, this wasn't going to be a normal stay for him.

Before anyone could say anything, Radar started to hear a disturbance approaching the compound. In a matter of seconds, he realized exactly what was coming.

"Uh oh. Choppers," he proclaimed.

"Choppers?" Andrew tilted his head as Hawkeye and Trapper knew what this meant.

"Choppers," Radar declared as he ran out of the tent. "INCOMING CHOPPERS! WE GOT WOUNDED!"

So I guess that's what Radar was referring to when he told me that earlier. Andrew mused to himself as an announcement was made on the intercom.

"ATTENTION, ALL PERSONNEL! INCOMING CASUALTIES! REPORT TO THE OPERATING ROOM ON THE DOUBLE!"

"Now would be a great time to see how great of a surgeon Andrew is," Hawkeye remarked.

"Let's hope it's nothing too dreadful," Trapper commented as they all left Andrew tent to get ready to go into OR to treat the wounded.

Andrew said nothing as he followed them. As he did so, he felt so many things running through his mind. One thing was for certain.

Things at the M*A*S*H 4077 were going to get crazy for him...

END OF CHAPTER 1...

Yeah, that's it for this chapter. I hope this is better than what I did in the previous story. And I hope you are satisfied with what I'm writing.

Now as I said before, Andrew has the same personality that he had in the original, and it'll grow differently as the story presses forward. I already have a plan worked out for him here.

Just know the mistake I made in the other story isn't going to be made here, since this is focused during the original era (first three seasons) and the pairing should work better here. I hope you will all understand my motive for this.

Anyway, for the next chapter, Andrew performs in OR, he doesn't think fondly of his surgical techniques, Frank gives him more grief, Hawkeye and Trapper pull a prank on Andrew which results in him pulling one back on them, and Andrew will meet Klinger for the first time. How will all of this go? Find out next time.

Now you can leave any reviews that you want to if you wish. I just hope that any reviews will let me know that I'm doing a better job with the start of this story. Just to let you all know.

Otherwise, I got nothing else to say here. So until next time, I hope you look forward to this reboot, and on that note, thanks for reading people!
